InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ A New Sibling ❯ Sesshoumaru's Gone Crazy!!! ( Chapter 10 )

[ P - Pre-Teen ]

I'm really bored, so I'm starting on this chapter…um…yeah…ok…here's the, um…quote of the chapter…Banzai! Sorry for no `Naraku beat-down', but they left after they had Ayumu and I couldn't think of yet another battle scene for this fanfic.

"If you are a dog and your owner suggests that you wear a sweater…suggest that he wear a tail." - Fran Lebowitz

That's hilarious! Anyway…I decided that I'm never going to have anyone else's thoughts other than <Ayumu's> and `Sesshoumaru's'.

On with the chapter! Oh, and if you were wondering about the `dual tone' of Sesshoumaru's voice in the last chapter, that just means that when he speaks, you can hear two voices instead of one.

*Back at the Western Citadel in the garden*

Sesshoumaru stood once more in the moonlight beside the pond. He turned around at the sound of footsteps and the scent of Kuzume. She was nervous and he could tell, not only by her smell, but the way she was biting her lip and staring fixedly at the ground, trying to avoid all eye contact.

"She…She hasn't woken up yet…" Kuzume muttered as she stopped about a foot away from Sesshoumaru.

He looked away as he muttered, "You do not have to tell me this. I shall be the first one to know when she is back in her body."

Kuzume looked up at his face, his voice still startling her; the second voice in his own was startlingly familiar and more feminine than Sesshoumaru's original voice. She could only see the side of his face as he glared at the heavens. It was an odd habit of his to come out to the garden late at night and glare toward the stars as if he were cursing the gods for something, anything.

Sesshoumaru looked back at her when she took a step toward him. She placed her outstretched hand on his shoulder to try and comfort him from his troubles. He, in turn, wrapped his arm around the small of her back and pulled her against his body, leaning down to look her in the eyes. (A/N: Must suck when you're so much taller than the person in your arms…Oh…sorry, people! I'll let you get back to the story now!)

Kuzume placed her forehead on his chest and said, "I wish you would explain what's going on; we're all very confused."

"Kuzume," Sesshoumaru sighed and took her chin in his other hand, lifting it to make her face him once more. "As I told you all before, I am going to force Ayumu to explain everything to our brother and his companions. She has deceived them somehow, and will not get away with it that easily."

"Fine…I trust you, M'Lord."

Sesshoumaru leaned down to close the short distance between them, but squeezed his eyes in frustration and leaned back and looked away from Kuzume.

"Damn it all, why now?"

"Lord Sesshoumaru, what is the matter?"

He looked back at her once more, giving her a quick peck on the cheek.

"I have business to attend to right now. I will speak with you in the morning."

Sesshoumaru walked, almost jogging, leaving a very confused and frustrated Kuzume to fume on the way back to her room.

*~*

"Kagome-Chan, would you like to go with me to find the springs?"

"Sure, Sango-Chan; just let me grab my bag."

Kagome ran over to the corner of the beautiful room that Sesshoumaru had allowed her to stay in and grabbed a small bag of bathing items.

"Okay, I'm ready; let's go."

The two women wove their way through the maze-like corridors of the giant citadel, trying to find the springs that Kuzume had told them about. They came across a shoji door that had light coming from the bottom. When they began to pass it, they heard Sesshoumaru's new dual-tone voice coming from inside the room beyond.

"How long will this last?"

His voice changed to an all too familiar one with the undertone of his own voice.

"I-I don't know! All I knew was that if you broke the jewel, the curse would be lifted. I didn't know anything of side effects like-well, like this!"

Sesshoumaru's voice changed back to his own with undertones of the feminine voice once more.

"You should have thought more carefully before you instructed us to act."

"Like you would have been able to predict this, either!!!"

"Keep your voice down, sister. Do you want the whole citadel to hear us?"

Kuzume walked around the corner and saw Kagome and Sango kneeling next to the door to Sesshoumaru's study, looking as if they were about to go take a bath in the springs that she had mentioned to them earlier. She walked up to them, knelt down and whispered, "Hey, what are you two doing?"

They didn't answer, but instead motioned for her to put her ear against the door and listen; Kuzume did as they instructed and didn't say anything more.

"I'm sorry but I'm just a little over whelmed here!"

"You are not the one loaning your own body to another."

"No, but mine is currently recovering my youki trace. I can't realign with my body until it fully recovers."

"So, you have told me…"

"You don't have to be so mean about it…"

"You do not have to intrude on matters that do not concern you!"

Sango looked up at Kagome and whispered, "It sounds like Sesshoumaru's getting angry…with himself."

"Hmm," Kagome said in a mock tone of considering something, tapping her chin thoughtfully with her finger. "Maybe Sesshoumaru has finally snapped."

Kuzume looked over at the two other women from across the door and scowled. Something was going on, and she wanted to find out. She placed her ear back against the door to hear a little better.

"I'm sorry if I have something against some of the things you do when no one else is around!"

"You should learn to control yourself better, sister."

"And you, dear brother, should learn to express your feelings more openly. We may be twins, but we are nothing alike."

"This is not an entirely bad thing."

"Be that way, but if you insist on making me do all the explaining, then I would suggest you step outside a moment. I do believe we have unwanted visitors, dear brother."

The conversation inside stopped and there was a shuffling as someone stood up. Kuzume, Kagome, and Sango all stood up and ran toward the end of the hall, making it around the corner, down another hallway, and into Kuzume's room just as the door opened and Sesshoumaru stepped out, looking around to see who was eavesdropping.

Sango fell on her rear onto Kuzume's bed, while Kagome sat in the chair next to the vanity mirror, and Kuzume leaned against the wall and slid to the floor; all three were breathing hard, hearts racing, mainly from fright, but partly from running faster than they ever had in their lives, and, hopefully, would never have to again.

"What *pant* was that *huff, huff* about?!" Kagome said after recovering her breath halfway, looking at Kuzume for answers.

"I *wheeze* don't know *pant, pant*!" Kuzume sputtered out; she placed her hands over her chest in a futile attempt to calm her racing heart. She had never been so afraid, especially not of Sesshoumaru!

"Well, *big breath* if you *huff* ask *wheeze* me, I *cough* think that he's *pant, pant/cough* finally gone crazy!" Sango rushed out the last of her statement in one big exhalation of air.

Kuzume stood up, fuming.

"Sesshoumaru has not gone crazy! He has not lost his mind! And, he will explain, or at least make Ayumu!"

The three women had finally gotten hold of themselves and started to breathe properly again, but Sango and Kagome were not expecting such an outburst from Kuzume. They never knew she felt so strongly about Sesshoumaru.

"Okay, Kuzume; we're going to the springs now."

Kuzume walked past the bed and looked out the window at the garden she had been standing in earlier that night.

"If you truly were just looking for the bathing springs, you're in the wrong section of the citadel. When you exit the room, turn right to avoid going by Sesshoumaru's study again, then go straight forward, past four hallways, turn left and go through the shoji door that has the words `Bathing Springs' at the top. That should be where it is unless they have moved it." Kuzume was practically biting out her words; it was obvious that she was furious at either the fact that they had poked fun at Sesshoumaru or that Sesshoumaru wouldn't explain anything…or both.

All will be explained in due time, loyal fans! I'm making this story up as I go, though, I do know where it will undoubtedly end up, I have no earthly idea what will happen in between. Your guess is as good as mine!

To answer RFP's question about "(A/N: Arms…as in plural!!! Hurray for Sesshoumaru-sama!)" in "Ah…Love…And Weapons!" in most fanfics-and the television series-Sesshoumaru only has one arm. I was so annoyed by it in the show that I let him have two arms in my fanfic. I can't stand it when he only has one arm, not that it keeps him from doing things like stealing Tetsusaiga or killing Inu-Chan or anything, but I just love him better when he has two arms instead of just one. I hope that answers your question!

If you have any more questions, remember to email me about it or put it in a review! And just in case you were wondering, yes, I did name the dragons in "The Dragon Stables…" words from that own special little demon language of mine. So, if you would like to know what their names mean or Sesshoumaru, InuYasha, or Tetsusaiga mean in Japanese, then email me!!!!! Yes, I am so pitiful that I know the meaning of the names Sesshoumaru, InuYasha, and Tetsusaiga. *sigh* I have no life…but I'm perfectly fine with it!

Anyway, review and send email or neomail!

Happy Reading,
