After the Battle

Chapter 1

~ Confessions and New Experiences ~

Inuyasha, that one name brought back so many memories to haunt Kagome Higurashi. Not familiar with modern technology, Inuyasha made it his business to seek and destroy anything that would hurt his Kagome. Their worlds are totally different, Kagome Higurashi, now 18 years of age, made it very obvious to tell Inuyasha that she was now an attractive lady. She would wear skirts shorter than her usual uniform that she would wear. Inuyasha, a half-demon, also known as a hanyou lived in the time frame of the Feudal Era. Who knew how old Inuyasha was, for he didn't tell you a damn thing. Kagome's shrine house had a well, and that was the connection between her time and the Feudal Era.

According to Kagome's time they have spent three years finding the fragments that when joined together would create the Shikon-No-Tama. Inuyasha and the gang gathered half of the jewel, and all they had do now was wait for Naraku. Naraku was no ordinary half-demon; He was originally a human who named himself Onigumo. He was badly injured when a priestess by the name of Kikyo took him to a cave and tended to his wounds. To Onigumo's demise, he allowed several demons to feed off his body so he could become a demon, (but as all of you know, Naraku is a half-demon and yea he's a little weird.) Naraku was demon that burdened a lot of people. Miroku, a monk, was cursed with a wind-tunnel in his right hand. Sango, another member of the gang is a youkai exterminator. Her village was tricked into going to another village to be succumbed to Naraku's plan to kill them all. Sango was the only one to survive.. Well her brother Kohaku was alive for a period of time before he was taken under Naraku's curse to help him kill off Kohaku's sister.

Time Warp to Feudal Japan

“Get back wench, how many times do I have to tell you?!” Inuyasha screamed to her. When they started fighting Naraku had already created so many entry wounds on Inuyasha's body. He never paid any heed to the damage that happened to him.

“Inuyasha!!!” Kagome yelled. She already had an arrow strung against her bow, aiming it straight for Naraku's chest. She released the arrow and it landed right where it was planned to hit. She quickly jumped off of the rock that she was standing on and hid behind it. When Inuyasha looked up he saw the arrow, he jumped over to where Kagome hid. He spotted Miroku and Sango hiding behind a huge tree. Glad that he left the runt with Kaede, he huddled with Kagome to the ground.

“Wench, why did you do that? That battle was between me and Naraku; you had no right to… I wanted to kill… Kagome?” Inuyasha looked down at Kagome and was shocked to see she had the entire jewel in tact with the other half. What he didn't notice was Kagome's eyes closing, her hand out stretched to his hand as if she was giving him the jewel. In that instant he didn't want to become a full demon all he wanted to hear was Kagome laughing again, he wanted her to `Sit' him, he wanted everything except to see her die. He closed his eyes and wished for the only thing he had in his mind. When he opened his eyes the jewel was gone and you could see his stupid smirk when he got his way, he leaned down to where Kagome was and placed a chaste kiss on her lips. He was so glad that the battle was over, one thing however wasn't. That person wasn't on his mind at all. Miroku and Sango made their way over to where Kagome and Inuyasha was, forcing him to separate from Kagome.

“We beat him Inuyasha! Oh my god, Kagome!” Sango rushed over to where Kagome lied on her back. She cradled her, trying to force back her own tears.

Kagome slowly opened her eyes to find Sango and Miroku crying over her. “Guys why are you crying? I'm alright.” As soon as she made that statement she was crushed by her friend's giving her a group hug excluding Inuyasha. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught sight of Kikyo's Shinidamachu. She tried to place Inuyasha but he wasn't there. `Figures he would go after her. What did I expect to stay here with him forever' Kagome thought.

Kagome took an intake of breath, it felt like her body was going to explode, for a minute all her senses went into hyper drive. Smelling was heightened and so was her hearing. She could hear almost everything including ants walking on the earth floor. When that minute was over she felt weird. As if she was somebody else but she still had her body and nothing was different.

Inuyasha saw Kikyo's Shinidamachu in the forest, `Shit, I don't want to go to hell with Kikyo, I said I would avenge her death right, well didn't I?' went through his head. Inuyasha was about to go further into the forest to make amends with Kikyo when he heard Kagome scream. He turned around and sprinted towards her scent. When he got there Kagome was on the ground surrounded by Sango and Miroku trying to wake her up. Inuyasha pushed his way past the two and picked up the sleeping girl.

“I'm taking her to Goshinboku she'll be alright.” Inuyasha leapt away from Sango and Miroku's screams telling that wouldn't be a good idea. He didn't pay attention. He made his way to his branch. He placed Kagome in his lap. He took off his Koromo and covered Kagome with it. He began to get content when Kagome started thrashing in his lap. He tried to contain her and himself from falling off of the tree. He only succeeded in getting her to calm down and that caused him to blush. He looked down to where her hand was lying. He moved her hand to around his waist but it traveled back down to where it had been a few seconds ago. He grabbed her arms and put them to one side of his waist. He covered her hands with his. `This is gonna be a long night.'

That next morning, Kagome woke up to the sound of a soothing growl that was coming from Inuyasha. She looked up to him and was starting to wonder who he would choose. No sooner, Inuyasha felt her stare on him. He opened one eye and muttered, “Good morning.” Inuyasha gathered his robe from Kagome and covered both him and her with it.

“Inuyasha how's Kikyo?” Kagome stated bluntly pointing out to Inuyasha that she knew that he went to see her. She tried to catch Inuyasha's line of vision, so she grabbed his sideburns with her hands and forced him to look her in the eyes.

“Inuyasha, you're gonna have to make a choice. You know I'm not gonna be here forever. You have to give me a reason to stay here. I love you. There I've said it. Now it's your turn. If you can't then bye because I'll go home.” Kagome looked at Inuyasha the entire time she told him her decision.

Inuyasha stared at Kagome for some odd seconds for when he came back to reality; Kagome was already climbing her way down the tree. He caught Kagome and landed in front of the tree. His robe dangling from Kagome's shoulders.

“Kagome, you know... Well. I… I really do love you but, I promised I'd go to hell with Kikyo its only fair, I mean she died for me….” Inuyasha didn't get to finish because Kagome interjected.

“I died for you too, can't you see that. Isn't it enough that you avenged her death by killing him? I mean come on, are you gonna be happy going to hell with Kikyo or would be willing to have a happy ending here with me, I am willing to give up my world for you Inuyasha. I love you, I love you. How many times do I have to say it to get it through your thick skull?” Kagome retorted, getting angrier by the minute. She stormed toward Kaede's village. Inuyasha wasn't sure what to do, should he follow her to try and make her understand or let her calm herself down. The second one sounded good but he actually knew what he to do this time. He skyrocketed over to Kaede's hut and entered through the entrance.

“Where'd Kagome go?” Inuyasha looked around the hut and to his eyes Kagome's stuff was missing. She was going to run. He didn't like the way she was escaping from him. He raced to the Bone-Eater's Well and was about to jump in when he heard Kagome approach him.

“It won't work; I already tried and got hurt in the process. You can try if you want to though.” Kagome, smirking to herself, sat down in the grass watching Inuyasha crossing over to her. She let him get close enough to sit next to her but if he was going to do something crazy he's gonna get it.

“Kagome, I'm sorry. I, You know how Kikyo is though….” He didn't get to finish the sentence because he smelt the salt of her tears coming off in heaps. “Please don't cry. I'm sorry I mentioned her name. It's just you can do better than me, I'm nothing. Sesshomaru always told me I was nothing special and that I was.. I mean I am a nobody.” Inuyasha looked down at the ground as he made the last statement.
“Inuyasha, don't you get, you're everything. You're more than a human because you live longer and can defend yourself. You're more than a demon because you have feelings that demons don't have and that gives you more power than you can imagine. You just have to believe you are somebody, you're Inuyasha. You'll always have somebody and I would like to be that somebody.” Inuyasha looked at Kagome as if he was seeing her in a different light.

“Do you remember when I could feel you and talk to you through the God tree. When Kikyo pushed me through the well I thought I never would've seen you again, but you were there to help me through so I could come back to you? I will always remember that day because then I recognized my own feelings for you that and that first night you turned human, you said that my hair smelled nice.” Kagome chuckled as in her memory images came to mind when she was talking.

“I think I recognized my feelings for you when Kaguya started to change myself into my demon side and you broke from the pentagram and ran over to me and kissed me to stop me from changing. I'm sorry if I hurt you then,” Inuyasha looked at Kagome concerned. “I never meant to hurt you in any way, I guess I really screwed up didn't I?”

“Actually I think that you did perfectly well except for the whole Urasue thing when she took part of my soul to bring back Kikyo, I was pissed then. (He He He) Umm. Inuyasha I have a question for you?”

“Huh?”

“Who did you choose?”

“I think I chose you.” Inuyasha leaned over Kagome and was about to kiss her when he finally took in his surroundings.

“Damn, Monk you are so dead.” Inuyasha sprinted over to where the Monk and Sango were hiding.

“Fuck, I'd expect this from the lecher but you surprise me Sango, I never thought you'd stoop this low.”

“I'd be careful what you're gonna say around me or else you'll get this Hiraikotsu up your…” Miroku interceded this sentence.

“Sango, love. I don't think that be good for that would ruin his chances at….”

“Monk, I wouldn't finish that sentence if I were you.”

“Well I think if you guys are done here, Kaede said that she needed to talk to you guys before you go somewhere else.” Sango stepped aside so Inuyasha and Kagome could pass. When she turned around Miroku was grinning sheepishly. She thought she knew what would be coming but instead Miroku's arm slinked around Sango's shoulders forcing her to come closer to the one she truly did like... The only reason why she wouldn't want anything to further their relationship was because he was a pervert and always asking women to bear his children.

“Sango, dear. You've been staring at me for the past 15 minutes are you alright?” Miroku turned slightly away from Sango's view and grinned mischievously. His arm lowered on her back.

“Hentai! Pervert!” Sango screamed, while in her mind she had the monk pinned down on the ground doing something absolutely unexpected from her. She slapped him giving him the red mark that he carried with pride almost like that was her mark that had showed the other ladies on the road that he belonged to her.

“My, My. Aren't we a little feisty? Why don't we really do something worth a smack?” Miroku grabbed Sango and pulled her down to the ground with him on top. He started leaning down when she tried sitting up when their lips met. Sango blushed to a beet color, while Miroku was surprised; he turned his head to the side to see if she would allow him access. Again to his surprise she accepted the fate of her and let him enter. (Now don't go getting the wrong idea people, I'm not the kind of author... Okay maybe I am.) They were like that for the next few minutes, when Inuyasha came outside, he turned his back immediately.

“Okay people you do know you are out in the open?” Inuyasha said sarcastically. He enjoyed tormenting the monk especially when the exterminator was involved.

They pulled away from each other with hesitation. They weren't sure what was gonna happen to them because the half-demon himself found them like that. Sango blushed again, making Miroku grin again.

“Whatever! Kagome wanted me to tell you guys' dinner is almost done.” Inuyasha stalked back into the hut laughing his head off.

“What are you laughing about Inuyasha?” Kagome asked curiously, wondering what made him happy, well, more like what made him go off.

“What until you see that monk and Sango walk in then you'll know Kagome.” Inuyasha walked over to his corner of the hut leaning up against his Tetsusaiga. Kagome walked over to him, trying to pin-point what happened between her best friend and that perverted monk.

“Inuyasha….” Kagome started to whisper. “What exactly did happen when you went out there?” She really was interested.

“Well, key is I think their gonna get married sooner than I thought. Well I didn't think they'd get married at all. I saw them kissing in the grass outside when you told me to tell them that dinner was almost done.” Kagome started giggling when she heard that information. She couldn't believe it, Sango was kissing Miroku, and now all that was missing was for that somebody to make a move.

Inuyasha woke to Kagome thrashing in her sleep, Shippo wasn't sleeping next to her so Inuyasha crept closer to her to try and comfort the girl.

“Inuyasha…. Don't… please don't!” Inuyasha was wondering what Kagome was having a nightmare about. Should he hold her... Did he want to take the initiative to start something with Kagome when Kikyo still walked on the earth as a clay doll with not even half a soul to keep her tied to the earth. A soul, Kagome's soul, the one Urasue made.

He collected her in his arms and pulled her across his lap, he started to growl low in his throat, he only did this for Kagome. Kagome slowed her breathing was in a deep slumber where nobody would hurt her because she was Inuyasha's arms. Kagome pulled herself from her slumber to see Inuyasha staring down at her. She didn't want to lose this moment when she would be able to do what she wanted. Kagome pulled herself up to meet Inuyasha's eyes watching her like a hawk. She leaned in to close the distance between Inuyasha and herself. Her lips were a whisper away when Inuyasha pulled her against his robe. Fervently, Inuyasha added pressure to her bottom lip and asked for permission, and willingly Kagome opened beneath him.

Kagome woke up to the feeling of being purified from her experience the night before. What happened between Inuyasha and herself would stay that way until Inuyasha wanted to tell the others which would probably result in a hell no.

Author's note: Okay, if you all want me to continue I would like review because I can't read your minds…even though I would love that superpower. Well whatever, if I don't get reviews I think I'm gonna stop… I don't kno yet though until u keep me posted if you like it or not..
O yeah and I need to kno if u guys have any ideas I love them… Thank u my pal from online. I owed u a Miroku one.
