Chapter 1: Surprise!
“Sweetheart you'll have a wonderful time I promise.” A man sat at his desk in his office smiling as he spoke to the being in front of him.
“But, it's so far away…and my Japanese isn't that great. How will I survive?” A young girl of seventeen sat crossed legged across from the man. A frown formed on her face as she tried to seek away out of her current situation.
Her father wanted her to go to Japan. She had graduated from high school early and he saw this as taking a year off. A whole year. In Japan. She groaned at the thought.
The man raised his eyebrow at her statement. “Please, spare the tall tales Lana. As I recall, you took an AP course in Japanese and received an `A' plus. Besides, you lived in Japan for five years until you were eight. I know very well that you're fluent.”
ana sighed and looked down. “But Dad…” It was far away. Like on the other side of the planet far. Here she was, in New York City, a place that has everything and her father wanted her to go to Japan. Sure, it would be a cool place to vacation, for a week at most. Her friends, her life, everything she knew was here in America.
As if reading her thoughts, her father spoke up. “I understand that this has been your home. But I truly see this as being a great experience for you. Your friends will not disappear. And in the mean time you can spend time with your relatives. I'm sure your cousin Kagome will be thrilled to see you.”
Lana looked up for a moment. She did miss her relatives. She hadn't seen her cousin since she was thirteen at the last family reunion. Kagome was a year younger than her. Then a thought popped into her head. Maybe going to Japan wouldn't be so bad after all. High school was an important time in a teenager's life. A since she herself was done, who else was better to assist her cousin. “Fine.”
Her father stared at her wide-eyed. “What? That's it? No more arguments, no excuses, no pouting? Who are you and where is my daughter?”
Lana rolled her eyes and smirked at her father. “Haha, dad you're quite the comic. I just actually listened to what you said and the truth is, I miss my family as well. I mean it's not like we have much family anyways.”
Going into his draw, her father pulled out an envelope. “Great, then here is your ticket.” He said handing it to her.
She looked at him as if he had two heads. Slowly, Lana opened the envelope and looked at her day of departure. “Dad! In two days? I just got out of school Friday and you just told me today! How the hell did you know I'd say yes?”
He just sat back in his chair and smiled. “Darling you were going even if I had to drag you there myself.
Lana walked to the gate exit. Her long, straight black hair was pulled up into a high pony tail. Her dark brown eyes sparkled in the sun as she stepped off her own private jet.
"Wow, so this is Japan...", she stated, "what a shit hole!"
Japan is nothing like the Big Apple she thought. As she made her way through the airport and retrieved her luggage (only about 10 huge bags!)she saw a woman with a poster that spelled "Lana".
"Well that must be my auntie." she said half embarrassed that she actually do that.
"Hello dear! You must be famished and your dear cousins, Kagome and Sota can't wait to see you!", said Mrs. Higurashi.
"Hi auntie, I missed you so much, its been so long...four years...I'm sure Kagome misses me but I doubt Sota would even remember me." Lana laughed.
"Yes you may be right.” Mrs. Higurashi stated as they finished putting the bags in and on top of the car.
"I can't wait to eat your cooking auntie."
"Oh that reminds me, Kagome may not be joining us for lunch, she had...errands to run.", said Mrs. Higurashi.
"Hhmm, what kind of errands?” Lana thought.

"Argh! Inuyasha I have to go home now. I have a guess coming over!", Kagome yelled.
"Isn't your mom home?" asked Inuyasha.
"Well she should be...why?", Kagome asked suspiciously.
"Well then...YOUR GUESS WILL JUST HAVE TO WAIT! It's not like they're alone!", Inuyasha screamed.
"But Inuyasha..."
"No! We have search for the jewel shards before Naraku finds more!" Why did she always have to argue? Didn't she understand? Guess not.
"Sit!", Kagome yelled, "I be back in a little while, I'm not even going be gone for a whole day!"
"Fine! But you better come back or I'll..." Inuyasha sensed her annoyance and decided to quit while he was ahead. All he had to say was "Feh!"
With that Kagome left towards the well.
"You see Inuyasha, if you'd only let Lady Kagome finish what she had to say then you wouldn't be eating dirt right now." Miroku smirked.
"Shut the hell up Monk!" the sad hanyou spat.
He missed her already.
~the future
"I'll just take these bags inside and get Sota and granpa to help", said Mrs. Higurashi.
"Ok, I'll be up in just a sec." said Lana.
Just then Lana sensed something. Her powers sensed an aura coming up from the shrine. Those special abilities of hers that her father had mentioned had been miko powers. Lana also had some other secrets that she knew might have to stay secrets for now.
"The hell was that I sensed?" she said.
As she walked up the shrine stairs, she saw a blue light that came from what appeared to be a well house. She had remembered playing in one with Kagome when they were younger. Speaking of Kagome...that's just who she saw coming out the well house. Kagome ran so fast she didn't even see Lana. Lana noticed Kagome in a hurry and decided not to wave at her. Instead she waited and then she made her way to the well house.
"It seems ordinary enough", Lana said. 'but then who am I to judge what looks ordinary and what doesn't' she smirked to herself.
Suddenly, she felt the power again. Then, out of nowhere, she was sucked in the well into the past.
Kagome felt the well's power when it opened. She knew it wasn't Inuyasha. "Huh? What was that?" she thought.
"Oh dear, your home! Did you see you cousin outside?" her mom asked.
"Aw fuck!", Kagome cursed.
~the past
"Whoa that was weird." Lana said still confused. She looked up and realized she was inside the well. Noting that the ladder was some how gone she called out for help. No one. A few moments passed before she heard a voice.
"You need help Lady Kago...huh your not Kagome." said a man with a purple and black robe.
"No I'm not now help me up!" Lana yelled.
"I'll have to go to the village for assistance I'll be back soon..."
"Don't bother", Lana told him. She bent her knees and jumped out of the well.(just like Inuyasha would have done)
"What the hell?", said the somewhat scared monk. Had she jumped out of the well?
"Well I guess I'm not at the shrine anymore", Lana said as she looked around the clearing. The trees seemed to go on and on. She was in a forest. Was she even in Japan anymore?
"You jumped out of the well like a demon but how?" asked Miroku.
Lana stiffened. `Dammit!', she cursed to herself. She had been so impatient to get out of the well she didn't think about the guy in the robes. "Wha? Well I guess I did...huh"

“Move you lowly servants!” shouted a little green toad demon. He had run down the hall in such haste, nearly knocking down many servants who were cleaning. His lord had finally returned to his home after all this time, not knowing of the important letter that awaited him.
“Lord Sesshomaru! Lord Sesshomaru!” He ran into his lord's study realizing too late that he had not knocked first.
Gold eyes narrowed at the toad demon upon entrance. “Jaken, you dare enter without permission.” His voice was cold and monotone.
Jaken gulped. “Forgive me my lord.” Silence was his reply and he mentally sighed. He ad been spared. “There is a letter for you my lord. The servants say that a messenger from the east had brought it some time ago.” He handed the letter to the demon lord.
Moments passed as Sesshomaru read the letter. Jaken sat there in silence as he wondered what the letter might say. Sesshomaru closed his eyes and the letter melted in his clawed hands. “Hn. It seems my time is up.”
Jaken tilted his head in confusion. “My lord?”
Sesshomaru opened his eyes and grinned. To say Jaken went in his pants was an understatement. “It seems that the other lords demand that I produce an heir within the next year or else everything goes to the half-breed.”
“But my lord you have no mate. And would they really entrust your father's lands to a half-demon?” Jaken couldn't believe them! How dare they threaten his lord! He saw that his lord had begun to put his armor back on. “My Lord you are leaving?”
Sesshomaru attached his swords to his side. “It seems that I must find a suitable female to mate. If all of the lords demand it, then they may have their way. They want to make sure that the lands are secured. Since Inuyasha has his human wench, they see him as already having a mate.” He looked at Jaken briefly. “I think that I should pay my half-breed brother visit. I have some stress I would like to relieve.”

"You jumped out of the well like a demon but how?" asked Miroku.
Lana stiffened. `Dammit!', she cursed to herself. She had been so impatient to get out of the well she didn't think about the guy in the robes. "Wha? Well I guess I did...huh"
Lana had looked past the man in purple only to see a man with silver hair and a fluffy white thing on his shoulder. `He's hot.' She thought as she found herself staring at his gold eyes.
Miroku turned into the direction that the strange girl had looked in. He paled at who he saw. "Sesshomaru? What do you want?".
Sesshomaru's eyes narrowed as he regarded the monk and the woman. "I was looking for the half breed of course, but I guess I could amuse myself with his weak friends here.” said the demon lord.
Miroku prepared to defend himself and the mysterious young woman when all of a sudden she began to change.
"Who are you calling weak you asshole!", growled Lana. Her hair became even longer and wavy. It was no longer a simple black but it now had a red tint. Her turned ice grey and she grew fangs and claws. She was simply beautiful. 'I guess I had no choice but to transform, this guy reeks of demon blood! A whole demon at that! I'm sure that monk didn't actually believe he could fight him.' Lana thought.
"Well this is a strange occurrence," said a slightly surprised Sesshomaru, (b/c Sessh is rarely surprised) "I'm sure I saw a mere human and not a demoness."
"Well I hate to burst your bubble but you'll also be seeing stars and feeling pain if you don't back off right now!", Lana yelled.
How dare this woman address him so. She would die for her impudence. "Wench! You must not know who you are speaking to, for I am Lord Sessho..."
BAM!
Lana gave Sesshomaru a left hook just then. The stunned Lord rose from the ground and prepared to teach this bitch a lesson. What a way to relieve stress.
Auhor: I'll try to update soon for those who want more. Until then!
