Chapter 2

 

Serena opened her blood shot eyes when she heard a knock at her door. Getting off of her bed she opened the door and saw the Sailor Scouts standing there. “Hey girl, are you alright?” Mina asked. “Why are you crying? What happened?” Lita asked walking into her room. Serena looked at her nightstand where a picture of her and Darien were before a new wave of tears rolled down her face. “Serena, pull it together.” Raye said handing her a tissue. “I don't need this right now Raye. First Darien left me and now you.” Serena snapped. “Darien dumped you; but why would he do that? We all know you get married to him, Rini's the result of that.” Amy said shocked. “Rini, oh Rini please you've got to still be here.” Serena said running out of her room and across the hall to where Rini's room was. Opening the door she bolted up the stairs and began crying again. There was no bed and no trace of any little girl having been there. “Sailor Scouts come on we have to meet Artemis at the Higurashi Shrine.” Luna said running up the stairs. The Sailor Scouts nodded before trying get Serena back on her feet and back to being the Sailor Moon they once knew.

 

Darien woke up groggily in a room he didn't recognize with a woman who looked like she was getting ready to pop, whipping his face with a cool rag. “Oh, you're awake! Darling he's awake.” She said happily. “Where am I?” Darien asked sitting up slightly. “You're at the Western Palace.” A man said walking in the door. Darien couldn't help but stare at the man in shock. He had one blue stripe on his cheeks, golden eyes, silver hair which was in a high ponytail, two tails, claws, and fangs. “Um… who are you?” Darien asked. “I am the Lord Inu no Tashio of this castle but you may call me Inu Tashio.” Inu Tashio said. “I'm his mate Izayoi.” Izayoi said smiling. Darien smiled back before looking around the room for Kagome. “You're friend is in the hallway, she's been worried about you ever since she woke up.” Inu Tashio said smelling his concern. Darien nodded his head in thanks before climbing out of the bed. “Are you sure you're well enough to be up?” Izayoi asked concerned. “I'll be fine, just as long as I don't fall down any more wells.” He said laughing. “Darien? I thought I heard your voice are you alright?” Kagome asked rushing into the room. “I'm going to go back to my study. If you need me feel free to ask one of the servant's.” Inu Tashio said kissing his mate before leaving the room. “I'm afraid I must go as well, with my due date approaching rapidly its best if I lie down for a while.” Izayoi said smiling before hobbling out of the room.

 

Kagome stood in front of Darien quietly after the two had left. “How do you know my name?” Darien asked breaking the silence. Kagome smiled and sat down in a chair next to the bed. “You might not want to carry your school ID around with you when you fight, Tuxedo Mask.” Kagome said throwing his ID at him. “Okay so you know my name but I don't know yours… Sailor Sun.” Darien said smirking. “Kagome Higurashi, it's nice to finally meet the man behind the mask.” She said holding her hand out. Darien smiled and took her hand in his, shaking it, before looking around again. “So how'd you wake up faster than me if you're head hit the side of the well?” Darien asked as Kagome stood up. “I don't know, all I know is we've been out for a few days.” Kagome said walking to the door with him following. “Wait a second! Are you trying to tell me that the well we fell into has some sort of magical spell on it or something?” Darien asked. `I knew we were forgetting one of the important topics of going into another time period other than the one we should have landed in.' Kagome thought sighing. Kagome stopped walking and turned to Darien. “This is the price you pay when you don't leave when someone tells you, you shouldn't be in that place.” Kagome said.

 

Sesshomaru walked down the hall from his room when he caught the smell of the two humans his father had found in a well. Wrinkling his nose in distaste he scoffed before continuing his walk to the dinning room. When he arrived he saw that there were two extra places set, most likely for the two humans. Sitting down in his usual seat and waited for lunch to be brought out. Five minutes after the food was brought out the two humans walked in unhappily. “I told you we were lost.” Darien said. “Yeah but I still asked where the dinning room was.” Kagome said. “Yeah but if you just asked in the first place we would have been here quicker. So you owe me.” Darien said. “I don't owe you anything.” Kagome scoffed. “Humans stop your bickering.” Sesshomaru said. Kagome and Darien jumped when they heard his voice but stopped fighting just so they could fill their stomachs. “Are you're parents joining us?” Darien asked. “That woman is not my mother!” Sesshomaru yelled standing up and walking out of the room.

 

Kagome and Darien finished eating as Inu Tashio and Sesshomaru walked into the room and placed some maps on the far end of the table. “Are you sure you must do this now Inu Tashio? The baby could come at any day and we're not even certain the North will attack us.” Izayoi said. “Izayoi, Sesshomaru and I will be back as soon as we can. Don't worry I will keep the West safe with all that I am.” Inu Tashio said. Sesshomaru packed the maps in a bag and walked out of the dinning room with Inu Tashio following. “Be safe.” Izayoi said. “Always, now don't have the baby until I get back.” He said kissing her before leaving and following his son. “Lady Izayoi, what's going on?” Kagome asked standing up with Darien. “Please no formalities. A war's about to break out between the West and North.” Izayoi answered. “Come on you should be resting.” Darien said grasping her arm and leading her back to her room.

 

When they arrived at Izayoi's room Kagome had the hall memorized so they wouldn't get lost again. “Thank you both of you.” Izayoi said as Kagome helped her into the bed. “Is there anything you need?” Darien asked. “No but thank you for asking. I just want this baby out of me or else I'll reach in and grab him out myself.” Izayoi said laughing. Kagome and Darien bowed before walking out of the room. “Wow, can't wait until I get married and have children.” Kagome said dreamily. Darien laughed as they made their way to the garden's to take a look around. Sitting down near the fountain Kagome closed her eyes and yawned. “You can't be tired.” Darien said shocked. “I can't help it that has got to be the first time I've had such a good sleep. I'm usually getting up early or woken up by a demon or some other creature attacking.” Kagome said rubbing her eyes. Darien saw her discomfort and put his arm around her shoulders and pushed her head onto his shoulder. “Sleep.” He commanded. Kagome blushed but began to feel her eyelids drop and soon found herself in dreamland. Darien watched Kagome sleep before leaning his head on hers and following her into the land of dreams.

 

Kagome felt herself getting shaken awake. Groaning she opened her eyes and saw dark brown meet her gaze, “What's wrong?” She asked yawning. “It's Lady Izayoi, she's going into labor and she sent me to fetch you both.” The servant said. Kagome nodded her head and shook Darien awake. “Kagome, what's going on?” He asked. “Izayoi's going into labor, come on.” Kagome said grabbing his hand and running back into the palace. “Lady Izayoi?” Kagome asked running into the room. Darien ran in after her and closed the door so no one could come in. “Kagome I think the baby's coming!” Izayoi yelled as another contraction washed over her. Kagome nodded her head before turning to Darien. “Go get some hot water and some towels.” Kagome said. Darien nodded and tried opening the door but it wouldn't budge. “Darien!” Kagome yelled. “The door's jammed, we can't get out and no one can get in!” He yelled back yanking on the door again. “You can't be serious!” Kagome yelled jumping up. Running over to the door she rammed her shoulder into the door a few times before trying to kick it open. “It's not working.” Darien said putting his hands on the door. Izayoi's screaming brought them back to reality and they ran back over to her. “Oh no, Darien we need to get out of here and get someone who knows this better than I do.” Kagome said worriedly. “Why what's wrong?” Darien asked. “She's fully dilated.” Kagome said.
