"Inuyasha Taisho takes dance?"

"Well you could say that."

Kagome stood with a look of shocked humor on her face. "Are we talking about the same guy? Sesshoumaru's half brother? The most popular guy at school?"

"Yes we're talking about the same guy."

"I think I need to sit down. He takes dance. I can't believe this."

"Well, it's not really his choice."

"What?"

"His dad makes him. It's punishment for turning the gym into a new graffiti wall."

"It's still funny."

At 3:00, Kagome walked into the school's dance studio to find Mr. Taisho. She noticed that no one was in there, but it was no surprise. No one at her school really liked dance very much. That's what made it so funny for Inuyasha to be dancing.

She spotted Mr. Taisho at the other side of the room.

"Mr. Taisho, you wanted to speak to me?"

"Kagome Higurashi?"

"Yes sir."

"Have you decided?"

"What kind of dancing is it?"

"Ballroom."

"Just plain ballroom?"

"Well, if you agree, I'm sure you and your partner could spice it up a little."

"And my partner is?" said Kagome, praying that he didn't say Inuyasha's name, praying that there was someone else.

"My son. Do you know him?"

"Not personally, no."

"Will you join the competition?

"Yes sir, I'll try."

"Okay, it's in July. Will you be free?"

"As far as I know."

"Good."

"I have one question though."

"And it would be?"

"Why did you pick me?"

Mr. Taisho sat down and motioned for her to do the same. He looked thoughtful for a moment before he spoke. "Kagome, from the little amount of time that I have seen you, I have concluded that you are a very down-to-earth person, you don't let the people around you upset you easily, and you have the talent that I am looking for."

"Mr. Taisho, stop."

"That's another thing about you, your modesty. You don't have an ego running out of your ears. But, do you want to know the main reason that I chose you?"

"What?"

"With all of your good qualities, especially your patience, I think that you will be able to cool my son's ego."

"Is that possible?"

"Yes, Ms. Higurashi, it is and I think that you can do it."

"I'll try."

"Okay, here's the entry form. Now, go home."

"Bye."

Mr. Taisho watched her walk out with a satisfied smile on his face.

"Mama, I'm home." said Kagome when she walked through the door to her home.

"Hello dear. How was your day?"

"Same as always."

"Oh, before I forget, your teacher called.

"Which one?"

"He said his name was Mr. Taisho."

"Oh. What did he want?"

"He said that you have a form for me to sign."

"Yeah."

"Well?"

"He wants me to sign up for a ballroom dancing competition."

"With who?"

"His son."

Mrs. Higurashi could tell that her daughter was positively 'thrilled'. He was rich and popular, and he had an ego the size of Texas. Oh, this was going to be interesting.

"Well, let me sign it."

Kagome handed her the paper, waited for her to give it back, and went to her room.

"You're gonna make me do what?" yelled Inuyasha.

"You're going to be in a dance competition." said his dad.

"You can't do that. It's bad enough that you make me take dance."

"I can and I will. You will do this. I have already found you a partner."

"Who?"

"Kagome Higurashi."

"Who's that?"

"You'll see tomorrow."

'This is gonna be a long summer.' thought Inuyasha as he rolled his violet eyes and went ,quite noisily, to his room.
