InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ A Way Back Home ❯ The Cave ( Chapter 1 )
(Tokui Yaiba means Pride Blade, Mokumoku Uindo means Silent Wind, and Koi Hitotsu means Dense One)
So, in the end, Inuyasha destroyed Naraku, the jewel of four souls was put back together, and all was good. Too bad it didn't stay that way…..
It was finally winter break and all the school kids were going on vacation and relaxing for two weeks. Tokui Yaiba, a sixteen year old eleventh grader, sat behind the wheel of her car, driving. Sitting beside her was Mokumoku Uindo, her fifteen year old friend in tenth grade.
"We're almost there," Tokui said, though she knew it was pointless talking to Mokumoku. The two hour trip with no radio and no conversation was about to drive Tokui crazy.
They turned into a long dirt road in the middle of a field of flowers. At the end of the road was a beautiful two story blue and white house. About four hundred feet away was a small building about four feet by five feet and seven feet tall.
Tokui parked the car and both girls got out. Koi Hitotsu, a seventeen year old in eleventh grade and a good friend of the girls ran over to them.
The three couldn't have looked more different. Tokui had long blond hair and green eyes. She was wearing short-shorts with a belly shirt that showed her two tattoos. One tattoo was on her left shoulder was the Japanese written word `Energy' while the other on her right shoulder was `Endure'. Mokumoku had even longer brown almost black hair and dark brown eyes. She was wearing a black dress that came all the way down to her ankles. Koi had short light brown hair and baby blue eyes. She was wearing blue jeans and a tee-shirt.
"Hey! You made it!" She said hugging them.
"So this is your vacation house…. Nice," Tokui said, staring at the house.
Mokumoku pointed to the small building.
"Huh? Oh, that's a room that leads into an underground cave," Koi said. All three stood staring at it. "I had a friend over that an sense auras and she said she felt an evil aura coming from deep inside the cave. She said it was inhuman."
"What else do you know about it?" Tokui asked.
"Well, it's said that a group of friends went down and only one came back. He said that everyone was sucked into the ground in two's and three's…." There was pure silence.
"….. Well, lets go in, shall we? I've been driving for two hours, I could do with a snack," Tokui said, trying to break the silence. Koi nodded and the two walked towards the house, while Mokumoku still stared at the building.
Come on, Mokumoku," both called. Mokumoku turned and walked to the house. Most of the day was spent talking about what they were going to do after high school, talking about guys, and watching anime. After supper and a movie, the girls were ready for bed. Tokui and Mokumoku were sleeping on an air mattress while Koi slept in her bed.
Tokui was dreaming of the cute guy in that sat next to her in Science then…
"Tokui…… Tokui….." A voice come from nowhere.
"Who's calling me?" she thought out loud.
"Tokui, come to me. Come and find me. Find me, Tokui," the voice softly demanded.
"Who are you? What do you want with me?" She questioned the voice.
"Come to me…. Find me…. Tokui…." the voice said. Suddenly there was a blinding green light.
Tokui woke with a start to find Mokumoku and Koi on the bed. She looked at the clock. It was only 7:30 am. "How can you people be awake this early?" she asked.
"Mokumoku have dream," muumuu said. This woke Tokui right up. It wasn't so much Mokumoku talking, but the dream she had. "Voice call Mokumoku."
"I had that same dream," Tokui said, recalling her dream from last night. "Someone was calling me and telling me to come and find them."
"I dream about that voice everyday I'm here. I believe it's coming from the cave," Koi said quietly.
"What? How is that possible? A cave can't call people and give them strange dreams!" Tokui said.
Koi shook her head and walked over to her window, which she could see the building from. "I stayed up late one night and about midnight, a green light was coming from the building, then I heard a voice, the same voice from our dreams, saying the same words from our dreams. About ten minutes later, the light was overtaking my room and I couldn't open my eyes, then it just disappeared. When I asked about anyone else seeing it the next morning, my parents and Mabui said they were up watching a movie, but they didn't see the green light."
One again there was pure silence. All three girls stared out the window.
"Girls!' called a voice. All three jumped up and ran into the closet.
"Wait! It was only Koi's mom. What were you two scared for? Thinking it was `the voice'?" Tokui laughed as she left the closet and headed downstairs.
Koi and Mokumoku stood dumbstruck staring at Tokui. Then Koi yelled, "You were just as scared!" while Mokumoku yelled, "You scared, you scared."
"Don't know what you are talking about," Tokui commented. "I only got in the closet so you two didn't feel bad about being chickens."
"Why you…." Koi hissed, but before she could finish her sentence, her dad said, "We'll be gone for a couple of hours. You know the rules, no parties, no boys, no opening the door for people you don't know. And if you do go outside, don't wonder too far off."
"Yes, Sir," all three said. "Bye!" Koi's parents and seventeen year old brother, Mabui waved and walked out. The girls waited until the car had pulled away from the drive way before talking again.
"So, we're going to the cave, right?" Tokui asked, looking over at Koi and Mokumoku.
"Yeah, we're going to have to," Koi said, not looking happy about this decision, as was Mokumoku. Tokui, on the other hand, looked excited.
"Hold on!" Tokui said as the other two headed towards the door. They stopped and turned around. "I have to get my Kendo stick!" Tokui ran upstairs and grabbed her kendo stick.
"Why do you need that!?" Koi, asked half way yelling.
"'Cause there might be a snake or something and I have to be able to defend you two," Tokui said, causing Koi to try and leap at her, but Mokumoku held her back.
"Cave. Go see cave. Together," Mokumoku said to calm Koi down.
"Yeah, yeah," Koi said trying and failing to act like she wasn't upset.
The three girls walked over to the building and stood right in front of it and looked at it as if trying to stare it down.
"Well, how wants to go first?" Tokui asked with a hint of fear in her voice.
"Well, since you are the one protecting us, you go first," Koi said to Tokui, glaring at her. Mokumoku rolled her eyes.
"You know what? You're right! Besides it's probably just some stupid kid playing a trick," Tokui said, though she hadn't quite convinced herself of that yet nor the others. Tokui opened the door to find the building was only a small room with a hole in the middle of it. In the hole, a ladder lead deeper underground.
Tokui shook her head and keep repeating, "Think happy thoughts, think happy thoughts." until Koi told her to hurry up and go down. Tokui took a deep breath then, headed down the hole.
It wasn't' pitch black like she had expected, instead it was quiet bright because of light torches. Koi stopped at the entrance to the cave shook her head and continued on.
The cave ended with a big circle room. "See you guys. I told you it was nothing! Guys?" Tokui turned around to find no one there. She was sure they had entered the room with her. "Very funny, you guys. You can come out now." But nothing happened.
Tokui started to get scared and looked around the room wildly. Suddenly the ground began to shake wildly. Her feet were sucked into the ground. Tokui started screaming then all went black.
Elsewhere in a forest, Yuuki Ataenushi told the story of Kagome and the Jewel of Four souls to Kei Tataki.
Yuuki Ataenushi was a seventeen year old thunder demon. He had golden blond hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a white and yellow kimono. Kei Tataki was a seventeen year old demon exterminator. He had black hair with blue streaks and ocean blue eyes. He was wearing a black and blue kimono.
"Finally, Inuyasha destroyed Naraku, which destroyed the detachments, and then Kagome put the Jewel of Four Souls together again. All was happy and peaceful again," Yuuki said and he finally ended his story. Suddenly the ground shook and Kei nearly fell out of the tree he was sitting in.
"Too bad it didn't stay `happy and peaceful'," Kei replied.
"Hey! I'm sure Inuyasha, Kagome, and all the others are searching right now for the pieces of the jewel!" Yuuki said.
"Yeah, yeah. I just wish they hadn't broke it. Things would have been a lot nicer around here," Kei said yawning.
"It wasn't their fault!" Yuuki yelled.
"Yeah, and I'm King of the World. You know as good as I do that adults made that story up so kids would go to sleep and dream of becoming 'knights in shinning armor'," Kei replied.
"Yeah? How much you wanna bet?" came a voice from behind the tree.
"Huh?" Both turned and saw Inuyasha standing beside Kei's tree.
