-Chapter four: Enter the baka Okinawa-

Kagome tilted her head up toward the sky, taking a deep breath as the wind played with her long violet locks. She smiled and sighed deeply, enjoying the peaceful moment while it lasted. She sat down Indian style at the edge of the cliff, overlooking the Koumori village. She closed her eyes and fell backwards, arms laying motionless by her sides.

Hearing the familiar sound of wings flapping, she sighed again. Maybe if she ignored him he would go away? She stilled as his aura descended down beside her, trying to even out her breathing.

"Kagome."

'No. Im not listening.' her mind muttered stubbornly.

Reimei sighed, flipping back his long blue hair, he nudged Kagome's still form with a foot. "Kagome. Get up, now."

'La la la, im not giving i-' her mental voice was cut short when something small and hard hit her in the head. She growled deeply when another small object nailed her again in the cheek.

Reimei chuckled, grabbing another acorn he launched a full attack on Kagomes person. A grin broke out across his face when he saw her apple green eyes glaring harshly at him.

"What?" He shrugged, smirking at her disheveled look. "I told you to get up, not my fault you won't listen."

Kagome sat up and grabbed a fallen acorn by her side. She threw it and grinned evilly when it hit Reimei in the forehead. He mock gasped and brought a hand to his heart.

"How rude." He said, a cute pout forming on his lips. Kagome was not swayed by his antics and brought her hand up and flipped him a rude gesture, something she had learned for a foreigner a ways back.

Reimei gaped at her smug look. "Does your father know you do that?" he asked, sitting down beside her.

"No." She chirped, smiling up at him. Even sitting down he still was a few inches taller than herself.

"Aren't you proud that I have kept it from him for so long?"

"No."Kagome snorted, rolling her eyes she fiddled with the grace blades in front of her. "So? What did you come here for? I thought I told you and dad both not to bother me, or do you crave me so much you just had to come and see me?"

His face lost the playful grin, a solemn look crossed his red eyes. "No. Though I do enjoy your company immensely, that is not why I came. Your father sent me to fetch you."

Kagome saw the look and was instantly worried. "What is it? Is something wrong, is dad hurt?!" she was hysterical, tears already coming into play with the thoughts swimming inside her head.

Reimei's eyes widened. "No!" He waved his hands frantically, trying to calm Kagome down. "No, your father is fine! But one of the village elders had gone sick."

A confused look came upon Kagome's face. "Elders? Why would I care about one of them? They all hate me."

"Yes, all but Anraku." He reminded her.

Kagome gasped, "Anraku is sick?! When-? Wha-? HOW?!"

Reimei shook his head and grasped Kagome by the shoulders. "Calm down, Kagome!" His chest tightened when he saw tears trailing down her porcelain cheeks. He pulled her into an embrace, rubbing her back in soothing circles. "She confessed that she had been sick for awhile, but kept it a secret. Kenkou doesn't know what's wrong yet, but he has given her some herbs to pull her fever down. She asking for you, Kags."

Kagome nodded her head, sniffing, she pulled back. She looked back hopelessly at the village. Anraku was the only one in the village--save for her father, Reimei and the children she grew up with--that liked her, or treated her as an equal. They talked all the time when she was a child, and Anraku always helped with her problems, she even had taken to calling her Grandma. Now that she was sick, Kagome would see to it that she got better.

Standing up abruptly, she spread her purple leather wings and took flight, her destination : The Main house to find Anraku.
______________________________________________________________< br> Kagome folded her wings to her back as she walked the hallways, searching for Anraku's scent. The smell of cherry blossoms, rain and medical herbs led her to the end of the hall. She placed her hand on the shoji, and pushed it open. immediately, all eyes were on her. Her brows knitted at the unfamiliar faces. Brushing them off, she flew to Anraku's side.

"Kagome," Anraku said, her violet eyes happy at the fact that Kagome came."you came."

Kagome snorted, leaning down to give her an awkward hug she murmured, "Of course I came." She pulled back and wiggled a finger at Anraku. "Why didn't you tell anyone? That's VERY irresponsible!" She scolded, then scowled as her grandmothers eyes took on and amused light.

Anraku batted the offending finger away. Sitting up--with unavoidable help from kagome--she gestured to the two silent demons against the wall. "Kagome," She started. "This is my son, and his friend." She coughed out, sweat forming on her brow.

Kagome forced her back down, telling her to rest. She turned her attention back to the two demons. She bowed slightly, "Well, I'm Kagome, as you must know." She said as she straightened. One youkai stepped forward, and she almost sighed at his beauty. He was a kitsune youkai, he had long, silver hair that ended at his lower back. His golden eyes twinkled in humor, obviously he knew he was hot. Her eyes shot up to his dog-like ears when one twitched.

He bowed low, and grasped her hand in his. She raised an eyebrow.

"It is a pleasure to meet someone so beautiful. My name is Youko Kurama, and that stubborn youkai over there is Kuronue." He winked at her and dropped her hand, resuming his place beside the one called Kuronue.

Kagome blinked, and pulled back her hand to her lap. "O-okay." She squeaked out, then glared at Anraku when she snorted in amusement. She quickly ignored the scowling bat youkai and turned her attention back to her 'grandmother'. "Is there anything I can do to help, grandmother?"

Kuronue stood, his arms crossed over his chest, his wings twitching in annoyance. "Grandmother?" he asked, confused.

Kagome rolled her eyes at him. "Yes, 'grandmother'. That's what she is to me." She narrowed her eyes, she didn't like his attitude. She wouldn't back down from the glare that her was shooting her way. "Got a problem with that, Okinawa?"

Youko and Anraku grinned, this would be interesting.

Kuronue dropped his arms, fisting them at his side, and glared hotly at the smug bat demon. "I'm not a fruit bat!" He yelled, pointing a finger at his mother. "Why do you allow her to call you that? Something so familiar?"

Kagome stood, his purple eyes shot to her. She walked up to him and glared up at him. He was really handsome, she noticed. He had shiny black hair, pulled up in a high ponytail. His light violet eyes shining in slight amusement, his black leather wings still fluttering in annoyance. By the Gods he was hot. Kagome wanted to melt, and by the look in his eyes, he knew it too. Shaking her head from naughty thoughts, she resumed her glare.

"Don't talk to your mother like that, you baka okinawa!"

"I'm not a fruit bat!"

"Baka okinawa!"

"Dammit, stop calling me that!"

Kagome turned up her nose and crossed her arms. "Ba-ka oki-nawa." she stated slowly.

He growled and was ready to pounce until someone cleared there throat.

"Kuronue..." His mother scolded him. Kagome looked smug. "You to Kagome."

Kagome pouted and 'Humph'ed and sat down by Anraku and Kuronue did the same. Kagome sighed and bent down to place a kiss on Anraku's forehead.

"Gomen nasei, Anraku-sama, but I must go now. I'll come back later, when the baka okinawa is gone." She murmured against her forehead. Anraku's chest vibrated with her chuckles.

"Must you go, kagome?" she asked, her voice tired and worn.

Kagome giggled. "No, not really. But I need to be a good mile or two away from the village if I don't want daddy to find me." She winked. "He wants me to go fetch some herbs for him, but he's getting lazy in his old age. Let him do it!" She smiled when Anraku and Youko broke into laughter.

After Anraku calmed, she nodded her head. "Don't get into trouble. Your more troublesome then a baby kitsune." Youko looked offended.

"Hey!"

Kagome waved her off and stood, bushing off her black kimono. "Keh! I'm highly indestructible!"

"That's what you said before you tripped on that rock when you were 10 and sprained you ankle." Anraku murmured.

"Sorry, I didnt catch that! I'll see ya later, grandma. Nice meeting you Youko...okinawa." Kagome threw over her shoulder as she stepped out of the room, and closed the shoji. She smiled when she heard a--

"Dammit! I told you not to call me that!"

___________________________________________________________

Kagome ran through the forest at top speed, her hair flapping behind and all around her. She felt Reimei's aura following her so she sped up, she felt like giving chase today. That damn okinawa dug up some weird feelings in her, and she didn't like that.

Not one bit.

She hadn't felt the flutter of stomach butterfly's since she was 10 and she had a crush on Reimei. Kagome scoffed and pushed faster. No way in hell did she feel that way about that baka koumori. She skidded to a halt when she reached the same cliff she was at before Reimei came and got her. She smirked when she felt Reimei's warn out aura stop beside her.

"Kami Kagome!" He panted out, as he flopped down on to the ground. "Did ya have to run so fast?"Kagome gracefully sat beside him. Folding her arms in her kimono sleeves she shook her head. "My, my Reimei. Seems like you also are getting lazy in your old age, much like father"

"Hey!"

Kagome ignored him and looked up at the already darkening sky. "You took years off my life." She muttered.

Reimei raised a confused eyebrow. "How the hell did I do that?"

"When you told me about Anraku-sama. You scared me."

Reimei let out a barely audible sigh. "Sorry." He mumbled wrapping an arm around Kagomes shoulders.

"`S'okay." She said, tilting her head to rest on his shoulders.

They sat in a comfortable silence for a while until-

"Soo..." Reimei slowly, amusement dripping from his words. "what's this I hear about the...ohh, what was it? Ahh, yes, a 'okinawa' did you called him? Tsk tsk, Kagome. Didn't your father teach you any manners?"

"Yes, but you were always around to knock them from my memory with your stupidity."
