Ok, so here's how this works, Kagomae's the biggest punk at moon star high, her mom has just lost her job & her family is pretty down on their luck right now so there moving in with her grandpa at, yup you guessed it sunset shrine…. I can't promise much for this story well, cause I just started righting it off the top of my head ^.^ …but anyways enjoy!

Chapter 1, saying goodbye

Kagomae Higarushi sat miserably waiting in the passenger seat of an ugly yellow U-Hall; this really is the end of the world she thought glumly.

Her family was moving in with her grandpa at sunset shrine, a place of mystery she had always loved. As a child she would have gladly given up everything to move there, but now, no, now everything was different, she had a life now, friends, a job… a boyfriend, oh that was another thing she had to worry about, what was going to happen to her & Koga now? (Yes, that's right, her & Koga are dating, got a problem with it?)

"Kagomae?" her mothers voice came tumbling into her thoughts of misery just as she was contemplating (ooo…big word!) running away to the circus. "Yeah mom?" she replied absentmindedly "could you come help me pack up the last of souta's soccer things?" she said smiling. "He'll need them for when we get to the shrine…don't tell him but grandpa's been working on a soccer goal for him so he doesn't get rusty in the off season!"

That's just like mom Kagomae thought. worrying about souta's soccer abilities when I'm the one having a breakdown here! She sighed & turned down the cradle of filth that had previously been blaring (yup that's right! She listens to cradle of filth, to all of you who don't know who that is go to hell, this is my story!) & Jumped out of the U-Hall only pausing to kick it's back tires in contempt. Her black bondage pants' straps snagged on the bumper & she was sent flying face first into the gravel driveway, she was bracing herself for impact & hoping her untamed miko powers would save her from a seriously embarrassing moment when a strong pair of arms caught her, pulled her up & into a tight hug, she recognized the feint scent of motor oil & cigarette smoke in his clothes immediately Koga! She thought her heart was about to explode with joy & longing to stay with him forever, she buried her face into his chest, wanting to remember him now just as he was, perfect.

"I'm so sorry, Koga" she whispered into his chest, silent tears trickling down her face.

He tilted her head up gently with his right hand & smiling softly said "for what? I love you, you know that right?" she nodded "and you love me right?" again she nodded, to sad for words "then what's a few miles between us?"

He was being as comforting as he could but really he was dieing inside, Kagomae had rescued him from a hatred of life that had almost consumed his entire soul, he couldn't imagine a life without her.

Kagomae echoed his thoughts completely; she couldn't imagine life without him & had thought she never would have to. (Oh how wrong she was *maniacal laughter*)

"Kagomae Higarushi!" came her mom's voice impatiently "I thought I told you to help me with the packing, you can say goodbye to Koga later!"

Kagomae sighed & pushed out of Koga's embrace, Koga still clung to her hand "I'll help ok?" he said hopefully, any time he had left with her he sure as hell wasn't going to waste.

She smiled "ok, if you really want to" he wrapped his arms around her waist from behind & nuzzled her neck "are you kidding? There's no place I'd rather be right now" she was on the verge of cracking up, her hanyo wolf-boy was acting extra corny today, usually she would tease him for acting like this, but today, today was different, today she promised herself to treasure every moment they had left together, she hugged him tight, not knowing that soon there love would be put to the test….
