Chapter 1
Oh God...why did I buy this?Kagome sighed as she walked through the streets of Tokyo to get back to her shrine. She had just been with her friends, Yuki, Ayami and Eri and boy was it tiring having to put up with their questions of Kagome’s ‘boyfriend’. Kagome had recently brought an old book that had stories of demons, mages and angels etc. Funny enough it also contained information about priests, priestess, Sorcerers, warriors, barbarians, undead and other magical (or dead) beings.
Usually Kagome wouldn’t buy these sort of things but something about that book caught her eye and suddenly she had the urge to buy it.
It wasn’t that expensive either, it was only £4.99, but you would think it would be. Some old things can be expensive.
Kagome at last finally reached the stairs of the shrine. She has quite a beautiful face, cute stormy grey eyes, raven black hair that seems to have a dusky blue shine to it in the sun and grew past her shoulder blades. She had a nice body, perfect curves all over.
Kagome never saw herself as beautiful or attractive. In fact she doesn’t think about it much at all.
But she does have a secret. Right at the edge of the shrine is an old well house that holds the legendary bone eaters well. It was used to discard the bones of youkai or demons. But Kagome can use the well to travel back and forth 500 years, to feudal Japan.
But Kagome wasn’t going there today. At least not yet. She entered her home and took of her shoes.
“I’m home!”
“Kagome, had a nice time?” answered her mother. Her mother was a pretty woman with short hair and pale skin, unlike Kagome, whose skin was a bit more fair then her mothers.
“It was ok...but I didn’t know I long I can put up with their questions though” she sighed. Her mother just smiled.
“He he...I can understand....anyway dinner will be ready in an hour, ok Honey?” she was about to return to the kitchen when she noticed the bag in Kagome’s arms.
“What’d you buy?”
“Oh this? Its erm... just a book I thought I might be interested in reading. I don’t know, it just caught my attention”. Kagome smiled at her mother as her smile was returned.
“Ok dear... but remember not to spend too much”
“Don’t worry mum, it wasn’t that expensive”
With that Kagome returned to her room. It was a school holiday so she was free from studying. Before she decided to look at her book, she thought she might as well change into more indoor clothes.
She turned on her CD player with the song ‘Passion’ sung by Utada Hikaru. She loved the song a lot.
While singing at the same time, Kagome dress in a light blue t-shirt and a dark bluish-black skirt that came just above her knees. She was so entranced in singing she didn’t realise how loud the music was until...
“Sis! Turn it down!” her younger brother shouted from his room. That snapped Kagome back to reality and immediately turned the music down.
“Sorry Souta!”
Her attention was brought back to the bag on her bed. She turned the CD player off and took the tattered old book out of the bag. It wasn’t an ugly book really despite the rips on the spine. Most of the font and borders were in gold and on the middle of the front was a purple jewel, obviously it was fake.
Kagome opened the book and looked at the contents. The pages showed signs of old age as well: mostly brown and small rips at the edges of the paper.
She decided to read the first chapter which said ‘The birth of Terror, Hatred and destruction’
Ok...now I know I shouldn’t have brought this....
Kagome sighed but decided to read on, after all a bit of reading can kill some time.
A war between Heaven and Hell started in a town.
The town of Tristrim was once a peaceful trading town that housed a young witch. But the witch made a prophecy of an incoming invasion of demons that would come from not from the outskirts of Tristrim, but from the church catacombs, and dungeons.
The lord of Terror is one of the three ‘Legionionic denons’ of Hell, and the strongest of the brothers and demonkin, was captured by the mortal magi known as the Highjayi.
The Highjayi imprisoned the demon’s souls using soul stones and bound them to barriered tombs or temples.
Terror’s stone was buried beneath the town of Tristrim in ancient caverns and as the generations passed, has been forgotten.
His imprisonment was meant to be eternal but the power of the soulstone was-
“Kagome! You here?”
Kagome was jolted from reading and quickly shut the book and hid it underneath her pillow as red and silver colours appeared at the window.
“Jeez InuYasha, you scared the life out of me” Kagome opened the window as InuYasha jumped through. Usually he would open the window of course, but this time Kagome had locked it.
InuYasha has a handsome face. His eyes were a beautiful colour, a cross between amber and gold and his pupils were slits but not very thin. His hair is moonlit silver that grows all the way past his waist and instead of normal human ears; InuYasha has two dog-like eyes nested at the top of his head.
Of course InuYasha was not a human. He is a hanyou.
“Hey I thought you were studying?”
“Well it turned out to be a school holiday so I’m free for studying for two weeks”
The hanyou looked confused. “Huh? Well what were you doing?”
“I went into the city with my friends. I’m going back over tomorrow though, even though I don’t see why since Naraku is dead apart from seeing the others back there ...as well as you”
She whispered the last part but InuYasha heard it, but he just shrugged it off.
“Keh. Whatever”. He notes the bag on her bed.
“Did you get anything?” he asked with interest.
“Eh? Oh yeah that...well....”
Kagome didn’t exactly want to say to him she brought a book that contained information about a Demon lord and Wizards as well as soul stones. For some reason, the word soul stone reminds her of the Jewel of four souls she was successfully able purify out of existence two months ago.
But Kagome trusted InuYasha with her life. Why was she so worked up about a book that she brought?
“It was just a book I found interesting. Nothing special”
“Okay”
“Kagome! Is InuYasha here? I heard something outside” her mother called.
“Yes he’s here”
“Ask him if he wants to stay for dinner”
Kagome gave him a questioning look and he nodded.
“Yeah he says it’s ok”
“As long as it isn’t that spicy food”
Kagome just giggled and decided to show InuYasha the book she brought.
“On my way home this book caught my eye and for some reason I had to get it. Here have a look”
She took the book from under the pillow and handed it to InuYasha. He looked at her with a puzzled face.
“Why’d did you hide it under your pillow”
Kagome tensed before saying “I...err...put my books under my pillow sometimes when I read. An old habit when I read at night”
InuYasha sat on her bed and looked at the front cover.
“The world of Alirah”
Kagome gave a small gasp. InuYasha looked up at her.
“What?”
“Nothing...I just didn’t know you could read”
He snorted. “My mother taught me to read and write. I just don’t use the skills much”
“Come on everyone, it’s on the table”
Kagome gave a smile at him before saying “Let’s go. I don’t know about you but I’m starving”
“Keh”
As they left her room, InuYasha was deep in thought.
Alirah? Where have I heard that?
