Chapter 3; New Spirit Detectives

 

-clearing-Author's POV-

 

Suddenly, while the group was waiting for Botan, a portal opened and Botan came out floating on her oar, and landed next to them.

“Hello, I'm Botan, guide to the Spirit World, you must be Kagome and Sango.” Said Botan in her normal bubbly voice.

“Yes, I'm Sango. This is my younger sister, Kagome.”

“Nice to meet you.” replied the over enthusiastic grim reaper.

“Alright. Let's just take them to Koenma and get this over with.” Complained Yuske.

“I'm sure Koenma will be surprised. We didn't expect you to find them this fast.” Complemented Botan.

“Whatever.”

“Alright now. Just walk through the portal, don't worry, it will take you to Koenma's office.” Explained the bubbly `you know who'.

Kagome and Sango cautiously followed Botan, Hiei, Kurama, Kuwabara, and Yuske followed after the girls and walked in to a strange sight.

 

-Koenma's office-Author's POV-

 

What the boys walked into was Kagome holding Koenma, and Sango looking like she was joining her sister in adoring the toddler. Yuske just fell to the floor trying to breath through his laughs but turning blue instead. Kuwabara joined him on the floor when he saw what was cute and disturbing. Kurama was trying to hide his laugh by coughing and was doing a pretty good job, Hiei just smirked, but his eyes where filled with his suppressed laughter that could rival the suffocating boys on the floor.

“What's wrong?” asked Kagome.

“Th-that's Koenma.” Said Yuske after he and his baka friend got up. Hiei walked to the window and the others gathered around the desk.

“Would you put me down?” asked Koenma (who's blushing).

Kagome quickly apologized and put the you ruler back on his thrown.

“Ahem.” Koenma getting everyone's attention started to question Kagome.

“Your names Kagome right? And Sango? Yuske told Botan over the communicator that you and your sister killed a troublesome youkai today, and that you used a certain power to do it. Care to more elaborately explain?”

“Not a problem.” -explains about the well-(leaves out Shippo and the fact she's a demon)

“And that's our story.” She finished.

“There has been a curious new demonic aura around your school that disappeared earlier today, do you know anything about it?” Koenma continued to question.

“Yes, I know a bit.”

“It's very important you tell me.”

Kagome looked at Sango and telepathically asked her if she should.

`Well Kagome, he IS the ruler of Spirit World. I think you should tell him, he should know.' Explained Sango.

Kagome nodded and turned to Koenma again.

“The demon your looking for is me.” She stated.

“Hmm, could you explain?”

“Sure. I hid my aura with a spell. I became a demon after the Shikons' four souls came to me in a dream.”

“Care to explain the dream?”

“Sure. Well first I saw Midoriko…-explains dream-….and when I woke up I was an all element apparition.

“You still have your miko abilities?” asked Kurama.

Kagome just nodded at that.

“When you fought the demon before, it looked as if it were planned out..” he continued

“I told Sango what to do telepathically.”

“What about your swords?” asked Kuwabara.

“We used a spell to conceal them until they were fully drawn from the sheath.” Explained Sango.

“Would you mind dropping any spells currently in use?” asked Koenma.

Kagome sighed and then dropped the spells concealing her demon form and the swords from the eyesight of others.

All eyes were on Kagome, even Hiei looked a little wide eyed at her before he once more pulled on his cold façade.

 

-Hiei's POV-

`Pretty….WHERE DID THAT COME FROM?' thought the fire/ice apparition.

`Don't act surprised she is pretty.'

`Who the HELL are you, and what are you doing in my head?” he demanded.

`I'm that pesky little voice called the self-conscious' it replied.

`hn, I don't need one.'

`I don't care what you think you don't need. My intention is to hook you up with her.'

`I don't need her either. You can leave now.' Said Hiei.

`Not until you admit you like her.'

`Forget it' said Hiei.

If you were in Hiei's mind you would see him dragging his self-conscious into a closet and locking it in there.

`Good riddance.' Thought Hiei.

 

-Author's POV-

 

“Umm, could you guys like stop staring at me. ARE YOU DROOLING?” she yelled at the still drooling Kuwabara.

Kuwabara knelt before Kagome and asked…

“Will you do me the honor of being my girl-friend?”

Kagome looked at Sango pleadingly, and Sango seemed to know what she wanted, because she knocked the baka out and left him sprawled on the floor.

sigh “Thank you Sango”

“Anytime”

Well now that everyone was out of there daze at hearing Kagome yell, Koenma started to speak again.

“Well, since you're a demon, and a powerful one at that I'll have to keep an eye on you. Since you're a miko you could help out in tough situations. I think the best solution is for you to become a Spirit Detective.”

“What about Sango?” asked Kagome.

“She seems to know about demon extermination if what you say is true. She may join as well if she wants.”

“I'm not leaving my sister to do this without me.” Stated Sango calmly.

“Alright then, Botan, you should give them communicators, then return them to Sunset Shrine (don't know how to spell last name, anyone know how?).”

Botan then gave the two sisters they're communicators.

“Botan or I will contact you with these when you need help. The boys you already met are the other Spirit Detectives and may be with you in other cases. I suggest you get to know them, I had Yuske, Kurama, and Kuwabara transferred to your school earlier, so you'll see enough of them.”

“Alright then. Come on Sango, let's go home.” Said Kagome walking to the portal Botan had just made.

Little did the girls know that becoming Spirit Detectives had gotten them involved in something much bigger than simple demons breaking through the barrier. ( Yuske had told them when explaining Spirit World).
