(Inuyasha's PoV)

 

I was in the mountains and I could smell it. Kagome's and Kouga's scent way to close for comfort. `Curse that Naraku, he was right' I thought bitterly. I looked up at the sky and thought, `Kagome, how could you do this to me?'

 

* * * *

 

I've been traveling for hours following Kagome's scent getting ever closer. I thought about all the good and bad times we had together. `Kagome,' I thought sadly, `Why?'

 

Suddenly I stopped dead in my tracks. I could smell and hear Miroku, Sango, and Kagome. I leapt forward. Into the clearing where they all stood looking shocked.

(3rd PoV)

 

`I miss him terribly,' thought Kagome miserably. She sighed sadly.

 

“She sure is depressed,” Sango whispered to Miroku. “Once we find Inuyasha's human heart she can go back to him,” Miroku whispered back.

 

“HOW DARE YOU KISS THAT WIMPY WOLF!!!!!” a voice suddenly shouted. Inuyasha leapt up and stared at them all angrily.

 

“INUYASHA!!” Kagome cried happily. She tried to run to him, but was stopped by a growl from Inuyasha. “Huh? What's wrong Inuyasha?” Kagome asked confused.

 

“Don't play dumb! I know you kissed Kouga! How could you betray me?” Inuyasha spat at Kagome, hurt obvious in his voice. “What?!” Kagome asked shocked. “I saw it all, you kissed and don't deny it!” Inuyasha said hurt still in his voice. “I didn't kiss him. Do you really think I'd kiss that pathetic excuse for a demon?!” Kagome yelled at him. It was her turn to be hurt and Inuyasha's turn to be confused. “I saw it in Kanna's mirror!” Inuyasha shot back angrily. “HOW DUMB CAN YOU BE?!!!!! Naraku was using you to turn us against each other. I thought you trusted me Inuyasha,” Kagome finished sadly. “Here's what really happened…”

 

Flashback - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

 

“Kagome, my beautiful, now that that mangy mutt is gone you can finally come to me, but I must know what did happen to the mutt?” a black haired youkai with blue eyes said.

 

“Kouga, GIVE UP!!!!!” screeched Kagome, “I DO NOT LOVE YOU!!! I LOVE INUYASHA!!!!”

 

“Kagome, my dear -” Kouga began but was cut off by Kagome, “Stop calling me that, Kouga, I don't love you! I'm going to be Inuyasha's mate… if he'll have me.”

 

“Now Kagome, why on earth would you want that mangy mutt as your mate? He's a hanyou and I'm a full blooded youkai, it makes no sense.” Kouga said exasperatedly.

 

“It's because, Kouga, you are way to cocky and I! AM! IN! LOVE! WITH! INUYASHA!” Kagome said and punctuated each of her last words with a sharp poke to his chest.

 

“But, Kagome-” Kouga started, but Kagome lost her temper. “AAAAHHHHH!!” Kagome screamed. She knocked a sacred arrow on her bow and fired it at Kouga. The arrow nearly hit but he sidestepped it. “Kagome! Be reasonable!” Kouga said as he avoided Kagome's barrage of sacred arrows. Kouga finally gave up and ran away with the usual twister surrounding him. “And stay away,” yelled Kagome triumphantly as Kouga was out of sight.

 

“A little harsh don't you think, Kagome,” Sango asked.

 

End of Flashback - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

 

“Oh,” was the only thing Inuyasha managed out. He could tell she was telling the truth her sent proved that. His bangs hid his eyes as he felt guilt rising up in his chest. Inuyasha ran away, he couldn't take it.

 

“Wait,” Kagome called after Inuyasha. He ignored her.

 

* * * *

 

He didn't stop running he didn't look back. `Why?' Inuyasha thought to himself, `Why did I not trust her? I trust her with my life but I can't trust that she won't cheat on me?' He shook his head and stopped. He looked around and at the clearing he found for himself.

 

Suddenly an emotionless voice called out, “Father?!” He stood up and looked at the source of the noise. He gasped. It was like he was looking at a mirror for minus the garments they were wearing they looked identical. “Inuyasha,” the demon seethed. “Sesshoumaru,” Inuyasha growled.
