A/N: As a lot of you can already tell that I have been updating the story. Well at least I am going through all the past chapters and added and removing things and trying my best to fix up any spelling and grammar errors but with it being my own work it is hard to find the mistakes. I had written a lot of this chapter when I didn't have my muse. I read through the thirteen pages that I had and it didn't really flow with the rest of the story and you tell that I was pushing to hard to have a chapter out. So needless to say it sucked and I deleted. And when I was sitting on the couch listening to my relatives talk about stupid pointless things this chapter almost completely formed in my head.

A/N: So here it is. I would first like to say that I am extremely sorry about the late update!!!!!!! And I am eternally gratefully to all my loyal fans that have stuck with me. And I am sssssoooo sorry that the lemon will not be in this chapter. I tried my best to work it into the chapter as I planned it but it would have been rushed and Kagome and Inuyasha need a really good lemon scene.

A/N: So without any more ado here is Chapter Eighteen… finally!!!!! Huggles all Tal!!!!!! Please review and let me know what you think. ^_^

Chapter Eighteen
The Mountain of Light

Inuyasha stood beside Sesshomaru with Tetsusaiga resting on his shoulder. The youkai and Tsunio were finally attacking the kekkai that stood between them and the village. Sesshomaru had ordered Yuki-chan to move to the rear lines as the Tsunio and youkai bombarded the kekkai. Inuyasha turned his gaze from the kekkai to Miroku. He was standing in the front lines as he led the miko and houshi. All the miko and houshi were glowing a soft white colour and with Inuyasha's intense hearing he could just make the chanting that they were doing.

Inuyasha tore is eyes away from Miroku and watched as Sango ran around and ordered the ningen and the youkai warriors into ranks. Inuyasha had to give Sango credit if there was something that Sango was good at it was this. She was after all a trained Taijiya and fighting in a battle like this was natural to her.

It was as if Inuyasha's thoughts were transparent as Sesshomaru turned and glanced at Inuyasha and stated, “For being a ningen that Taijiya knows what she is doing. She is an excellent warrior.”

Inuyasha smirked at Sesshomaru. If he was saying that about a ningen then Sango truly impressed him. Sesshomaru turned away from Inuyasha when he smelt someone coming. A few feet ahead of them was Aiko. He was walking up the slope and towards the two brothers that stood over looking the forming army.

“Sesshomaru-sama the kekkai is falling. We must remove the kekkai as Yuki-chan is falling into darkness.” Aiko stopped just before Sesshomaru.

“What are you talking Aiko? Yuki-chan has light youkai within her.” Inuyasha looked at Yuki-chan and saw that she was now kneeling on the ground just behind the rear lines. She looked like she was having troubles breathing as she slowly started to fade.

“Inuyasha-sama watch the Tsunio that are attacking the kekkai and you will see what it is that I am talking about.”

Inuyasha looked from Yuki-chan to the kekkai. The Tsunio were hitting the kekkai head on but instead off just bouncing off or being killed by the power of the kekkai they were washing over it. It was as if they were trying to find a way into the kekkai or that they were looking for weaknesses in it. Once the Tsunio had washed over about twenty feet of the kekkai they would pool together and leap away from the kekkai only to attack all over again. Inuyasha looked at Yuki-chan and it finally dawned on him what was happening. They are letting themselves be absorbed into the kekkai and then Yuki-chan is tainted by them. That is why she is getting weaker and she is fading.

Inuyasha turned to Sesshomaru who in turn turned towards Aiko, “Aiko go to Miroku and have them called back to the rear lines.”

Inuyasha growled, “Anueu said to keep the kekkai up or the village would fall!”

Sesshomaru looked at Inuyasha through the corner of his eye, “I am leading this army little brother and as such my word is law. You will know your place.”

Inuyasha squared off against Sesshomaru, “So you would go against Anueu's request and let the kekkai fall?”

Sesshomaru turned and walked towards Inuyasha. Inuyasha watched as the great youkai walked towards him with no emotion on his face. Sesshomaru stopped when he was standing beside Inuyasha and Inuyasha's ear was level with his lips. “As long as I lead this army Inuyasha you hold your tongue. Sorano's request is forever on my mind. Now prepare yourself.”

Inuyasha growled but knew that he shouldn't say anything. He knew that if he yelled at Sesshomaru that there was going to be a fight and they had other things to worry about at the moment. Plus if Sesshomaru wasn't going to listen to Anueu's request then he would see to it that the village was protected.

Aiko had just yelled out the order to Miroku when Inuyasha's attention was brought back to the battle at hand. As the miko and houshi ran past the first lines of the army Sesshomaru growled out over the field. It was as if the ground was going to shatter. The first and second lines started to march forward the minute Sesshomaru growled. The sound of there feet was enough to make Inuyasha's head start to spin.

Sango ran over to Kirara and jumped up on her back. Kirara took to the air as the lines started their march down the slight slope of the field. Sango turned and looked at Sesshomaru. Inuyasha looked from Sango to Sesshomaru and then watched as Sesshomaru nodded once to Sango. Sango nodded as she flew forward on Kirara. Sango drew back her arm and with a mighty swing released Hiraikotsu. Hiraikotsu flew through the air and sliced through the ground about ten feet from the kekkai. The gauge was deep and ran the full length of the field in front of the marching army.

Sesshomaru drew out Toukijin as he stepped forward. Sesshomaru glanced over at Inuyasha and Inuyasha walked over to Sesshomaru with Tetsusaiga on his shoulder. Sesshomaru waited until Inuyasha was standing beside him before he turned to Aiko and stated, “Aiko, light up the area.”

Aiko strode forward, just as Miroku and the other miko and houshi reached the rear lines, and he raised his arm into the air. “Kitsune to the ready!”

Inuyasha watched as the Kitsune all stepped front and started to glow. Inuyasha had never seen anything like it before. The whole area was glowing intensely. Inuyasha glanced at Sesshomaru and saw that he had a slight smile on his face. That alone was starting to worry Inuyasha. What is going on here?! Inuyasha jumped slightly as the very air started to crackle and sparkle with the power of the youki that the kitsune were giving off.

Aiko turned slightly as he looked at Sesshomaru. Sesshomaru looked at Aiko and nodded once. Aiko turned around and looked at the field ahead of him. Aiko lowered his arm as he yelled, “Kitsune, light's to the fire!”

The hair on the back of Inuyasha's neck stood on end when the kitsune started to growl and they all started to glow an eerie white blue. Sesshomaru raised Toukijin into the air and yelled, over the growling, “Let the kekkai down!”

Inuyasha started to feel funny as he was lit up with a strange white light. Why does it feel like something is leaving me? Inuyasha looked at Sesshomaru and saw that he too was glowing a soft white colour. Inuyasha gasped as the light flew off his body. Inuyasha blinked a couple of times to get the burning of the light out of his eyes. When Inuyasha could finally see again his jaw dropped in shock. The whole field - from where he was all the way to the edge of the field - was covered in the blue white light of the kitsune-bi. The kekkai was gone and the youkai were making there way into the field. The Tsunio however where being held off by the light of the kitsune-bi.

Sesshomaru walked slightly forward as he yelled over the sound of the youkai to hold the lines. Sango flew over on Kirara and landed beside Sesshomaru. She jumped off Kirara and walked up to Sesshomaru. “The lines are awaiting your order Sesshomaru.”

“Taijiya the youkai smell different.” Inuyasha sniffed the air and had to agree with Sesshomaru. They did smell different but Inuyasha couldn't seem to place the scent.

“They are different. I am sensing that these youkai have traces of the Tsunio in them. They will most likely need to be purified in order to completely destroy them.” Sango tilted her head as the youkai flew up into the air.

Sesshomaru turned away from Sango and called out for Aiko. Aiko turned around and walked towards Sesshomaru. “Aiko have the archer miko fall back to me. When the warriors strike down the youkai have the archers purify them.”

“Hai!” Aiko turned and ran down the slope and towards Miroku. Sesshomaru turned his attention back to Sango.

“Taijiya I want everyone to defend. Inuyasha and I will make sure that none of the youkai get away to attack the village.”

Sango nodded, turned, and ran back to Kirara. In one swift movement she leap back onto Kirara's back and they sailed over the troops. Inuyasha growled as he stocked towards Sesshomaru. “So we are staying at the rear to protect the village? Keh! I could take care of this with my Tetsusaiga.”

Sesshomaru smirked as glanced at Inuyasha. “As my brother you will realize that one only fights when need be. We are the strongest and thus best suited to defend this village if the others fail.”

Inuyasha rolled his eyes as he watched the youkai pool into the field. Inuyasha twitched nervously as the youkai filled the field and blocked the sight of the forest.

“I don't think we have anything to worry about Inuyasha. With Sango flying overhead yelling out orders we will easily make it through this. She is like a beautiful general leading a great army into battle.”

Inuyasha shook his head as Miroku watched Sango yelling orders out to the front lines. Suddenly the ground shook and Miroku almost faced planted himself into the ground, if it wasn't for Inuyasha grabbing onto his robes. “Damn Miroku watch what the hell your doing! You're no good to us if you're hurt.”

Miroku straightened himself out. “What was that?”

“Keh! For watching Sango as closely as you were I thought you would have figured out what that was. Take a look.” Inuyasha jerked his head to the battle and Miroku gasped. It was an all out fight now. The youkai had started the attack. Sango was flying through the youkai as if it was nothing. Her Hiraikotsu flying through the air as she avoided attack after attack.

“Miko make sure that you get all the youkai that fall.” Sesshomaru's eyes were daring all over the place that he was starting to make Inuyasha dizzy. “Houshi.” Miroku glanced over at Sesshomaru.

“Hai?” Sesshomaru turned his attention away from the battle for a moment to get the monks attention.

“I want you to find Umi and get her to get more arrows for the miko. I don't want any of these youkai to survive.” Miroku bowed and ran down the field looking for Umi.

Suddenly the youkai started to pull back. Inuyasha watched in mixed confusion as the youkai made their way away from the field and back towards the cover of the trees. “What the hell are they doing? They are giving up pretty easily if you ask me.” Inuyasha glanced at Sesshomaru and saw that he had the same look on his face that he did.

“Aiko.”

“Hai Sesshomaru-sama?” Inuyasha did a double take. When the hell did he come back?

“Call the lines back. Something isn't right.” Sesshomaru had barely finished his sentenced when a lone figure walked out of the trees and towards the large groove that Sango had made in the ground.

“Who the hell is that?” Inuyasha growled low in his throat. He had no idea who this man was but there was something about him that just didn't sit right with the hanyou.

“SESSHOMARU!!” Inuyasha jumped slightly at the booming voice and turned to look at Sesshomaru. Sesshomaru narrowed his eyes and glared at the figure. The figure was tall and was dressed all in black. Inuyasha couldn't tell if he wore armor or not because of his long flowing black cloak. But what Inuyasha could see was that the figure had shoulder length deep violet hair, pointed ears, and a strange marking on his neck. Youkai!

“Yoshifumi…” Inuyasha glanced at Sesshomaru. He knows this youkai? What did he just say? Was that a name? What the hell is going on! Inuyasha was more then a little confused now and it was starting to really piss him off.

The youkai walked a little farther into the field and stopped mere inches away from the groove in the ground. “SESSHOMARU!” Inuyasha looked from Sesshomaru to the youkai and back again. Sesshomaru jumped when he suddenly heard Sesshomaru growling. It was soft but it sent shivers down his spine. Inuyasha had never heard that kind of growling coming from Sesshomaru before.

Inuyasha was becoming more and more aware of the fact that the entire field was now silent. Even Sango and Kirara had landed and were looking from one youkai to the other. The silence was only broken by the growling coming from Sesshomaru and if the person didn't have the hearing of a youkai then they probably didn't even hear the sound.

Inuyasha growled in frustration as he started to walk towards the youkai. Inuyasha had barely taken two steps when something white and silver blocked his path. “Sesshomaru…”

An evil laugh broke over the field and Inuyasha peeked out from behind Sesshomaru to see that it is the youkai that was laughing. “After sixty years you would think that you would have changed. But you are still as protective over your little brother as always.”

Inuyasha really fell over at the statement. Protective my ass! He tries to kill me every chance he gets! Inuyasha was about to yell this fact to the youkai when Sesshomaru growled at him. Inuyasha backed away. What the hell was that?! He is growling at me? But I… I know that growl. I've heard him do it before… when I was doing something that… he didn't like… Inuyasha shook his head to clear his mind. Now was not the time to try and place the growl. They had more important things to be worrying about.

“How is that you are here Yoshifumi.” Sesshomaru's voice was as cold as ever and it made the fine hairs on Inuyasha's neck stand on end. But what surprised Inuyasha more was the fact that Sesshomaru kept moving as to block Inuyasha from Yoshifumi's view.

“How am I here? That is of no concern. I am here and that is all you need to know. Now why I am here is another matter.”

Sesshomaru cocked an eyebrow at the youkai and remained silent. His growling was getting louder and Inuyasha noticed that Sango was now moving away from the Taiyoukai. Yoshifumi laughed again. “Ah, a youkai of little words. I always did need to spell out my reasons to you didn't I. I am here for two very important reasons. So I will come out and say it. I want your little brother's head and my mate.”

Sesshomaru laughed and it scared the daylights out of Inuyasha. He's… he's laughing?? This can not be good! “No one is going to kill Inuyasha. I will be the only one that will kill him. As for your mate. There is no one here that is your mate. I would have smelt your scent on her if they were your mate.”

“I'll tell you what Sesshomaru. Hand over your brother and my mate I will let the village live. Sounds like a good idea doesn't it.”

Sesshomaru smirked as his shook his head. “And you still do not like to listen. I already told once the answer to that question. Now be gone or I will make you leave.”

Yoshifumi glared at Sesshomaru. “I think it is you who is not listening. Hand over my mate. I want the Sacred Miko and your brother and I will not leave until I have them both.”

“Sacred Miko? The Sacred Miko is your mate?” Sesshomaru raised Toukijin and pointed it at Yoshifumi. “The Sacred Miko is not your mate.”

Inuyasha had heard enough. No one talked about Kagome that way and lived. She belonged to him and no one else. Kagome was his mate and he would sooner die then hand her other to this fucking youkai. Inuyasha started to growl as his eyes flashed red. His youki was running through his veins at the threat to his mate. Inuyasha was about to move again and again Sesshomaru growled at him. Inuyasha's eyes returned to normal after hearing it and again Inuyasha was dumbfounded as to the meaning of the growl.

“Yoshifumi the Sacred Miko belongs to Inuyasha and no one, save him, is going to touch her.” Sesshomaru backed up a little more and Inuyasha was forced to move back as well, much to his annoyance.

“This worthless hanyou the Sacred Miko's mate…” Yoshifumi threw is head back and laughed. Inuyasha growled even louder, “I never knew you had a sense of humor Sesshomaru. That hanyou of a brother of yours is nothing but a waste of space. He is a blemish on the name youkai. She will be mine. Now hand her over!”

Inuyasha tried to side step Sesshomaru. He wanted blood and he wanted it now. No one talked about him that way and lived. He would show this Yoshifumi that he was more powerful then he thought he was. He would rip him apart with Tetsusaiga. “You fucking bastard! No one talks about my Kagome like that! I am going to fucking kill you!”

Suddenly the earth gave an almighty shake and, since Inuyasha was trying to get out from behind Sesshomaru, he stumbled forward and right into Sesshomaru's back. “What the hell…” The wind started to pick up and the sky clouded over. Lightning streaked the sky as the clouds merged and fought in a never-ending battle for dominance.

In the distance an all mighty roar ripped through the air. Inuyasha turned around and stood in shock at what his eyes beheld. A huge rumbling cloud of dust was billowing into the air behind the temple. Inuyasha jumped slightly as a loud growl rented the air followed by the same roar that was heard earlier.

“Oh my god… the villagers…” Inuyasha gasped as he watched the dust rise higher and higher into the air. Sesshomaru turned around and watched in horror at the unfolding events. Sesshomaru was about to take off towards the gardens that held the villagers when a light giggle was heard behind him.

Sesshomaru and Inuyasha slowly turned around looked in shock at Yuki-chan. She was standing a few feet away from them and she was glowing a soft pale sakura colour. Yuki-chan giggled as she looked from Sesshomaru to Inuyasha and then finely turned around to glared at Yoshifumi.

“Oh my Fumi-chan she is really angry with.” Yuki-chan giggled again at the look on Yoshifumi's face.

“Don't. Call. Me. That.” Yoshifumi was glaring at Yuki-chan and gritted out every word.

“teh he… I would be more worried about her then what I call you Fumi-chan.” Yuki-chan clasped her hands in front of her and swayed herself in a very child like manner.

Yoshifumi growled out, “Who are you…” Suddenly a bright streak of fuchsia light came flying across the field and straight at Yoshifumi. Yoshifumi barely jumped out of the way in time as the light destroyed all the youkai that were standing behind him.

Yuki-chan laughed as a roar and growl pierced the air. Sesshomaru turned around to face the temple once again. “It can't be…”

Out of the dust streaked a large silver neko and on top of the neko sat Kagome. Inuyasha sighed in relief at the site of her. Thank Kami-sama! My Kagome is all right… but she looks like she is ready to kill.

***

Kagome looked at the field before herself. It was covered in burn marks, dead youkai, injured Kitsune and… the figure in the forest line… I know that youkai…

Kagome gripped Shin tighter as they flew closer to the battlefield. Kagome scanned the battlefield and her eyes landed on a familiar red and silver figure. Kagome could feel her heart speed up. Kagome sighed in relief as she looked at her beloved hanyou. Kagome turned her gaze away from Inuyasha and glared at the figure in the tree line. Kagome could feel herself starting to growl. Okay girl you know you have hung around Inuyasha to long when.

“Shin lets go!” Shin roared as he flew closer to the forest. Once they reached about mid way down the field Shin stopped and Kagome glared once again at the figure in the trees. He was gazing at Kagome with eyes so full of lust that it made her feel nauseous.

Kagome raised her bow once again and notched an arrow to it. “How dare you talk about Inuyasha in that manner! I will not let you talk about my mate like that!”

Kagome could practically feel Inuyasha grinning up at her. I don't why he is grinning. I told Inuyasha that we were going to be together forever. I want to be his mate and I will not let anyone talk about him in that manner. The figure grinned as he stared at Kagome. “I think you are confused my little miko. That hanyou is not your mate he…”

Kagome growled as she released her arrow. It burst into a streak of miko energy and shot straight at the figure. Yoshifumi growled as he barely jumped out of the way. Kagome watched as her arrow destroyed all the youkai and Tsunio that were standing around and behind where Yoshifumi was once standing. Once the debris from the youkai and the Tsunio cleared Kagome could see the youkai standing about twenty feet from where her arrow hit.

“I see that you have a problem listening youkai. Then I will let my actions speak for me.” Kagome reached behind her and pulled out another arrow from her quiver and notched it to her bow and fired it again at the youkai. That youkai will learn even if I have to destroy him. I do not belong to him! Kagome was almost single handedly destroying all the youkai and Tsunio as she fired arrow after arrow at Yoshifumi.

Yoshifumi growled in frustration at the fact that he could not attack. Kagome was firing the arrows in such a rapid succession that he could only jump out of the way. Yoshifumi glared at Kagome as he yelled, “Tsunio. Youkai. Attack!” Kagome watched in awe as the youkai charged into the clearing and started to attack the Kitsune that were making the kitsune-bi to keep the Tsunio at bay.

The once quiet and serene field erupted once again in screams and growls of the youkai that Yoshifumi unleashed. “Shin let's destroy this threat once and for all! No talks about Inuyasha like that and lives!” Shin roared as he dived at the youkai. Kagome notched another arrow to her bow and fired. The arrow purified the youkai that were attacking five Kitsune warriors near the front lines. “Go to the rear and order all the others to follow. I will handle this. Help the injured and get everyone back!”

“Hai Miko-sama!” The Kitsune took off yelling orders to the other. Kagome looked over her shoulder and spotted Yuki-chan standing by Sesshomaru. She was glowing brighter and brighter. Good, Sorano said that she had something that she needed to take off before she would come and help. But that was a long time ago and now she is nowhere to be seen. I hope she hurries. But she did say that when Yuki-chan started to glow that that means that she is not that far away.

Kagome yelped as Shin dived to the right and narrowly avoided being hit by a wave of youkai. Right I need to pay attention to the battle at hand. Kagome gave her head a quick shake as she fired off another arrow into the pooling youkai.

“KAGOME-CHAN!” Kagome looked up from her target and grinned as Sango and Kirara flew towards them.

“Sango-chan! Are you okay?” Sango pulled up close to Kagome and grinned at her.

“I am fine Kagome-chan. But how are you? Are you okay!” Kagome smiled and nodded once to Sango.

“I am now. But we have other things that need to be taken care of. We must hurry and stop the youkai before they attack all the Kitsune that are making the kitsune-bi.”

“Hai!” Sango raised Hiraikotsu and shot it off at a large group of youkai. They youkai hissed as the large bone boomerang sliced through them like butter.

It was now an all out battle. Kagome was starting to breathe heavily as the youkai seemed to keep coming. It was taking everything she had to stop the youkai. But there was just to many and now the Kitsune were starting to get tried as their kitsune-bi were starting to dim. We have to finish this and we need to finish it now!

Shin doubled back and avoided a fresh wave of youkai that were trying to unseat Kagome. “Shin we need to last. Sorano said that she would come and I know that Aun is getting ready for her. He could smell her on me. I have faith in you Shin. Together we can do this.”

Shin growled out at Kagome and she grinned. “That's a boy! Now let's go again.”

***

Inuyasha watched in amazement as Kagome flew all across the sky on the silver neko. He had never seen Kagome look so determined before. But that still didn't help the fact that Inuyasha was worried to death about her well being. Not to mention that his youkai blood was wreaking havoc on him to go and help her. To protect her in anyway that he could.

Inuyasha grinned again as he recalled what Kagome had yelled at Yoshifumi. She had admitted to being his mate and Inuyasha knew that his youkai blood was extremely pleased to hear that coming from her mouth. He now had Kagome's approval to become his mate and he was going to act on that the second that he could.

“Inuyasha get ready. The Kitsune will not be able to hold out much longer. The Tsunio well kill everyone and anything that gets in their way.” Sesshomaru moved aside and let Inuyasha walk forward to stand at his side.

Inuyasha nodded as he raised Tetsusaiga. Suddenly Tetsusaiga pulsated in his hand. “What the… Tetsusaiga…”

“Is reacting to Kagome-chan.” Inuyasha looked to his side and saw Yuki-chan grinning up at him, “Inu-chan look at the markings that Kagome-chan's and your blood made on the Iron Fang.”

Inuyasha looked at the base of the Tetsusaiga and gasped. The interlocking design was glowing red and fuchsia. As Inuyasha watched the pattern the blade once again pulsated. Tetsusaiga is trying to tell me something. I can feel a great power within the Tetsusaiga again. It was like that time that Kagome and I were in the forest and the Tsunio were attacking us. Inuyasha growled and covered his eyes as the Tetsusaiga exploded in a flash of red and fuchsia light. Slowly Inuyasha lowered his arm and gasped at the sight of his Tetsusaiga. It looked like it was transparent but swarming throughout the blade were wisps of red and fuchsia light giving his blade a shell like look.

Inuyasha was brought out of daze by the giggling of Yuki-chan. Inuyasha looked up from his blade and saw Yuki-chan and Sesshomaru both staring at the new Tetsusaiga. “Now Inuyasha your Tetsusaiga has the power to destroy the Tsunio.” Sesshomaru grinned as he turned around and looked at the battle ahead of him, “Use the Kazi no Kasu to your hearts content Inuyasha.”

Inuyasha smirked as he raised Tetsusaiga over his head. He could feel the wind gathering around the blade as he brought the blade down in a wide arch. The Wind Scar launched from the Tetsusaiga with such force that Inuyasha had to dig his feet into the earth to stop himself from sliding back. The Wind Scar launched across the field as it made its way towards the youkai and Tsunio that were entering the field. Suddenly the field filled with horrid screams and hisses as the youkai and Tsunio were destroyed by the power of Inuyasha's new Kazi no Kasu.

Inuyasha grinned as he held Tetsusaiga out before him. Now my Tetsusaiga is even more powerful. I wonder what else it can do… Inuyasha was brought out of his thoughts by an all to familiar scream. Inuyasha looked up and started to growl. High in the sky Kagome and the silver neko were bound tightly by numerous ribbons of Tsunio. Inuyasha could see Kagome fighting to get herself free and the growling of the silver neko were near ear piercing to the sensitive hearing of the hanyou.

“Kagome!” Inuyasha lowered Tetsusaiga as he ran out into the field towards Kagome. Inuyasha winced as Kagome screamed again as the Tsunio wrapped themselves more tightly around Kagome and the silver neko. Inuyasha stopped suddenly as a burst of lightning crashes down in front of him. “No!!” Inuyasha shielded his eyes as dust and earth is shot into the air.

Inuyasha jumped back as another burst of lightning hits the Tsunio that are holding Kagome. No!! Kagome! What the hell is going on! Inuyasha growled out as Kagome was completely engulfed in lightning. “KAGOME!!” Inuyasha's attention was distracted slightly as something jumped from the trees and right into the orb of lightning. Inuyasha blinked as if he was seeing things. The thing was moving to quickly for Inuyasha to see what it was.

The field was suddenly filled with screams and hisses as the Tsunio that were holding Kagome and the silver neko started to disintegrate. Inuyasha could feel something coming and turned just in time to watch as Aun landed gracefully beside him. “Aun…” All of a sudden the orb of lightning holding Kagome exploded. Inuyasha raised his arm to block out the intensity of the light.

“It can't be…!” Inuyasha glanced sideways and saw Aiko standing a few feet away from him. The look on his face was that of complete shock. Inuyasha slowly lowered his arm and gasped at what his eyes beheld.

Flowing down, as if by wings, was Sorano. She was cradling Kagome and a small silver neko in her arms. Sorano's feet hit the ground and Inuyasha rushed to her. Sorano smiled as Kagome slowly opened her eyes and blinked sheepish up at Sorano as a smile spread across her face. “Arigato Sorano. But you're lat…” Inuyasha reached Kagome before she could finish her sentence and instantly had her wrapped in his arms tightly.

Inuyasha nuzzled his face into Kagome long raven locks and inhaled deeply. Inuyasha wrapped his arms even more securely around Kagome as he let her scent wash over him. She's okay. I don't smell any blood. My Kagome… Inuyasha was brought out of his thoughts by the sound of Kagome's giggling.

“What's so funny!” Inuyasha pulled away just enough to look Kagome in the face.

Kagome leaned up and gently kissed Inuyasha's cheek. “You were purring Inuyasha.”

“Keh!” Inuyasha looked into Kagome's arms and saw the small silver neko laying asleep. “Who's this?”

“Oh!” Kagome pulled away from Inuyasha and he growled. But either Kagome didn't hear it or she wasn't paying any attention to him. “Shin! Wake up! Are you okay! Shin!” Inuyasha watched as two large silver eyes blinked slowly open. “Thank Kami-sama!”

“SORANO-SAMA!” Inuyasha looked over his shoulder as Yuki-chan came running down the field and leapt through the air.

“Yuki-chan,” Sorano held out her arms and easily caught the over excited kitsune in her arms. Yuki-chan nuzzled as close as she could to Sorano and hugged her tightly. “Yuki-chan I have missed you. But right now we have other matters to attend to.” Yuki-chan pulled away and nodded to Sorano as she leapt down and bowed slightly.

“Sorano…” Inuyasha grinned as Sesshomaru was now standing only a few feet away from Sorano. Sorano looked from Yuki-chan to Sesshomaru and smiled.

“Sesshomaru,” Sorano bowed and then walked towards Sesshomaru. “How I have missed you. Alas I am still but a memory but I will remember this meeting. Will be together soon my love and then I will never leave your side again.”

Sorano stopped just in front of Sesshomaru and in a blink of an eye Sesshomaru reached forward and pulled Sorano to him as he hugged her tightly to him. Sorano wrapped her arms around Sesshomaru and let her head rest over Sesshomaru's heart.

“Well isn't this touching. I must say that for wanting me not to get my mate and the hanyou you are making it pretty easy for me to do.” Inuyasha glanced away from Sesshomaru and Sorano and into the direction that the voice was coming from. There standing about half way up the field was Yoshifumi. Inuyasha growled deep in his throat as he moved Kagome behind him.

Sorano pulled away from Sesshomaru and glared at Yoshifumi. “Well if it isn't Yoshifumi. I thought I smelt you when I was on my way here. But you carry the same scent as I do. You're not really here. You are but a memory as well and as a memory I know that you have limited power.”

Yoshifumi cocked an eyebrow as he stared down Sorano. “The only smart one in the group. Too bad you are sealed. I would have loved to fight you at your best.”

Sorano laughed as she shook her head. “Even at my best Yoshifumi you were no match you me or my Sesshomaru.”

Yoshifumi growled at Sorano. Sorano just grinned at she looked past him into the forest. Inuyasha followed his Anueu's sight and gasped at the forest. It was all a glow with an eerie soft pastel sakura colour. Kagome glanced over Inuyasha's shoulder and gasped as well. “So that is what you were doing Sorano. I was starting to wonder what was taking you so long. But now I see.”

Sorano turned from glazing at the forest and nodded at Kagome. “Yuki-chan.”

Yuki-chan ran up to stand beside Sorano. “Hai Sorano-sama?”

“Raise the kekkai again. Draw on my energy to do so.” Yuki-chan looked like she wanted to argue but didn't. Yuki-chan ran further up the field and in a flash of white light was instantly transformed into to her large fox demon form. Yuki-chan growled out and Inuyasha could feel something leaving him again. This isn't like before. Last time it felt like I was losing apart of myself and now I feel like I am losing energy. Is this Yuki-chan's doing? Inuyasha glanced at Sesshomaru and saw that he too was glowing slightly but what surprised Inuyasha even more was the fact that Sorano was glowing a soft sakura colour as well.

“Do you honestly believe that I would allow you to replace the kekkai?” Yoshifumi raised his hand into the air as his youki started to pool into an energy ball. “I will destroy you all!”

Inuyasha growled as he raised Tetsusaiga. “I don't think so! Kazi no Kasu!!” Inuyasha swung Tetsusaiga down and released the Kazi no Kasu straight at Yoshifumi. Yoshifumi yelled out, as he was hit head on by the wind scar.

“I am but a memory!! I will get what is mine!” Yoshifumi's laughs could still be heard as his body vanished into the trails ends of the wind scar.

“Keh!” Inuyasha grinned as the kekkai started to pool around the village. The youkai and Tsunio hissed and growled as they tried to get into the safety of the trees before the kekkai was completed.

“What fools those creatures be,” Inuyasha turned and watched as Sorano raised a hand and the whole forest exploded in mini explosions of sakura light. “They didn't think that I would allow them to live if they managed to escape before the kekkai was complete.”

Inuyasha looked up and watched as the kekkai domed over heard and with a slight pop the kekkai was back in place. Yuki-chan growled and flashed a bright white colour as she changed back into her original humanoid form. Inuyasha turned his attention once again back to Kagome and grinned. Kagome placed Shin on the ground as she jumped into Inuyasha's arms.

Sesshomaru ignored his brother and the miko as they embraced once again. He was more concerned for his Sorano. She was breathing heavily as she killed off the remaining youkai and Tsunio that were on the other side of the kekkai. Sesshomaru knew that the Kitsune, miko and houshi would handle any and all threats that remained on this side of the kekkai. Sesshomaru inhaled deeply as Sorano's scent washed over him. It was faint but that was due to the fact the she was not the real Sorano.

Sorano lowered her arm with a groan. Suddenly Sorano gasped as she started to fall backwards. “Sorano!” Sesshomaru leapt forward and caught her in his good arm before she hit the ground. Her breathing was ragged and she was extremely pale. She had her eyes closed as she concentrated on her breathing.

“I guess… I don't… ha…have much time… left…” Sorano gasped out between her erratic breathing.

“Sorano…” Sesshomaru pulled her closer and released some of his youki into her.

“Save your… youki my beloved… I am but a memory. I must tell you all some… important things before I return to… my body…” Sorano opened her eyes and glazed in Sesshomaru's.

“Anueu!”

“Sorano!”

Inuyasha and Kagome were instantly kneeling before Sorano. “Inuyasha…” Sorano raised a shaky hand and gently cupped Inuyasha's cheek. “I have longed… to see you again.”

Inuyasha raised his hand and placed it over Sorano's hand as he nuzzled into the feeling. “Anueu… why don't I remember everything about you? Why can't I recall a time really knowing you? I know that you are my Anueu but everything else is a blur.”

“Always so full of questions… my little Inuyasha. But I can't tell you… all I know you… wish to hear. Only know this. I will explain every..thing once I have been… unsealed and I am walking amongst… you all again.” Sorano blinked hard as she tried to focus.

Sesshomaru looked down towards Sorano's feet and saw that Yuki-chan had curled herself up into a ball and was silently crying for her master. “You all must know…” Sesshomaru drew his eyes back to his precious Sorano in his arms. “That Kagome has… found the third item of… darkness.” Sesshomaru growled at Sorano's pain and gently pulled her into a better sitting position.

“Kagome found the third item,” Inuyasha grinned at Kagome and Kagome nodded as she place a hand on the jewel on her chest.

“Yes Inuyasha. Now all that is left… is to find my sword, Otoru… Yuki-chan do you know where… it is?”

Yuki-chan sat up slightly and nodded, “Hai.”

“Then my dear… you know where I am… sealed.” Sorano closed her eyes and gripped tightly onto Sesshomaru's forearm. Sesshomaru nuzzled into Sorano's neck and growled comfortingly in his throat to ease Sorano's pain.

“You are sealed with Otoru? But how can that be! Hitomi-chan would have told me that that was where you were. Why didn't she tell me?” Yuki-chan sat all the way up and was pouting.

“Do not be angry with… Hitomi Yuki-chan. I needed to be… sealed with my sword… I will explain later… Yuki-chan you need to… leave at once… there is no more time…” Sorano shuttered and gasped for air. “My time is up…”

“Sorano-sama!!!” Yuki-chan grabbed onto Sorano's leg as she started to cry harder, “Please don't leave again!”

“I have one last gift to… give be..fore… I go… All for.. you my… Sesshomaru…” Sorano leaned back into Sesshomaru and started to glow. Sesshomaru watched in amazement as Sorano's remaining youki washed over him.

Sesshomaru growled out in pain as it felt like something was being forced from his body. `Do not fight it my love.' Sesshomaru gasped as Sorano's voice filled his thoughts. `This is my gift to you. If you do not fight it then it will cause you know pain.' Sesshomaru nodded and closed his eyes as the youki of Sorano washed over him and blocked him from everyone's view.

Sesshomaru didn't know how long he had been out. It could have been minutes, hours or even days. His body felt heavy and his left side was throbbing in time to his own heartbeat. Inuyasha's voice pierced through his hazy mind as he slowly opened his eyes to see the sky over head.

“It is back at father's grave! How the hell did it return!”

“Inuyasha you should be happy that it is back.”

“Happy!? HAPPY! Why the hell should I be happy!”

“Mou! Inuyasha!!”

“Keh!!”

“Osuwari!!”

Sesshomaru smirked at the sudden sound of Inuyasha plowing himself into the ground. “Inuyasha you should really learn to keep that mouth of yours shut.”

A muffled reply reached Sesshomaru's ears and he grinned to himself. “Maru-chan are you okay?” Sesshomaru turned his head slightly and looked into the concerned ridden face of Yuki-chan.

“What happened to me?”

Yuki-chan smiled, “Your arm has returned!”

“What!” Sesshomaru looked down at his left side and saw what was causing the throbbing pain. His arm had indeed returned. Sesshomaru furrowed his brow as his tried to move his fingers. Slowly the fingers curled into a fist and Sesshomaru found that the more he tried to move his hand the less the pain became. Sesshomaru slowly sat up as he flexed his arm.

“Sorano gave you the gift of your arm Sesshomaru,” Kagome smiled at Sesshomaru.

“She used the last of her memory to repair the missing limb,” Yuki-chan was now jumping around excited.

“I fear that she will not be able to return to us again as a memory.”

“I believe that you are right Kagome.”

Yuki-chan jumped over and landed on Sesshomaru's lap. “That's okay because I know where Sorano-sama is sealed. We can leave at once!”

“Where is Anueu Yuki-chan,” Inuyasha had finally managed to drag himself out of his own crater.

Yuki-chan giggled as she pointed to the east. “Sorano-sama is due east of here. It was about a two day journey. She is sealed in the Mountain of Light!”
