InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ A New Sibling ❯ Wakey, Wakey! Eggs and Bacey! ( Chapter 11 )

[ P - Pre-Teen ]

`Kays…well, I got bored and decided to forget about that serious case of writer's block sitting in my head still and get on with the next chapter…A special thanks to RFP for the great plot ideas, though my memory often fails me and I forgot most of them! I'm so sorry! ^_^*

Quote of the day:

"Of all God's creatures, there is only one that cannot be made slave of the leash. That one is the cat. If man could be crossed with the cat it would improve the man, but it would deteriorate the cat."- Mark Twain

Well, just for the heck of it, I'm going to put in one of my favorite movie quotes:

"No, by all means, kill the whelp!" - Johnny Depp (a.k.a.-Jack Sparrow) "Pirates of the Caribbean"

~*~ is a time lapse

~*~ all the way across the screen is the end or beginning of a chapter, depending on which side of the screen you're on!

*Citadel…still…*

Sesshoumaru walked into Ayumu's bed chamber to find her up and about.

"You should not be out of bed yet."

She looked up and rolled her eyes at him. It wasn't like he really cared all that much if she was to be injured and out of bed when she wasn't supposed to be.

"I think I'll be j-" Ayumu was cut off as she tried to stand and fell to her knees, teeth clenched together in pain. Her eyes widened perceptively as she landed with near bone-jarring force. (A/N: She's as tall as Sesshoumaru which is a pretty long way to fall…ouch!)

Sesshoumaru stepped up next to her and swung his arm around her shoulders to help her to her feet. Obviously, Ayumu had not noticed to state of disrepair her body was in. Her youki may have realigned with her consciousness, but during that it hadn't healed her wounds.

He placed her back on the bed and she looked down at herself and gave a snort of disgust at her own weaknesses. "I'm a complete mess."

Ayumu avoided eye contact with Sesshoumaru as she looked herself over. Her collar bone was still completely destroyed, her arm hanging in a sling by her side. Her entire neck was bandaged and still bleeding. Her armor and shirt were sitting in the far corner of the room, her chest tightly bound by more bandages and also bleeding where the break occurred on her shoulder. The thigh and shin of her pants were red with old, dried blood stains.

"Yes, well, you still need rest." Sesshoumaru sat down next to her and looked at the door he had entered through. "You should be in a good enough state to walk by tomorrow."

"Thanks, but I would rather not stay here, even if it is for just one day."

"That is your decision. If you can walk out of the room, you may go as you please. But, until then, I suggest you stay here and rest."

Ayumu threw herself back onto the bed, flat on her back, sending a wave of pain through her from her shoulder. She closed her eyes until it subsided.

"Thank you, Sesshoumaru." Ayumu whispered as he slid the shoji door the remaining foot and left.

He walked briskly down the corridors toward the dragon stables to get his mind off of everything else in the world.

"Oh! Ayumu, you're finally up!"

Ayumu was once again sitting on the edge of her bed, looking up and giving an unenthusiastic "Hey, Kuzume…" as Kuzume entered with a bowl of hot water and a cloth.

"Well…how are you feeling today?"

"Kuzume, must I recount all the recent events and injuries for you, or can you do that yourself…?"

Kuzume walked to the nightstand next to Ayumu's bed and placed the bowl down, soaking the cloth with the water in it and handing it to Ayumu.

The one time that Kuzume had met Ayumu was the few days that she had waylaid Sesshoumaru and herself on the road. The three of them-plus Rin, Jaken, and Ah-Un-had patrolled the outskirts of the Western Lands. Ayumu had never really enjoyed Kuzume's company, but for the life of her, Kuzume couldn't figure out why.

She wrung out the cloth, moved Ayumu's hair to the side, removed the bandages on her neck, and started to clean the already-healing wounds that the wood from the wall she had crashed into gave her.

As Kuzume continued to clean and re-bandage the wounds, she heard Ayumu mutter something, but only caught a few things. "…tiya mit kae…tako shun…Eh djuna mit…ta nucht och--! Ika!!! Kiya, kiya tusht!!!"

Ayumu shoved Kuzume away as she grabbed onto her shoulder where Kuzume had started to re-bandage her. She glared at Kuzume with a burning fury in her eyes.

"Eh emmoeh kacho kyu! Suka kae su!" Ayumu stood up and swung her good arm to emphasize her point. (A/N: which you guys and Kuzume don't know…! ^. ^) "Suka kae, FYUNO!!!"

Kuzume jumped to her feet from where Ayumu had flung her. She could take a hint; she wasn't wanted there. She forgot about the wash bowl and cloth, and she just left as quickly as she could.

Her outburst over, but anger and pain not completely gone, Ayumu's legs finally gave out again and she fell to the floor with a loud `thump'.

"Your actions were uncalled for!"

"She was displacing the bones! What was I supposed to do?!"

"You should have told her, not thrown her across the room!"

Ayumu sat back down; she had hardly noticed when she stood after Sesshoumaru came into the room about her shoving Kuzume into the wall.

Sesshoumaru had passed her in the hallway and immediately knew where the cut on her temple came from. Knowing this, he had escorted Kuzume back to her room, helped her clean it, and then went directly to Ayumu to confront her about it.

He took a calming breath and said, "Rest well, sister, for tomorrow you will explain everything."

"To whom? Them…? Or you, brother…?"

Sesshoumaru stopped with his hand on the shoji door and turned to face her.

"We shall see…"

(A/N: To stop here or not to stop here…that is the question! Nah…I think you guys have waited long enough for this chapter…Say, did you ever notice that Sesshoumaru's favorite word has to be "indeed"…not that it's a stupid word or anything, in fact, I think it's an awesome word…I just felt like pointing that out to you for some reason…Anyways, on with the fan fiction!!!)

~*~

Ayumu roused from her meditation with the first light of day. She wasn't looking forward to explaining about everything she had done for the past month or so, or any time before that.

She exited her room, wounds healed enough for her to walk without much pain at all, though her arm was still in a sling.

As Ayumu walked to the dojo, she stopped by the Koi pond to watch them swim around, gathering insects off the top of the water. She continued to the dojo to find InuYasha and his company practicing with weapons that were no doubt given to them by Sesshoumaru.

When they saw her, they walked over to her. She had been unconscious, confined to her room, for several days. Everyone had visited her on occasions, InuYasha visiting most often. But, they were surprised to see her outside walking around already.

"I need to talk to everyone." Ayumu muttered just as they reached her, staring at her shoes.

~*~

Everyone-Sesshoumaru, Kuzume, InuYasha, Kagome, Miroku, Sango, Kelala, Shippo, and even Rin and Jaken-was gathered in the giant dining hall. Ayumu sat at the head of the table, head down as she continued to stare at her shoes.

<Suck it up, Ayumu...They deserve to know the truth about you…You have deceived them enough, lead them to believe enough…>

Ayumu took a deep breath to steady herself and looked up. She glanced around the table at her friends, her family. Sesshoumaru and Kuzume, of course, already knew what she was about to tell the others, but Sesshoumaru was there to make sure she did and Kuzume was there for reasons that showed from the way she was sitting with Sesshoumaru's arms around her waist. What Sesshoumaru wanted to know, Ayumu would probably tell all of them later. But, as for the moment, she was sticking to what the others needed to know.

"I-I am not your younger sister, InuYasha." She paused, letting them digest that fact before continuing. "I am S-Sesshoumaru's t-twin…"

THIS is where I stop. I'm just going to leave you with this confusion until tomorrow or the next day or the day after that. I promise that the next chapter will most likely not take more that four days to put up!!!

Happy Reading,
