Disclaimer: Haven't we been over this by now? I do not and will never own YYH/IY. Neither do I own or have any affiliation with Reliant K, I just love their music.

Comments: Well I'm really sorry for not updating for the last `few' months, but I got a few bad grades on my report card for last term and my parents were cracking down on my computer time. So whenever I finished something early in my Office XP class I would write this chapter. Of course when I emailed it to myself the formatting that was there when it was written was gone when I pasted it. So I had to redo the formatting. And now here I am, with a chapter that will hopefully stand up to your standards. Then I got sick and when I say sick I mean sick, I was in bed for like a week. Then the last part of the chapter that I wrote in my class didn't get emailed to me for some reason and because I had spring vacation this past week I couldn't email it myself and had to rewrite it.

Enough of wasting your time, here's the next chapter. Enjoy.

Chapter Three
Kagome's POV

“Let's dance,” I said to Rin as I looked over at Kurama.

She smiled and we walked out onto the dance floor. Sadie Hawkins Dance by Reliant K started to play as we danced and I let a small cunning smile filter onto my face. I let my body flow with the music and I closed my eyes. I swayed and turned, raised my hands and moved. It was an element and my body lived. A hand touched my shoulder just then and I opened my eyes as I turned. Well, well, well Kurama. He was looking hot in those black pants and red wife-beater. I raised an eyebrow at him and placed a hand on my hip.

“Can I help you Kurama-san?”

“I just wanted to say hi,” He replied and gold flashed in his eyes.

Ah, there is something strange about him, “How about you buy me a drink and I let you in on a little secret?” I whispered in his ear before I started to walk to the bar.

I knew he was following me with his eyes but only that. His whole being was no where near mine and I flipped my long hair over one of my shoulders. An old move but maybe it would work. I leaned almost seductively against the bar and waited for him to come over. My kitsune senses noticed as he came towards us and I smiled as I motioned the bartender to come closer. As a demon I may not be able to get drunk but I could get a little tipsy.

“A shot of tequila please,” I ordered and put down a few bills. “Thank you.”

I watched him approach out fo the corner of my eye and the minute he got o the bar I threw my head back and drank the shot. It burned on the way down my throat but the heat it gave me was fabulous. Out of the corner of my eye I saw as Kurama gulped and smiled almost as he looked around before stepping forward. I contemplated getting another but quickly shot that down when Kurama took the bar stool next to mine. He was quiet as I fingered the small shot glass in my hand and then I finally turned to him.

“You're a kitsune, no?” I asked and there was shock in his eyes. “I can sense a kitsune in your aura, but there is also the aura of a human, care to explain?”

“I will if you tell me what I want to know about the Shikon no Tama.”

I sighed, “I thought I told you, I know nothing about it. That's why I gave you that list of shrines you could visit. All I know are myths of the power it will give you and the sadness it could also give. I'm sure more experienced priests and miko's could tell you more then I,” she smiled, “Plus I am not here to talk business but rather to have fun with my friend Rin.”

He motioned the bartender over, “Jerry, make sure this fine lady and her friend get the drinks they wan on the house whenever they come here.”

“Of course sir,” The bartender, Jerry, replied.

“This is your club? I would never have figured that for one like yourself.”

“Why do you ascertain that?”

I raised an eyebrow, “You're a spirit detective. You protect the barriers and the people living here,” he looked almost shocked at what I knew, “Oh please I work for the Lord of the Western Lands, what would you expect from me, total stupidity?”

“No, not at all.”

“Good, now if you excuse me I think my friend is getting hit on but a sleazy jerk and my boss will kill me if anything happens to her,” I gave him a tightlipped smile and then left the bar.

Something bothered me about him and it was just because of who he is or what it he is. I just don't know what it is that bothers me about him. I sighed and slid past dancers and tables as I walked quickly towards Rin. When I got close enough I put a seductive smile on my face and put a hand on one of the men's shoulders. He turned around and the minute he saw me he was lost. Rin could survive a few minutes with only one man harassing her while I took care of this idiot.

“Excuse me sir,” I said shyly, “But that's my friend your harassing and her father is one of the most respected men in Tokyo…his name is Sesshoumaru. I've heard he's not very nice when his daughter is harassed.”

He seemed to recognize the name and the minute I finished my small speech he was grabbing his friend and they both ran away from us through the crowed. Rin gave me a small smile and I returned it as I led her towards the bar. She hasn't had her first drink s a `legal' adult yet, not that she wasn't legal for the past five hundred some odd years. The bartender started towards us but was stopped a few times before he reached us.

“What can I get you two?”

“I'll take a strawberry daiquiri, this time, and for Rin a grape wine cooler,” he nodded and went to retrieve the drinks as I turned to Rin, “Start you off with something light, Wine Coolers don't have much alcohol and it takes a few of them to get you drunk.”

“Alright,” she replied and took the drink from Jerry. “How much do we owe you?”

“Nothing,” I answered for him and nodded towards were Kurama watched from one of the balconies, “Let's just say a certain detective owns the place and we can drink free whenever we come.”

She smiled, “That's wonderful. Apart from those two jerks I like this place a lot. It's better then other clubs I've been too,” she gave me a sheepish smile, “Don't worry this is the first time I've picked up a drink other then soda or water.”

“You had better be telling the truth,” I muttered under my breath even though I knew she was. “How about we get out of here?”

“Why? Didn't we like just get here?”

“Rin, finish your drink and then we leave,” I ordered.

She frowned but consented and within twenty minutes I was leading her out of the crowded and loud club. The minute we got into the car I turned to her. The alcohol hadn't even begun to do anything to either of us and I hoped it would stay that way. At least I better stay that way, I was hoping to drink more tonight. But not at a club. Just at my really big mansion where no one would bother us, but Sesshoumaru if he even wants too.

“So Rin, tell me, what happened to Kouga?”

“Why do you ask?” she questioned as she looked over at me.

“It must have to do with the fact that I sense him but can't seem to find him.”

She said nothing.

Kurama's POV

“Well I had a wonderful night,” I said sarcastically as I wondered into Genkai's temple.

“What happened?” Yusuke asked even though I knew he wasn't interested.

I smiled and took a seat on the ground near where Hiei was perched, “Higurashi-san and her friend Rin showed up at my club. She knows I'm a kitsune and that I have two aura's.”

“Is that a bad thing?” Kuwabara asked and everyone glared at him.

I took the cub of tea offered to me and sipped it slowly. It was very perplexing how she knew this about me when we knew so little about us. Maybe when we visit those shrines, especially the one who has her last name I can learn more about her.

You mean we can learn more about her.

`Yes,' I sighed and the continued, `I'm so sorry I forgot about you.'

No you're not. But she intrigues me, I can't help but wonder how much she knows about us other then being two different souls and also being spirit detective.

`There's something else. She knows more about the Shikon no Tama then she lets on and I believe Sesshoumaru knows just as much as she does.'

“Why does Koenma want us to find this jewel anyway?” I asked out loud.

“Hn.”

“Thanks for the input Hiei,” Yusuke muttered. “Maybe he thinks it's dangerous and can be used to arm people or harm the barrier.”

“I never knew you could be smart Yusuke,” Hiei remarked and Yusuke only glared at him. “But he is right, maybe it is another one of those objects that could harm the barriers and I for one do not want to know what could happen if the barriers fail.”

I shrugged and smirked, “Why Hiei are you saying you wouldn't be able to defeat any of the demons that cross into this world?”

“Hn.”

I stood up, “I think I'm going to go to some of these shrines and see what I can find out, does anyone want to go with me?”

“Feh,” Yusuke muttered, “I can't, I promised Keiko I would be home tonight and I don't want to break another promise, the last time I did that I had to sleep on the couch for two weeks. So I should probably leave now anyway.”

“I can't either, I need to get to work,” Kuwabara said and followed Yusuke from the temple.

“Hiei?”

“Hn, you don't need my help.”

--

I stood at the bottom of the stairs leading up into the Higurashi Shrine. No one seemed to around but I still walked up them and entered the yard. A house was in one corner while the shrine and `Gift Shop' were in another corner. Then as I continued to look around I spotted a well house with a door that was pretty much nailed shut.

Maybe there are little kids around here and they don't want them falling into the well?

`You don't seem very convinced of that.'

I'm not, but it's the only conclusion I can think of. Now here comes someone, maybe they work here.

'Shrine Maiden perhaps?'

I bowed to her and waited for her to speak. But she didn't and I stayed silent as I waited. She was older then me and must be Kagome-san's mother. I was only showing respect by waiting for her to speak. Not only that but I was trying to figure out why the well door was locked. Finally, it was as if the woman knew why I was here. He motioned for me to follow him and I did. She led me into the shrine and I took my shoes off in respect for the old shrine.

“Miko-sama,” She didn't correct me as I knelt before her on a mat. “My name is Suuichi. I wanted to hear about the legend of the Shikon no Tama. I know Higurashi Kagome, she is your daughter?”

She nodded and then finally spoke, “She is the carrier of the Shikon no Tama.”

What?!!

“I can't tell you everything for I do not know everything but she carried the Shikon no Tama inside of her until she was fifteen when it was taken from her. But she retrieved it and wished upon it. But I do not know of what became of that wish.”

`This is perplexing.'

Why didn't they just tell us that? It doesn't mean she still has it.

“What was to become of the jewel when wished upon?” I asked quietly.

“Well, it was supposed to disappear for good, but I don't think that happened. Rather, it didn't happen at all. Kagome is the Shikon no Tama.”

Kagome's POV

“Okaa-san,” I hissed through the phone, “What part of sticking to the old legend of the Shikon no Tama don't you understand? You weren't supposed to tell anyone about me. I don't care if he says he was my friend.”

`Kagome,' Her voice was sterner then it had ever been, `People deserve to hear about the history of the jewel.'

“Oh so now I'm history,” I muttered as I began to pace near the balcony doors, “Okaa-san, that man Suuichi, is a spirit detective, I told you about them, and now their probably going to lock me up for being the famed Shikon.”

`Kagome, you shouldn't worry so much. I think this Suuichi will stop that from happening.'

“Whatever Okaa-san,” I muttered and however un-honorable it was, I hung up on him. “Rin,” I shouted and didn't even care if she was asleep or hung-over, “What's the number to your Father's estate?”

“It's in your address book,” she shouted back, “which is in your library.”

“Thank you.”

“Your welcome and try not to get in a shouting match again, I need to sleep.”

“Yes sweetheart,” I said and my voice dripped with sarcasm.

I slammed the phone down onto the bed and then after I made sure it was still intact I left the bedroom. It was dark in the hallway but because of my demon senses I could see everything almost perfectly. But because I was feeling a bit tired due to all the work I had to do today it was all slightly blurry and I walked into a table at least twice on my way to the library. My left hand opened the door to the library and my right hand flicked the switch to turn on the lights. More importantly as I walked into the room I shut and locked the door behind me. I didn't want certain servants to walk in on me as I `talk' to Sesshoumaru. My address book, as Rin said, was lying right on top of my desk and it was opened to the page where Sesshoumaru's information was. This was going to be a ball. I picked up the desk phone and collapsed into the leather easy chair in front of the desk.

`This had better be good,' He hissed when he picked up.

“It's better then good Milord,” I said sarcastically, “It's fantastic. My mother didn't listen to me and told Kurama everything she knew about the Shikon no Tama, just not the part about the traveling in time.”

`So in other words you screwed up?'

“Haha, don't make me laugh Fluffy,” I hissed, “I'm the one who's going to take the fallout of this not you. I doubt even the great `Lord of the West' will be able to safe me from what's going to happen.”

He growled, `My name is Sesshoumaru, not Fluffy and you'll do well to remember that.'

“Of course Fluffy,” I said with a smile.

He growled again but said nothing of that matter, `I'll do everything in my power to stop this fallout, you say, from occurring.'

“Sure thing Fluffy and if by the end of this I still have my head and am living in my mansion then remind me to thank you.”

`I'll be happy if you stop calling me Fluffy at the end of this,' he muttered before he hung up on me.

“Oh that will never happen, it's way to fun,” I said aloud as I put the phone back in the cradle.

So how many people hate me? I know the update was months in coming. I just hope everything that happened in here makes you forgive me? Is that too much to ask?

-Sighs- I thought so.

Another thing, don't look for another update for awhile. I have this stupid state-wide test at the end of May and since I'm failing Math, which is what the test is on, I need to study a lot.

P.S. Thank you for all the reviews.

Edited April 24, 2006...
I forgot the grandfather passed on two years ago so in this chapter where Kurama goes to the Higurashi Shrine I had the Grandfather talk to Kurama but thank god there are reviewers out there that remember what I write, when I don't. That mistake is fixed, to the best that I could fix it. If you catch any mistakes in that part where it should be 'she' not 'he' please inform me and I'll try to fix it. Thank You.
