Chapter Six: A Wolf's Moon Love

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Kagome clutched Kouga's back, her eyes shut tight as the powerful wolf moved against the winds he generated himself. Kouga sighed happily at the feeling of Kagome's hands clutching his armor, her face buried in his skin as he ran. Maybe this would work out...if he gave her room for a few weeks; she might forget all about that inu and accept him as her mate, bear him pups and raise them...yea, they could do it and be happy.

The wolves chasing them had long ago dispersed, returning to the woodlands and the remains of the pack. Darkness passed over Kouga's features. How many of his wolves had died for this plot of Akumu's? How would he replenish his already dwindling numbers?

The trees were thinning, the clearing visible just beyond the treeline. The shrubbery was blow aside as his unnatural tornado tore through the undergrowth heading towards the place where he would make Kagome his.

No interruptions...

The way he wanted it...the way he would have it. There was no way in hell anyone had followed him, even if they found the path of destruction, he'd be long gone before they could happen upon him.

The mating ritual would be quick. He'd enter her, no holding back, release his seed, mark her, and be done with it. Quick and painless...at least for him. The swiftness of his entry might cause her some pain, especially without preparation, but that could come later when she would be more accepting.

He slowly allowed his hand to slide down the underside of her thigh, giving it a little squeeze. Kagome stiffened her breathing sharp.

"Kouga-kun, what are you doing?"

"Gomen, Kagome," he said softly, "I was just...trying to adjust your weight. My hand slipped."

Kagome stared at the back of Kouga's head, suspicion evident. Kouga was acting strange...he wasn't his confident, egocentric self. He seemed more submissive, beaten, as if everything had suddenly fallen apart for him. She looked up at Kouga's pace slowed, her dark eyes taking in the moonlit clearing before her. Dust whipped around their bodies as Kouga slid to a stop, crouching down to let Kagome off his back.

The young girl stepped further into the open grass, staring around. Kouga watched her hungrily, already loosening the ties to his armor. He slowly stripped off his chest plate, letting it fall to the ground carelessly.

Kagome jumped at the sound of metal hitting the ground, whirling around to face her opponent. She barely kept herself from releasing a loud sigh of relief...her breath catching instead. Kouga stood before her, now dressing in only his thin loincloth, his keen eyes traveling over her body like a ravished animal staring at a meal.

Kagome found herself wanting Inuyasha.

"K--Kouga-kun? Are you...alright?"

Kouga reached out a hand, grasping Kagome's arm possessively, "Kagome, please don't fight me...I'll be as gentle as I can."

"Excuse me??"

The wolf crushed her to his body, his tongue forcing her mouth open, hand gripping her arms in a death hold. Kagome screamed against his lips as he began to grind himself against her, stimulating his growing need through contact. He groaned in pleasure as a burning sensation traveled up to his stomach, festering there. He started to thrust against her dryly, grunting with each push, kindling the fire until it finally exploded.

"Kagome!" he snarled, throwing her to the ground. It was too much...his need was taking him over, blinding him...but he didn't want to fight it. No, he embraced the feeling that traveled through him, let it cushion him and lull him.

He held Kagome down with his body, eyes flashing with lust, tearing at her clothing, "Kagome...if you relax, everything will go quicker..." he ripped open her blouse, capturing a pink nipple between his lips, roughly drawing it into his mouth.

Kagome pushed against his unmoving body. Her nightmare...it was all coming back to her. Kouga was going to rape her, here and now...and there was nothing she could do about. She could feel his panting breath against her neck, his hands moving all over her stiff body, asking her, begging her for forgiveness for this sinful deed.

"Kagome...don't hate me for this...I have no choice...please don't hate me..."

How could I not? She thought bitterly, still trying to push him away. He was going to take her without her permission...just another bitch for him to fuck and claim as his own. She closed her eyes as her skirt came off, thrown somewhere into the dark. His hands traveled back up her stomach and Kagome found herself wishing she still had her bra. His hands gripped her breasts tightly, kneading them in his palms.

"Please, Kagome..." he panted, planting kisses on her mounds, "I'll be gentle...it won't hurt too much..."

The panties were now gone. Kagome was naked under Conga's hard, lust filled gaze. A tiny frown crossed his face as Kagome snapped her legs shut, preventing him from caressing her lower regions like he wanted. He glared at Kagome, trying to beat down her equally heated stare. Why wouldn't she cooperate? Didn't she understand that he was doing this for her own good? Kouga's temper had been running on a short fuse lately, and Kagome's blatant disobedience towards him set him off.

"You're my bitch now, Kagome," he snarled, roughly gripping her knees and jerking them apart. Kagome screamed in horror and pain as Kouga lifted his loincloth and rammed into her channel. He clamped down on her neck, not hard enough to break the skin, but strong enough so she wouldn't be able to move while he reached completion.

Kouga's shaft moved in and out of Kagome furiously, slamming to the hilt with each thrust, not caring that the girl was still dry and bleeding now. He held her arms down on the grass, his claws tearing the fragile skin beneath. He could feel Kagome still fighting against him, never trying to meet his thrusts with her own.

Then he'd take her from behind and force her to meet him...

Kouga pulled out, flipping Kagome onto her stomach and pinning her again as he resumed his frenzied mating. Kagome could clearly hear his grunts of pleasure as he ravished her body, licking down her spinal cord as he gripped her hips, roughly pulling her back on his shaft. His tongue left her back as he straightened, his head tilting back as he continued moving against her, calling her name.

He's going to release inside of me... Kagome thought in a panic. Her body that belonged only to Inuyasha was being stolen and used for another's sinful pleasures. Kouga...a youkai she once trusted was now raping her as if he might die at any times.

Kouga's thrusts were beginning to increase, his grunts and moans turning into one continuous growl. His claws dug into her skin causing welts of blood to surface and run. Kagome squeezed her eyes shut as the first of Kouga's seed began to drip into her body. This was it...

Suddenly there was a roar and Kouga was thrown away from her, replaced by a heavier creature. She was pushed to the ground carelessly; the sounds of a fight reaching her ears as she slowly lifted her head to look over her shoulder.

Kouga's neck was in the jaws of a monstrous black shadow, his tail between his legs as the beast shook him like a rag doll. Kouga howled in pain, trying his hardest to reach around and land a solid hit on his attacker, but the beast simply ignored his weak attempts at retaliation, instead spitting him out as if the wolf tasted bad.

Kagome's eyes grew wide with horror as the shadow stepped into the moonlight, "A-Akumu...."

The large wolf sneered at her, then down at the lesser beast pinned beneath his foot, "Kouga, you disobedient piece of shit...I told you to bring the girl back to the pack, not go off and run away with her."

Kouga gasped for air, "I wasn't...I wasn't running, Akumu...."

"Oh really? And what would you call it? The wolves I had trail you said you sped off faster than they could keep up, crossing streams to lose your scent. Sounds like running away to me."

"I had....to mate with Kagome," Kouga groaned, his fist weakly hitting Akumu's giant foot, "I need to mate with her and claim her as my own."

Akumu stared down at his thoughtfully before a cruel grin crossed his features, "She belongs to the pack leader, Kouga. It's my choice whether I will allow her to mate with others."

There was an ache in Kouga's manhood. He needed to release, and badly, "Please, Akumu..." he begged, trying to move his hands around to grip his shaft, "Just let me finish."

Akumu snorted, "You're so pathetic. Go relieve yourself in the woods while I finish with this young miko. I'll mark her as my own so that both she and the hanyou will suffer."

Akumu's dark eyes followed Kouga's slumped, retreating form as the wolf rushed into the surrounding woodlands to reach his completion with only the aid of his hands. Slowly, the massive wolf-youkai turned towards Kagome, his eyes shining with evil delight.

"You have no idea how I want to make you suffer, miko..." he growled, slowly moving towards her while shedding his own armor, "You'll pay for everything you've done to me..."

"Get away from me!" Kagome screamed, backing away from him. She wasn't about to be raped twice, especially not by Akumu. She scrambled to her feet, knees scraping against the ground as she frantically tried to get away. But Akumu was too quick for her, his hand lashing out and curling around her ankle.

Kagome fell to the ground, her jaw jarring as she hit solid earth. For a moment, her mind wandered to if this was what Inuyasha felt like after she sits him...dazing and in pain. Then she felt Akumu's claws digging into her skin, pulling her back towards him. His breath was hot on her neck as he slowly ran his tongue over her shivering backside, enjoying the salty taste of her skin. He began pressing into her from behind, clamping his teeth on her shoulder as he thrust inside.

Kagome groaned in suppressed pain as the large wolf began moving against her, her body turning numb with each push. She could barely form her lips to moan, her voice coming out in dry gasps. Her eyes were so dry, no tears could form from the pain of betrayal she felt. She couldn't move...only hear Akumu's throaty gasps and grunts as he used her body for his own sick pleasures.

"Kagome..." He chuckled, licking his lips, "You can't scream can you? My poisons will leave you immobile as I claim you for my own....but don't worry...they won't kill you...."

Kagome managed a small whimper of distress, her eyes squeezing shut as she tried to ignore Akumu's movements against her. The youkai planted his hands firmly on either side of Kagome, one coming up to curl around her waist and lift her dead weight from the ground.

"You'll mate with me every night..." Akumu promised with glee, "And you'll bare me pups and I'll use the hanyou for sport...hunt them down and kill them. I'll find a female, Kagome....you will care for her child and raise it as our son..."

No...Kagome thought, Please just let this be another horrible nightmare...let it end...or let me die...

Suddenly Akumu lurched forwards with a strained cry, his teeth piercing through the skin of her shoulder blade as he pumped his seed inside her, filling her until it began leaking out. The wolf supported his weight on shaking arms, trying to keep from collapsing on his newest sex toy.

"You'll be my slave and well as my mate, Kagome..." he grinned, "Be happy for I am sparing your life even after you tried to take mine away." He removed himself, slowly getting to his feet. "But your hanyou will not be so lucky. I know he will come for you, and when he does, the last thing that damn half-breed will see is the tip of Kakiken running through his weak body."

Kagome continued to lie on the ground, frozen in place and unable to protest. Akumu grinned down at her, bending to lick the puncture wounds on her shoulder. The woman flinched slightly, a mere shiver across her back. The wolf-youkai gently placed a hand between her shoulder blades, smiling softly.

"You'll rest with me from now on, and I'll use you whenever I want. You will obey my commands without questions or I won't hesitate to punish you. Your hanyou's fate is sealed, so there's no point in worrying over him. Soon, everything will be over."

He turned away, happy with the fortunes he's gained in this one night.

"Why..."

Akumu froze, his eyes growing wide with shock. How could she speak? The poison would consume her body for days. Slowly he turned back around, towering over the prone girl.

"Why what?"

Kagome lifted her head, "Why are you doing this?"

"Revenge is a hard thing to explain, Kagome," Akumu snarled, "But to put it simply, you made me suffer and I'm only returning the favor. The hanyou will be here soon, following your scent...but I would linger here, death will not claim him on this night. Kouga!!"

The hidden wolf sprang from the forest, instantly kneeling at Kagome's side. He never once looked at Akumu, instead caring for the subdued woman in front of him. Under normal circumstances, Akumu would have broken his arm for such a bold offense, but as it was, mating drained him of energy quickly. He was too weak to do anything, never mind fighting. That was why they had to leave. Should Inuyasha find him like this, he wouldn't hesitate to attack and Akumu would most certainly die.

Instead of attacking Kouga, Akumu turned and began walking away, his nose already in search of easy prey. "Take her back to the others, Kouga. Tell them their leader has found himself a mate."

Kouga winced at the words as he sought out his clothing and put it back on, lifting Kagome into his arms, "Then what? Aren't you returning with me?"

Akumu's step faltered, "N-No...return to your den immediately...I'll meet you there. I leave my mate's life in your hands. Should any harm come to her, you'll die instantly by my claw. Now go!"

Kouga watched as Akumu disappeared into the woods before cradling Kagome closer to him. "Gomen, Kagome...believe me, this is for the best. Although I wish it were me who'd marked you and not Akumu."

"How can this be for the best?" Kagome whimpered, tears finally falling, "You raped me, Kouga...and now I've been claimed by a creature who I hate with all my heart. Tell how this is good for me!"

"For one thing," Kouga said, turning towards his pack's scent, "You won't die."

********************************************************* ********************

Inuyasha pressed his nose to the ground, eagerly searching out the scent of Kagome and Kouga. He stood in the middle of the large clearing, his ears moving in all directions as he tried to lock a location with his nose. And his senses were telling him to worse. Akumu's vile smell was everywhere, almost over powering from the moment he stepping into the open grass. And what was with the mutilated and dry corpses of animals scattered everywhere? It was mostly harmless rodents and deer, but the body of an enormous youkai was also found.

"Inuyasha!" Miroku strode out of the surrounding woods, stopping behind the crouched hanyou, "Have you caught their scent yet?"

"It'd be difficult not to! That bastard Akumu's scent is all over the place!"

"So can you pin point his location?"

Inuyasha paused, his ears flattening against his head. He could follow Akumu's scent, but it would likely lead to a trap...besides, he didn't like the other smells he was picking up. The raw smell of mating. Something, or someone, had mated at this spot and had been claimed. The only problem was that the smells were of Kouga and Kagome.

Did that damn flee bag actually claim my Kagome? Inuyasha growled to himself possessively. If Kouga had the audacity to break a sacred youkai law, then Inuyasha would see to it that he suffered immensely.

The hanyou climbed to his feet, tilting his eyes towards the morning sun, "Has Sango returned yet?"

"No," Miroku replied, sitting on the soft ground, "She and Shippo are still out searching from the sky, and Kaede-sama is back at the village being tended to by the villagers." The monk glanced up at Inuyasha, "I hope we might return from this little adventure before the old miko expires."

"So do I."

There was a long pause between the two friends. They were both wondering the same thing: this was going to be more difficult than they thought. Already they had no fresh leads, and the worry over Kaede only added to the raising stress of the company. Miroku closed his eyes and leaned back, savoring the coldness of the grass and the warmth of the sun.

"What are you doing?"

"Resting." Miroku replied, never opening his eyes, "Sango might not be back for a while, so I might as well relax a bit."

He heard Inuyasha move beside him, his feet swishing in the grass. Inuyasha stood over the monk, his hands on his hips. "We don't have time to just lie around, Miroku. Kagome could be in danger right now."

Miroku frowned slightly, "Inuyasha, take my advice when I say that resting is the best thing your ignorant self can do for Kagome."

The hanyou bristled angrily, "I am not ignorant, Miroku."

"Then lie down and relax!" Miroku cracked an eye, "If we do find Akumu's trail, just how do you expect to win her back? Steal the poor girl away from a blood thirsty youkai and his pack? And do all of that without replishing your energy. Can you, Inuyasha? Or have you forgotten Akumu is a lot more powerful that we expected."

Inuyasha flopped to the grass, glaring down at Miroku, "Yea well, at least he's not as strong as Sesshomaru."

"And how would you know that?"

A grim smile crossed Inuyasha's features, "I don't...but it doesn't hurt to wish for something, right?"

Miroku remained silent soaking in the morning sunlight. He longed to remove his robes and simply lie in the grass all day, enjoying the peaceful day, but Inuyasha was there and Sango could emerge at any moment. His head began the throb at the thought of the exterminator's weapon connecting with his skull. There was a slight rustle of grass and Miroku cautiously turned his head. Inuyasha lay next to him, hands folded behind his head and staring up at the morning sky. He could tell the hanyou was worried, but it pleased his to see Inuyasha resting his tense body. It was good for him.

Right now everyone needed to relax and think. If they wanted Kagome back alive, they would need to think of a plan and not simply rush forward, swords swinging. He knew Inuyasha preferred that psychotic approach, but he valued his life.

"Miroku! Inuyasha!"

Inuyasha was instantly on his feet, staring at Sango as she landed on Kirara, "Sango, did you see any sign of Kagome or Kouga?"

Sango leapt off of Kirara's back, "I didn't see the pack, but they left an obvious trail behind them." She reached into her pouch and removed a dead rabbit. "I found the bodies of dead animals everywhere, even a few wolves."

Miroku carefully examined the corpse in Sango's grip, "It's dry as a bone...absolutely no blood at all!"

"I know. Every creature I came across was the same way. Something sucked every last drop of blood from their bodies."

Inuyasha sniffed the rabbit, "This thing smells like Akumu."

Miroku looked up in shock, "You mean to tell me that giant wolf sucked the life from these beasts? The same with the dead youkai we found around here?"

"Yea," Inuyasha said grimly, "And how much you wanna bet he's drinking the blood of his own wolves."

Sango looked between the two concerned men, "Then we have to go and find Kagome, fast! If Akumu's killing off his own wolves, why would he hesitate to kill Kagome?"

"Sango's right, Inuyasha," Shippo agreed, leaping onto the hanyou's stiff shoulder, "Your nose is strong enough to follow the trail they left behind. Maybe it will lead us to Kagome."

Inuyasha rubbed the back of his neck. The stress of the situation was almost overwhelming, but his duty was obvious. Kagome came first over everything. It was either her or nothing. Inuyasha turned, feeling the kitsune's grip tighten.

"You will find her, right?"

Inuyasha risked reaching up and gently touching Shippo's head. The kit needed as much reassurance as anyone else, if not more so. He'd gladly give it to him whenever he could.

********************************************************* ********************

Akumu crouched at the entrance of the tiny cave, struggling to ignore the powerful and tempting smells from inside. A wolf had injured itself today crossing the river and the smell of his injury as so attracting...Akumu could almost taste his sweet soul on his lips. But Kouga had remained at the wolf's side, preventing Akumu from taking away his prize and quenching his need.

He inhaled deeply, enjoying the smell of a crisp dawn. He might be a vicious monster, but even monsters enjoy some aspects of life. Why else would he have fought so hard to return amongst the living? He'd come back to enjoy what had been taken from him before his time was up, and by Kami he would!

There was just one problem...

Akumu's hair stood on edge as he glared over his shoulder at the injured creature. It was so close...he could reach out an touch it with the tips of his fingers...but so long as Kouga stood next to the poor beast, he could do nothing. Damn him. Damn that wolf and everything he stood for!! Just the very sight of Kouga sent him into a rage.

He needed a walk.

"Kouga!" he snarled over his shoulder. Instantly the wolf leader was at his side.

"What?"

"Watch over the pack and Kagome. I'm leaving."

Kouga frowned, "Where are you going?"

"It's none of your business where your leader goes, Kouga. Do as you're ordered."

Without another word, Akumu pushed the flustered Kouga aside, bounding off into the woods. Kouga stared after his departing form for a moment before frowning in anger.

"Fucking monster."

********************************************************* ********************

A white baboon looked up from his perch on the high tree limb, his deep black eyes narrowing as heavy tremors shook the forest floor. He stood, watching as plumes of dust rose up over the tree tops with each earthquake. A large poison bee fluttered next to him, its wings pounding the air rapidly as it spoke to Naraku. The evil youkai waving the annoying creature away, a grin on his face.

"Ah, so Akumu has finally returned to the forests...I never imagined he'd escape from the gates of hell so quickly."

He jumped down from the boughs, landing lightly on the ground below, "You never should have returned from hell, Akumu...not so quickly at least. Akumu...how did you escape?"

"You!!"

Naraku whirled around, leaping back from Akumu, narrowly dodging the blades of Kakiken. Akumu snarled down at the baboon, his red eyes narrowed in fury, "You bastard youkai...I never thought I'd see your scaly hide again!"

"So you remember me, Akumu," Naraku replied, "I'm honored."

"How could I forget the creature that killed me? You sent me to Hell, Naraku!"

Naraku shook his head, "You are mistaken, Akumu...I did not send you to Hell...that was of your own doing. The evils of your past life sent you to the deepest pit of Hell, and now you're stuck in limbo. A wandering sack of bones, surviving off of the discarded souls of those you've killed."

"Shut up!" Akumu snapped, swinging at the baboon again, "You traitor, how dare you speak this Akumu like that!"

"You're after revenge against, Inuyasha are you not?"

Akumu faltered in his charge, staring at Naraku, "You know Inuyasha?"

"You could say that."

"My revenge is already in motion, Naraku. A bold plan unbreakable by anything that hanyou can do."

"You took his woman."

"I'll take more than that!" Akumu boasted proudly, "That nasty half-breed tried to rob me of my life, and so it's only fair I return the favor in full!"

"Of course. And I have something that might help you."

Naraku nodded, holding out an open fist. Akumu stared down at the tiny gem nestled in the outstretched hand of the white baboon. He cautiously reached towards him, his fingertips itching to hold the beautiful jewel in his hands.

"You have fragments of the Shikon Jewel?" he questioned, unable to tear his gaze away.

"I have many pieces. Some of which I'm willing to give to you, my friend."

Akumu's eyes hardened and he glared at the malicious youkai, "You're no friend of mine, Naraku...I could easily take these shards and slay you."

Naraku chuckled, "You've been locked away in Hell too long, Akumu. Things have changed. I'm not the helpless charred human you remember...the day I sent you to Hell was the day I discovered my true potential. I was made to rule...however, I'll need help to obtain that control."

The giant wolf gently accepted the tiny fragment from Naraku's hand, "So you want me to help you with whatever goal you're trying to reach."

"Exactly. Help me and I'll help you with your revenge. Fair trade, don't you agree."

Akumu stared at Naraku, "What can you do to help me? I've already mated and marked his woman, so she is mine now. And I'll kill him once he comes for her, so your assistance isn't needed."

Naraku chuckled harshly, "You're a fool, Akumu. Inuyasha is much stronger than you take him for. Didn't he nearly kill you already? What's to say that won't happen again?"

"I'm to say." The wolf-youkai growled at Naraku. "When he defeated me, it was by a fluke. I was in need of souls at the time. This time, I'll be fully replenished and waiting for him."

"So that's why you're constantly feeding on the lives of your pack." Naraku motioned towards the shard, "With that you'll never have to worry about feasting on innocent souls again."

Akumu's hand closed around the Shikon fragment, "What's the catch, Naraku? You were never one to willingly give up something without a price behind it."

"Oh it's quite simple," Naraku replied, "With Inuyasha out of the way I'll be able to complete the Shikon no Tama and rule over both demons and humans. All that I require from you is your assurance that you will find Inuyasha."

"I can promise you that the hanyou will die at my hands, Naraku. Kakiken thirsts for the blood of Inuyasha...he'll feast on the hanyou's body and tear him limb from limb!"

Naraku shook his head, "Calm yourself, Akumu, the task is not so easy. Killing Inuyasha would bring me great satisfaction, but I too wish to see him suffer. I don't care how you do it, but I want Inuyasha delivered to me alive."

"Alive?"

"I can remove Inuyasha's threat to me if I have him under my control." Naraku handed Akumu a tiny pouch, "Within this is another Shikon fragment, one that you must not use. You are to implant this into Inuyasha's body and then bring him to me."

"What's it do?" the wolf asked, staring at the miniscule pouch, "Won't a Shikon fragment increase his powers?"

"Not this one. The fragment within has been tainted with my poisons...it will slowly take over his body, driving him insane, casting him against his comrades. His youkai blood will become unstable, too much for even Kagome to control." Naraku stared into Akumu's eyes, "Once his demon blood takes over, he'll be completely under my power...no thought, no movement shall be allowed unless I grant it to him. I'll use the hanyou and his Tessaiga to wreak havoc on every village in Japan until there is no one to oppose me."

Akumu slowly backed away, "And just how do you expect me to put the fragment inside of him? The damn half-breed certainly won't let me walk up to him and place it."

Naraku sneered, turning away, "I don't care how you do it, just make sure it gets done. Bring Inuyasha to me successfully and the Shikon fragment is yours...fail...well if you fail then that means the hanyou has killed you."

Akumu snorted, "Don't be foolish. I'll finish this up quickly...but Naraku, you must let me do one thing before I hand him over."

The evil youkai paused, turning to face the sneering wolf, "What?"

Akumu flexed his claws, moving closer until he was towering over Naraku, this hot breath rolling over the baboon covered youkai. His grin grew as he slowly brought his face closer, a whisper full of evil and promise falling from his lips.

"I want Inuyasha to watch as I slice his woman open and drink her blood...I want Inuyasha to watch her die."

I'm getting' nervous...is my fanfic getting cliché? If it is, please tell me because that's the last thing that I want. I know the introduction of Naraku puts in a new twist, but was it really expected by all of you?? Please tell me it wasn't!! Oh Kami!! What have I done?!? *sniff*, well at least R&R for me, 'k?
