In was way past dusk, the full moon was high in the sky and InuYasha had resumed his usual place for sleeping.
Up in a tree.
He watched the last ember of the fire burn out as his "pack' slept soundly beneath him on the ground.
He couldn't concentrate on sleeping when the aroma of such a sweet and pure scent was wafting up to his nose. He could feel himself become aroused as Kagome slept on unaware of the powers she had of the poor hanyou.

He was facing away from her and hadn't reacted to her scent yet so she figured that he didn't know that she was here yet. So she thought the best choice would be to quietly run back to their campsite.
InuYasha was enjoying the peacefulness that this scene was offering when the wind changed direction and on it came the very near scent of Kagome. He twisted around just in time to see her turn to walk back.
“Kagome?” he said.
She was startled by suddenly being caught and smiled weakly at him in recognition.
“What are you doing out here Kagome? You were supposed to be asleep.” 'And I was supposed to be escaping from your scent' he thought to himself.
A particularly forceful gust of wind blew through the quiet clearing causing Kagome to shiver as she answered, “I was and then I had to pee so I got up and then I heard the water and then I found you and I was going to go back.....”
He watched as a blush spread across her face as she shivered in place attempting to protect herself against the cold by wrapping her arms around herself.
“Come here,” he said hardly above a whisper.
“What?” she said as she wrapped her arms tighter.
“I said ' Come here', ”

“ I left the campsite earlier because I couldn't handle your scent and I was afraid that if I didn't leave I would hurt you. So I ran out here and then you followed me and when I saw you shivering I had to make you warm so I forgot the whole reason that I had come out here and then I lost control of my senses and I exploded.”
She pulled away from him and began to march back to shore on the verge of tears.
“ So basically you were so repulsed by the sight of me that you had to leave and then when I-”
She got about knee deep before he stopped her
No Kagome you've got it all wrong, he said pulling her back against his chest. “ I ran away because your scent was causing me to feel an immense amount of pleasure and I was afraid that if I didn't leave I might have made you do something you didn't want to do.”
“My scent causes you to feel pleasure?”
“More than yo could ever know,” he said inhaling he scent again; “ I know that me being a hanyou I don't deserve to feel love or be loved by anybody, but Kagome I have loved you for so long now I feel as though my heart is going to explode.”

Kagome was on Kirara's back above shooting arrows down at their enemy as InuYasha, Sango, Miroku and even Shippo attacke dfrom the ground. Soon after Sesshomaru showed up with Jaken Rin and Ah Un. Rin climbed on AhUn's back as the two headed dragon (?) breathed fire on to their enemy. InuYasha prepared the Tetssaiga and unleashed nis Wind Scar and at that particular moment Kagome had Kirara move in closer and Kagome shot an arrow directly at Naraku the exact place InuYasha had just attacked. Then for a final attack Sesshomaru attacked usoing Tokijin and Naraku was left a big mess.
As his final attack he sent a poisonous tentacle heading straight for Kagome who had just swooped into take his jewel fragment and before anyone could react in had pierced her abdomen and she gasped from the force of impact that sent her falling the 50 feet to the ground. Then Naraku chucked as he withered away leaving nothing but dust.
“NOOOOOOO!!!” Inuyasha cried out in attempt to catch the girl who was slowly falling to the ground. He would never make it, he was too far away.
He watched as her body hit the ground and heard several bones break on impact. When he made it to her side a moment later he found her left arm most likely shattered and her right leg bent in the wrong direction. Her skull was no doubt cracked where it had hit the ground judging from the blood that was beginging to spread from there, and of course there was the bleeding hole in her abdomen. He looked at her face to see her smiling up at him.
“We won InuYasha. It's finally over the jewel is complete,” she said weakly opening her non-shattered hand to reveal the complete Shikon no Tama.
“That doesn't matter Kagome we have to get help some one has to heal you, your bleeding there is s
o much blood-”
“InuYasha I'm dying.”
“No your not! Your going to be okay we're going to get you fixed up and-” he said hysterical as some tears made their was down his cheeks.
“No InuYasha I'm going to die and there is nothing you can do. I'm not going to be okay, but you are. You are going to live, because this is what was meant to happen.”
No! No Kagome this isn't what was supposed to happen, I was supposed to protect you, you were supposed to live and you can't die Kagome. I'll bring you back Kagome I'll use the Shikon no Tama and I'll bring you back .”
“InuYasha,” she said calmly;” I love you with all my heart and when I die I want you to live for me and I don't want you to bring me back. I want you move past this and do the great things that you are meant for.”
“No I can't Kagome, not without you.”
“Yes...without me....InuYasha...I..love..you.....”
And with those last words Kagome closed her eyes for the last time as her heart ceased to beat and the life left her.
“No! Kagome! No,” he cried hugging her lifeless body to him he cried. For the first time in a long time he cried.
He placed her body back and ran over to Sesshomaru grabbing the front of his robes. “Bring her back! Use Tenssaiga and bring her back!”
“I can not Tensaiga does not call for me to do so,” he said calmly.
“No! Bring her back please bring her back!”
“I can not.”
He turned his back and walked away into the forest with Jaken, a crying Rin and AhUn behind him.
InuYasha turned back to Kagome to find her just as he had left her. So he carefully twisted her leg back into the right direction and placed both her hands across her chest. As he lifted her arm the Shikon no Tama rolled of her hand. He looked at the precious jewel that he had wanted for so long and hated it for everything that had happened. He decided that he would not make a wish to bring her back because that would not be a pure wish. It would have been for selfish reasons.
The next day they buried Kagome next to InuYasha's mother. For months he would sit in front of her tomb stone and just think. The world was dead to him and he was dead to the world.
He finally considered Kagome's final words and he continued to live. After about a year he began to become useful and he began to really live for himself and for Kagome.

About 483 years later InuYasha had become an architect and since he lived so long he had about four different degrees. He stilled lived in Tokyo always staying close to the well. That year Kagome was born and InuYasha was there watching outside the window when Kagome's mom brought her home. He watched her grow up and live and laugh.
Until the day of her 15th birthday.
He had thought many times about stoppign her from going into the well that day and each time his mind won over his heart and on that fateful morning of her 15th birthday he let her fall through the well and wait the days until she came back. He watched her travel back and forth through the past and even saw his younger self a few times.
Then two years later on the morning of her death he let her go hoping that he was doing the right thing by not changing the past and keeping her alive. He decided this time around he would tell her mother. So he walked upthe shrine steps and knocked on the doorof Kagome's and when her mom answered the door she welcomed bit confused at why he looked suddenly so much older. He explained that he had had been over fiver hundred years since he last saw her and that he had lived through it all.
“The reason I'm here Ms. Higurashi is because in the past the well closed up and I had to wait 500years to tell you that Kagome died today.”
Ms. Higurashi gasped in shock and burst into tears as InuYasha recalled Kagome's last words and how she didn't want to be brought back. She cried and cried and InuYasha let her remembering his mourning time. After a few hours he left and he contined on with his life.
Never forgetting his one and only Kagome who had saved his soul.

He smelt it as her scent suddenly took on a new spice that was making his mouth water in desire. He had smelt it on her a few times in the past and had on occasion smelt it on Miroku and Sango as well, but right now the source was not important. He had to get away from her before he exploded.
' I have to get out of here!' his mind screamed at him.
“Kagome- ah- I – have- need to – I- I -,” he started, but as soon as he caught a glimpse of her face as she turned slightly to look at him he couldn't hold it in any longer.

“InuYasha, You better tell me what just happed or I swear I will sit you right there and you will drown.”
He turned his head in her direction and said, “ It's nothing. Nothing happened.”
For a moment she caught the confused emotions of depression and embarrassment cross his features.
Instead of drowning him she pealed off her socks and her shoes and marched into the water after him. He was about to turn around and tell her off when she came and latched herself onto his upper torso. She was hugging him.
“I'm not letting go until you tell me what happened,” she said holding him tightly.
“ Let go Kagome the water is too cold your going to catch a cold.” he whispered into her hair.
“ Not until yo tell me!”
“ Fine,” he said wrapping his arms around her he began to whisper in to her hair.
“ I left the campsite earlier because I couldn't handle your scent and I was afraid that if I didn't leave I would hurt you. So I ran out here and then you followed me and when I saw you shivering I had to make you warm so I forgot the whole reason that I had come out here and then I lost control of my senses and I exploded.”
She pulled away from him and began to march back to shore on the verge of tears.
“ So basically you were so repulsed by the sight of me that you had to leave and then when I-”
She got about knee deep before he stopped her
No Kagome you've got it all wrong, he said pulling her back against his chest. “ I ran away because your scent was causing me to feel an immense amount of pleasure and I was afraid that if I didn't leave I might have made you do something you didn't want to do.”

InuYasha prepared the Tetssaiga and unleashed nis Wind Scar and at that particular moment Kagome had Kirara move in closer and Kagome shot an arrow directly at Naraku the exact place InuYasha had just attacked. Then for a final attack Sesshomaru attacked usoing Tokijin and Naraku was left a big mess.
As his final attack he sent a poisonous tentacle heading straight for Kagome who had just swooped into take his jewel fragment and before anyone could react in had pierced her abdomen and she gasped from the force of impact that sent her falling the 50 feet to the ground. Then Naraku chucked as he withered away leaving nothing but dust.
“NOOOOOOO!!!” Inuyasha cried out in attempt to catch the girl who was slowly falling to the ground. He would never make it, he was too far away.
He watched as her body hit the ground and heard several bones break on impact. When he made it to her side a moment later he found her left arm most likely shattered and her right leg bent in the wrong direction. Her skull was no doubt cracked where it had hit the ground judging from the blood that was beginging to spread from there, and of course there was the bleeding hole in her abdomen. He looked at her face to see her smiling up at him.
“We won InuYasha. It's finally over the jewel is complete,” she said weakly opening her non-shattered hand to reveal the complete Shikon no Tama.
“That doesn't matter Kagome we have to get help some one has to heal you, your bleeding there is s
o much blood-”
“InuYasha I'm dying.”
“No your not! Your going to be okay we're going to get you fixed up and-” he said hysterical as some tears made their was down his cheeks.
“No InuYasha I'm going to die and there is nothing you can do. I'm not going to be okay, but you are. You are going to live, because this is what was meant to happen.”
No! No Kagome this isn't what was supposed to happen, I was supposed to protect you, you were supposed to live and you can't die Kagome. I'll bring you back Kagome I'll use the Shikon no Tama and I'll bring you back .”
“InuYasha,” she said calmly;” I love you with all my heart and when I die I want you to live for me and I don't want you to bring me back. I want you move past this and do the great things that you are meant for.”
“No I can't Kagome, not without you.”
“Yes...without me....InuYasha...I..love..you.....”
And with those last words Kagome closed her eyes for the last time as her heart ceased to beat and the life left her.
“No! Kagome! No,” he cried hugging her lifeless body to him he cried. For the first time in a long time he cried.
He placed her body back and ran over to Sesshomaru grabbing the front of his robes. “Bring her back! Use Tenssaiga and bring her back!”
“I can not Tensaiga does not call for me to do so,” he said calmly.
“No! Bring her back please bring her back!”
“I can not.”
He turned his back and walked away into the forest with Jaken, a crying Rin and AhUn behind him.
InuYasha turned back to Kagome to find her just as he had left her. So he carefully twisted her leg back into the right direction and placed both her hands across her chest. As he lifted her arm the Shikon no Tama rolled of her hand. He looked at the precious jewel that he had wanted for so long and hated it for everything that had happened. He decided that he would not make a wish to bring her back because that would not be a pure wish. It would have been for selfish reasons.
The next day they buried Kagome next to InuYasha's mother. For months he would sit in front of her tomb stone and just think. The world was dead to him and he was dead to the world.
He finally considered Kagome's final words and he continued to live. After about a year he began to become useful and he began to really live for himself and for Kagome.

About 483 years later InuYasha had become an architect and since he lived so long he had about four different degrees. He stilled lived in Tokyo always staying close to the well. That year Kagome was born and InuYasha was there watching outside the window when Kagome's mom brought her home. He watched her grow up and live and laugh.
Until the day of her 15th birthday.
He had thought many times about stoppign her from going into the well that day and each time his mind won over his heart and on that fateful morning of her 15th birthday he let her fall through the well and wait the days until she came back. He watched her travel back and forth through the past and even saw his younger self a few times.
Then two years later on the morning of her death he let her go hoping that he was doing the right thing by not changing the past and keeping her alive. He decided this time around he would tell her mother. So he walked upthe shrine steps and knocked on the doorof Kagome's and when her mom answered the door she welcomed bit confused at why he looked suddenly so much older. He explained that he had had been over fiver hundred years since he last saw her and that he had lived through it all.
“The reason I'm here Ms. Higurashi is because in the past the well closed up and I had to wait 500years to tell you that Kagome died today.”
Ms. Higurashi gasped in shock and burst into tears as InuYasha recalled Kagome's last words and how she didn't want to be brought back. She cried and cried and InuYasha let her remembering his mourning time. After a few hours he left and he contined on with his life.
Never forgetting his one and only Kagome who had saved his soul.
