This chapter is shorter then I would like it to be but Im still in a hotel in texas from katrina and may very well be here till December so im not feeling very inspired. Im not abandoning my story, but it may take a while for me to put the next chapter up so im apoligizing in advance. Sorry.

I must also give thanx to my roommate Faye she helped me out with the ending to this chapter.

“Vash here what’s up?” Vash answered his cell after pausing the game he and kagome were playing.

“Yo vash where are you at? Everyone at the compound is asking for you.” Nick asked.

“Im at Kagome’s.” vash answered.

“What are you still doing there?” nick asked with a suggestive note in his voice.

“Playing video games.” vash answered bluntly.

“Your shitting me?” nick replied in disbelief.

“Nope.” vash replied.

“You’re over there with kagome, the woman of your dreams I might add, in her house by yourselves and you’re just playing video games. Are you fucking mental?” nick yelled the last part into the phone.

“Most likely.” vash answered with a sigh.

“Damn. Well are you coming to the compound?” nick asked.

“Definitely not.” vash answered sticking his tongue out at kagome.

“Alright. See you later.” nick said while tracking Lilith down

“Yea same here.” vash said

“Give kagome my love.” nick said to get a rise out of vash.

“Not a chance in hell.” vash said roughly to nick.

“Ha ha ha well I’ll let you get back to your games.” nick said to vash.

“Ok bye,” vash said as he hung up his cell.

“Who was that?” kagome asked as she unpaused the game before he was ready.

“Wolfwood. Hey! No fair! Cheater!” vash said trying to get to his controller.

“You were taking too long.” kagome pouted as she killed him in the game. “Want to go another round?”

“No. I don’t play with cheaters.” vash said giving kagome a fake glare.

“Since when did you turn into a big baby?” kagome taunted him.

“Big baby?” vash asked as he advanced on her.

Kagome was laughing so hard that she didn’t notice the advance till it was too late. Vash pounced kagome. Wrestling with her till he had her pinned.

“Take it back kagome.” vash said while staring down into his eyes.

“Alright I take it back. You’re not a big baby.” kagome said staring into his eyes too. Neither seemed to realized the position they were in. Vash started to lower his head till his lips were barely an inch from hers. Kagome leaned up to kiss vash when she realized he wasn’t on her anymore.

Kagome jumped up to see vash fighting with... “SIT” kagome yelled and watched inuyasha slam into the living room floor.

Kagome ran over th vash to check if he was hurt.

“Vash are you ok?” kagome asked worry easily read in her voice.

“Yea kagome im fine but what the hell is that?” he asked staring at inuyasha. Kagome turned to see inuyasha face down on the floor cursing at her for sitting him.

“INUYASHA WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?” kagome yelled at him.

When the subduing spell wore off inuyasha got up and faced kagome. “Im here to bring you back. You still have shards to help us find.” inuyasha said as he crossed his arms over his chest and stuck his nose in the air.

“So I take it you know him.” vash stated.

“Yes.” kagome said sadly. “I haven’t really been sick. I’ve been traveling to the past to stop an ancient evil from taking over the world. I know it sounds crazy but it gets weirder. Inuyasha is a.”

“hanyou” vash stated unsurprised.

“Yes. But how did you know?” kagome asked surprise written on her face.

“Because I believe in all those things that go bump in the night. And I’ve been studying demonology online. So that’s where you’ve been. I didn’t think you were sick all that time.” vash said reflecting on all the times the teacher or her mom said she was sick.

“Wait why didn’t you believe I was sick?” kagome asked.

“Well when we were children you were never sick and I did some research some of the illnesses they said you had didn’t fit with the description they gave.” vash answered.

Inuyasha was tired of being ignored. He marched up to kagome and grabbed her by the arm to drag her to the well.

“Inuyasha im not going back to the past with you.” kagome said as she struggled to free her arm from his grasp.

Vash grabbed kagome from around her waist and pulled her close to him. “Maybe you didn’t hear her. She’s not going anywhere with you.”

“She has to. She broke the jewel. She let evil get most of it. She is the only one that can see it. She is coming back to help gather the rest of the shards.” inuyasha said with finality.

“Im not going with you. I never want to see you again.” kagome yelled at him.

“Well too bad. You should have thought of that before you broke the jewel.” inuyasha said glaring at vash.

“Wait stop. We can handle this like adults. Let go of kagome and we can talk about this.” vash said trying to be mature about this.

“No way. You’re just trying to get kagome away from me.” inuyasha stated paranoid of vash. He didn’t trust him.

“Fine we’ll let go at the same time. Ok?” vash asked.

“Fine.” inuyasha said eyeing him to make sure he didn’t try to take kagome.

Both of them let go of kagome slowly.

“Kagome has to come back. If she doesn’t then Naraku will get the jewel and take over the world. So she comes.” inuyasha said with finality.

“I never said that she wasn’t going back.” vash answered simply.

“What?” kagome asked while inuyasha gave off a smug look.

“Kagome is going back she has to get the shards back.” vash told them.

“Woah since when do you decide what I do? Im not going back. I cant stand the sight of him let alone have to travel with him.” kagome told vash in her angry voice.

“Listen to him kagome. Even he sees that its your responsibility to put the jewel back together.” inuyasha said forgetting his anger at vash.

“He’s right kagome it’s your responsibility to fix the jewel, but she wont be traveling with you.” vash said looking at inuyasha.

“What the fuck. She has to travel with me. No one else can protect her.” inuyasha said glaring at vash.

“I will.” vash said as he moved closer to kagome.

“WHAT. NO FUCKING WAY.” inuyasha yelled at vash.

“No wait that’s a great idea. I can fix the jewel and vash can protect me.” kagome said. Thinking of how cool it would be to have a friend in the past with her.

“Then its settled. I’ll go back with kagome,” vash said glaring at inuyasha.

“How the fuck are you supposed to help her. You’re just mortal.” inuyasha stated

“special guns.” vash answered simply.

“What the hell are guns?” inuyasha asked confused at the strange word.

“Guns are like my bow and arrows only more powerful.” kagome tried to explain.

“You cant protect her with just a gun. You’ll be up against youkai (sp?) You need more then just a modern version of a bow and arrow. Inuyasha sneered.

“Don’t worry I have something to take care of the youkai that need more then a gun to take care of them.” vash answered.

“then its settled. I’ll go back in time with vash. Me and vash will look for shards and you and the group can look for shards. We can meet in like a month and put them all together.” kagome told them her plan.

“No fucking way” inuyasha all but yelled at her.

“Its that or I don’t go back. I’ll subdue you get vash to throw you in the well and I’ll seal it.” kagome threatened.

Inuyasha stood there pouting about the situation.

He could do nothing, Kagome was the only one who could see the shards so he had to comply with her demands.

Vash watched inuyasha and smiled tauntingly.

Protecting Kagome would bring them closer and he was not about to let her go off by herself in the past. He was going to protect her and have fun at the same time by pissing off inuyasha..
