Chapter 2 : Learning like humans.

-Kagome … can I ask you a favor ? Asked Inuyasha in a voice that kind of reminded her of her mother.

-Ya …sure ! Anything that you want. Responded a now happy-go-lucky Kagome

- Can … can you teach me … to be a human ?

-NANIIIII ?!?!? Are you nuts ? Don't worry Inuyasha … don't move … I'll go get the thermometer and the tylenols and … and … and some water too and …

-Kagome, I'm serious. Now taht I'm stuck in this form, I've got to learn to live like one, said Inuyasha with a serious grin.

He was hurting. And the only way for him to help it stop was to act has everything was normal. His intentions here not clear to Kagome but whatever he did, would probably be the best for him.

-O.K. Inuyasha, said Kagome with a causious voice, now, we're going to think this over … and then we'll get some sleep cuz it's kind of 2 in the morning. Besides, with chance, maybe you will have reverted to your old self by the time the sun comes up … o.k. ?

-Sure …

-Good !! Now, there must be a cure against this curse thingy. That's what we're going to do. And if all hell fails, then I'll teach you … how-to-be-a-human. Kagome had speeled out the last part with a sour expression. She didn't want him to suffer.

-Kagome ?

-What ?

-Thank you

And with that, Inuyasha pulled her into a tight embrace. Kagome had never noticed his sent. The sent taht was so cold in the past was now a comforting warmth. That warmth of his was slowly but surly find it's way truw Kagome's body. She could feel his human, no, normal heart, beat in a gentle way that she had never seen on him before. Was he turning soft because of what was happening to him ? They stayed in that position for a couple of secondes before Inuyasha noticed what he was doing. In a flash of red clothing, he had gotten up and turned his back to Kagome who was still crouched down on the floor. She could see truw the mirror in her room that he had turned red from the cheeks to his forehead. She then blushed her self at what had just happened.

- Come on Inuyasha, said Kagome, let's get some rest …

- O.K. … sure …. Whatever.

Well … hum … well you can take my bed since you're the guest and I can take the couch downstairs. Answered Kagome while thinking things thru.

-No way !! I ain't letting you sleep anywhere else than in your own bed. This is your house, so I'll take the couch. Said a now angry Inuyasha.

- No you can't … Mom, Sota and Gramps don't know you're here … Mom would screem, Sota would start crying and Gramps would try to exterminate you … remember ?

-Then I'll sleep outside ! Said a now very determined ex-hanyou

-No your not !! I'll make you a futon and you'll sleep here ! I don't want the neibourgs to tell me that there's a weird guy in my tree. Said Kagome with a fiercful face.

-Weird looking ? Who says I'm weird looking ? You're the one who's not normal !!

-Why you no-good-hound-blood-sucking-fool !!!

-You're going to pay for this … AAAAH !!! Yelled Inuyasha while jumping on Kagome with a playful expression ! I'll tickle you till you beg for mercy !!

- No ! Inuyasha ! Stop ! And with that said Kagome bursted into laughter under Inuyasha's tickeling skills.

-What's the magic word ? Asked Inuyasha while torturing her with his fingers.

-S … Hahaha … S … Hahaha …SIT !!

BANG !!!!!

Inuyasha had fell with a "thump" over Kagome. She had "sat" him so hard that both of them had sunken into the ground. Inuyasha's face was inches from hers … he had the sudden urge to kiss her … He could have, but he didn't.

-You didn't think of that one didn't you Kagome ? asked Inuyasha.

- Ya ... maybe ... but now that your guards are down ... now it's my turn to torture you ! Answered Kagome with a huge smile on her face.

She made him roll over so that he would now be on his back, at her mercy. She attacked him with her small fingers and her rosy cheeks. She made him laught so hard, taht he had to take her in his arms to stop her from tickling him. After a couple of moments of staring at each other, the both laid flat on their back and staired at the ceiling, trying to cache their breath. Kagome then engaged the conversation.

-I don't remember having this much fun in a long time said Kagome while turning to Inuyasha to look at him.

-Ya ... you're right ... we never did have fun back in the feudal era ... I've seen Miroku and Sango laugh ... was it because their human ? As a half-demon, I've never laugh like this in my life ... is this something that human's do a lot ? Asked Inuyasha while looking at her with purple eyes.

-Well .. kinda ... I guess we like to have some fun ! Answered Kagome while thinking of all the fun times taht she had shared with her friends and familly.

-Oh .. well ... good ... it feels good to laugh so I guess I better carry on ... said Inuyasha while wondering if what he was sying sounded right.

-Hum ... Well I better start doing you bed ...

-O.K.

The rest of the evening was kind of ocward ... Kagome was consentrated on doing his bed, and Inuyasha ,who was sitting on her bed, was consentrated on her back. What was going to happen to them ?

- Inuyasha ?

- What ?

-Come on ! Your bed is ready. Now, you sleep here and I'll be right here nest to you, but in my bed. If you need anything, give me a holler. Oh and hum ... No peeking onto my side !! Said Kagome while climming onto her bed to get under the covers.

- Kagome … aren't you scared of me ?

- No, why should I ? Answered Kagome

- Well … started Inuyasha, all those nights that we stayed together … in those times … I was a demon … well a half-demon, but I could have killed you anytime ! Weren't you scared sleeping next to me ? Just like now ? Have you always trusted me ?

- Yes Inuyasha … from the moment I saw you I knew I could trust you. And no, I'm not scared … you promised me that you would always protect me so I trust you. Iknow you wouldn't kill me. Said Kagome

-But how ? Asked Inuyasha

- I don't now … maybe because I wouldn't kill you … never. Come on … good night.

Inuyasha was dumbstruck. What was she trying to tell him ? He knew too that he could never kill her … but why ? Because he had lost Kikyo and he didn't want to do the same mistake ? No. It had nothing to do with Kikyo but everything to do with Kagome.

-Good night Kagome, good night.
