Chapter 6

What Happened?

“Mom, I am home…hello is anybody here…..?” Kagome stopped dead strait in her tracks. “Mom. What is he doing here?” Kagome couldn't believe her eyes…..her step father was back… `First Inuyasha attacking me…now this…' Kagome thought. “What? You act like you don't want to see your old man!” He shouted with glee. Before Kagome could object he had her in a bone crushing hug. “Leggo of me you bastard!!!” KAGOME SCREAMED!! She ran to her room as fast as her legs and wounds would allow her. After a lot of persuading from her mother Kagome came down for dinner. She stared daggers at her step-father…`Why would Mom, let him in the house? I mean yeah sure shes been lonely…but why would he come back….I just don't know about him……..I wonder what my real dad was like….' She thought until she was suddenly interrupted. “Kugar, stop staring at me like that…I know what I did a long time ago is wrong…..I do know that….but I came back…to…to…try and make it up to you…..I thought you would want a father figure back in the house…” This is where kagome bursted. “YOU KNOW WHAT I DON'T NEED A FATHER FIGURE I NEED MY REALFATHER!!!!SPEAKING OF MY FATHER DON'T CALL ME KUGAR THAT'S MY NAME FOR HIM AND HIM ONLY!!!” Kagome screeched but she didn't run away like she usually did when she yelled at Inuyasha …no….she stood her ground and stared him strait in the eye.Now she really didn't know her father very well. He died when she was 3. But she remembered his jet black hair, and brown eyes, and his kinda long nails and teeth.It was extremely silent. anda bit awkward…know Souta didn't like his step-father either….but he didn't want his big sis getting hurt by him again….he shuddered as the memory of Kagome standing in front of him to protect him. `She had to stay in the hospital for a week.' Their dad was avery abusive alcoholic. He and Kagome had been through a lot…and she knew that she dislike….no wait…that wasn't the word…..she UTTERLY LOATHED Nusha their father…..and now that he showed up again didn't make his sister too happy. He was still a child 8 about to be 9. He wasn't ready to be physically or emotionally hurt again. `And I am sure that Kagome doesn't want to either.' So Souta eager to be breaking the silence. So he asked aninnocent yet very wrong question….”Hey sis, is Inuyasha going to come get you soon?” Kagome shielded her eyes with her bangs. “No Souta, Inuyasha will probably never come back…” Kagome answered. `Plus…he thinks I am dead…and I don't think he will be able to face my mom and tell her that…I hope….' She thought as well. Souta knew not to ask any more question since his beloved big sister had tears on her cheeks. Nusha gave Souta a look as to say `Who's Inuyasha?' Souta, his mom Nani, and his grandfather Cuso, replied with a look that said, `We will explain the whole thing later.' `Yeah right,' Souta thought, `Mom is not gonna tell him about the well, she has a plan, I know she does…' After a very gloomy dinner, Kagome asked to be excused and Nani's plan went into action. Her dad, Cuso, being as stupid as he is tried to start. “Inuyasha is a half….” But Nani quickly stopped him. “Kagomes half-Americanboyfriend!” Nani finishedwhile giving her father the evil eye. He caught on and kept his mouth shut. “You see him and Kagome have just broken up, and she is heart broken she really loved him. They were even raising a small child they found in the woods, and then Shippo, the kid, made them run into Sango and Mirkou you see and…..” Nani kinda made to where Naraku was a gang member and Kagome was part of the Resistance to stop him. After being told this fancy tale Nusha was speechless. But he didn't drink and was trying to be the best father…okay maybe not father….step-dad he could be....but then one night….him and Nani went to a bar. And they continually went and went…Until Nani eventually became an alcoholic. That's when things started to go wrong.
