InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ A Way Back Home ❯ I'll help you... ( Chapter 2 )
(Kei Tataki means Strong Fight and Yuuki Ataenushi means Courage giver.)
There was a gentle breeze blowing and the sun was just starting to raise. The birds where whistling their songs and the whole world was waking up.
Mokumoku laid sleeping in a grass made bed. She was peaceful, then stirred from her slumber. She opened her eyes and yawned.
"Finally awake huh?" came Koi's voice from behind her. Mokumoku flipped over and started at her. "Hungry?"
Mokumoku nodded and Koi handed her a plate with eggs and bacon. Mokumoku ate, but keep her eyes on Koi. She know something was up.
"Mokumoku," Koi said taking the plate when she was done, "I have bad new. Now don't freak out, but I have to tell you something. Do you remember the anime called `Inuyasha'?" Mokumoku nodded her head. "Well, seems it's real and we are in ancient Japan."
"Who are you!?" Kei said jumping out of his tree.
"Isn't it obvious? He's Inuyasha! The great…." Yuuki started.
"No, he's not! That's just a story made up by adults, I told you that already," Kei said.
"Oh, really?" Inuyasha said smiling at the two. Inuyasha pulled out the Tessaiga, making Yuuki `oh' and `ah'.
"Inuyasha turned into a human after wishing upon the Jewel," Kei said staring at Inuyasha. Yuuki looked disappointed, but nodded his head.
"Yeah, but when the Jewel was destroyed all the wishes where taken back," Inuyasha said still smiling. Yuuki's eyes light up with excitement once again. "Sango needs a favor."
"What kind of favor?" Kei asked.
"If you come with me, I'll tell you," Inuyasha replied.
"Ancient…. Japan…." Mokumoku repeated.
"Yep. Well, you don't seem to surprised," Koi said.
"Shocked, not surprised," Mokumoku said making Koi laugh. A girl suddenly entered the room. It was Kagome.
"Oh, you're up. As I'm you know, I'm Kagome," she said smiling. Mokumoku nodded.
"Cave brought here," Mokumoku said.
"Yep, the cave's the reason we're here. I think," Koi said trying to remember.
"Hey, Kagome! I brought Kei and Yuuki," came Inuyasha's voice from outside. The three stepped outside to find Inuyasha, Kei, and Yuuki walking up, while Sango, Miroku, and Shippo sat down on the steps.
"Long time, no see, Miroku! Sango!" Kei said waving.
"You know him?" Kagome asked Miroku and Sango.
"Well, he is an old demon exterminator friend of Sango's and I meet him when we got married," Miroku said waving back.
"So, what's this all about, Sango?" Kei asked.
"Ask Kagome. She asked me to ask you to help," Sango said looking over at Kagome. Kei moved his eyes from Sango to Kagome.
"Ah. I see. So, what may I do for you?" Kei asked.
"These two girls are from my time," Kagome said pointing at Mokumoku and Koi. "They lost a friend of theirs when they came here. I need your help to find their friend."
"Ok, explain about this `friend'," Kei said.
"Well, Tokui had come up with Mokumoku to visit me at my vacation house. Well, there's this cave by my house that calls to us, but no one else can see or hear it. So we decided to check it out. We ended up in a circular room and then……… I don't remember," Koi said. No one said anything just stared at Koi. "Our friend Tokui was with us, but Kagome said they searched everywhere but didn't find anybody else."
"Do you even know if she came here?" Yuuki asked. Koi shook her head. There was suddenly a tense air.
"Tokui alone. Mokumoku feel it," Mokumoku said staring at the sky. Everyone but Kagome and Koi jumped and turned to her.
"She talks? I thought she was mute!" Shippo said.
"No, she doesn't like talking. Only Tokui knows why though. Now what about Tokui?" Koi asked.
"Tokui safe now. Find her, he did," Mokumoku said.
"Who? Who found her, Mokumoku! Try to concentrate," Koi said.
"Um, what's going on?" Inuyasha asked.
"Mokumoku must be a psychic of some kind," Miroku told the others, making them all nod their heads in understanding.
"Demon. Nice demon," Mokumoku said. "That all Mokumoku know."
"A nice demon? Aren't to many of those," Inuyasha said.
"Did he have a tail and funny clothes? With black hair?" Kagome asked.
"….. Yes, along with group of….. Wolves, Mokumoku think," Mokumoku said trying to think harder.
"Kouga. It has to be Kouga," Kagome said.
"Ok, I get this girl is a friend of yours, but if Kouga has her, why not let him take care of her?" Kei asked.
"Tokui trouble. Bad demon looking. Will find," Mokumoku said.
"Huh?" Everyone but Koi said.
"She means Tokui is a trouble maker. Bad demon…….. Most likely Naraku is looking for her. And he's going to find her," Koi restated.
"And that worries you because Naraku will hurt her?" Yuuki asked.
"Tokui. Evil. No," Mokumoku said. Everyone turned back to Koi who rolled her eyes.
"Tokui plus evil equals not a good thing. Who knows what Tokui will do if Naraku offers her something worth wild," Koi said.
"And why are you afraid of that?" Kei asked.
"Tokui is strong. Both physically and mentally. Not to mention a martial arts champion and kendo master. She's a worthy opponent," Koi said shaking her head.
"Well, then we better get to finding her, right? Before she becomes our enemy?" Kagome asked.
"Tokui in danger," Mokumoku said.
"If Tokui doesn't realize how strong Naraku is, she may be in danger. She may just do something stupid," Koi said. Everyone went really quiet.
"I'll help you," Kei said suddenly.
"What?" Yuuki asked.
"I said, I'll help them. I know that I wouldn't want to be separated from you, even if you can take care of yourself. So, when do we leave?" Kei replied.
"In the morning," Miroku said staring at the sky. It was already night fall.
"Geeze! Doesn't time travel fast when your explaining?" Koi said. They all laughed and headed inside.
Mokumoku continued to stared at the sky. "Be safe, Tokui. Be safe," Mokumoku whispered and headed inside.
Somewhere far away, Tokui woke up to find herself in a dimly light cave. She could hardly make out the outline of her kendo stick. "Hey! Who turned off the lights?" Tokui groaned getting up.
"About time! You've been sleeping all day!" came a voice behind her.
"What are you……." She stopped talking when she turned around. She was staring face to face with Kouga, the wolf demon. "Ahhhhhhh!!!! Holy shit!"
"Damn it! Don't yell so loud!" He yelled back. She stared at him a while looking him over.
"This is a dream," She said at last. "It has to be."
"Nope, not a dream. As you obviously know, I'm Kouga," Kouga replied. She started shaking her head.
"Oh, man. I swear I'll change! No!!!!!! I'm suck in Ancient Japan!!!!!!!! Damn curiosity! It may have killed the cat, but it's going to drive me crazy!" Tokui said falling her knees.
"What are you talking about?" Kouga said.
"I came from Kagome's time. But, how did I end up here? And where are my friends?" Tokui asked.
"Ok, Kagome's time, I understand. You're here, because I found you unconscious and had to take you to safety. But I have no idea about your friends. I only found you. And there was no one in thirty miles of you," Kouga replied.
"Koi…….. Mokumoku……. Man, I hope they're alright," Tokui said sadly. "So, what's going on? Why wasn't I safe where you found me?"
"Naraku's demons were crawling all over you. I had to get you out of there," Kouga said.
"But I thought Naraku was destroyed," Tokui replied.
"He was," came a voice. Both turned to see Ayame. "Naraku was revived by someone. No body knows by who. He recreated his detachments and has again caused pain and suffering for people. The Inuyasha gang tried to stop him, but in the process, the jewel was broken. So it's shards are once again hunted. Now what's this thing about your friends?"
"Well, I was visiting my friend Koi in her summer house along with my friend Mokumoku. Well, there's this cave by her house and we went exploring in it. One minute they're in the cave with me, then poof! Gone. Then I was sucked into the ground and finally everything went black……" Tokui said staring at the ground sadly.
"I see," Kouga said when Tokui was done. "I don't think Naraku has them, `cause the demons didn't smell of any human other than you. If we're lucky, Inuyasha has them. But for now, you need rest."
"Why?" Tokui asked.
Ayame replied, "Because in the morning, we leave. We're going to help you find your friends."
