InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ A World Apart ❯ Drama, drama, drama ( Chapter 2 )
[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
I forgot to mention in the first chapter that I don't own Inuyasha or any of the characters. If I did, the ending would be a whole lot better. Nothing else to say so here's chap. 2.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~-----*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ *~*
Inuyasha's body jolted forward hard enough to cause whiplash. He saw the on coming car, but he didn't react in time to move his own car so he sat there taking the hit head on.
Holding his neck, he got out and checked the driver in the other car first. `Shit she's bleeding. She looks to be in shock too.' He said to himself. Taking out his cell phone he dialed the emergency number, checking the damage to his car as he waited for an operator.
Kagome finally getting over what had happened got out of her car as well heading over to the man talking on his phone. She didn't know what to do. She's never been in an accident in all the years she's been driving. She's tried to avoid anything that had to do with accidents because she didn't have the money to pay for them.
“The ambulance is coming as are the police.” the man said stretching his neck a little.
“I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. I don't know why I did this. I'm so sorry.”
Inuyasha looked at the woman in front of him. He figured she was upset about the car. Then an idea crossed his mind, an evil idea.
“Hey wench, you see what the hell you did to my car? That's $100,150 right there! I hope you have the money to pay to pay this shit off.” Inuyasha shouted.
Kagome slowly turned her head towards the man addressing her. “Look, I don't have the money right now, but if you give me the address to your work place I'll gladly pay you back. Right now I don't have the-”
“You don't have it? Well you better have when we get to fucking court because I'm suing the shit out of your reckless driving ass.” Inuyasha said taking his phone out again and dialing a number.
`Fuck! That's the last thing I need right now.' Kagome said going back to her car.
Her phone was ringing and she got there just in time for the last ring.
“Hello.”
“Kagome where the hell are you!”
“Kagura, I'm sorry I was running late and then-”
“Save your damned excuses for someone who cares Higurashi!”
“Kagura please listen to me, I'm sorry for not getting-”
“I've had enough of your tardiness Higurashi! You're Fired!” *click*
Kagome stared at her phone in disbelief. She just got fired from the only great paying job she knew. Letting her knees give out on her, she collapsed on the street, sobbing silently.
Inuyasha heard the whole conversation, seeing that his ears could pick up on the slightest sound around him. `Fucking Kagura.'
Inuyasha couldn't just stand there watching his grown woman weep. His heart couldn't stand to see women cry.
“Hey, you okay? He asked kneeling next to her.
“Sounds like whoever that was was giving you a hard time.”
“That was my boss. She's constantly on my ass about being late, but I can't help that. I have two six year olds to take care of in the morning, and since there isn't a bus that goes through our neighborhood, I have to drive them to school, then to work.”
Inuyasha placed his hand on her shoulder. He felt sorry for her. He knew Kagura all to well. She was hard on her secretaries and if this woman was one of them, then she would be the sixth one this month.
A car pulled up behind them. Inuyasha smiled at the driver then asked if the woman if she needed a ride anywhere.
“No, I couldn't possibly be a burden on you. I'm sure you need to get to work and I'm not sure if your friend would want to drive all the way to Station Park.” Kagome said politely refusing the offer.
“It's not a problem. Plus I don't have to work today,” Inuyasha lied.
“And besides, my friend wouldn't mind driving you where ever you needed to go.” Inuyasha said smiling.
Kagome smiled back and finally accepted the offer getting into the backseat of the blue Sedan.
“Inuyasha, your bringing more and more beautiful girls around me every time I see you.” The driver said when Inuyasha closed his door.
“Shut up and drive Miroku.”
“As you wish.”
The car ride was silent except for the music playing softly from the radio. Inuyasha looked in the rearview mirror at Kagome.
“So what's your name?” he asked.
Just as Kagome was about to answer him, their phones rang. Simultaneously they answered their phones and simultaneously their faces turned from soft and gentle, to aggravated and annoyed.
All together now. “Again!”
The man named Miroku looked from his friend to the passenger in the back seat, wondering what could make them act in similar fashions.
Hanging up his phone, Inuyasha turned to Kagome. “I hope you don't mind if we take a little detour before we drop you off.”
“Not at all. Actually, I wanted to know if you wouldn't mind taking me to Jukoku Elementary.” Kagome said pocketing her phone.
“Actually, that's where I need to go. Miroku, sorry about this.” Inuyasha said to his friend.
“Not a problem man. I do wonder what my godson has done now though.” Miroku said with a smile.
“Oh and to answer you earlier question, my name's Higurashi Kagome.” Kagome said looking out her window.
“Taisho Inuyasha.” Inuyasha said reaching his hand back shaking hers.
“And this is my perverted friend Suzuki Miroku.”
“Pleasure madam.”
A small smile appeared on Kagome's face as Miroku turned a corner towards the school.

*Jukoku Elementary*
“Ms. Higurashi. Mr. Taisho. I'm very sorry to have to call you both into my office again, but as you already know, both of your sons have gotten into another fight.”
Both parents looked at their sons. Riku found something interesting on the floor he decided to stare at while Rei played with his zipper to his book bag.
“I'm sorry to say that I have to take extreme measures on their actions. I have been too lenient with them the first 5 times, and now I think it's time we change the routine.” The principal said.
He turned to face to two young boys. “Reiji Taisho and Riku Higurashi, you both will be suspended for two weeks.”
“What? You can't suspend me! I didn't do anything! It was all retard over here that started the whole thing.”
“Reiji!” the authority in his father's voice instantly made the boy sit back down in his seat.
“Apologize Reiji. Now!” Inuyasha said to his son.
“But dad…”
Inuyasha whispered something into Reiji's ear and the boy's eyes widened.
Kagome quirked her eyebrow, wondering what he could have said to the child. Reiji apologized to both Riku and Kagome for his comment then hung his head low.
“As I was saying, you two will be suspended for two weeks to get yourselves together. When you come back I want two new young men being friendly to one another and not fighting. Next time you both will be expelled from Jukoku Elementary.”
The principle dismissed them all from his office. Exiting the school, Kagome took out her cell phone and dialed a number.
“Hello.”
“Hey Sango, can you come pick me and the kids up in front of the school?”
“This early? It's not even noon yet.”
“I know. I'll explain later.”
“Alright I'll be there in a bit.”
Hanging up, Kagome kneeled down to Riku's height. “When we get home I'm going to give you a box-”
“But mommy…”
“I'm going to give you a box, and I want you to put all of your toys in there. Then you're going to go to my room and sit there and wait for me to get upstairs.” Kagome said softly.
“But mommy, it wasn't my fault. He-he s-s-said…he called Rika names. And he made her cry.” Riku stuttered through his tears.
“Did he hit you?”
“No.”
“Did he hit Rika?”
“No.”
“Did you hit him first?”
Riku didn't answer which told Kagome what she needed to know. Standing back up into full position she entered the school once more with Riku to call for Rika. The secretary complied and soon Rika was in her mother's arms.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Inuyasha stood outside the school wondering where Miroku could have went in 25 minutes.
`He probably saw another chick walking down the street.' He said to himself.
Standing next to him, Reiji was crying silent tears. Inuyasha glanced at his son all the while he listened to the conversation a few feet away.
“…and put all of your toys in there.”
He was sure Reiji heard her too, which was why he was crying. Reiji knew his father was a fun guy. Hell he was better than any other parent he knew, but he also knew that Inuyasha was strict when it came down to school and his behavior.
Inuyasha already told Reiji what he was going to take away from him in the principle's office. That's punishment enough for his son, at least he would think so. He's never have to punish Reiji physically and he doesn't plan to do so anytime soon, but he's threatened him plenty of times to scare him into believing that he would. Looking back at the woman knelt by her son, he could tell she wasn't one who physically punishes her children either.
Inuyasha watched Kagome's retreating form as she headed back into the school. She came back out with another child who looked identical to the little boy.
*“I have two six year olds at home.”*
`Must be twins. But now that I think about it, why are human children going to a demon's school?'
Just as he was about to walk over to Kagome, a blue Sedan and a silver Acura came down the street stopping in front of the school. A woman with flowing brown hair stepped out of her car to embrace the two children, wiping the tears away from the little boy.
Inuyasha recognized her immediately. “So I see someone decided to take the day off today, Ms. Seki.”
The woman whom Inuyasha addressed slowly turned around to face an irritated hanyou. She obviously wasn't expecting to see him here.
“Mr. Taisho. What brings you all the way out here? I thought you were at work today?” she asked.
“I could ask you the same thing Sango Seki.” Inuyasha said crossing his arms.
By this time Miroku came onto the scene and look from one person to the other along with Kagome.
“You two know each other?” they asked simultaneously.
“Uh, I kinda work for him Kags. Along with Miroku.”
“Really? You never told me that.”
“You never asked. And Miroku, why didn't you ever tell me that you knew Mr. Taisho personally? I just thought he was your boss, not you friend.” Sango said crossing her arms.
“What does it matter to you? It's not like your fu…dating him.” Inuyasha said catching himself in mid sentence. He forgot there were children still around.
“Actually Inuyasha, we are. We actually planned on getting hitched next May.” Miroku said scratching his head.
Inuyasha and Kagome looked at their individual friends feeling a bit betrayed. Neither of them had introduced the other, and now they find out that they were never going to be told about a wedding either. What kind of friends were they?
“You know what, there is way too much drama going on today and I think I've had just about enough of it.” Kagome said after a few moments.
“Sango, whenever you're ready to head out let me know. Riku, Rika get in the car please.”
Kagome then turned to Inuyasha and Miroku. “It was nice to meet the both of you. Hopefully we can meet again.”
“Likewise.” Both men said together.
Turning Kagome got into the car. Sango came in right behind her and drove off.
“Sorry about not telling you about Miroku, Kags.”
“It's not a problem, really. You most likely have your reason for hiding him.” Kagome said turning to her friend with a smile.
Sango smiled back and turned up the music on her radio.

Another chapter ended. Not sure how good this is turning out though. Review please.
