Chapter 4

 

 

 

Hiei woke sometime during the night with a powerful headache. He was about to sit up when he felt the weight and warmth of someone next to him. He slowly opened his eyes to see the warm body of the female exterminator laying right next to him.

 

`She looks beautiful when she sleeps.' Hiei thought to himself. `But she looks way to lonely over there.' And then proceeded to gently but firmly take Sango into his arms. Once he had her in his arms Sango seemed to just cuddle closer and gave a small purr of satisfaction.

 

`Well, well, well, this is interesting. It seems this woman holds some affection for me after all.' Hiei thought to himself with a small smirk. He then proceeded to fall back to sleep and enjoyed the first night of peace he had ever experienced.

Sango was incredibly warm and content. She hadn't had a peaceful night's sleep in so long that she forgot what one felt like. She was already waking up but didn't want to open her eyes and lose the contentment that had suddenly came over her during the night. As she cuddled closer to the warmth, she suddenly realized that warmth she felt did not come from her feline friend but something or someone else. She stiffened when she felt to arms wrapped around her. Sango laid perfectly still and kept her eyes closed as she tried to think back to who could be holding her. She suddenly realized that instead of the hardness of the ground cushioning her head, it was someone's muscular chest she was using as a pillow. She slowly opened her eyes and saw the black shirt of the smaller demon, Hiei. She also came to the realization that half of her body was on top of him and that her arms were wrapped around his neck. Sango slowly looked up and into the red amused eyes of Hiei.

 

Hiei had actually woken up a while ago and was loathe to move away from the demon slayer. Sometime in the night she come to embrace him and if it were possible to get even closer to him. He knew the exact moment she had woken up, but forced himself to relax. He was dreading to see her reaction. To see if she would show disgust or rejection towards him. He was after all the forbidden child, and his presence is not always tolerated, much less welcomed. But the reaction he had gotten instead was something he was not expecting, much less prepared for.

 

When Sango looked up and saw Hiei's eyes, she lost herself in his eyes. `Kami, he is so beautiful.' Sango thought to herself. She just couldn't stop herself from staring into his mysterious eyes. She wasn't quit sure why, but she was drawn to this demon like no other. It was almost as if he was looking into her very soul.

 

Hiei has been looking into her mind and knew exactly what she was thinking. The fact that she was attracted to him brought a powerful reaction to his body. He slowly lowered his face and caught Sango's lips in a passionate yet gentle kiss. Sango soon lost herself in the wonder of Hiei's kiss. `who would ever have thought he had such soft lips.' After hearing this thought from Sango Hiei slowly rubbed the tip of his tongue at the entrance to her mouth coaxing an entrance to her sweet warmth. Sango quickly got up and started dressing hurriedly as Hiei did the same. She was now thinking about the repercussions and was starting to feel pretty low. `Sango, I have great respect for you' he started calmly and gently. `I respect you for both your skills as a warrior and you as a woman……..I think no less of you now……..instead I hold you in greater esteem………..I am not one for words so please do not hold it against me if I cannot say what you need to hear…….You have given me a sense of peace I did not know existed……..This demon would be honored if you would allow him to accompany you in your travels.' He finished softy, looking deeply into Sango's eyes and hoping she would not reject him as so many others had.

 

Sango looked deep into Hiei's eyes and saw that he was sincere. She also was able to see the loneliness, the sadness, and the hope in his eyes.

 

`It would be my pleasure to have you accompany me Hiei.' She said softly, then turned and made her way towards the spring to bathe and think about this sexy demon who seemed to have captured her heart overnight.

 

~ at the spring—bathing time ~

 

Hiei had followed Sango towards the spring to make sure that she would be safe during her bath. What he had not expected was the swift pull of desire that would hit him at the sight of her bare skin. `Well woman, no more of that.' Hiei stated, then stopped to think, `Well at least not until you have had time to recuperate.'

 

`But Hiei, I am fine.' Sango murmured back, `but if you need time to recuperate, then it's fine with him.' She taunted back.

 

Hiei hearing this, felt himself growing inside of her. `Woman are you challenging me.'

 

`you know my name demon use it.' Sango growled.

 

Hiei smirked. `Make me.' And then proceeded to show Sango how much stamina he really did have.

 

They never did break camp, but they did spend the day at the springs. It seems neither one of them was able to keep their hands off each other for any length of time. It wasn't till they smelled something good cooking from their campsite that they reluctantly left the springs to investigate.
