NineSesshoumaru was strolling through his halls on his way to the dojo when he heard a loud, but familiar smacking sound. Without hesitation, his feet carried him across the polished wood to the alternate hall.Sango glared up at Miroku, who was currently sporting perhaps the brightest handprint of all time. "I was just saying that it would be far more comfortable if you slept with hiraikotsu on the floor. I am only looking after your well being." the monk was trying to assure her in jovial tone. The demon lord and the slayer hmpfed at the same time. Yeah right."Monk," came the wintry tones of the great demon and both humans spun to face him, "If you insist on disrupting the peace of my home, then by all means do it elsewhere.. I have no need to hear it." His face was bored as ever. The smooth pale planes of a sculpted angel. Sango bowed at once and began to apologize, but he waved her away, "Perhaps Sango you should see one of the soldiers and have your handprint tattooed to the monk's face. It might save you time as he wears it daily."Her back stiffened and she frowned at him and then the monk who'd gotten her into such a position. "Just working out a little frustration." she assured him. The demon's eyes glittered at this, "Then you shall come with me, I have need of such diversions myself." He ordered.Currently in his palace the only one he WANTED To spar with was the infuriating woman locked in his rooms, but the slayer would do. She arched a dark brow at him, her almond brown eyes wide. "You wish to spar Sesshoumaru?" she asked, a little breathless, he would be a challenge. At his nod, she followed after him, ponytail swishing gently. Miroku could only watch her go.Ayeka paced the floor in the early morning light. She was angry that she was once more locked away in the room that loomed above her. Sesshoumaru had said they would be discussing many things this morning and she felt her stomach tie itself in knots. He could say anything, do anything! What if he demanded children now? What if he didn't want her anymore. The more she thought, the more she paced and the more she paced, the madder she got.His words from the night before still stabbed at her. No heart, he thought she had no heart. Of course that wasn't true because it thudded painfully right now and longed for him, but she couldn't tell him that. It would make no difference now. None at all. He'd always been cold and reserved but when had he grown THAT cold? She rubbed her arms through her sleeves, trying to ward off a chill that she felt from within. Kagome had woken once more in Inuyasha's arms, though she knew that he'd been awake for some time. His arms curled protectively around her. His nose pressed against her throat. She was completely tangled up in him and didn't mind. She became aware of where one of those clawed hands was at. It rested on the soft swell of her inner thigh, if he moved a tiny bit they'd be right back where they started. It was a bold and possessive hold and she couldn't help herself, "Umm Inuyasha?" she asked, voice a sleepy whisper. He shifted beside her but the hand remained, "Hn." She peered at the top of his pale head, those ears drawing her attention and she slipped one hand to caress them.Inuyasha felt the soft touch on his ears, the way her fingers swept across the smooth fur, the pink skin. He growled softly, the soft rumbling almost akin to a purr. His hand tightened on her and she smiled. "Inuyasha what are you doing down there?" she asked at last. He closed his eyes, leaning into the feeling of her ministrations. "Touching." he said simply. Obviously in no mood to talk.Kagome blushed at the thought of last night and Inuyasha pressed his face closer to her inhaling deeply of that sweet scent that was coming from her. "Why?" she asked, biting her lip at the peaking of his growl. That hand moved up to boldly cup her, she arched into him. "Cause your mine." he said, leaning up at last to plant a slow, lazy kiss on her. Inuyasha stood up a moment later, leaving a blushing Kagome nestled in the sheets. "Come on wench, up." he announced, "We got lots to do today."Sesshoumaru fought her for an hour straight. He held back... somewhat. Sango dodged and swung and pivoted and he found himself, for just a moment forgetting the duties beyond those heavy doors. Sango fought with her whole heart, something that he had not seen often in opponents but enjoyed when he did. He should be sparRing with Inuyasha, however, he wasn't about to pull him from the miko's arms just yet.Sango was panting heavily when he called a halt to the battle play. "Well done Sango, my thanks for being a worthy adversary." he said stiffly. Sango stepped back, sheathing her sword. She watched as the demon adjusted his obi and set aside his training sword, for a moment she'd feared he'd draw Tokijin."Does he bother you overmuch?" he asked then, so casually that Sango answered. "He's a complete pain, lecher, always flirting... oh sorry." her lips pursed on her tirade, ending it effectively. The demon lord cast her a knowing glance and she reminded herself that this was not a friend, this was at best an uneasy ally."Shall I kill him for you?" he asked. She went pale at the obscene suggestion, "Granted," the lord went on,"It would be less for YOU and more for the sanity of my staff." Sango sucked in a whooshing breath. "No!" she cried out, emotion betraying her momentarily and the demon levelled her with a glare. "Woman, make up your mind. Do you love him or hate him?" he asked.Sango stepped back slowy as though on ice, "I... um.... I don't know." she admitted. The demon strode past her. He paused, large frame filling the doorway, "Well then I suggest you figure it out." he told her not mincing words, "Then, don't tell me, tell him. We are going to war. If you don't act you may lose your chance Slayer." Then he left her and she watched him go. Her eyes filling a moment at the images his words stirred. Gone, either of them, both of them, and things like this. Damn the demon for being so logically insightful. She wondered if perhaps he despised his own pain in this matter so much that he really did seek to erase it from others. Maybe he just thought it was amusing to play with humans and their variant emotions. After all demons DIDN'T have human feelings did they? If that was true, then Inuyasha's human blood was much stronger and his father's actions questionable.Ayeka recalled the journey through the mountains. Bitterly cold. She'd marched a small group of only fifteen men through the pass that winter. Sesshoumaru didn't count among that number because he was the lord. The horses stumbled often in the snow covered rocks. The wind whipped mercilessly and Ayeka vaguely wondered if she'd ever be warm again. She'd stood before Inutaisho and listened as he charged her with this duty. She'd volunteered to go, no one to blame but herself. She had a plan after all, not one that Sesshoumaru liked, but he'd yet to come up with a better one. They'd been moving through the mountains steadily upwards for several days. The snow storms were coming closer and the weather worsened.Last night she'd camped miserably, pressed against her horses legs in a effort to block the wind. It hadn't worked and she wondered as she slipped into light sleep, how many would die in the night. Sesshoumaru didn't seem to notice the cold at all. Bastard. The demon soldiers felt it less than her human men. She'd brought few humans because of this.In two days, they'd crest the mountain and descend into the land of the east. From there, the plan had no room for error. Sesshoumaru would not go into the cities with them, he'd block his scent. For he was easily known. She had never been seen outside of the west and so her identity was safe. A few of the human men would truss her up and take her to the tea house to be 'sold' as a new geisha. The lord they were targeting frequented it and was known to 'sample' new girls as they came. His tastes were hard on girls and there was always a need for fresh ones. Sesshoumaru had growled something fierce when she'd concocted the plan. That would put her alone with her target, but he was very strong and she was...well only human. "There will be nothing between you, you will have no weapon. They will search you." he reminded her. She held out her hand to him and he stared at it. On her small wrist was a silver bangle and he wondered where she'd gotten it. She'd never worn it before."Your father thought of that." she told him and slipped the bangle free. It unhinged and a thin bright wire extended from within it. Sesshoumaru touched a fingertip to it, it cut. His bright eyes moved back to her, "You mean to garrot him?" he asked then. She nodded. The demon looked doubtful, "Have you the strength to do so. When he is in danger he will transform, he'll become nearly as large as me and my father. You'll lose your chance." She frowned at him a moment. "He won't transform," she informed him, "He won't have the chance. I'll make sure of that."It was a calculated risk she took and he knew that she was leaving much to chance, but they had few options. Sesshoumaru would have been happy enough to walk into the tea house and strike him down with his poison whip. Assassinations were a dirty business but then, so was ruling. His path was that of supreme conquest and that meant engaging in such things once in while. He'd admitted such to her once.
