[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
Authors Note: Normally, my books/fanfictions are usually much longer and more detailed than this one, but as I'm under an unusually tight schedual at home, this is going to be the last chapter for this fiction. It will be relitivley long, so I hope you enjoyed it! ((I'll be writing other ones in sections like Princess Ai, and DearS.))((And please forgive the shortness of the last chapter. Gomen! ^^;))

Several days had passed since the incident, and Kagome was feeling better. She sat under the shade of a tree near Kaede's hut, as the group had returned with three new shards of the Shikon No Tama. Shippo was relaxing in the cool hut, most likely sleeping, and Sango was swimming in the near by lake, and she knew that it had something to do with Miroku's absence. Kaede was off in the feilds, helping some young children pick flowers, and Inuyasha sat Kagome on a sturdy branch.
Kagome was cool, and in a relitivley good mood. She had brought an extra change of clothes, and sat in a pair of jean shorts and a loose shirt, basking in the warm weather of the day, but not uncomfortable. "Inuyasha," she said inquiringly, almost lazily. "Hmm?" he grunted, in a drowsy state. Getting up, she turned and looked at Inuyasha. "What are we going to do once the jewel is completed?" She reached up and pulled herself onto the branch just below Inuyasha, her feet hanging off the end of it. Inuyasha shrugged, and sat up. "I'll become a full fledge demon, and Miroku can go back to being the pervert he is, without such a short life span. Sango can rebuild her village," Kagome looked up at him, pleadingly, and he looked into her eyes. "And what about me?" Inuyasha hesitated. He didn't want to anwser that. It would only make things awkward between them and he needed her to complete the jewel.
"...You'll go back to your time, where you belong." Almost immediatley after he said it, Inuyasha was almost knocked off the branch by the sense of dispair and hurt radiating from Kagomes form. "...Oh. I see." she looked over at the hut, and than up to the blue skies. A wind blew by touseling her braided hair, and she sighed."I guess it's for the best, right?" Inuyasha swallowed, and nodded slowly, looking anywhere but in her eyes.Kagome pushed herself off the branch and dusted off her pants. "I'm going for a walk. Do you want to come?" Inuyasha was about to shake his head, but figured he owed it to her. Slipping off the branch, he followed her like an obediant puppy across the feilds, and down a path towards a secluded area of the lake. As Kagome sat down in the cool grass, Inuyasha did the same, seated beside her. "The jewel is almost done, Inuyasha." she said, sadly. He nodded. "Do you really want to become a full fledge demon? It would be entirley diffrent from what you are now." Inuyasha nodded. "I know." She turned to him, tears glistening in her eyes. "And you're okay with that?" Inuyasha shrugged, trying to appear nonchalant even though it was apparent he was uncomfortable with the current topic for discussion. "I don't know. I don't really have a choice, do I?" Kagome looked down at her toes."You could stay the way you are. You're perfectly fine this way." Inuyasha snorted and looked away. "I highly doubt it," he grumbled. "Why don't you look at me anymore?" she snapped, suddenly. He turned and stared at the sky. "I do.""No." she whispered, her head turned and she stared at him, sadly. "When you look at me, all you see is Kikyou."
Inuyasha recoiled as if he'd been slapped and he turned to her, and stared at her hard. "What?" "I know thats what you think, Inuyasha. Thats all I am to you. A reincarnation. A resemblence to the woman you once loved...and, strangley, I'm okay with that."He blinked. Was he really having this conversation with her? Or was he asleep? He couldn't tell, but if it wasn't a dream, than he knew that the feelings of love, confusion and lonliness comming from Kagome must feel extremley painful. "I used to hate Kikyou," she admitted, swallowing, as she stared at her feet. "But than I realized that even though we are entirley diffrent, we have one thing in common." Inuyasha turned and looked at her, confused, and bewildered. "We both have strong feelings for you, Inuyasha." she said, shakily. "But the only diffrence between us, is that..." she swallowed again and stared hard at her feet. "Is that you dont feel the same way about me."

nuyasha was silent, and he looked down than back up at Kagome. "Kagome..."She shook her head, and whiped her eyes. "I'm going to miss you, when I go home." she said, ruefully. "I'll miss all of you." she looked over at him whiping her eyes once more. "And especially you." Inuyasha shifted. He was beginning to feel really uncomfortable with this situation. Scratching the back of his neck, he swallowed and looked out at the lake, where the suns rays were dancing upon the still surface, like ice. "I want to ask you something," she said abruptly.Inuyasha turned to look at her. "..What?" His hands clenched tightly in his lap. He didn't know what she was going to ask, but he felt that whatever it was he could at least give her what she wanted. He felt terrible. And even though he didnt show it, he always had when it came to Kagome. Not for her, but of himself. Self shame, at what he put her through, physicley and emotionally, the greed that enveloped him like a cocoon, which kept her in the Fudal era. "A favour, if you will." she said, shyly, almost embarassed. "What is it?" he snapped, irritabley. Spit it out already, he chided, inwardly. Kagome looked down. "Would you..kiss me?" Inuyashas mouth dropped open in surprise. "Kiss you?!" Kagome looked up at him and turned to face him. "It..it doesnt have to mean anything between us! I just..I just want to feel your lips on mine. That way..I can be happy, when I leave."
Inuyasha swallowed. She wasn't asking much. Just for a kiss. He felt he could do that, if it would stop him from feeling so guilty, and make her happy. Leaning forward, he pulled her close, and looked into her eyes. "..If thats what you want.." His mouth descended on hers, and his lips brushed hers. He kissed her than, his arm wrapped around her waist, gingerly, his other hand brushed her cheek. When he pulled back, Kagome looked down, her cheeks pink. "...Thankyou." she mumbled. Inuyasha stood up, and turned away. Making his way back to the tree he'd been in previousley he thought, Thats all she wanted. A simple favour.
