Chapter 9

A Tragic Fate

“Ah, that was refreshing but we are probably gonna be in soooo much trouble if we don't get back before they wake up.” Kagome told a now `pepped up' Souta. “Oh well, I think it was worth….” Kagome stopped in mid-sentence. She saw smoke coming from the direction of the shrine. `NOO!!' Kagome screamed in her mind and screamed out loud, “Come on Souta.” Kagome went into a sprint. Souta followed as fast as he could not far behind. Kagome climbed and stumbled on the stairs. `Please let everyone be okay.' She thought. She approached the shrine and found it set ablaze. Only two words escaped her mouth as she look at the three people in front of her. “N-N-Naraku…….K-K-Kikyou…..”

(Meanwhile)

Sesshomaru was walking the direction to the Bone Eaters Well. `I know I told Kagome I would check on her but some things came up.' The 12 year old Rin had become very ill for the last 2-3 months. “When will we get to see Lady Kagome my lord?” Rin asked. “Soon Rin,” He knew it would be a 2 week journey though, Going all the way from the eastern lands to the southern lands is a far way after all. “We will be there eventually.” Sesshomaru didn't know that 2 weeks would be far too late.

(At the shrine)

Kagome didn't recognize the third person with Naraku and Kikyou. He was a tall sleek man, in his 40's if she had to guess. “Ahhhhhhhh.” Kagome screamed in pain. Whoever this was he was very powerful. He was using some kind of force that was unknown to her. Her Mom, Step-Dad, and Grandfather, had been fighting them when her and Souta arrived. This was the third attack that her from this guy. She look around to see if Souta was doing alright only to find….in her horror……..everyone lay on the ground………dead. “Well, well, well,” Kagome turned around to see Naraku, Kikyou and the man staring back at her. “Kagome, it seems you're the only one left. Spellman, are you ready for your revenge?” `Spellman, is that his name?' He nodded happily. “Kikyou are you?” She nodded as well. Kikyou made a orb of miko energy, Naraku made a orb of demonic energy, and Spellman made an orb of unknown energy. “Kagome….” Naraku shouted. “GOODBYE!!” They all launched they're energy orbs at Kagome, and that was the last thing she saw before she blacked out.
