Chapter 1

Betrayal

“INUYASHA!” Kagome screamed as Kikyou shot another arrow at her. Kagome had numerous wounds and wasn't well enough to fight. ` Damn, my vision is starting to get blurry.' She dodged another arrow. ` And where are Inuyasha and the others, urgg.. I am going to SIT Inuyasha to oblivion for this…ahhh…Inuyasha, Sango, Miroku, Shippo, where are you..I can't hold out much longer.' Kikyou had cornered her to the God Tree (the tree Inuyasha was pinned to) and Kagome could hardly move. “ How does it feel Kagome, to be helpless and innocent?” Kikyou asked in her emotionless voice. “How does it feel to know Inuyasha isn't coming for you?” she continued. “ He…will….come…I..know…he…will…” Kagome wheezed. Short quick breaths were her breathing status now. She was losing oxygen and blood…fast. She wished Kikyou would just kill her and be done with it. The bloodloss was starting to get to her and she could barely see anymore. Kikyou notched an arrow and pointed it at Kagome. “ Kagome, do not worry, I will shoot for your heart so you can die quickly. I am not that evil you know. I have left you suffering long enough for Inuyasha to come and save you. But it just proves you will no longer be a problem between us. Inuyasha does not care about you Kagome and that is why he hasn't come and saved you. Oh well. Good- Bye Kagome!” Kikyou let the arrow hit its target. ` Inuyasha why didn't you come for me??' Kagome thought as the arrow raced towards her. As if on cue, Inuyasha tackled Kagome to the ground as the arrow zoomed by. Kikyou grunted in frustration. ` Well, I did have a plan for this.' She carefully pulled out a sphere full of red liquid.

“ Kagome, Kagome, come on wake up wench!” Inuyasha shouted at an unconscious Kagome. He saw her wounds and knew she was near death. He mentally slapped himself for letting this happen. “Inuyasha!!” The group shouted. They had just gotten there to see the scene in front of them. Sango was glaring daggers at Kikyou before a familiar voice caught hers and the rest of the groups' attention. “Inu…yash…a?” Kagome opened her eyes from the darkness and looked up. “ Kagome, your okay!” Inuyasha replied. “I am alive if t-that's w-what y-you mean.” She struggled to get to her feet. The hanyou helped her at will. Once she was up…..Kikyous' soul collectors wrapped around the group. They struggled to get free but with no avail. Only Kagome, Kikyou, and Inuyasha remained untied. Then Inuyasha felt a strange and overwhelming feeling. ` What is this?' He wondered.

Kikyou squeezed the sphere tighter hoping for a response. ` Do not fight it Inuyasha, I will have control over you.' “ Inuyasha are you ok………” Inuyashas claws raked across Kagomes back. ` Kagome…NOOOOO!!!' “Kagome!” Sango and Shippo shouted. “ Inuyasha what are you doing?” Miroku screamed. ` I don't know Miroku…but I want it to stop…' “……Inu…Inu…..yasha….why…. are you..?” Kagome finished her sentence by coughing up a mouthful of blood. She knew for sure she was gonna die now. Instead of pulling away from Inuyasha though…..she gave him the biggest hug she could conjure up. Only to get more gashes on her chest and on her left arm. She fell back and looked at Kikyou. There was the aura that was radiating of Inuyasha right now. ` Well if I am gonna die… I am gonna die with Inuyasha being free.' She gathered up all of her strength and charged at Kikyou with Inuyasha behind her. She quickly knocked the spear from Kikyous hand and ran. Inuyasha cornered her on a cliff with rushing rapids at its pit. The gang broke free of the soul collectors and ran to catch up. They found them moments later. With Kikyou staring at Inuyasha, who had Testsiga pointed at Kagome. “ Inu…yash….a please…LISTEN!!!” It was too late. “Wind Scar!” Inuyasha shouted. “ Kagome!” The group called after her. “ Good job Inuyasha!” Kikyou congratulated. “ I love you Inuyasha.” Kagome said for only the one person that could hear it. ` What have I done?' Inuyasha screamed in his mind. The sphere that was controlling Inuyasha shattered when Kagome hit the jagged rocks and rushing water at the bottom of the cliff. And Inuyashas' blood was gladly released from the sphere.
