Chapter 11

The sun was begging to set in the distance. The smelly, straggly, haired man awoke from his long nap. He could see that nighttime was approaching. “Ah, bloody hell.” He thought to himself. He stretched his sore muscles, picked up the saddle, and began to saddle his horse. He knew that he had overslept and was going to be late getting back to the Captain. With a loud smack of the reins and a sturdy kick in the side, they made haste.

“Where are we going, Inuyasha?” She questioned, while he pulled her toward another room.

“You'll see my love,” he replied, while opening the door, adjacent to Sango's room.

She gasped when he opened the door. Inside was a canopy bed; mosquito nets surrounded the solid oak frame. A soft hue lit the room. She noticed candles placed around the bed and furniture. Red rose pedals where thrown all over the white comforter. On the other side of the bed, she noticed a black dress. The off the shoulder dress, was adorned with pearl beaded buttons. “Wow! Inuyasha this is beautiful, wherever did you find this?” She asked, still gawking at the beautiful garment, “I wonder what he's up to.”

Sango returned downstairs, her shift was about to start. She put on her best wench's outfit and headed downstairs. The men where already surrounding her. She felt disgusted with herself for the only man she ever desired was a pirate on board Inuyasha's ship.

“Come over here wench!” The drunken sailor demanded, waving his hand over for her to give him attention. She grumbled to herself while slowly approaching the man.

Miroku saw the whole scene play out and it made his blood boil, “I need to end this now!” He screamed in his head as he made his way over to Sango.

“What's your name, Wench?” He asked while grabbing Sango's arm roughly. Sango struggled to get away from the smelly toothless man.

“God, I really hate my job,” she scolded herself.

“Let go of her, you Bastard!” Miroku yelled while grabbing Sango's arm and yanking her out of the offending man's lap.

“What in the hell is the meaning of this? She was going warm my bed tonight,” he announced slurring his words.

Miroku was now seeing red, he did not want anyone to touch his woman, and tonight would be the last night she would be working.

Kagome looked over the room with amazement and then noticed a cocky grinned captain, staring back at her. Ignoring him, she continued her gaze at the flowing gown, reaching her hand up she ran her fingers through her hair. “God, I need a bath.”

Inuyasha with his sensitive hearing said, “There is a door behind you where you will find a tub and some bathing soaps.” She gave him a quick smile laying the dress back on the bed and she opening the door behind her. Inside rose pedals where scattered all over the Victorian tub, she gasped, noticing the candles adorning every available space in the room. The water was steaming from the hot water in the tub. There was scented soap and some shampoo. She smelled the shampoo, revealing a pleasant lavender aroma. She quickly undressed and headed for a nice relaxing bath.

Hojo went over to telegram his family. Unfortunately, he would not be arriving home anytime soon. With a small frown, he went back to his room and packed for the long trip ahead. “God, please let me come home in one piece,” he whispered to himself, with one last glance; he turned leaving his room for the last time.

The drunken man got up from his seat, “Who the hell do you think you are, interrupting our affair?” He questioned and tried to grab Sango. “When I'm done with her, you can have her all to yourself.”

Miroku could not keep his temper calm any longer and punched the drunken man in the face. The man fell back and rubbed his sore jaw. “Son of a bitch!” He yelled and went to swing at Miroku but missed and received another punch, this time in the gut. The man fell to his knees holding on to his bruised stomach. He attempted to get off the floor but never made it. Miroku punched him so hard in the face the man fell onto the floor with a thump and laid there unconscious. The other men saw what was going on and were ready to take down the pirate that interfered with the wench.

“Sango, get out of here!” Miroku demanded!

“I can't leave you like this!” She yelled at him, while tears formed in her deep brown eyes.

“Don't be foolish, Sango. I can take care of this brawl better if you weren't here, so I wouldn't have to worry about you. Go please,” he pleaded.

Sango turned around and ran up the stairs, “I have to tell the Captain,” she thought while running up the stairs.

Inuyasha sat in a chair waiting for Kagome to finish her bath; he could smell lavender in the air and relished the pleasant scent. He glanced over at the bed and gave a chuckle. “She left her dress on the bed. I wonder if she will come fetch it wearing only a towel when she realizes her mistake.” A sudden knock at his door sent him out of his thoughts. He approached the door knowing who was interrupting him, “This better be good, Sango,” he growled.

He opened the door only to see a frazzled girl, “What is it, Sango?” He asked. Sango was trembling, trying to get the words out of her mouth. “Sango, what is wrong?” He repeated, this time with increasing apprehension.

Tears started to form in her eyes, “Miroku is downstairs, and he's in trouble.”

Miroku did his best to ward off the men that went to attack him. He suddenly felt a heavy force strike him in the face, blood was now seeping from his nose, and he began to feel weak. He knew this would be the end of him. Even with his sword drawn, he had only taken a couple of the ruffians down, but more were still coming at him. He was definitely outnumbered. “Where is everyone when I need them?” he mused. As if God was hearing his silent plea, he saw Inuyasha flying down the stairs.

Inuyasha ran down the stairs with his demon speed and saw a bloody and bruised Miroku. He saw his friend tiring fast. “What the hell is going on here?” Inuyasha yelled, distracting the men from further attacking Miroku. Inuyasha cracked his knuckles, with a threatening tone, he growled, “You mess with my crew, you mess with me.”

Kagome stood up from her bath and realized that her dress was in the other room with Inuyasha. “Oh this is just great, how I'm suppose to get dressed? God I'm such and idiot. I bet he's just laughing at me, knowing damn well I have nothing to wear,” she silently scolded herself. “Inuyasha?” She cried out for him, however, there was no response. She waited patently and again she called out to him, but still no answer. She wrapped the towel securely around her firm body. Cracking the door open, she peaked her head out to survey the room. With a sigh of relief and another of disappointment, there was nobody in the room. “That's weird.” She thought, noticing that the bedroom door was wide open, quickly she ran over to close it.

With a second wind, Miroku pushed himself off the floor. Inuyasha could smell the fear in his new prey. Inuyasha had an unmerciful reputation; some of the men became cowardly and ran out the door not wanting to be slaughtered by the enraged half demon. Inuyasha was pissed. “How dare they interrupt me and my time with the raven haired beauty upstairs?” he growled, showing off his large canines. One of the men lunged for him. Inuyasha knocked the man unconsciousness without moving his stance. “ Is there anyone else here like to try and attack me? I do not have all day and my patience is growing thin. Or would you just like me to kill all of you now?” He yelled his tone dripped with pure hatred toward the men. The men looked over at their friend now lying motionless on the floor, deciding that this was a fight they would not win, they ran out the door like cowardly dogs with their tails tucked between their legs. “Well that was easy. Hey Miroku, are you ok?” He asked looking over at his friend, giving him a friendly hand.

“Yes, I'm fine. Thank you for your help,” he stated, giving Inuyasha a half grin and wiping the blood from his mouth.

“Good, because you need to go back upstairs and deal with a hysterical Sango,” he replied, then turned away and headed back up the stairs, “God, I hope I didn't miss anything upstairs.”

Inuyasha growled when he heard Kagome swearing followed by the slamming of the door, “Oh, my little vixen is out of the bath. Maybe she hasn't changed yet. God, I'm starting to sound like Miroku,” he mused.

Kagome was just about to take her towel off to put on her corset, when suddenly the door flung open. Screaming she ducked down on the floor letting the bed cover her half naked body. She could hear him laughing at her as he closed the door behind him.

“Well, well, well, what do we have here?” he mocked with a predatory tone, looking over at the half naked beauty.

“Get out of here, you pervert! At least give me some dignity to dress myself,” she hissed with alarming tone that now carried in her voice.

“That's not necessary. Please don't let me interrupt you, my love.”

She could feel her face get flushed with her now embarrassing situation, “Please, can you at least close your eyes or turn around?” she pleaded.

“Nope.”

“Fine!”

With a defeated tone, she made sure that her only protection would not fall from her still damp body. Standing up from her hiding spot, she grabbed the dress and the corset in one hand, while her other hand held firmly onto her towel as if it was a lifeline. It was however, life threatening for Inuyasha, she would definitely kill him if he stole a peek.

Inuyasha gave a whistle as he took in her shimmering body. Her arms were very toned as were her legs; a luscious body. One day he would feel what other mysterious features she hid. Inuyasha drowned in the vision of her wrapped up in a snug, short, towel, leaving him very aroused. He watched her carefully disappear behind the small door.

Quickly, she made her way back to the small bathroom while her heart pounded away as if it was desperately trying to escape.

Miroku made his way up the stairs. Sango was sitting on her bed fearing the worse while stilling the tears that attempted to make their way down her face. Comforting to know that Inuyasha was down there with him, she held her head down feeling guilty and shameful for leaving her lover.

Suddenly door flew open with a concerned pirate at the entrance. She looked up at him, smiled with relief, and ran into his chest giving him a loving embrace. “Oh thank God that you are okay,” she cried.

He looked down at her and ran his hand through her silky hair. “My love, from this day forth you will never work again while I'm around. No man will ever touch you again. My future wife, I will support you,” he said cupping his hand under her chin and looking into her hazel eyes. Then he began kissing her passionately.

She did not have anytime to process what he was saying, she was just happy that he was alive and in her arms. “What did you say, your wife?” She pondered and pulled away, looking into the depths of his soul. “Oh Miroku,” She exemplified lovingly and threw herself back into his embrace.

“Forever, Love.” she expressed, and then began kissing him again with more determination than before.

“Yes, my love, forever,” he replied while gently caressing her face.
