The large group of travelers settled down for the night, each doing their own thing. Kagome, Kurama, Jade, Sango, Yusuke, Kuwabara, and Miroku were sitting around the fire, quietly talking. Hiei and Inuyasha were in resting in the trees, Sesshoumaru leaning up against another, watching Rin and Shippo play nearby.

Rin and Shippo were happily playing and talking when they stopped and scampered over to the adults, mainly Kagome and Kurama.

"Kagome-kaasan? Can you sing a song? Me and Rin wanna hear one. Please?"

"I guess so Shippo, Jade, want to sing the song we just learned?"

"Sure, anything for the little ones."

(They are singing the song in Japanese, but I have it in English so…)

When they stopped, they opened their eyes, only to see everyone staring and gapping at them (except Hiei and Sesshoumaru, but they did enjoy it, they just didn't show it)

"What are you staring at us like that for?"

"You two have beautiful voices, they compliment each other very well."

"Yeah, 'kaasan you have a pretty voice."

"I would have to agree."

"Me too."

"Hn."

"Feh, that wasn't anything special, Kikyo could have done better." Needless to say, everyone ignored him after throwing him a dirty look. Even Sesshoumaru and Hiei.

Suddenly, Kagome and Jade stiffened, and turned to look behind them.

"Jewel Shard! Right behind us!"

Inuyasha jumped up, only to look around clueless, and like an idiot.

But, out of the trees, burst a youkai shouting the normal, you know, 'Give me the jewel shards and I shall let you live!' When everyone got a good look at it, they all started laughing. It was a cow youkai! It looked just like a normal cow, it just had red eyes. And it could talk.

"You dare laugh at me, the Great Meushi! I will kill you all and take your shards! Minions Attack!"

Out of nowhere, tons of huge demon chipmunks (I mean huge for a chipmunk, like, uh say, the size of a golden retriever) started attacking everyone. There were hundreds of them. Once they had gotten through the hoard of chipmunks, they started to fight the cow. He was easily dispatched of, and his jewel shard purified. When that was all done, they settled down for the night, to rest for the upcoming battle with Naraku.
