Kagome sat in Kaede's hut with a sliver haired girl.

"Calm down," Kagome said. She had been trying to get the girl to stop crying for at least an hour.

"Leave her be Kagome," Kaede said.

"Huh?" Kagome asked.

"She needs some time to herself. Then she will be ok," Kaede said. "And perhaps we might even get a name."

Kagome nodded and left the hut.

"Who was that girl Kagome?" Sango asked.

"I don't know. She just appeared, she won't let me help heal her either," Kagome said.

"Another stupid wench," Inuyasha said.

"Don't call her that!" Kagome yelled.

"Is she from your time?" Sango asked.

"Hai, she must be confused and scared then," Kagome said.

"She must be weaker than you," Inuyasha muttered.

"I'll pretend I didn't hear that," Kagome said.

"Can she go through the well?" Shippo asked.

"Iie, she appeared out of no where and the well doesn't work for her," Kagome said.

"Take her back with you," Inuyasha growled.

"I tried. It won't let her pass, almost as if she's here for a reason," Kagome said.

"What reason?! We got all the shards and defeated Naraku," Inuyasha asked.

Then Sesshoumaru came carrying Rin with Jaken hurrying behind him. "Where's Kaede?" he asked.

"What do you want?!" Inuyasha growled.

"Rin is sick and I was told Kaede can heal her. Now where is she?" Sesshoumaru asked.

Kagome pointed to her hut and Sesshoumaru raised an eyebrow.

"Why is someone crying in there?" he asked.

"She won't tell us," Shippo blurted.

Sesshoumaru just walked in the hut and looked around a girl crying softly in the corner and Kaede sitting in front of a fire mixing something.

"What is it Sesshoumaru?" Kaede asked.

"Rin is sick," he said.

"Put her down and I'll take a look at her," Kaede said. Sesshoumaru obeyed and put Rin on a small blanket on the floor.

Kaede looked her over and frowned.

"I can't treat this," she said.

"Very well," Sesshoumaru said. The girl in the corner was now looking at Rin studying her then reached in her pocket and pulled out a bottle.

"What are you doing?" Jaken asked.

The girl ignored him and poured its contents down Rin's throat. Rin coughed a bit then sat up.

The girl felt her forehead then shook her head.

"She has a high fever. If you're traveling around with her it could turn into pneumonia and she could die," she said.

"Pneumonia?" Sesshoumaru asked.

"A sickness that there is no cure for. Only the person who has it can cure himself or herself if they're strong enough. To be truthful I've never seen anyone survive it," she said.

"Are you a healer?" Kaede asked.

"Some would call me that," she said.

"Can you heal her sickness?" Kaede asked.

"I don't have enough energy to do it now. By nightfall I can do it," she said.

"What is your name?" Kaede asked.

"Usagi," she said.

"Why were you so upset when you came here?" Kaede asked.

"Some things are better left unsaid," Usagi said and put a wet towel on Rin's head. "Leave her here for the night and come back in the morning."

Sesshoumaru nodded and stood up and left with Jaken.

It was hard for him to tear away from Usagi's sweet and pleasant scent.

"Are you human?" Kaede asked.

"Iie, Lunarian," she said.

"One of the last of the moon," Kaede said.

"Hai," Usagi said and looked down at Rin.

An hour later Kagome entered with Inuyasha and Shippo to find Usagi bent over Rin constantly checking her forehead while Kaede mixed herbs.

"So wench, are you going to tell us your name?" Inuyasha asked.

"Inuyasha!" Kagome said harshly.

"Feh," Inuyasha replied.

"My name is Usagi," Usagi said.

"What time do you come from?" Kagome asked.

"Way back in the past," Usagi said with a slight smile.

"What?" Kagome asked.

"She comes from the sliver millennium, one of the last Lunarians," Kaede said.

"Then how come you have clothes from my time?" Kagome asked.

"Time travel. I prefer clothes from your time because they are much more better than long dresses," Usagi said.

"Why do you have a tail?" Shippo asked.

"Comes from my father," Usagi said.

"Which was?" Inuyasha asked.

"I don't know. My mother never told me, he died before I was born and Setsuna forbids me to go that far in the past," Usagi said.

"Its pretty," Shippo said.

"Arigato," Usagi said brushing the tip lightly across his face. He giggled in delight.

Her tail was long and sliver, the fur on it was sleek down with the tip furry.

When midnight came Usagi bent over Rin and moved her bangs from her forehead then a golden crescent moon appeared on it. It made the room glow dimly and she looked down on Rin.

A triton appeared on Rin's forehead and Usagi smirked. She was an aqua from Neptune. She would be smart, beautiful and graceful one day. It didn't shine which Usagi expected. She didn't tell anyone that it wasn't pneumonia but Seles. Only people reincarnated got it.

Her crescent moon beamed down brightly on the triton and it glowed a soft aqua green. Usagi smirked, by tomorrow morning the little girl would be as good as new.

She carried her back to Kaede's hut and set her on a blanket then moved to a corner and slept.

When she awoke with small warmth was by her stomach and a blanket around her.

She pulled the warmth up more, as if protecting it.

Then shot up. Since when did small warmth lay by her stomach? She looked down and saw Rin. She was using her tail as a pillow.

Then Usagi thought about it, Sesshoumaru had a tail like her only a bit fluffier. Rin awoke and smiled at her.

"Hello," Usagi said softly.

"Rin," she said.

"Usagi," Usagi responded.

Rin yawned and stretched.

Usagi got up and stretched like a cat, Kagome was currently yelling at Inuyasha about eating all her Ramen noodles, Shippo was eating quietly and Sango and Miroku were nowhere in sight.

After Rin and her ate the breakfast made for them, Rin wanted to go out for a walk and Usagi agreed.

She enjoyed watching Rin running around and stops to look at flowers. They stopped at a waterfall.

Rin was studying some fish in a small pond that was connected to the river somehow and Usagi watched.

She had already eaten, so there was no need to go fishing. Her tail swayed lazily when it connected with another. They swayed together and Usagi thought nothing of it.

Then the tail wrapped around hers and she snatched it back. She turned around quickly to find Sesshoumaru with Jaken.

"Rin!" Usagi called. Rin turned and saw Sesshoumaru and ran to him.

"Sesshoumaru-sama!" she squealed hugging his tail.

"Rin go play with Jaken," Sesshoumaru ordered.

"Hai Lord Sesshoumaru," Jaken sighed and took Rin into the forest.

`Maybe one fish wouldn't hurt,' Usagi thought as she grabbed a fish from the water.

"I want you as my mate," Sesshoumaru said.

Usagi dropped her fish and her mouth hung open.

Sesshoumaru ran his tail up hers lightly and the fur on it stuck up making it frizzy.

Sesshoumaru found this amusing, very amusing. He let a small smile grace his features.

"I can't, I-I- have an arrange marriage," Usagi said.

"So? Cancel it, or do I have to fight him first?" Sesshoumaru asked.

"I don't know," Usagi said and walked off.

Later that day, Sesshoumaru appeared in front of Kaede's hut in search for Usagi.

"I do not know where she has gone, what do you want to see her for?" Kaede asked.

"Hai, Sesshoumaru, what do you want to see her for?" Shippo asked.

Now he understood why his brother was always bopping the little fire fox, he was annoying but kawaii.

Hopefully they would produce some pups as kawaii as Shippo.

"That is none of your concern," Sesshoumaru said.

Usagi had just come in with Kagome carrying some herbs.

"Usagi, speak with me outside," Sesshoumaru said walking out.

Usagi looked at Kaede who nodded then put down her herbs and left after Sesshoumaru.

"What was that all about?" Kagome asked.

"He smells different," Shippo said.

"He's going to mate with Usagi soon, if she stops being stubborn like you and Inuyasha were," Kaede said.

"You mean Sesshoumaru?" Kagome began.

"Hai, I saw it when he first brought Rin over. He could've chose the other village about 5 miles away from us demo he came here because of Usagi's scent," Kaede said.

"Where is this so call arranged mate at?" Sesshoumaru asked.

"Why would you want to know?" Usagi asked suspiciously.

"So I can kill him and claim you," Sesshoumaru said.

"And why do you want me as your mate?" Usagi asked. Their tails were linked again and began wrapping around each other.

"You're intelligent, nice, Rin likes you, strong," he said then gave her a small kiss. "Sweet and your beauty is a bonus."

He held her close inhaling her scent and gave her a small kiss on her cheek. He was about to mark her when an arrow went whistling past them. It didn't hit them but it scratched Usagi arm and he looked at it.

"I'm fine Sess-chan. It's just a scratch," Usagi said.

"Get away from her!" a man voice shouted.

"Your arranged mate?" Sesshoumaru asked not turning around.

"Hai, he's a baka," Usagi said.

"What do I have to do to end the arrangement?" Sesshoumaru whispered.

"Kill him, mark me or defeat him in battle," Usagi whispered.

"I prefer to kill him but you wouldn't like that. Mark you; you'd rather have me do it under better circumstances. So I guess I have to battle him without killing him," Sesshoumaru said.

"Hai," Usagi said. "Now get to it."

"Yes Usa," he said and walked towards him.

The man had dark mess hair and blue eyes. Sesshoumaru was no afraid in any way. He could tell he was just a normal human, no special powers or strength really.

"Leave or I'll kill you," Sesshoumaru said.

"Not without Usagi," he said stubbornly.

"Fine," Sesshoumaru said and strikes him without warning. The man smirked until his armor fell off from the strike.

The man unsheathed a sword and Sesshoumaru stared at it with amazement. It was radiating a strong power and surround with a dark aura. Maybe this fight would be harder than he thought.

The man tried to hit him with the sword and he dodged easily. One thing was for sure; the man did not know how to handle the sword well enough.

"Sess-chan! Be careful! That sword has a mind of its own!" Usagi shouted.

He smirked; she knew the sword was powerful. Heck she probably even used it herself a few times.

Then the sword power grew and Sesshoumaru was thrown off guard as the sword nearly cut his tail.

Then the man got angry.

They fought and fought; it was obvious the sword was the one behind the man's moves and skills. The man just let the sword fight for him, what a coward.

Then Sesshoumaru knocked him on the ground and he glared up at him.

"If I can't have her, no one can," he said and charged towards Usagi.

Her back was turned and she was looking at something in the distance when the sword went plunging through her.

Sesshoumaru watched in horror as her blood spattered on the ground and she fell over.

She was dead now and the man who killed her would be too soon enough.

He charged over and clawed open the man's chest and pulled out his heart. Never had he had so much rage and anger in him. He let out a loud anguish howl that his father had did when his mother had died.

Then he picked up Usagi's limp body and walked away with it.

Inuyasha and the others heard the howl and wondered what it was for.

"Usagi's dead," Inuyasha said. There was no emotion in his voice. He hated to admitted it but he had cared for Usagi as a sister. He had told Kagome how he felt and he knew Kaede knew too.

Sesshoumaru went to a tree and sat her up against it. He unsheathed the Tensugia.

For once he was actually happy he was given the healing sword instead. He brought Usagi back and she threw her arms around him crying.

"Shh Koi," he whispered in her ear. "I'll protect you."
