Here is part two to 'A past to be forgotten':

***************************************************************** ********************

Kagome and Lola head over to Kagome's house with all of the stuff packed. In less than 10 minutes, Lola and Kagome arrive in Feudal Japan.

“Wow!” exclaims Lola. She looks around in wonder. “It's so beautiful here. The air is fresh too. Why would you go back home if you could live here all the time?” she asks Kagome.

“Well, it is nice, but home is better. There is no fighting or demons to worry about or anything like that.” Replies Kagome.

“Oh, I see.”

Lola and Kagome walk for a bit, chatting and catching up on some things. Kagome tells Lola about her friends, Miroku, Sango, Shippo, Kilala, and Inuyasha to pass the time. Eventually, the two girls end up at a village.

“This must be the village you told me about, huh Kagome?”

Kagome nods her head and runs toward a small hut, giving greetings to everyone along the way. She finally reaches the hut and enters, Lola following. “Kaede, are you home? Hello? Is anyone here? Hmm, well we can stay here until everyone comes back, is that alright with you, Lola?”

Lola looks at her and nods. “Hey Kagome, is it alright if I go and look around the village some?” After Kagome approves, Lola walks outside and into the sunshine. Looking from left to right, she decides to head into the forest off to the left.

Wow, it seems pretty peaceful here so far, thought Lola after an hour of wandering around the forest. I wonder what Kagome was so worried about when we came here? Lola stops.

There was a rustle in the bushes. A few minutes of silence pass and Lola sighs. Silly paranoid me! Kagome's words have gotten to my head and are making me think I heard things-

The ground gives out from underneath Lola. She lets out a yelp of surprise and hits the bottom of the pit rather hard. Lola gets up after a few minutes of getting her breath back and observes her surroundings. The pit is rather deep and is muddy at the bottom. To the right, there is a small, dark tunnel that is 3 feet from the ground.

Well, I don't really want to go in there yet, so I guess it's up we go.

Getting a hold on the wet, slick mud, so that idea is scratched off the list. “Damn, that means I'll have to go through the tunnel… Man, this day can't get much worse, can it?”

`BOOM' came the sound of thunder as little droplets started to fall on Lola's face as she looked skyward. Lola looks down, an angry expression on her face. “…Me and my big mouth…” she mutters darkly.

Huffing, she walks toward the tunnel as the rain starts to get heavier. Well, I better get out soon, the water level is rising quickly. She looks down, noticing the water is up to her knees. She grabs the edge of the tunnel and heaves herself up and walk down the dark, slippery tunnel.

-Kagome-

It's been only 10 minutes since Lola left and a commotion is heard outside. Curiously, Kagome peers outside and sees a group of villagers gathered in a group, chatting. Kagome walks up to the group and listens in.

“Ah yes, the trap is set. We will finally capture that demon and get rid of it for good,” says a villager.

“Umm, excuse me, but what demon are we talking about here?” asks Kagome.

The group turns toward her and one says, “Oh, Lady Kagome, it's you. A few days before you came back, there has been an evil demon lurking about. He steals our livestock and terrorizes the women. Reports from some sightings say that he is 10 feet tall! We set a trap for him out in the woods in hopes to catch him.”

“Oh, I see. What kind of trap did you set?”

“There are very deep pits out there that all lead to one extremely big pit that we check every now and then. It should work since we camouflaged the tops if them. The demon is supposto be very stupid, from what we have seen.”

Kagome wishes them good luck and heads back inside Kaede's hut.

I hope Lola is all right. She's smarter than to get caught in any of those traps, right?

-Lola-

Traveling down the tunnel, Lola notices noises ahead. She listens for a brief moment as the strange deep breathing-like noise stops. “I wonder what that was,” she mutters curiously. Lola notices that the tunnel starts to descend slightly. She finally reaches the end of the tunnel, which leads to a huge pit.

Something isn't right, thought Lola.

All of a sudden, the deep breathing sound starts again, although it sounds much closer then it used to be. Feeling warmth on her back, Lola tenses up and slowly turns around. Standing there is… The end of this chapter! Well, I hope you liked this one. I'm sorry for the wait. But since my exams are over, I'll be able to write again^.^ Oh yes, I'm currently writing my very own story, and I would like some suggestions as to what you would like to be in it, any would be good^.^.
