Unexpectedly
Yu Yu Hakusho and Inuyasha are not my characters, no matter how much I wish they were.
Chapter One:
She sat on the edge of the well, the wind flowing through her hair like invisible fingers. There was an odd sense of peace about her, despite the tears that had dried on her cheeks from the late spring heat and despite the presence behind her. She couldn't find the will to jump in and possibly save her from the inevitable outcome.
And why was she so sad? That idiot hanyo did it again. Didn't he always? But this time…this time was different. This time he had made his decision. Fragmented memories of the past moments flitted through her mind.
She had been busy helping Kaede pick herbs in her garden and throughout the woods. The old Miko's arthritis, as the doctors in her time labeled it, was hurting her more at that time and she needed the help. Plus the conversation was enjoyable. She didn't mind, the old lady was like a Grandmother to her as well as her mentor and teacher when it came to her miko powers.
It had been four years a week ago since she had been pulled down in the well. She had just turned twenty, and in Kaede's book, had just `graduated' from her miko training. She had been so excited. Her mother had even baked a cake that she was able to bring back to the feudal era for everyone to eat, Inuyasha, in a moment of rare thoughtfulness, had gave her the gift of a bow made of an indestructible red oak that was coated in a shiny gloss made from fire worms. Inuyasha had said that the fire worms had powers similar to the fire rat and that the bow would protect me from certain elements such as fire and ice. She grabbed him and threw her arms around him in a loving embrace, laughing at the blushed that had spread on his cheeks. That was a memory she cherished
As she picked flowers from the blue Loriah plant, gently taking out the stigma to get to the sweet dew that is used for the healing of various poisons and helps cleanse demonic auras from wounds that keep the wound from healing properly, she saw soul collectors flying overhead. She glanced at Kaede, the elder Miko who was starring at her with knowing eyes. She sighed. What to do? No doubt Inuyasha would be with her. She couldn't say she harbored the same emotional feelings for the Hanyou, but hope still held tightly to her heart. She rose silently and followed the soul creepers-(I mean collectors) that drifted through the forest and between the trees.
She finally got within ear shot and surely enough Inuyasha stood in front of Kikyo, golden eyes entranced in chocolate ones. Her heart hurt because she knew he would never look at her like that. She stood down wind so that Inuyasha wouldn't sense her and listened intently. They were talking about the jewel. They had completed the jewel about a month ago, Naraku having finally died in, what the future would call, the Great Battle. All those who had been fighting against Naraku was there; Inuyasha and our group, Shippo, Jaken, AH-UN, Sesshoumaru, Kohaku, and a few others. Rin, who had been kidnapped by Naraku, was there as well after Sessoumaru got her back. Kagura was dead, Naraku finally decided that she was no longer of any use to him and had killed her. Despite that, the group still believed she was there on the wind giving encouragement in her own way. Naraku fought hard. It was Kagome's arrow that had truly killed him, purifying him until he couldn't regenerate anymore and then cleansing the jewel that finally released him. That day ended with great jubilee and a marriage proposal from Miroku to Sango who, obviously, accepted.
Now the jewel was complete and hung gently around her neck, she glanced at it when she realized the subject of their talk. She realized the pain the jewel caused would never stop until it completely disappeared, clenching it tighter within her grasp as her heart clenched from what she was seeing and hearing.
“Inuyasha, since the jewel is complete, we can finally be together.” Kikyo moved closer until she was almost touching Inuyasha. Her hand drifted across Inuyasha's face with a gentle caress. “She can start from where we left off and finish the story we began.”
Inuyasha's eyes softened as he pulled her into a tight embrace. From where Kagome stood she could hear his whispered `I love you'.
“Tell me what you want to do Kikyo.”
“We have to kill Kagome. We both can't be here and I need my soul. That way we can get the jewel and then wish on it.” Inuyasha drew back and stared at Kikyo.
“But Kikyo, I mean,…I love you but I care about Kagome too. I can't kill her…” Kikyo's lip poked out in a most unpleasant way that she seemed to have wanted to be seductive.
“Inuyasha she is only an imitation of me. She could never be me. The soul she has is mine. You're going to have to choose who it is you love more.” Inuyasha looked crestfallen. Kagome looked on, praying to whoever was watching in hopes that her fears would not come true. Someone must not have heard her.
“Ok. Kikyo…I choose you…tell me what to do.” Inuyasha's head was downcast, and his bangs hid his eyes. Before she knew it, Kagome was running…running as fast as she could go. The tears ran down her face in hot tracts, burning even more when the blazing sun bounced off of them. She cried silently. Never had she thought it would come to this. She found herself at the well and sat on the edge, willing herself to jump into the dark abyss and escape this nightmare she had found herself in. If she jumped she would never be able to return. If she jumped, it would truly be the end. This is the place where she had found herself.
The well loomed beneath her. Her miko garbs, specially made just for her by Sango and Kaede, flapped with the wind. The bottom portion was a dark, midnight purple and the top was black. A silver and blue dove flew on her left side, a ribbon in its mouth wrapped around the leg. Splatters of random feathers decorated the bottoms here and there, glittering in the sunlight. Her hair, now well past her behind shinned in the sunlight with hints of dark blue hues. Her eyes, different from Kikyos's, were the dark blue of the ocean at night.
She sighed deeply, willing the presence behind her to do what it came to do. She had been thinking, which for many, can be a dangerous pass time. She realized that, though her heart was not in love with Inuyasha anymore, she still loved him. And the selfless person she was only desired his happiness. She had dealt with the pain of having only half a soul for the past three and a half years because of him. She knew he loved Kikyo and, therefore, only desired his happiness. What was different now? She had no one. No one loved her but Shippo, but ever since he found another kitsune tribe, he was gone. Every now and then he came back to show his love to them. Everything was different now. Sango and Miroku had settled down and beginning their family. Now that Inuyasha had chosen, there was nothing here anymore. So, she figured she had two choices: Leave or let Inuyasha kill her. If he killed her, then one of them would have happiness, right?
The presence behind her was abnormally still. No sound could be heard. It didn't bother her; the peace she felt was something she was grateful for. There was no sudden flash of her entire life before her eyes: just…peace. She could smell the sakura blossoms in bloom, allowing the scent to engrave in her mind.
What happened next was a surprise. A hand grasped her shoulder, strong yet gentle. The other hand snaked around her waist and pulled her to a very strongly built frame that was…NOT Inuyasha. Her heart began to race even more, for a different reason, when the strangers face leaned into rub the side of his face with her neck and up her cheek. A pair of firmly turned lips traced the shell of her ear and across her shoulder. Shudders ran though her, and a tightening within her lower abdomen began.
She was confused. `Am I so desperate that a stranger can turn me on like this?' With a sudden burst of anger she spun around in his arms and was frozen to the spot. She had fallen…not on the ground, but within liquid gold eyes. His was tall, a good foot high than herself. Two ears sat on top of his head, similar, yet different to Inuyasha. His ears were taller and more acute than the Hanyo's, plus she could tell he was full demon by the power than emanated from him. His hair was silver and so fine she wondered how she could have been fascinated with Inuyasha's hair for so long.
She couldn't move…and if he could be honest, neither could he. She was beautiful for a human and compared to most demonesses. Her scent, which was what lured him, was a mix fragrance of vanilla and wild berries…strange for anyone to have and it made his mouth water. Add on top of that the spicy scent of woman…he thought he had died and gone to heaven. She surprised him with being so willing to have him hold her like that, and he thought for a moment he had found himself a human whore. But after one whiff of her scent he knew she was pure. This surprised him, his inner demon seemed to be giddy off the intoxication of their good luck. A beautiful, smell delicious, virgin…and powerful human. The last part surprised him even more, his fox liking this girl more and more as the enigma she was and the intrigue she provided him.
He reached his hand out to brush a strand of hair out of her face and to gently caress the rosy blushed cheeks. He could see in her eyes her fear. He could easily wipe those thoughts…and any other thoughts from her mind. Yet, something in him told him to take it slow for her. Something was special about her and he was unsure as to what it was. Of course, never one to look a jewel of any kind in the face without taking it, Yoko Kurama, the Bandit, gently picked Kagome up bridal style and carried her to a hot spring, his eyes never leaving hers.
She didn't realize they had moved until the moist heat of the hot spring bounced off of her skin. The Day had melted into sunset and twilight was fast approaching. The last ember rays flitted though the trees in red, pink, and purple hues. A splash was heard and when she looked up, her mysterious demon had splashed into the water…naked. She could only see waist up, but that was enough. Her blood rushed through her body and she could feel the heat in her cheeks. He turned and looked at her, a toothy smirk adorning her face. This annoyed her.
“I'm glad you find me amusing.” She stood up and turned around, wondering why she didn't just walk away. She heard splashing and a very wet body pressed up behind her.
“On the contrary, I find it very…appealing.” His mouth was at her ear and his voice, deep and masculine, thrummed through her nerves. The tightening within her abdomen grew. His hands gripped her hips and pulled her closer while his mouth kissed heated trails down her neck. One hand continued holding her to him, afraid she'd shy away, while the other trailed ever so slowly a path from her belly button to between her breasts. The treacherous hand then cupped one of her breasts, giving it a firm squeeze. This elicited a small moan from her.
He smiled as she leaned into him, seeking more of the warmth he provided. He bent his head down to the junction where shoulder meets neck and suckled, drinking in her sweet, intoxicating aroma. He had been with many, but none had made him feel so…dominant. His demon side roared in ecstasy whenever the young maiden moaned or every time he felt the shiver coarse down her body. He laughed into her neck, this too sent vibrations through her, only serving to make him more excited.
So many thoughts were running through her mind. The feelings he was making her feel were battling those thoughts, trying to send them to the grave. Yet she couldn't let go of the feeling she was doing something wrong. He was a stranger after all and she was a virgin. Was she sure he was the one who would have what she waited so long to hold on to? She laid her head back onto his shoulder as he gave her breast another firm squeeze, bringing another moan she couldn't control to be set free. Her eyes stared up at the sky through half lidded eyes. The half moon stared back at her, evidence that twilight had indeed come. A canvas of greens and blues adorned the sky, slowly fading to night.
Why not? She asked herself. Why not? She had given herself up freely to people with no evidence of anything in return for the past four years. Yeah, her friends loved her, but she had no one who would stay by her side or take care of her while she was sick. It was just her. It hurt, but that's the way it was. Now this stranger was offering what no one else had, intimacy. So, why not? Why not do what she wanted to do for a change? Why not be bad? She decided to not care, for just this one moment. To give into temptation for this one moment. A smile played across her lips as she turned her head.
He knew she had been battling with her decision, he could sense it in the way she held back. The smell of her arousal already had him on edge. He was thinking about saying something when she, obviously coming to a decision, turned her head to his ear and licked. YES SHE DID! She licked the shell of his ear so tenderly, he pulled her tighter and growled letting her know he approved. He was surprised that she understood it, but she must have as she giggled and moved closer to him.
He soon realized that she had on too much clothing, but as she had no more clothes, he would have to take them off the hard way. Picking her up around the waist, still keeping his position, he walked her into the water. He gently untied her garments, some wet, and through them onto the spring's shore. The air would dry them.
She was too far gone to care about him taking off her clothes. Her decision was made, and when she made up her mind that was it. Not that she wanted to take this back. He was so beautiful and he made her feel beautiful…for the moment that was all that mattered. As he threw her clothes onto the shore she realized that he had been doing all the work. She didn't want it to be only her getting all the fun, besides she was curious about him. A grin graced her lips.
He turned back to see the sexiest, and a little bit intimidating, smirk adorn the girls face. He was unsure to the meaning behind it, but because of what happened next, he decided he liked it. She walked up to him and her hands touched his stomach and then began her explorations. Her hands glided, with the help of the waters slickness, across his abs, touching and teasing the certain areas of the most pleasure. She dipped within his belly button and up to play around his nipples. He found himself seated on a rock that jutted out in the spring, good thing too because her administrations were making his legs weak.
Next, to his amazement, she stopped using his fingers and then used her tongue, following the same path she had created with her fingers. She dipped within his belly button then up, leaving a hot trail to cool with the night air. Then she licked, teasingly, both nipples. He could only stare, here was the Sex God Yoko Kurama at the mercy of a virgin no less. It amazed him and turned him on at the same time. He could feel his already erected member harden even more with every circle of her tongue. A groan escaped his lips and her eyes caught his. Her lips shimmered with moisture that was more than just enticing. Taking both hands and holding her face he placed his lips on hers. They were so soft and tasted of her flavor: vanilla and wild berries. He couldn't help it, he had to taste more. He ravaged her until he had drunk until his was full; of course, he was soon starting to believe he may never be satisfied.
He stood back, finally, and looked down. For once admiring everything she had to offer. Her breast rose in perfect mounds with erected pink peaks from the cool air. Her skin was perfect and held no scar that he could see above the water. She was well toned, but not overly so like many demonesses. Dipping his head down he took hold of one of her peaks with his mouth, enjoying the taste of the water mixed with her own sweet flavor. As he sucked her breathing became more breathy and her moans became more sensual. Slowly, he slipped a finger down to dwell between her legs, playing in a circle around that soft bundle of nerves that had her immediately bucking. Her breathing came more rapid, and as he pressed harder he could tell her peak was near. He slid a finger and then another finger inside of her, loving how her body clenched his two digits. He continued rubbing his thumb in that torturous circle and sliding his fingers in and out, while at the same time lavishing an onslaught of attention her already red breast.
He felt her reach her peek, a strangled moan stuck in her throat as her body clenched and her muscles went rigid. Hot warmth spread across his fingers. He brought his hand out from underneath her and licked. His beast all but broke the walls of his body. Her taste, it still held the flavor of Vanilla and Wild berries, but there was more. There was woman, a hint of purity, and a whole lot of power. It drove his demon self crazy. He could feel the blood seeping into his eyes and his appetite for the girl…no, woman…increases tenfold. He lifted her up out of the water to lay halfway on the shore, using his shirt as a pillow. He then put his face between her legs, drinking in her smell. Wanting to drink any drop that was left over, he found himself licking and sucking until she had come again.
He gently used his tongue to gather all of her access juices, loving how she cried out when he hit a sensitive area. He moved upward until he was face to face with her, his member ready to enter her, yet knowing she was still a virgin. He leaned down to kiss her, drawing her into a passionate kiss. In the midst of the kiss he pushed inside of her, gently, but still urgently, until he could feel the breaking of her hymen. She broke out of the kiss with an intake of breath. He tried to stay as still as possible, her muscles were clenching him. She was so tight. His breathing was becoming out in breaths and he was trying not to just ram her silly. He had always prided himself on his self control, but at the moment, he wasn't sure he could hold on. But she surprised him…again. She leaned up and kissed him, simultaneously, her muscles began to relax.
Slow at first, but then with a quicker pace, he moved within her. They had broken the kiss and now were shaking with the sweats of ecstasy. His eyes were red and his demon half had taken over. The harder he pumped into her, the higher she would arch into him until they had both reached their peak and he spilled his seed into her. In that perfect moment when neither could tell where one began and the other ended, when both beings were floating high above the world, Yoko's demon took over and marked the young woman as his own. Two teeth marks could be found in that junction between her neck and shoulder, fading away to leave behind a silver rose with thorns that graced its stem. They continued in this way, torturing each other with pleasure, until the early morning. Yoko collapsed on top of the beautiful girl who, to his amusement, was already asleep.
Only now did he notice the rose tattoo. It shined in the moonlight and he knew it was his marked. He didn't like what it could mean. Thoughts ran through his head, at the meaning of the branding. Had his demon chosen this woman as his mate? He needed answers. Koronue may know something? He hated to leave her, but he had to. He got up and dressed, draping her own clothes over her nude body. Then, as an afterthought for her protection, he placed a single red rose beside her. It was just a simple rose to the normal, but if anything tried to harm her, the rose would turn into his most prized plant, the death tree. With a gentle kiss goodbye, he ran into the night, every intention of coming back and finding her on his mind.
The sun kissed her skin and the light sifting through the trees pierced through her eyelids. She could feel a dull ache growing from between her legs and it took a moment of coherent thoughts to remember everything that happened. Memories of the night before flooded her and she instantly felt herself aroused at her thoughts. He had made her feel so alive and wanted. No one had ever done that, so, to him she would be forever grateful. She opened her eyes and saw red. A rose laid within her eye sight, beautiful and perfect. She sat with a yawn, knowing already that the mysterious man, of whom she never asked his name, was gone. He left no goodbye except for the rose. Smiling, she picked it up and brought up to her nose to smell. The scent was glorious, the smell every rose should have. However, to her surprise, the flower seemed to come to life, sending thin vines up her arm to wrap loosely around her neck. Once there, it cuddled against her with its soft petals, making sure its thorns had retracted. She didn't know what the meaning of it was and just accepted it.
Standing up she waded into the spring, cleaning any dirt or extra anything she might have picked up. Then getting dressed, she quickly walked back in the direction she vaguely remember coming from. The well was insight, but no one else was. Last night, her stranger friend, her secret lover, made her realize something. She didn't want to give up. She still had an entire life to live and wanted to be able to love it. That meant that no matter how much she loved Inuyasha, she was going to live. There must be someone out there for her to love, the fates wouldn't have put her on this earth without someone for her, right? She sat on the lip of the well contemplating this, when a sound came from behind her.
“…Kagome…”
She turned around and looked at Inuyasha. He stared at her with determined eyes, but when he saw her, that fervor wavered. He did love her, he couldn't lie about that, but this was a hard decision. He loved both women, but Kikyo was the original. Kagome's eyes stared back him with understanding that only she possessed, not Kikyo.
“I love you Inuyasha,” His heart skipped a pace.
“…please Kagome…” He unconsciously reached out his hand.
“…but I want to live. Goodbye.” With that she jumped and before anyone could have grabbed her she was on the other side. There was no way she could go back, this was the end. They couldn't come here and she couldn't go back. The well was closed for good. A soft purple light glowed from the well, different from its normal blue, signifying a transition.
She open the well house doors and allowed the sunlight to seep in, truly smiling for the first time. Life just seemed to be full of the unexpected.
Thanx to all those who like this story. Please Review. I only plan on continuing this story if there are enough readers who like it. Have to please the fans you know. Let me know if you any ideas you wish were in the story, trust that I already have some strong ideas. For example, Kagome brings home two knew beings in her life, who are they? Riddle me that. Anyway, please review. I'm thinking about heating it up with a love triangle between Hiei and Kurama, although I'm pretty sure she will get with Kurama. Hey, realize she doesn't even know that she has been marked.
P.S: please review.
