The groggy inu hanyou got up out of his king sized bed and started getting ready to go to headquarters

of the Earthcrawlers ninja clan and got dressed in his rank ninja outfit that had many hidden pockets to store

weapons and stealth equipment and was that was baggy around the joints to make it much easier to move

and was a blood red showed that he was third class with his brother as the second rank and their leader

Totosia first. Their was only one who was also a third class and that was hi partner Sango. He then headed

towards a cave near the edge of the forest.


Inu Yasha headed towards the training area to met up with Sango and to begin the morning exercises. He

got there earlier than her which was no surprise seeing as she never had been much of a morning person so

he went through the exercises which consisted first of dislodging his joints in order to be able to change his

body to look like the environment followed up by climbing a rock wall only allowed to use his thumb and

pinkie and last of all came the covert course.


This was the exercise that if didn’t get past it you didn’t live. The clan believed that if you couldn’t keep

concealed then you were going to die anyway and many would rather die for failure than live with disgrace.

Inu Yasha had not once failed once in his even before he had been in the clan when he had been an assassin.

Now in the new course he realized that the first thing that he would need to do was either break the lights in

the room or take out the dummy guards, and never one for being subtle he decided to take out the guards by

throwing a bladed disc which slit all their necks at the same time while administering a quick acting poison

while stopping the blood from coming to make sure that any missed guards from finding them. He then

commenced in chanting a concealing spell and one to move them out of the way.


Inu Yasha then moved onto the next room which the guards were too numerous to take out and were

sound detecting so he decided that that he would need a distraction. Lucky for him he always carried around

some rocks for just such an occasion and threw one towards a pipe and it let out a loud ringing noise that

lasted long enough for Inu Yasha to get trough that room.


What Inu Yasha found in there pleased him to no ends. It was his half-brother Sesshomaru and it was

apparent that they were supposed to battle until blood was drawn. “Hey Sesshomaru, looks like I’ve found

my first punching bag of the day.” “Funny runt because I see the same thing, to bad it won’t stay together

for to long.” “Big words coming from a dead man.” Then Inu Yasha took a small knife and threw it

towards Sesshomaru dodged it while it hit the wall at the other side of the wall and ran towards him and

then hit Inu Yasha with an uppercut. He went flying in the air but he flipped over and kicked Sesshomaru on

the way down and was about to bring his claws down own his face but Sesshomaru flipped Inu Yasha on to

the ground with a loud thud but was up soon and rushed over and grabbed his leg and smashed him into the

wall and then threw him across the room but then Sesshomaru used his whip and pulled him over there and

said, “Any last words?” “Yeah, I win!” Sesshomaru looked confused until Inu Yasha kicked the knife from

earlier and made it nick his face. Sesshomaru let go of Inu Yasha and Inu Yasha walked out of the room and

saw Sango looking very impressed.

“For a minute I thought that I was going to have to get a new partner.” “Feh, shows what you know,

you dang cats are always worrying about nothing.” “And whoever said that I was worried.” “What’s that

supposed to mean, what else would you be thinking.” “I just thought that a new partner would be nicer and

much cuter and a lot smarter than you for sure.” “Yeah and I’m sure you’d be dead on your first mission

with him too.” “Yeah right as I remember it, I saved you from that bird youkia on our last mission.” “Yeah

because I had pushed you out of the way before it got you from behind.” Right then Totosia who had come

in at about the time that they had been arguing about who saved who and decided that it was time to

intervene. “Ahem.” Both Inu Yasha and Sango came to attention and in unison said “Yes sir.” “As you

know we have been having some financial problems and so we have set ourselves up as mercenaries until we

have gotten enough money to get rid of the problems, well we have just gotten an offer that will take care of

us for a good many years. We are to take down an dark miko by the name of Kikiyo.” “I thought that all the

mikos have been gone for centuries,” Sango said. “Well it appears that one has appeared and if I’m correct

we could have a lot more on our hands soon.”
