InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ A New Sibling ❯ A New Ally? ( Chapter 4 )

ok people…

I have looked over those characters posted on the reviews and decided that I will try to put in each of them only in different chapters…*sigh/sweat drop* but that might be a little tougher than it sounds…so…before this chapter is over I will have one of the characters in there…your job is to find out which one before you read their name…ready…? GO!!! ^_^ woo…I crack me up…^_^

Disclaimer: I don't actually OWN the show or the characters…but I did purchase the DVDs…I did create Ayumu…the other characters are other people's…I am just borrowing them…^_^…I wish that I had a Sesshoumaru shirt though…*sigh*…or a shrine of him, that would work too! ^__________^

The Inu-gang stared in open-mouthed horror as youkai InuYasha and Ayumu/puppet battled on. As they dodged, blocked, and attacked, a certain hanyou watched from the darkness in the surrounding forest. (A/N: for those of you that didn't know, Naraku is a hanyou and a hanyou is a half-demon…^_^)

"I fear that neither one will make it through this battle alive, Kagome-Chan."

"I wouldn't go that far, Miroku. But, they aren't going to be any ball of sunshine tomorrow."

Kagome just stood taking in what they said. She had to watch two of her friends in an all out battle trying to kill each other.

Suddenly Ayumu/puppet jumped back to the very edge of the forest where just beyond you could see that certain hanyou disappear into the shadows all together. She turned around and slowly began to walk away to follow the owner of the jewel embedded in her chest.

"Where're you goin', sis'? Not going to finish the battle?"

She mouthed-barely audible to the hanyou turned youkai-"Your sister is already dead…"

A simple sentence shouldn't have much impact on you most of the time, but in InuYasha's case, it did. The "shock" of knowing that his sister was dead threw him back into reality, back to his true form as a hanyou, and back into feeling that nagging pain in the gut called "your old friend Mr. Gaping Whole"! (A/N: sorry! I just loved that one! I had to put it in!)

Ayumu/puppet turned back around and continued her walking. As soon as she was out of sight Kagome ran to InuYasha to inspect the damage inflicted upon him while Miroku and Sango checked out the Tetsusaiga's broken shards on the ground of the battlefield. It would take a miracle for even Totosai to fix the Tetsusaiga without making it so heavy that InuYasha wouldn't even be able to lift the hilt.

Minutes later, Kagome was done with the tedious task of bandaging InuYasha's wounds. When she was done, she left to try and stretch her powers to find the jewel that was implanted in Ayumu. Disgruntled with the results of her search, Kagome trudged back to the hut to join her friends. When she sat down, she picked Shippo up and placed him in her lap, occasionally stroking his hair. Kagome glanced over at InuYasha, still unconscious and starting to bleed through the bandages.

`He looked so…sad when she said she was dead. He was actually warming up to her.'

*The Next Day…around dawn*

Shippo awoke with a yawn and a stretch, half expecting to see trees and InuYasha and Ayumu sleeping in the branches. Before his early morning "amnesia" could further more confuse him, he came to his senses and remembered the fight the day before, Ayumu's disappearance, InuYasha's transformation.

"ACK!"

The kitsune's distressed cry cut through the slumbering silence of the hut like Sesshoumaru's Toukijin through "lower class demon scum". Kagome let out a gasp as she was startled awake. She sat up and glanced around until she noticed that the kit was staring at her with a sorrowfully worried look in his eyes.

"What is it, Shippo-Chan?"

"I-InuYasha…h-he's…not here!"

"What?!"

The trio of humans all shouted in unison as all eyes snapped toward the corner of the small hut in which the hanyou had rested in the day before. The sheets that had covered him were unceremoniously crumpled at the foot of the worn futon.

"Shippo-Chan, can you smell which way he went?"

Kagome was in hysterics as she carried the kitsune out of the hut and ran toward the forest.

"Barely, but I can. He went into the trees that way, Kagome-Chan!"

Shippo pointed to confirm the direction in which the sour scent of dried and wet blood on old bandages was coming from. Kagome ran, closely followed by the taijiya and houshi, into the woods. She stopped when she caught sight of a white patch on the ground. Shippo jumped from her lap for further investigation of the foreign object. Unknowingly, the trio walked up to their small friend. He looked back at them with sorrow in his eyes as he held up the article in question.

"Those are…"

Kagome couldn't believe it. `Those are InuYasha's bandages.' She ran up to Shippo and scooped him up in her arms, holding the cloth in her hand to study it further. It was slit down the center where InuYasha's chest would be, no doubt because he had had trouble untying the various knots in the back. The blood covering it was completely dried now.

"InuYasha…InuYasha!"

She couldn't help but worry and yelling seemed to help sometimes.

"What are you yelling about?"

Kagome turned to face him when she heard his voice. Emotions rolled over her in waves. First relief, joy, frustration, and then all out rage.

"WHAT AM I YELLING ABOUT?!?! I'LL TELL YOU WHAT I'M YELLING ABOUT!!! YOU DISAPPEAR-SIT-BEFORE DAWN-SIT-THEN TAKE OFF YOUR BANDAGES-SIT-LEAVING THEM ON THE GROUND-SIT-FOR US TO WORRY IF YOU WERE KILLED!!! SIT, SIT, SIT, SIT, SIT, SIT, SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!!!!!"

Realizing her bad choice of actions, Kagome ran to the dusty crater in which lay InuYasha. She hadn't realized, in her anger, that he was still slightly injured. Though healed for the most part, he was probably still very sore and bleeding a miniscule amount.

"I'm sorry, InuYasha! I was just so worried!"

"Whatever…Look, I figured that by the way the trail goes at first, Ayumu was taken towards the Northwestern parts of Japan. We should probably head after her."

"Sure, but are you healed well enough for the journey yet?"

"Feh…I'll be fine…"

"Fine…"

Miroku stepped up to the speaking couple to get in a few words.

"InuYasha, might we leave tomorrow. That way we can prepare for the journey without this much of short notice."

"Fine, but we leave at dawn tomorrow."

With that, he bounded into the trees, not to be seen until the Ramen was cooked and ready to eat.

*Somewhere on the border of the Western Lands*

A blur of green streaked passed his vision. `She is back once more.' He gave an inward sigh at the persistence of her. He sped to a run, hoping beyond hope to outrun her for once and that she had actually not seen him. `But that would be a full out miracle…She has senses to rival even my own…'

He sped up from a leisurely walk to a run. If you were any other person walking in the forest it would seem that the gods had unleashed a strange blur of white, closely followed by an even stranger blur of a mix of green and small amounts of red. (A/N: hint, hint, RFP!!! ;) )

`He must not have sensed me yet!'

"Wait!" She yelled at the blur she was closely following. "Wait for me! C'mon! Slow down already!"

As she requested, the demon she was in hot pursuit of abruptly stopped. She had not noticed the sudden change in speed, which caused her to go sprawling head first into his armor. This action was not intended which in turn caused him to land in an ungracefully underneath her. She quickly regained her composure and clambered off of his chest. Afterwards, giving him a chance to more gracefully rise to his feet. Leaving her to envy his most graceful recovery from the fall.

"You really need to lose some armor, Milord!"

"Hn…"

He continued at his original pace, making her have to practically jog to keep up with his longer strides. `Darn his longer legs!!!'

They both came to a halt and glanced the way she had been coming.

"Do you sense it, too? Something's not right with her youki though…"

He silently nodded in response. `What happened to her?'

"InuYasha will follow about three days worth of human travel behind her."

"Milord…"

He glanced in her direction to show that she had his attention.

"We both know that even you can't defeat that `Naraku' on your own…"

He let out a low growl at her, but only to show his disgust in the idea that he knew she was thinking. But, he also knew that she was correct.

"Then, I will need your assistance…Kuzume…"

"Of course, Lord Sesshoumaru…"

Taiyoukai: Banzai!!! Short chapters are easier to write! I am SOOOOO sorry about the whole "I'm not gonna update `cause you guys won't review" thing…*sweatdrop*…

Kuzume: What's the deal with me only being mentioned once?! *menacing glare at Taiyoukai/eye twitch*

Taiyoukai: Sorry, but them's the breaks, toots! You probably won't be mentioned until the end of the next chapter…unless it's actually a decently long sized one…then, you might be in the middle somewhere!

Sess-chan: I need assistance from no one…

Taiyoukai: I really, REALLY don't want to do this, Sesshy! *bonks him on the head with rubber mallet/stares down at EXTREMELY ticked off Sesshoumaru* I told you I didn't want to…but you gave me no choice…*sigh*…

Inu-Chan: Why do I still have to be injured? And how come I have to care for Ayumu so much? And how come Kagome got to pound me into the ground? And-*silenced by Taiyoukai*

Taiyoukai: How come you seem to be like a cockroach and never die? Why I can't own the InuYasha series? Why can't I breathe underwater? Why do you have to be so arrogant? Why are you so stubborn? How come Sesshy won't just acknowledge the fact that he loves me?!?!

Sess-Chan: *quirks eyebrow suspiciously at me* Hn…?

Kuzume: Yeah! `Hn…?' What do you mean loves YOU?!?! He so loves me!!! Right, Lord Sesshoumaru!?

Taiyoukai: *Glares evilly at Kuzume and brandishes mallet at her before throwing it behind me to grab onto Sesshoumaru's arm and pull him towards me* He loves me!

Kuzume: *Copies Taiyoukai and grabs Sesshoumaru's other arm* He loves me!

T: Me!

K: Me!

Kagome: *Still hearing the screaming `me's in the background* So I can answer the whole why I get to pound InuYasha into the ground thing!

Inu-Chan: Really, now? How so?

Kagome: Well, as you can see…*directs Inu's attention towards screaming youkai girls behind them*…she obviously loves Sesshoumaru more than you…So, since she isn't in the fanfic, I get to pound your face into the ground…Simple as that!!! *smiles brightly*

Taiyoukai: *stops screaming to cut in* It's true!!! So, see you guys next time! I promise to have a longer chapter! I just had a serious case of writer's block!

Kuzume: Yeah! Whatever! You just don't like your adoring fans! Why don't you just give up Sesshoumaru to me and go pay some attention to them!

Taiyoukai: Because I could easily take you out of the story! And, he loves me anyway!

Kuzume: No way!

*both continue to argue over Sesshoumaru*

HAHAHA!!! He's mine!!! Anyway…keep reviewing and I keep writing! Yes, despite the apology, I will still delay the chapter after the next one if no more reviews come in! So, remember… "Ask not what your author can do for you, but what you can do for your author!"…seriously, I crack myself up!
