*Flashback/Dream Sequence*

"Finish your meditation, young one."

"Yes, Sensei-sama…"

The small demon child sat down to carry out her human teacher's command. She didn't like to meditate, it always caused trouble. (A/N: I just love foreshadowing!)

Silent creeks running over smoothed stones. Birds singing behind her in her favorite cherry tree. The wind softly caressed the tips of the grass below her. She could hear soft footsteps behind her…on a stone road? That was not part of her meditation.

<Block out all other sounds…Pay no attention to your surroundings unless an emergency arises…>

She could hear Sensei-sama's incessant teachings in her head on how to meditate correctly. <Just ignore the footsteps…it's probably another human passing by…clear my mind and I will go to the meadow once more…>

The girl took a deep breath and rid her mind of all thoughts. This once again brought her to the meadow in her mind. Foxes running beneath the tree, as the birds were startled away by a disturbance…behind her. <This thing does not belong here…it belongs to the real world…>

Her eyes snapped open showing a heart-stopping red around the irises. She jerked them up to the body that owned the hand on her shoulder, then to the face. <Ichido…>

He stood, petrified, by her blood red gaze, unable to remove his hand from her shoulder, or do anything else for that matter.

"Ayumu…? Child, look away!"

Just as her Sensei-sama made it to them the sky poured down rain in practically solid sheets. Startled, her best friend, Ichido, stumbled back on his rear end in the mud. He took a passing glance at her and their sensei as he made a mad dash toward his home.

<He was scared of me…he…>

Just as these words were passing through her mind, her sensei reached down to grab her shoulder. He stopped short as he realized her blank expression. She was just staring in the direction Ichido went. Sensei knew she was not looking at him, for the rain was too thick for even her to see through.

"We must retreat to the sanctuary of the temple, child. Arise and come with me."

She did not move or even acknowledge the fact that he was even there let alone talking to her. <I almost killed him…He'll never want to see my face again…I…I…I don't know what to do with out Ichido around…He's my best friend…> Sensei gently lifted her into his arms and carried her out of the rain and into her own room to rest. (A/N: hint to what happened to her: the emotional stress of almost killing her only and best friend and the fact that he may hate her for that is a little to overwhelming…to put this plainly, she had emotional overload and a brain fart-all in one! :D)

Ok…so now I am having some serious brain farts and writer's block…I know what's going to happen later but I don't know how to get from here to there…stupid brain fart-writer's block…anyways…next chapter will probably explain about the "accident" that Ayumu thought about during her nose bleed…I will also probably have some inu-tachi traveling and/or Sesshoumaru-Kuzume encounters…that'll be cool…
