Warning: This Fanfic is just off the top of my little brain… so it may take longer to update.. so for now.. im not sure what will come to grace her pages… but for now… I am thinking of some dark material.. so you are warned!

CH1: ~a Mothers Undying Love

 

 

Kagome trembled as she slowly brought her hand up to her mouth.. wiping away the thin line of crimson that had been dripping down her chin….

 

Her hand trailing over the wall behind her.. gripping it she pulled herself up…

 

this isn't good… Kimi will be home soon… I have to stop this…-

 

Kagome turned her cold gray eyes up towards the demon in front of her… “ so.. you want the Jewel… not now.. not ever!” she screamed as she pushed herself off the wall… taking a fighting stance … her legs wobbling unsurely under the pressure…

 

She let her eyes close as her aura spread out.. searching for some way she could win this… but to no avail…

 

The demon smiled at her wickedly … he moved his big black body sharply… his voice coming out cold and raspy.. like nails against a mirror… “ your threats mean nothing.. Miko… you are broken… you will watch as I take the jewel.. and bath my claws in your daughters blood” his smirk grew.. showing off his pointed yellow fangs..

 

 

Kagome's eyes widened in fear…. - no!.. nnooo!.. he cant.. Kimi is all I have left… he wont touch her!-

 

Kagome clenched her fist… her eyes narrowing.. promising death.

 

The demon's smiled grew wilder still… “ did I hit a nerve?” he chuckled evilly… flexing his long claws… “ I've had enough of this discussion..”

 

His face turned cold as a pair of huge bat like wings appeared on his back.. “ now you die.. my broken priestess” he flew at her.. his claws out stretched… glistening in the sunlight … her blood already staining them from earlier…

 

Kagome barely made it in time as she jumped out of the way… she came tumbling down to the cold stone ground clutching her shoulder….

 

The demon smirked as he licked her fresh blood from his hand…. He stopped and turned his head to the front of the shrine…

 

Kagome followed his gaze… her mouth falling open when she saw what had caught his attention… “ Kimi….. run!” she screamed as she tried to stand up again…

 

The demon's smirk returned and in a flash he was behind the young girl… “ well well… I have been waiting to meet you my little beauty …” he hissed as he wrapped one arm around her neck…

 

Kimi didn't move… all she could do was look.. look at her mother.. and all the pain she was in… “Ma ma?” she whispered…

 

Kagome walked a bit closer to the demon holding her daughter… “ put her down… she has nothing to do with this….” Her eyes held a plea… that would never be answered…

 

The demon smirked and ran one of his razor sharp claws down the young girls cheek.. making her wince…. Blood now pouring out of her small gashs..

 

That's when Kagome lost it…. Her gaze turning purple… “ you wont hurt her!” she screamed as her body went ridged energy flying around her… with the threat of expanding.

 

The demon hissed lowly.. his claws digging into Kimi's back.. making her scream out… he threw her to the side.. his claws making deep gashes across the soft skin of her back……

 

Kagome watched.. her body now trembling with anger and fear for her only child… “aaahhhhh” she screamed in release as all of her mounting Miko energy flew at him… wrapping around him…

 

The Demon screeched in pain as pieces of his skin started to melt away as they were purified from existence…

 

 

Kimi shielded her eyes…. As the demon vanished.. leaving behind a huge mess of gore…

 

She watched as her mother collapsed to the ground…

 

Kimi got up and ran to her mother.. ignoring her own pain..

 

“Mom?” she whispered… her voice barely working…

 

Kagome smiled sadly up at her daughter.. as she patted the ground next to her…

 

Kimi watched… but slowly sank down to the ground.. “ mom.. I.. I”

 

Kagome smiled weakly… then cut her off “ ssshhh… Its ok Kimi…” she closed her eyes.. then opened them again.. they now were filled with tears…

 

Kimi gasped… “ im sorry… I couldn't move.. when he grabbed me.. I.. I couldn't stop him..” she let her hand fall down to her side…

 

Kagome sighed “ its fine… that's perfectly normal… I just want you to know..” Kagome trailed off as she started to cough…

 

Kimi leaned forward looking over her mother , concern in her face…

 

Kagome waved her away.. “ I just want you to know… that you were never a disappointment.. I am so proud of you Kimi… and you need to promise me two things…” she looked deep into her eyes… “please”

 

Kimi nodded tears flowing down her face… “ yes mom.. anything…”

 

“ please burn the jewel with my body.. after I die… and the other thing.. you must… must… call your aunt.. my brothers widow… she is a good woman.. she will help you… she will love you” she looked up at Kimi.. her heart breaking… as her last breathe grew closer…

 

Kimi let more tears spill down her face… her hand finding and holding her mothers hand tight… “ yes.. I will” she cried.. as her mother looked away

 

Kimi crawled down closer to her mother… she sighed as she pulled her mothers head up into her lap… “ do you remember when I was five… and I told you I hated you.. and I wanted you to go away?” she asked quietly as she looked down at her mothers face… more tears welling up and spilling over… she turned her face up to the sky…

 

“I never meant it … you are my best friend… I could never be ashamed of you.. or hate you.. im sorry.. for being mean.. im so sorry.. I love you mom” she let her head fall forward as more tears spilt out of her … she clenched her eyes shut tightly …

 

She heaved sobs as she felt her mother give her hand one last squeeze before her hand went limp in hers…

 

“ im so sorry”

Kimi lay there hours later.. her body wrapped firmly around her mothers… thinking… about nothing really.. but just being there…

 

She ran her fingers through her mothers long dark hair… she smiled.. remembering how much she had wanted her mothers hair when she was little… that she was mad.. for being different… for having blonde hair… like no one else.. like only her father..

 

She had blamed her father… she had loved him so much when she was a small girl.. but then.. one day he had left and never come home… he heart went out to him now… was this how he had felt before he had died… alone.. and different…

 

Kimi smiled thinking of all the story's that her mother had told her in her 16 years of life … of her first love… who had chosen the dead over her… and how she had met her father …

 

She curled tighter into a ball… “ no.. it cant be true.. you aren't gone.. you aren't”… she whispered as tears ran down her still sticky cheeks..

 

She lay there for more hours.. so many that she lost count… before she pulled herself from her mothers body…

 

She sat on the bench under the god tree.. praying.. “ what do I do now.. please.. tell me”

 

She glanced over at her mother's body again.. and a sense of guilt ran through her.. could she do it.. could she burn her mothers body… no.

 

Kimi sighed as she walked into he shed and pulled out a shovel …

 

About 2 hours later she climbed her way out of the gave that she had been working on..

 

She walked silently over to her mothers body… she slowly picked her up… all those training sessions with her mother had paid off… a pang of tears over whelmed her at the thought of never getting to do that again…

 

She wiped it away as she gently set her mothers body into the small grave… she hardened her face as she started to shovel dirt into it…

 

She threw the shovel to the side when she was done.. she walked over to a small rose bush and pulled 3 red roses away…

 

She let more tears roll down her cheeks as she set them on the grave…

 

She closed her eyes.. trying to fight away the pain as a soft whistling caught her attention… - whats that?-

 

She looked up just as a small purple light shot up and out of the grave…. Then floated over to her…

 

Kimi gasped then held out her hand… “ the sacred Jewel?”

 

The jewel glowed a deep pink as if to answer her…

 

Kimi slipped the silver necklace over her head…. As she walked inside her house…

 

She picked up the phone as if in a trance… dialing her aunts number…

 

“Hello… Aunty Lita… its me Kimi… I need some help”

Her mind slowly wondered to the 3 small roses.. 1 for her loss… 2 for her pain… and 3 for the undying love of a mother…

 

A/N: ok… sorry for the cliffy.. but ya know how it is.. now I just want it known that not all chapters will be this dark…. I just wanted it known why Kimi is on her own… and why she feels the way she does.. now the Yu Yu gang will come in in the next chapter.. but I wont update it until I get at least 3 reviews… now flames are not tolerated.. but reviews.. are greatly appreciated …so if you like it.. just click right down there and let me know.. thx again r&r ^_~
