Training Begins (Chapter 2)

 

 

Kagome woke up right before her alarm clock went off. Today was the day she would start her training with Genkai, and hopefully learn how to better control her Miko powers. She was feeling more excitement today, than she has felt since she finally came back home for good. Kagome turned off her alarm clock before it went off and started getting ready to leave. She showered and changed, then packed the clothes that she would change into after school, as well as another uniform for school. Kagome sighed. How I wish I could just miss school. But I've missed too much and am so very behind. She thought to herself.

 

*Hiei are you out there?* Kagome asked

 

*Hn.*

 

*When did you get back?*

 

*I never left.*

 

*What?!?!* She was shocked now.

 

*You didn't have to stay.*

 

*Hn*

 

Kagome smirked at this. Once she finished packing she quickly wrote a quick note to her mom with Genkai's phone number and address.

 

*Hiei will I see you at Genkai's today?*

 

There was a pause, then *I will be there.*

 

“Mom! I'm leaving already. I left the information you wanted on the table. I'll talk to you later.” Kagome yelled as she ran out the door towards school.

 

Mrs. Higurashi went into the kitchen and picked up the note. Hmm. I hope Kagome doesn't mind if I give Genkai a call. I want to know more about this woman. She then picked up the phone and dialed Genkai's number.

 

“Hello.” A grumpy voice answered after the third ring.

 

“Uh. Hello, may I please speak with Miss Genkai?” Mrs. Higurashi asked.

 

“Speaking, who's this?”

 

“This is Kun-loon Higurashi, Kagome's mother. I was wondering if I could meet with you today before Kagome gets out of school.”

 

“That's fine Mrs. Higurashi, you can meet me here for lunch, say about noon.” Genkai answered her.

 

“Thank you?” Mrs. Higurashi said gratefully, then proceeded to get ready to meet this Genkai, that may be good for her daughter.

 

*Hiei, Why are you following me?* Kagome asked.

 

*Hn, who says I'm following you?*

 

*Well seeing as how I'm on my way to school and you don't attend school, well, figure it out.*

 

*Hn, I'm just curious.* Hiei finally said. *Who trained you in your fighting skills?*

 

*Sorry Hiei, but that is a secret.* Kagome felt Hiei gently trying to get through her mental barriers without alerting her of his presence. When will he learn, he can't get through. Hmm. Maybe I'll teach him a lesson. Kagome suddenly dropped her barriers and started picturing something that would traumatize a certain annoying Youkai. She pictured very old senile men in Speedos making kissing faces at Hiei and trying to hug him and make out with him. Poor demon didn't know what hit him. He was midair when that picture came to his mind suddenly. See he was jumping from tree to tree keeping up with Kagome. This thought so traumatized him that he just fell straight to the ground in shock. It took him several minutes before he was able to compose himself. By that time Kagome was long gone. Well done Miko. You win this time, but I'll get even, just you wait. Hiei said then smirked as he started thinking of ways to get even with this young woman, and proceeded to her school. Just because she was well trained in fighting doesn't mean that she would be able to protect herself against everything.

 

Kagome had to swallow her laughter as she saw Hiei fall. Oh dear, maybe I went to far with that mental image…. Then mentally shook her head. Nahhhhh.. Damn Youkai was trying to get behind my barriers. He deserved it. Hmm. I wonder what other images can affect him like that. She then looked at her watched and saw that if she didn't hurry she'd be later for class. Bye Hiei, hope you recover soon. Kagome thought to herself. What she never would have guessed was that a certain ice/fire youkai would eventually end up at her school, then proceed to get even with her for that little trick.

 

Hiei got called in for a mission, which put his plans of revenge for Miko on hold. When he finally arrived at Koenma's office, it was to see Yusuke arguing with the toddler, and complaining that Keiko was going to kill him for skipping school. Hiei smirked at the sight of one of the Maikai's most feared and most hated human scared of a regular ningen onna. Kuwabara was standing against the wall with a glazed look in his eyes.

 

I wonder what that baka moron is thinking of. Hiei wondered and slipped into his mind only to see Kuwabara singing something about kitties while dancing around the many different types of cats. What a moron.

 

*Hiei, do you know why we've been summoned?* Kurama asks as he slips into the room.

 

*No, the toddler has yet to inform us.* He answered back.

 

*I see Yusuke and the toddler are at it again.* Kurama said exasperatedly as he took notice of the arguing pair.

 

*Really fox. I never would have guessed.* Hiei said sarcastically.

 

“Prince Koenma,” Kurama interrupted the bickering pair. “Why have you summoned us?” He finally asked.

 

Koenma drew a deep breath and strived for patience. For some reason Yusuke always was able to get him riled up. “The reason I have called you here is because I want one of you to volunteer for a case. There are have been strange energy reading at this Shrine for the past two years. The shrine is the Higurashi shrine, and I need to know what is the cause of the energy readings.” Koenma stated.

 

Before anyone could ask questions or volunteer, Hiei spoke surprising everyone in the room. “I'll do it.” He said stoically.

 

“Now Hiei, there is to be no killing, I just want you to observe and report back to me.” Koenma said nervously.

 

“Hn.”

 

*Hiei are you feeling well?* Kurama asked.

 

*Just bored fox.* Hiei stated calmly.

 

*If its relief you want, I can help you with that.* A new voice masculine voice interrupted the pair.

 

*Youko!.* Kurama exclaimed to his other half.

 

*Shut him up fox.* Hiei said annoyed.

 

*Come on Hiei, it would be so much fun.* Youko said seductively.

 

*Please forgive my counterpart Hiei, he is just bored.* Kurama asked Hiei.

 

*Well I wouldn't be so BORED if you would let me out more often.* Youko complained.

 

*Youko, I would be more than willing to let you out more if I could get your promise to keep my virginity `intact'.* Kurama said patiently.

 

*You are no fun. What do you need with that anyways. What did I ever do to deserve a prude as a host.* Youko whined.

 

*Well Youko if you need me to inform you of all of your past crimes, then neither of us will get any rest for at least a year.* Kurama said dryly.

 

*Great, just great, a prude as well as a goody goody.* Youko complained.

 

Hiei always was amused when he would listen to the fox argue with his counterpart. As long as they left him alone. While the fox was arguing with himself, Yusuke and Kuwabara had already left.

 

*Fox are you just going to stay there arguing with yourself all day?* Hiei asked. Bringing Kurama back to what was going on around him.

 

*Thanks Hiei.* Kurama said.

 

“If that's all we'll be taking our leave.” Kurama stated. While Hiei disappeared. Leaving Koenma alone to wonder if he made a mistake or not by letting Hiei have this case. If anything happens to this girl Sango and Miroku would kill him. As well as the Lords of the Makai. That is assuming that this is girl the right girl.

 

Wow, there are lot more steps here than at my shrine. Kagome why didn't you at least warn me about them. Mrs. Higurashi thought to herself. She paused at the tops of the stairs getting some much need rest before she proceeded to the door. Once she reached the door she knocked and waited for someone to answer. I hope this Genkai can help me with my baby.

 

Yukina had been anticipating the arrival of Kagome's mother, and seeing as how she already feels as if Kagome is one of her friends, she wants her mother to like both her and Genkai. She had not yet told Genkai, but for some reason Kagome's aura seemed to calm her. It was like being washed with something peaceful and pure, which was strange since the girl is a Miko. Instead of feeling calm and somewhat peaceful around her, she should be feeling somewhat uncomfortable. So when she heard the knock on the door she hurried as fast as she could without actually running to answer the door.

 

“Hello, Mrs. Higurashi?” Yukina asked the tired looking woman standing outside the door.

 

“Yes, you must be Yukina, Kagome has told me so much about you.” Mrs. Higurashi said while smiling kindly and the blue haired woman.

 

“Come this way Genkai is waiting.” Yukina said kindly. Please, oh please let her like us. Yukina thought nervously.

 

Yukina led Mrs. Higurashi in the living room, which Genkai kept hidden from her dimwit. Yukina once asked why she kept this room hidden from the others and Genkai responded: If that dimwit were to discover that I have a normal living room with a television, I wouldn't be able to get any decent training out of him.

 

“Hello Mrs. Higurashi, please have a seat.” Genkai said.

 

“Thank you.” Mrs. Higurashi said and she sat down on a recliner next to the sofa in which Genkai was sitted on. Yukina sat on the other side of the sofa next to Genkai.

 

“Would you like some tea?” Genkai offered.

 

“Yes that would be great.” Mrs. Higurashi responded with a smile.

 

After they were all situated and drinking their tea. The talking finally began. Genkai was curious as to whether or not this woman was aware of her daughter's special abilities, while Mrs. Higurashi was curious as to how Genkai knows about demons. Yukina was left to wonder as to who would speak first breaking the silence. Finally, one of them caved in.

 

“Genkai, I really must ask this.” Mrs. Higurashi said with a sigh. “But are you sure you can help my daughter control her `abilities'?”

 

“Yes, Mrs. Higurashi. Even though my abilities are somewhat different from hers, I believe I can help her control them.” Genkai responded.

 

“Please call me Kun-loon.”

 

“Very well. Kun-loon, I must know, how much do you know about your daughter's abilities.” Genkai asked evenly.

 

“Honestly? Not very much, I am saddened to say. Even though I live at a shrine, much has been lost over time. I know my daughter has strong spiritual powers and is a Miko, but she is unable to control them.”

 

“Kun-loon, do you believe in the existence of demons.” Genkai asked bluntly. She wanted to know exactly how much this person knows.

 

Mrs. Higurashi didn't even bat an eyelash. She just gave Genkai an apprasing look. “Yes, I do believe in the existence of demons, I just didn't know that any existed in this time. I do live in a shrine after all.”

 

“Kun-loon I am going to be blunt. I would like to know what exactly you know about Demon's.” Genkai asked.

 

“Sorry Genkai, but I really don't know very much about demon's. I do know that once, a long time ago, demons existed and lived among us. But I did not know that any survived to this time. I also know that Yukina is a demon, as well as someone named Hiei.” Mrs. Higurashi finally replied.

 

“Now Genkai, I believe it is my turn to be blunt. I want to know how you can help my daughter. She has been suffering from depression lately. It seems as if nothing my family nor I have done could get her out of it. Yet, one visit with you and she seems more like the daughter I once knew. It was almost like my old Kagome was back last night. I want to know what this training entails. You do not have to get into all the specific, just a brief summary of what will required of her will do.” Mrs. Higurashi stated.

 

“The training will mainly involve her learning how to use her spiritual energy. This training will not be easy and will more than likely involve her having to stay the night on many occasions. Since she adamantly refuses to miss school, her training sessions will last longer than usual to make up for lost time. I do not tolerate slackers, so her training will be both tiring and exhausting. But you will be able to see results. I will teach her to strain her limits.” Genai said bluntly.

 

Mrs. Higurashi thought about what Genkai just said. So technically my daughter will be living at this place. I really do not want to suggest this, seeing as how I just got my baby back, but she will be closer to home. A change may actually do her more good. That and her friends from school can't seem to cheer her up either. Instead she seems to be avoiding them.

 

“Genkai, I have a suggestion to make. This is not an easy choice for me to make. But Kagome will be close to home and I would still get to see her.” Mrs. Higurashi paused and drew in a deep breath. “I think it may be better if she were to stay with you. For all intents and purposes, even is she were to stay with me, she would basically be living here anyways. Besides I believe a change may do her good.”

 

“Kun-loon, I think that is a good idea. You and the rest of her family are always welcomed to come and visit her. Now there is a school that is closer to my shrine than the one she is currently attending. Would it be alright to transfer her. Since, you think a change may be good for her, I do not see why not make it a complete change.” Genkai offered.

 

“Very well, I will go to her school and start making preparations for her to start her start her new school tomorrow. Don't get me wrong Genkai, I don't want to separate from her, I just want my daughter back. If this is what it takes, then I'll gladly do it.”

 

“Don't worry, I will look after your daughter. That is not something I take lightly. I too will start making preparations for her to start her new school tomorrow. By the time Kagome gets here, everything should be settled.” Genkai said.

 

“Thank you. Well I better get going if I want to get everything in order today. I'll pack a few of Kagome's things and drop them off later. Good bye.”

 

“Good bye, Mrs. Higurashi. I will see you later.” Genkai said.

 

Mrs. Higurashi then left the shrine and started getting everything ready for Kagome to live at Genkai's for now. She really was not looking forward to Kagome moving away, but she had a feeling that this would be for the best. Besides, Genkai did say that they could always visit Kagome.

 

Hiei finally made to Kagome's school. It was now after lunch and Kagome was now in History class listening to the teacher go on an on about Feudal Japan. Since Kagome had experienced this first hand, she found that she had to restrain herself from correcting the teacher on several misconceptions and dates. So it was with some surprise when an image of the teacher wearing only his underclothes so surprised Kagome that she almost jumped out of her desk. YUCK!!! Kagome thought. The teacher was in his mid forties, heavy set and balding. Not to say the least, he always reminded Kagome of a toad. She had just got over that mental image when she was struck by another one. This image was of the teacher wearing only a thong chasing her and professing his love. This image made Kagome want to gag. What is with me? Why am I even imagining such, such, YUCK!! Okay Kagome, think nice thoughts, think nice thoughts. And proceeded to think of roses and the wonderful smell they give off, only to get hit with another image. Her thoughts were rudely pushed to the side as she was struck with the image of her teacher making kissy faces at her. Those lips puckering up like a fish and wanting to kiss `her'.

 

This is just too much, what is going on here!!!! Kagome thought desperately. Then suddenly she felt an all to familiar aura near her. Just because the fire/ice demon couldn't read her mind, didn't mean that he couldn't project images or ideas to her.

 

*Hiei.* Kagome said in a warning tone of voice. *Are you the reason I keep getting these disgusting images?* She growled out.

 

*Hn. I don't know what you mean onna.* Hiei said innocently. Well as innocently as possible for one who doesn't like to show emotions, which was to say he wasn't very good at it. His tone clearly showed amusement.

 

*Hiei.* Kagome said sweetly. Which really should have warned the poor youkai. *Down!* And surprisingly enough there was a loud thump heard outside of the window. Kagome smirked at the sound.

 

*Damn, onna. What was that for?* Hiei asked angrily while waiting for the spell to wear off.

 

*Revenge.* Kagome said sweetly. *One image, I could have handled. I could even have admitted that I deserved it. Two, I might have let it go. But three is over board. Now you pay.*

 

And thus a war over much hilarious mental images ensured throughout the day between the Miko and youkai. To say the least, some of those images were so hilarious that even the ever stoic youkai was tempted to laugh over it.

 

When classes were officially over and it was time to start heading to Genkai's, Kagome was in such a good mood. She was actually smiling a genuine smile for the first time in days. So it came with much surprise when she heard her name being called by more than one person.

 

“Kagome!” First feminine voice called out.

 

“Kagome, wait up.” Another said.

 

“Hey, Kagome!!” The third female voice called out. Followed by a more boyish voice.

 

“Kagome, I've been looking for you all day.” This voice said as soon as they all caught up to her.

 

Hiei was thanking his lucky stars that these ningens didn't even know he was there. They were so annoying.

 

“Oh, hello Yuka, Eri, Ayumi, Hojo.” Kagome said with fake cheerfulness.

 

*Hiei, help me please.* Kagome said with desperation clearly evident in her voice.

 

*Hn. Why should I?* He asked curiously. With the underlying question `What's in it for me?' clearly showing through his tone.

 

*Uuhhhhhhhh, I know I'll bake you a cake.* Kagome said trying to temp him with sweets. It always worked with Shippo.

 

*What else?* Hiei asks. Only for Kagome to suddenly get distracted.

 

“Kagome are you feeling okay. You look spaced out. Don't tell me your having another dizzy spell.” Yuka asked.

 

“Kagome don't tell me your two-timing boyfriend got you pregnant?” Ayumi asked in a threatening tone.

 

“What!” Kagome asked in shock. *Kami help me Hiei. I beg of you.* Kagome asked desperately.

 

“Kagome,” Hojo started, only to grab her hands with his and go down on one knee, “Would you do me the honor of becoming my wife?”

 

*Hn. Why should I it just got interesting.* Hiei said.

 

*Hiei!!* Kagome said warningly, then started projecting images of Hiei making a crater into the ground.

 

Hiei winced at this, but stood his ground. *Only if you declare me the winner.* Hiei demanded, wanting to best Kagome in at least something.

 

*What!!!!! NO, I refuse, I so clearly won.* Kagome said stubbornly.

 

“Hojo, that's not necessary.” Kagome said with a nervous giggle trying to get her hands back. “I'm not pregnant. I…I mean I never did `THAT'!” She finally stumbled out.

 

“Oh.” Hojo said disappointedly. “If you ever need help, just let me know.” He finally said while releasing her hands.

 

Kagome was then suddenly struck with a new mental image. This one was the worst. It was of Hojo wearing a white wedding dress holding a bouquet of flowers while her three friends had her tied up and forcing her to marry Hojo or else. Scary. Then immediately following that came the image of Hojo wearing lingerie. EEEEEEEEewwwwwwwww!! Gross. Hojo was wearing black garters with black thigh highs with fishnet design. Black high heels and a black bra. To complete the outfit he was also wearing a long black silk robe and his arms were reaching out to her. At this point Kagome was starting to go quite pale.

 

“Kagome are you feeling well. You're looking quite pale, Perhaps we should help you get home.” Eri finally suggested.

 

“Oh no Eri, I'm fine. I just need to rest a little.” Kagome said with a wan smile.

 

*Hiei, no fair. So unfair.*

 

“Kagome, maybe I should carry you home today.” Hojo offered.

 

“Yes Hojo, that's sounds like a wonderful idea, doesn't it girls.” Ayumi said.

 

“So romantic.” Yuka said, with stars in her eyes.

 

Kagome was starting to get desperate. Sensing this Hiei made his final attack. Mental image of a tied up Kagome while her friends were locking her up in a room with the lingerie dressed Hojo.

 

*Are you sure you won't admit defeat.* Hiei asked.

 

*Fine, fine no more.* Kagome said desperately. *You win. Now help me.*

 

“No need. I can see my sister home.” Hiei suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

 

“Sister!” All three girls yelled.

 

“Kagome, since when did you get another brother?” Ayumi asked.

 

“Honorary brother.” Hiei said. Which confused the three girls along with a disappointed Hojo.

 

“Hiei is like an older, over protective, arrogant brother.” Kagome said. “He's taking me to Grandma's house today. I am staying at her house for the night.” Kagome said and motioned to her extra bag.

 

*Grandma?* Hiei asked.

 

*Genkai, she told Eri and Hojo yesterday, that she is my Honorary Grandmother.*

 

*Hn.*

 

“We have better leave now Kagome or Grandmother will be cross. Good bye. Now leave.” Hiei said, while giving them an evil glare.

 

The four their saw the look in Hiei's eyes and swallowed deeply before quickly bidding Kagome a farewell and making their exits.

 

“Cowards.” Hiei said.

 

“They mean well.” Kagome tried to defend them, just a little.

 

*Hn. Let's go. We're running late.* Hiei said. And they quickly made their way to Genkai's.

 

When they finally arrived at Genkai's, Kagome saw her mother sitting in the living drinking tea with Genkai.

 

“Mom, what are you doing here.” Kagome asked confused.

 

“Kagome, we need to have a talk.” Mrs. Higurashi said. “Would you please sit down.”

 

Kagome sat down on one of the sofa's and looked towards a calm Genkai and a nervous Yukina. *Hiei, do you know what is going on?* Kagome asked.

 

*Not a clue onna.* Hiei responded.

 

Kagome was so nervous about what her mother had to tell her, she didn't notice that Hiei called her onna.

 

“Now Kagome, I have talking to Genkai about what might be better for you. In the day that you have known Genkai, I have been able to see glimpses of my old Kagome. Which is why I think it may be best for you to stay here at Genkai's for the time being. Genkai has assured me that we may visit you whenever we wished. And on the days when Genkai has given you leave to rest, she will allow you to come and see us. But Kagome, this is completely up to you. If you don't wish to live here, you don't have to. I just want what is best for you.” Mrs. Higurashi told her daughter.

 

Kagome was stunned. At first she thought that her mother probably didn't want her anymore. But one look into her mother's eyes, she was able to see that her mother didn't want to let her go, but was willing to because she believed this may be what she needed. “Would I be transferring school also?” Kagome asked.

 

“Yes, I have already taken you out of your old school, and Genkai has already registered you into your new one.” Mrs. Higurashi said.

 

“So what your telling me is, if I decide to move in with Genkai, I will start a new school tomorrow, but if I don't want to I don't have to?” Kagome asked.

 

“Quite so. It's up to you.” Mrs. Higurashi said calmly.

 

Kagome paused for a few seconds, then suddenly jumped up and gave her mother a big hug. “Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. Mom thank you so much. This is so going to be fun. I start in a new school, where no one knows me as the sick girl, and I also get to learn how to control my Miko energies. Not only that I get to be around demons more often. Yukina we're going to be roomies. Oh the fun we are going to have. Of course when there is no training.” Kagome was ecstatic.

 

Mrs. Higurashi allowed a small smile to touch her lips. I am going to miss having you home. But at least this time you'll be at this time frame, and a lot closer to home. “Well Kagome I have to be heading home. Sota should be home already and wondering what is going on. Kagome I brought you several changes of clothes, if you need anything feel free to call or come by and pick up what you want. I also brought all of your fighting gear. Please let me know if I missed anything.” She then gave Kagome a hug. “Bye, see you later.”

 

Kagome hugged her mom back. “I love you mom. Thank you for understanding what I needed before I did.”

 

After her mom left, Kagome turned towards Genkai. “So Genkai when do we start training.”

 

“In one minute, better hurry up and change, unless you plan on training in that.” She answered blandly. While Hiei just smirked at her predicament.

 

Kagome yelped. “Where can I go and changed.”

 

“Last door to the right. That is the room I usually keep for that slacker, but since he hardly ever comes by anymore, it's yours.”

 

Kagome started running before Genkai even finished speaking, causing Genkai to chuckle, a giggle from Yukina, and a smirk from Hiei.

 

In under a minute with twenty seconds to spare, Kagome had changed into blue jeans with a baggy T-shirt, and was standing in front of Genkai. “I'm ready. Can we train now?” Kagome asked eagerly.

 

The dimwit never was this eager. Genkai thought to herself. She had a feeling that she really was going to like this girl. She is eager to learn, and she probably won't giver her as much trouble to train as the slacker does.

 

“Kagome your first lesson will be to use your spiritual energies to hold you over this bed of needles. Like this.” And so saying Genkai forced her energy to surround her and lifted her up off the floor to float over the needles. It looked as if she was sitting Indian style over thin air.

 

“Now Kagome your turn. Feel your energy surround you.” Genkai said.

 

Kagome was sitting crossed legged on the floor had closed her eyes and went searching into herself until she found her energy. Once she found it, she coaxed it out and had it surround her. She then commanded it to lift her and hold her over the bed of needles.

 

“Kagome do not lose your concentration. Now open your eyes.”

 

Kagome opened her eyes to see herself floating right next to Genkai. She was so surprised that she almost fell, but caught herself in time. She took a deep calming breath and just let her energy hold her.

 

“How long do I have to stay like this?” Kagome asked.

 

“From now on, as soon as you get here from school, you are to meditate over this bed for an hour every day. This should help you gain control, and with time this will get easier.” Genkai said. “Now I have other duties to see to, I will be coming in to check on you. No cheating.” Genkai warned, then floated off the bed to land on her feet next to it, and proceeded to walk out.

 

Kagome closed her eyes and concentrated on what she was doing. At first this exercise seemed so easy but after about twenty minutes, it started getting harder. It seemed the longer she floated, the harder it was to control her energy and keep it coming. Forty minutes passed and Kagome was getting exhausted.

 

*Hiei, has Genkai ever made anyone else do something like this.* Kagome asked in the hope of making the time pass faster.

 

*Something similar.*

 

*Who?* Kagome asked curiously.

 

*The slacker.* Hiei said in a dead pan tone of voice.

 

For some reason Kagome finds this amusing and giggles. *So does training get harder after this or easier.*

 

*Sorry onna, this is the easy part.* Hiei said, amusement coating his voice in her head.

 

*Hiei.* Kagome said sweetly.

 

Uh oh. Hiei thought to himself. He really did not trust that tone of voice from her. *Kagome.* He said threateningly.

 

*DOWN!!!* Kagome shouts through their mind link. Hiei had been sitting lazily on a branch on a tree when suddenly there was a loud THUD!.

 

*My name is Kagome! Not onna.* Kagome says. While Hiei mutters curses while in the ground.

 

“Okay Kagome, time's up. Time for the next lesson. Yukina will be helping me with this one because of her healing abilities. We are going to see you are able to heal using your Miko energies.” Genkai said.

 

Kagome groaned. She was exhausted already, but got up anyways and went over to Yukina.

 

“Kagome, first we will be meditating and concentrating on how to bring your energies to your hands.” Yukina said.

 

“Now cross your legs and relax your arms.” And showed Kagome what she meant by taking that same position. “Good. Close your eyes and search deep within yourself….Kagome tell me what do you see?”

 

“I see two lights intermingling. A blue light and a purple light. It like they are merging and becoming one.” Kagome explained.

 

“Good that is your Miko energies and Spirit energies co-existing within your body. Bring out the purple energy and concentrate on bringing it to your right hand.”

 

Kagome seeing these two energies, started working on coaxing the purple light to travel to her right hand. It took her about twenty minutes before she was finally able to do it. Her right hand was now glowing purple.

 

“Good, Keep it there. Now concentrate on the blue energy and bring it to your left hand.”

 

Kagome then went to the blue light and coaxed it to come to her other hand. This energy took a lot longer. Since she never used this energy before, it took a good forty minutes before she was able to bring it to her other hand. She never even knew about this other energy. She just thought that the only energy in her body was her Miko energies.

 

“Very good Kagome. Now keep your concentration and open your eyes. Look down at your hands.” Yukina instructed.

 

Kagome was shocked and amazed that what she was seeing. She didn't just have one energy, but two. Two that co-exist and merge within her body.

 

“Now Kagome you are to concentrate and keep this up for an hour. I want you to do this for an hour every day. This is to help you learn to call out your energies. Once you have become more used to this and it gets easier to call them out, I will instruct you on how to use it to heal.” Yukina said and meditated right next to Kagome for the next hour.

 

This time Kagome was too occupied trying to control two different energies that the hour passed by very quickly, leaving her feeling completely drained.

 

“Now that is enough training for today. You should rest and we will continue tomorrow after school.” Yukina said.

 

“You did good today Kagome.” Genkai complimented.

 

Kagome gave a small smile. “Thank you Genkai. Will I only be doing these two exercises tomorrow, or will you show me something else too?” She asked eagerly.

 

“For now we will only be working on these two exercises. Until you learn how to better control them. Then I will show you some different ones. Now go to bed. Tomorrow is going to be a big day for you.” Genkai said.

 

“Goodnight everyone.” Kagome said cheerfully as she went to bed. I can't wait till tomorrow. I wonder if the students will be friendly. Kagome thought as she drifted off into sleep.

Carol: Thank your for your review and I was thinking of making Shippo about 510 or 511 years old. I mean it has been about five hundred years since he last saw Kagome, so had to make him old. But he doesn't look any older than about his early to mid twenties. As to when everyone meets up. All I can say to that is slowly and not just yet. I am trying to get her to meet the characters from yuyu hakusho first.
