Chap.11

I screamed in pain as the knife made contact with my shoulder, it sunk into the wall behind me pinning me there. The poison coursed through my veins attacking everything in them. It was a witch's knife, a stolen one. "You think this will stop me?"

"For now, until we meet again, farewell." He disappeared as the door opened. A scared looking hanyou stood there with a very helpless Sango.

"He insisted."

"Don't worry about it." I pulled myself from the wall almost falling into tears at the pain. I gritted my teeth and pulled the blade from my shoulder, spilling ancient blood on the carpet. I dropped it and wandered into the hall. Both followed me with apprehension of every move I made. "He will come back and I fear he will be with others to kill you off. Just leave me here alone to die. I have nothing else to give… Souta's gone, and so is grandfather… I have no one else. Just go."

"You're wrong…" Inu said in a defying voice. "You have me, Sango, Kagura, Miroku, Kouga, and anyone else you can summon. You are not alone. We are not alone."

"There's no more hope, it all died when that blade struck me. I'm dying, slowly, but I'm dying. That knife is not ordinary… it's not even human. The poison in its grooves are killer to Nighters, Dark Lighters, and basically every other creature that walks this earth. Inuyasha just go and save your self." I stopped there sitting at the kitchen table.

What in the hell was she thinking? I was not leaving her here alone to die, she was mine, she was my wife long ago, my love… and she would not die alone.

I stood silent for a minute after she explained the knife. My head hurt. My heart hurt, I wanted to know her pain. "Kagome… what can heal you?"

"Nothing…"

Tears filled my eyes. This moment of weakness was for her, I wanted her to see the pain she caused me with her words. I wanted her to feel what I did. I knelt before her, and laid my head in her lap. Her pants grew wet with my tears, and Sango disappeared to somewhere so we could be alone together. Her hand gently stroked my hair then my ears. Slowly I fell into a trance by her finger movements and wrapped my arms around her legs holding her close to me. I felt the beginning sobs of her tears go through her body and looked up.

"Kagome… I love you." I was on my knees before her, looking straight into her eyes.

"Inuyasha… you will never know how much I love you." With that she slumped in her chair straight into my arms.

"Kagome…" I whispered frantic for her to open her eyes again. "Kagome… oh, Kami not now."

He came out from the house like a bullet. Kagome's small body was held in his arms shielding her from the light rain that had started to fall. "What going on?"

"We're taking her to Kaede. She is one of my friends and may be able to help her. She is a long way from here though. Do you think you can take us?"

"Of course. Where to?" I asked taking up steps behind him as he started toward some unknown place.

"Savannah, Georgia. Just get me to the outskirts of the north; I'll get her to Kaede from there."

"You got it." I grabbed his shoulder and we were there instantly.

The rain had gotten worse as we headed south. We arrived in less than five minutes but to me it seemed like forever, it would have been longer had Sango not brought us here.

I burst through the healer's door only to see a line of supernatural matters waiting for her assistance. "Kaede! I need your help…"

"I'm a little busy."

"She may die; if she does the youkai race is gone. If you don't fix her now I'll kill you." I set her down on the table she usually used for operations.

"Fine… everyone else give us this room… what happened?" She said shutting the door.

"She's a Dark Lighter; Naraku came there and hit her with a blade. It was a witch blade with poison, just please help." I didn't like to plead and beg but I had to for her.

"Inu is this Kagome?" she asked with some concern moving the neck of her shirt to examine the wound.

"Yes…" I answered in a whisper.

"I'll help then. Get my bag boy."

"You old hag, don't order me around." I growled.

"Just get it Inuyasha!" she raised her voice.

I moved away and grabbed her bag, throwing it at her. She caught it with ease. Ruffling through it she pulled out two items: a vile of some blue liquid and a knife.

I watched her with wondering eyes as she cut Kagome's shirt from her body. The old woman knew what she was doing, I knew she did, but I still wanted to charge at her and push her away from my woman, my life.

The girl was in bad shape. The blade was not only poisoned but enchanted also. I put only a drop of the liquid in the vile I took from my bag on to my hands. I worked with the magic, sinking my fingers into her wound making her cry out in blind pain. I grabbed the piece of metal wedged into her flesh and withdrew it. The spell was broken and she woke. She screamed sitting up, clutching the aching bleeding shoulder. "Inuyasha!"

"I'm here I'm right here…" he answered wrapping his arms around her.

She cried into his shoulder, wrapping her legs around him. "I'll leave you two alone."

"Kaede…" he called out behind me. "Thanks."

An: halloo… so we've made it this far… warning I will change the rating next chapter!! Lemon in the future!! Possibly a NC-17 mostly likely R though… I don't really know what to do so it may take longer than I expect but hey it's all good in the end… as for those who are reading my others fics, I am sorry about the delay, I really have been burnt out on them and everything seems forced to me … many thanks to those who have made it this far…
