Seriously, all of my friends are computer geniuses, and I don't have a single clue as to what to do. So here's chapter six AND seven. Read and review!

Sesshoumaru was considering what he had told the young one before he had left.

*Flashback*

Sesshoumaru nodded. He understood what the child was trying to say. Bending down to the young one, he said, "Young one, I will try to be a brother to you as I was not to InuYasha. Please, though, do not tell any one of this. Your life would be on the line. The few demons in this time, weak as they are, still know who I am, and would most likely kill you to get to me. Do you understand?" The boy nodded, and smiled slightly. "Okay, Sesshou-brother. Please take care of Kagome when you get back to your time."

*End flashback*

Why had he comforted the human like that? Sesshoumaru did not know why he had done such a thing. Confused by his own actions, he did not look where he was going and found himself in the battlefield where he had found Kagome. Surveying his surroundings, he saw again the two craters. Walking over to the larger, Sesshoumaru found a string of prayer beads and a mask that kept fumes out. Recognizing them immediately as things that would hold sentimental value for her, he swiftly gathered them up. They belonged to the monk and to the demon-slayer. Looking over at the spot where he had found Kagome, he saw a dirty yellow bag nearly concealed underneath some ashes. Lifting up the bag, he recognized the scent as the girl's. Gathering that up too, he put the two items inside of the strange bag and sped off toward his castle.

He sat watching wood burn in the fireplace in his room. Sesshoumaru had left Jaken with instructions to entertain Rin and Shippou while he tried to talk with the girl. After studying the two objects carefully, he put them in his haori and got into his bed. The healer had told him that the objects would only let him inside the girl's mind if he were asleep. He had also told him that true selves were always shown in dreams. Sesshoumaru had dismissed that. He lie there, tossing and turning, until he finally drifted into the one place he could always find peace.

"Why have you come here, demon? What do you seek?" Sesshoumaru whirled around. He had been wandering in the darkness for quite some time, and his eyes were unaccustomed to the bright light that stood before him. Shielding his vision with a clawed hand, he looked up at the beautiful woman that was standing before him. "I have come here to speak to the girl. Where is she?" The woman stepped closer to him, and before he knew it, was very close to his face. "Sesshoumaru, you have Kagome's mark upon you. I am Kagome's guardian, Midoriko. She is my reincarnation, and I have been tending her. I am unsure, though, to let you in. I have two questions for you: have you not tried to kill this girl before, and did you bring her back to life with the Tenseiga." Sesshoumaru nodded in response to these, and asked a question of his own. "Priestess, I understand that Kagome was the reincarnation of Kikyo. Am I wrong?"

Midoriko raised an eyebrow. "Kagome simply looked like Kikyo. Kikyo had much power, but only Kagome would have been strong enough to inherit my powers." Sesshoumaru nodded. "May I please pass? I must speak to the girl." Midoriko smiled. "As you wish."

She revealed to him a young woman that was lying in a large bed. She was wearing a black kimono and her eyes were shut tightly, as if she were afraid of something.

Kagome felt a hand on her back. She brushed it away and buried her face in the pillow. Whoever had brought her back to life had done the wrong thing. After what InuYasha had done, what was the reason to live? He didn't love her. He never had. She was just a shard detector. And he had been planning to go with Kikyo all along. The whole while-he had just been using her.

The hand lay on her back once more. She hit it away this time, angry that the person did not just go away.

"Please go away." She felt the hand on her back once more. Kagome rolled over to see a pair of golden eyes staring at her. They looked familiar… like InuYasha's, but different. Her eyes then fell upon the crescent moon on the person's head.

"S-s-Sesshoumaru… what are you doing here? How…" She saw the eyes blink. Then an eyebrow rose ever so slightly.

"So you have no injuries here. That is strange. Why are you lying here in sloth, miko? You have duties to attend to. You must wake up. You must come to the real world."

Kagome stiffened at this, and a pinkish light began to surround her. "So you were the one who woke me up, were you? Well, YOU DID THE WRONG THING! YOU SHOULD HAVE LEFT ME THERE! NOW GET OUT!" The pinkish light grew more vibrant, and Sesshoumaru felt himself being lifted off the ground.

`Amazing…' he thought. `She would have preferred to die. Hmmm. Then let it be that way. I will leave her here, and deliver her body to her family.'

He felt a hand on his shoulder. It was Midoriko. She was looking at Sesshoumaru with a sad look in her eyes.

"This is what has happened to the girl who loved life. Her spirit was broken by her friends either dying or betraying her. Please do not give up on her, Lord Sesshoumaru. Some tiny spark in her thirsts to see the sun once more. You must blow on that spark, and have it consume all of the hate that is storming inside of her. Her very life depends on it. As long as she hates, the wounds on her body will not heal. I do not want her ending up like the priestess Kikyo. You must do this, on your honor as a Lord, demon or not."

Sesshoumaru mulled over her words. So his honor depended on it? She was in his care…but how would he get rid of the hate that was filling her up? He voiced this question, and Midoriko only smiled, and faded away.

Right.

Now the scene is set for the rest of the story…

My characters don't mind, though.

Sesshoumaru: No, but it took you long enough!

Kagome: True, but now it means that I get to spend more time with you, Sesshy…

Sesshoumaru: Ah…I see…

is_this_thing_on: cool it, you guys. You aren't supposed to fall in love yet.

Kagome: Bull. This is outside of the story right now, okay?

Sesshoumaru: mhmm. She has a point, is_this_thing_on, so be quiet and let us be together, okay?

is_this_thing_on: Whatever. There'll be little half demons all over by the time I'm done with this story.

Sesshoumaru: I'm fine with that.

Kagome: Same here. Now Rin and Shippou can have siblings!

is_this_thing_on?: So whatever happens between the chapters is NOT MY RESPONSIBILITY. Got that, you two?

(looks over, then averts eyes)

is_this_thing_on: gross. >_< They weren't even listening. I should separate them…

Whatever.

I have written a one shot-don't have a title yet, so just do a search on my name and you'll find it somehow…

Sesshoumaru strode back over to Kagome's bed, and sat down. Her face was pressed against her pillow, and her petite frame was racking with sobs. He did not put a hand on her shoulder this time. Instead, he spoke. "Miko, tell everything that happened. What has InuYasha done to deserve so much hate from you?" She stiffened, and buried her face into her pillow harder, as if trying to suffocate herself. In fact…

Sesshoumaru gripped her shoulder, hard, and pulled her up to face him. Her tearstained features were clouded over. He spoke to her roughly this time.

"Miko. You will not let your own life go. That is for weaklings. Whatever InuYasha did to you, you would not give him the satisfaction of seeing you die. Do you understand?"

She did not reply. "I said, do you understand? Tell me everything that happened in the battle with Naraku." She only shook her head. He shook her. "Tell me NOW, Kagome."

She gazed up at him, sparks dancing in her eyes. "Do you really think I want to live that over again? Do you really think so?"

He realized this, and lay her frail body on the bed. She made no sound, only glared at him sullenly from beneath her bangs. He turned away, ashamed that he had let his anger take control of him. He had laid hands on a human and attempted harm to her. That was beneath him. His honor had been cracked.

"I apologize, Miko. I let my anger take control of me. I ask for your forgiveness, as my integrity demands."

Kagome let out a very InuYasha-like `Keh' and nodded slowly. She supposed that she had been a bit aggravating, but really-she didn't want to talk about it. Not yet. But how did Sesshoumaru get here? It was her mind, after all.

"How did you get here? I mean, it's kinda hard to get in here without… you know. Getting in here."

His back was still turned to her. He was still ashamed. "I took you to my healers. You had not woken up, as one normally does after being healed with the Tenseiga. The healers said that I would be able to communicate with you in your dreams if I had something that was dear to you with me as I slept. So I found some."

`No need to tell her about the trip to the future. Not now.' She looked up at him.

"What was it that you found? And where did you find it?" He shook his head. He was not going to remind her of what had happened, not when she had just protested it.

"Miko, you must come back to the real world. You must let go of all of your hate. You will die if you do not. Do you realize that?"

She nodded. "I realize that just fine. Do you think I have that much to live for, anyways? Shippou's safer with you, and Mom and Sota and Jiichan know that I'm going to stay in the past. They know that I was going to stay in the Feudal Era after the battle with Naraku. So what's the point of going back? I mean, really. I was ready to die."

Sesshoumaru was astounded. This girl really had changed. So she had no reason to go back to life? His integrity depended on which he bring this girl back. A small boy's hopes rested in him.

Grabbing Kagome by the wrist, Sesshoumaru walked to the end of the room that she was residing in. "If you do not come with me now, then I will take you by force. Do you understand?" She only smiled and followed him. As he neared the doorway, he felt a strange pulling sensation on his hair. Turning, he saw Kagome with a strand of his silver hair twisted around her finger.

"You will not take me out of here. And you will not leave. You have attempted to harm me, and I think that you must be punished for that." With those words, a necklace appeared his neck. It was made of strange black beads and shining white fangs. She looked at him with a sad emotion in her eyes. He pulled at the necklace, but it burned his hand at his touch.

"What have you done to me, Miko!? Get this thing off of me and let me go! Even if you have no interest to live, I still do! Let me go!"

She smiled. "You will not have to stay in here long. That necklace allows you to see my memories as I choose. You will see just why I do not want to live."

Kagome then put her pale hands on the necklace, over Sesshoumaru's hand. She then shut her eyes, and conjured up her memories.

Sesshoumaru: You should have had me… `do' some `other' things to get her to want to live ;-)

is_this_thing_on?: gack. You're incorrigible, y'know? Maybe I should kick you out of my story and bring InuYasha back in…

Kag&Sess together: NO!

Sesshoumaru: I'll be good-I promise!

(I smirk)

By the way, it's against Sesshoumaru's honor to bring her back by guilt, so he won't mention her family-just wanted to add that. And Shippou counts as family.

If you notice, he called her by her name this chapter. o_O
