Chapter One:

Inuyasha lay in the tall swaying grass overlooking the Pacific Ocean. It was a long day and he was mentally tired. He had just come from his doctor's appointment. He hated doctors ever since he could recall. A flock of California Condors' flew overhead, and Inuyasha wished that he was up there with them—free from his daily struggles with his now prone love life. He never expected to fall in love with his brother.

Inuyasha sat up suddenly as a gust of wind swept his silver hair away from his face. He didn't want to think about Sesshomaru—he didn't want to recall the dominating touch the elder demon had on him. The many nights he had Inuyasha begging for some sort of release. To be honest, Inuyasha never knew he was gay—he went out with a girl once, but he never did anything more than kiss or hug her. Their relationship ended abruptly because he couldn't fathom sleeping with her. It disturbed him greatly, because he cared deeply for her, and now she was lost to him forever.

He'd heard years later that Kagome married some wolf demon, named Koga, and was extremely happy. He smiled showing off a sharp canine incisor; he was happy for her as well. However, now he had a new emotions and what was worse he was in love—head over heals—in love with his brother and he didn't understand it. Of course, his doctor said that it was normal. Normal? How could that be so? So many questions stirred his unsettling mind. How was he supposed to face his family now, at least the ones that were still alive? His aunt was a Christian fanatic, always preaching about repenting and salvation. She would literally flip out if she knew that he was gay and worse off him sleeping with her nephew. He chuckled dryly: they were going to hell!

Seeing that his alone time was up, Inuyasha needed to head for work. Being a bartender at a local nightclub had its perquisites. San Francisco was a hot spot and many celebrities ventured there to dance and socialize away from the hounding press. He growled and hoped that Sesshomaru didn't show up. Again, he thought about what the Psychiatrist said to him, that this Genetic Sexual Attraction affected many people.

Inuyasha huffed kicking a small stone that waked his path; he watched it roll onto a stone drive leading towards the highway. He couldn't help but think that the shrink was right…all the signs where there. When he met Sesshomaru, he knew there was something special about him. The way the elder demon carried himself, the way his amber eyes bore into his, sending delightful chill coursing throughout his body. Hell, even when Sesshomaru spoke…it was the most heavenly thing he'd ever heard. The attraction was immediate, and Inuyasha was saddened when he left. Although, throughout the night, the taller demon casually glanced over, checking him out. Of course, that was six months ago. Now Inuyasha was alone and seeing a professional just to keep his sanity.

He growled, Fuck Sesshomaru! Fuck Dr. Miroku...! Fuck it all!

Another stone felt the wrath of Inuyasha's shoe, as he dug through his black shorts pocket, pulling out his keys. He wanted to call off, as he did so many months ago. What bothered him the most was that he still thought of his brother thought about the night when he was jumped at the very place he worked because, he cut off Naraku!

How Sesshomaru came to his aid, and rescued him more ways than another could ever rescue him. The passion that he'd never felt, drove him to the point of insanity. Although, now that he was comfortable with his sexuality, no other made him feel the way that one demon did; and his body still yearned, hungered for the very touch. He'd thought many times if Sesshomaru was thinking about him as much as he was thinking about him? However, now the relationship was torn—split in two. He could never be with his own brother, and it killed him inside.

Although, he was alone, he never slept with anyone else,—men tried repeatedly, Inuyasha just couldn't go through with it. He searched for a love that resembled what he had with Sesshomaru, however, it wasn't there.

Opening the door to his convertible mustang, he sat in the leather seat, gripping the steering wheel tightly. He didn't care that his claws tore into the decorative black leather that covered the wheel. Inuyasha sat there as he contemplated on suicide. He was on a bluff and it would not take much just to drive his car off the cliff onto the jagged rocks below. However, he knew better—that was a coward's way out—and he certainly was no coward!

It has been two weeks since Inuyasha contemplated his very life and now he was sitting in a comfortable chair while his doctor, sat on a polished oak desk, with a yellow notepad in his lap—jotting down everything Inuyasha said. “Doc, could you go over Genetic Sexual Attraction again?”

Miroku, lowered his glasses, and brought his notepad up against his brawn chest. He couldn't believe it—Inuyasha was obsessed with this disorder. “Inuyasha…? What is it that you want to know? We discuss this every week?” Miroku stood and approached the half-demon that lay on his couch.

“I don't know?” Inuyasha answered honestly, “It just seems like I have to know more about it?—like something is left out!”

“Could you be more elaborate?” Miroku said with concern, it was his job to know everything that his client was feeling. Inuyasha was a rare case. One, he was the first half-demon he'd ever evaluated. Second, this was his first G.S.A case.

Inuyasha growled as he sat up and faced his doctor. “It's like there is something missing—I just don't understand—he was my brother for God sakes!” Inuyasha closed his amber eyes, trying to calm himself. “Hell Dr., I didn't even know I had a fucking brother!”

Miroku began writing on his pad again and stopped. He closed his eyes, “Yes, Inuyasha it must be hard on you…I can only imagine how you're feeling: confused, hurt, betrayed… am I right?”

“Feh,” Inuyasha snorted. One thing he could agree with his doctor about was Miroku could never understand what he was feeling. Who could? How can one be madly in love with their kin? It was forbidden in today's society, not to mention against the law.

Miroku chuckled, “Okay Inuyasha you win. I'll go over it again with you.” Miroku place his notepad on the rectangular table, along with his pen. “Like you said, you didn't know that Sesshomaru was your brother…am I correct?”

“Yeah…? We already established this doctor!” Inuyasha said sternly.

“Very well! Think of it like this Inuyasha…do you watch movies?”

“Yeah…? What are you getting at Dr.?” Inuyasha growled.

Miroku chuckled, “well did you see any of the Star Wars movies?”

“Yea', I've seen all of them.” Inuyasha narrowed his eyes, “where are you going with this?”

Miroku ignored his repeated question and said, “Well in Star Wars…Luke was attracted to Princess Leah…am I correct?”

Inuyasha closed his eyes and said, “Yea'…he was?” He had no idea where Miroku was going with this.

“Good… Now in episode five The Empire Strikes Back, Leah kissed Luke to make Han Solo jealous…that was before they knew that they were siblings. However, where I am going with this is because it was a similar personality that the two became attracted to. Sometimes, people can recognize the wrongness in the kiss, as with these two characters. However, sometimes the feeling of discomfort isn't there and two people not knowing that their related continue their relationship falling deeper in love than they already were.” Miroku paused as a call came on the intercom.

“Dr. Miroku, Sango is on line one.” A female voice interrupted.

Miroku smiled, as he headed toward his desk. He lifted the receiver and told the receptionist that he'd call her back after he finished with his client. He hung up the phone and approached Inuyasha who had a confused look on his face.

“Inuyasha this isn't something new…this disorder has been around for centuries. Did you ever take Greek Mythology when in High School?”

Inuyasha shook his head, “No.”

“Well it is said in Greek mythology; one version of the story of Narcissus is that the young man who madly loved his twin sister—hence the reason why he fell in love with his reflection. See when his sister died—he gazed at himself because his reflection reminded him of her. Of course, there are several stories, one that a nymph named Echo was jealous and asked Cupid to shoot an arrow at Narcissus, making him fall in love with her. However, when the arrow shot Narcissus he suddenly became obsessed with his reflection and the love he felt for his sister, which was unfortunate for the nymph. Wouldn't you agree…?” Miroku chuckled however; he shrugged it off and continued. “Another version of the story was the Greek Goddess of love: Aphrodite… she came across the handsome man, and because of the rejection she received, Aphrodite turned him into a flower.” Miroku coughed, “So it is said. I tend to get off track sometimes.”

Inuyasha shrugged his shoulders, however, as disarray, as it seemed, Inuyasha understood and related to some of these characters. “There was a striking resemblance, when I first met Sesshomaru…I couldn't relate with the attraction.” Inuyasha paused finding the right words. “It was like I knew he was the one for me…everything in my being screamed that this was right.”

Miroku began writing down on the pad of paper `resemblance' and underlined it twice. He also glanced down at his watch and his eyes widened. “Inuyasha your ten minutes over schedule.” He smiled, “don't worry I wont charge you, and please see about bringing Sesshomaru to your next session.”

Inuyasha cringed, “I-I don't know if I-I can do that?” he said with a startled tone.

“Inuyasha, just try is all I'm asking.”

“Very well…I'll try?”

Inuyasha drove home; he lived alone in downtown `J-Town' in the Hi Hon-Machi Sector. His mother had died when he turned eighteen after her long battle with lung cancer. However, instead of turning down his drive he decided to stop at the local shrine on Bush Street called the Kionko Kyo Temple. He missed the annual cherry blossom festival last month; instead, he stayed away and didn't want to socialize with the pestering neighbors. Now he needed solace and hoped that the tranquil shrine would bring him some comfort.

Inuyasha usually came here when he was younger with his mother, he wasn't a religious person; but always found comfort and peace at the temple. He was grateful when he stepped out of his vehicle that there weren't very many people around. Locking his doors and placing his keys in his blue jeans pocket. He approached a bench and watched the white doves fly around aimlessly—it was to surreal a comforting peace that Inuyasha hadn't experienced in quite some time. Here he could sit and think, without the pressures of his doctor or friends.

Inuyasha thought about that fateful day when Sesshomaru invited him to his mother's house. Of course, he was coming only as his good friend; he said that his family would disown him if they ever found out that he was gay. Inuyasha smirked; the very fearful Sesshomaru had a weakness.

Inuyasha twitched one of his white-dog like ears on top of his head. Here nobody cared that demons, half demons roamed the streets freely, and were a common site in California, unlike other cities around the United States. Hell, his friend Shippo was running for Governor in 2008. Shippo would be the first demon to ever be nominated. He was happy for the young kit, and wished the fox demon were here now consoling him on his problems. However, that would not be the case, they had lost contact a few years back and remembered him always being a good listener and giving great advice. Hell, he needed it now.

Of course, back then, Inuyasha was confused with his sexuality, and Shippo being a candidate would probably shun him for his sexuality now. Especially, that he was in love with his brother—it wasn't just a brotherly love—it reached deeper than anything Inuyasha ever expected. Which unfortunately reminded him about the party he and Sesshomaru went to? Sesshomaru wanted to show off his lover to his parents almost mockingly. That was until his father came downstairs and looked like he'd seen a ghost. Inuyasha recalled his haunting words: `son is that you…?' it was enough to make his bile rise. `Son…' how cruel can God be?—talk about a massive curve ball. He thought resentfully.

Inuyasha snarled loudly frightening a passer-by, “sorry!” he said softly. He was just pissed off—his life absolutely sucked. Not only was he torn because of an un-natural love but also his fuckin' father. All this time, Inuyasha believed his father to be dead and here he was alive. That bastard didn't even come find me! He thought dryly. All this could've been settled, if my father came to me sooner!—then I could have met my family and saved my heart from an unfortunate experience.

Inuyasha rested his head in the palm of his hands. He was feeling lost again. That was until a familiar voice pulled him from his depressed state.

“Little Brother, it's been far too long—don't you agree?”

Inuyasha didn't want to believe his brother was standing over him casting an ominous shadow—that he was just a figment of his imagination; a dreadful feeling of uncertainty, and rejection. Six months was a long time for a scenario such as his to play mindless tricks with his soul. However, he needed to confirm the voice and shadow for himself. Glancing up slowly, his eyes widened—it was him! Sesshomaru with all his glory was there at the same place. He sighed in relief that he wasn't loosing his mind completely. “I thought you never wanted to see me again?” Inuyasha answered with a cruel and bitter tone.

Sesshomaru shrugged his shoulders, as a strong breeze whipped his long flowing silver mane around his slender rounded face violently. “I needed some time Inuyasha…” he chuckled dryly, “it isn't everyday you find out your in love and sleeping with your brother!”

Inuyasha narrowed his eyes, “don't you mean half-brother!” he quipped. “Besides how did you find me?”

“I suppose I deserved that!” Sesshomaru answered snidely, sitting next to Inuyasha. “It wasn't hard, I remembered that you said that you come here once in a while, and I happened to stop by your house first. Unfortunately, you weren't home so, I drove around the neighborhood and spotted your car.”

Inuyasha was having a rough time with the sudden closeness. He closed his eyes and sighed. “I miss you…” he spoke softly. He wondered if his brother had actually heard him. However, he knew the answer; Sesshomaru had more acute hearing than he had.

“Do you mean as your brother, or as your former lover?”

Inuyasha didn't know how to answer that question, even with seeing a physiatrist, he didn't understand it. He was in love with the man before he found out that it was his own kin, instead he's sitting next to somebody that shared the same father. He turned and looked into Sesshomaru's eyes with love of a man and not as a brother. The answer was clear to him. “Sesshomaru, I don't see you as my brother—although the fact is there—I met you and fell in love with you for who you are.” He paused taking deep breaths. He could feel his heart thump rapidly in his chest. He was scared: scared of rejection.

Inuyasha looked into Sesshomaru's eyes searching for an unseen answer. Any type of clue to get up and just walk away, but there was no such luck. Sesshomaru still carried his emotionless glare…he had always been so hard to read; however, he knew there was a softer side. Sesshomaru was an enigma— a mystery of sorts and always tried finding a weakness. He was successful a few times and wished it were now. “I don't see it as incest—my heart won't allow it! I didn't know we're related, and to be honest, I don't care! I have loved no other these last six months and I'm miserable. There are so many unanswered questions running around in my head!”

“Inuyasha…?” Sesshomaru raised his eyebrow towards his brother. He didn't care that people were passing by or the birds flying around the shrine gardens. He would scream at the world if necessary. He could relate with Inuyasha, the feelings were mutual. To hear Inuyasha confession lifted a weight off his chest that he'd been harboring as well. He couldn't talk with anyone and locked it away inside. He didn't care that they were related. His feeling for him were intense, a special bond formed between them and he was afraid that had been broken. He could not survive another day without him around, and why he hunted him down instead, of calling. His eyes softened, as did his voice, “I know that you feel like I abandoned you, and to be honest, I didn't know you either. I feel the same as you! I came here to tell you that I'm sorry, and I want to try and work this out.”

Inuyasha's amber eyes widened with belief, and couldn't contain the toothy grin. It was a start.
