InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Alirah ❯ Back in time... ( Chapter 2 )
[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
Disclaimer: InuYasha belongs to Rumiko, Diablo belongs to Blizzard.
InuYasha has also taken an interest in the book. 1 is that he has heard the name Alirah before, he believes in his childhood, 2. He wondered what could have interested Kagome to buy it.
After climbing out of the old well, the two walked through the forest, past the ancient Time Tree Goshinboku, where InuYasha was sealed for fifty Years by Kagome’s previous incarnation, Kikyo, and his first love.
However, it was also the place where InuYasha and Kagome first met, as well as Kagome freeing him. Though they never told each other, both found those memories precious.
At last Kaede’s village came in sight. Kaede was the old village priestess, and is also the younger sister of Kikyo. Kagome has learnt about herbs and knowledge for spiritual power from her and sees her as a grandmother.
InuYasha on the other hand, although he has respect of her knowledge, but he doesn’t respect elders. He still calls her babaa (which can mean old hag but anyway not a nice word).
“Kagome!”
On orange fur ball appeared out of nowhere and jumped into Kagome’s arms.
“Shippo! How’ve you been?” Kagome said, smiling at the young kitsune.
Shippo raised his head to look at her.”Bored. Did you get-“
“Yes Shippo I did. But you shouldn’t eat too much of it”
They arrived at Kaede’s hut with the rest of the group waiting for them.
Mirkou, Sango, and Kaede were standing outside the hut, waving at them.
“Kagome! You’re back!” called Sango. Kagome smiled and waved back.
“Hi Kagome. Made any progress with your studies?”
“Nah I have two weeks free from studying” she replied as they entered the hut.
“Hello child. Ye doing well?” asked the elderly Kaede.
While Kagome talked with the rest of the group, she gave out everyone’s favourite food from her world and they dug in for lunch.
---------------------------------Later that evening----------------------------------------------------------
InuYasha’s senses suddenly went alert as his hearing range heard something west of the forest. It sounded strange, like wind and some other sound that reminded him of demonic magic. He sat on the fence trying to suss out what the sound was as it faded.
What was that? It didn’t sound normal or friendly to me
“InuYasha”
He was brought out of his thoughts as Kagome approached him.
“What you doing?” innocently asking.
“Nothing”
Kagome eyed him before saying “Did you feel something?”
InuYasha looked at her before replying.
“I heard something out in the forest but I couldn’t pick out a scent or feel a demonic aura”.
Kagome looked calm. When they battled against Naraku, Kagome’s power was what finished him off. Her powers have all the more increased once her seal was broken from Magatsuhi: the dark will of the Shikon Jewel. She is able to sense demons further then Mirkou or any of the group can. She unknowingly has surprised InuYasha as her strength increased before the final battle.
“It’s properly just a demon passing through. Do you hear anything now?”
“Nope...nothing”
Kagome gave him a small smile that always left him with warmth inside.
“Come on lets go back”
But InuYasha wanted to make sure that whatever he heard was really gone
“No...I’ll stay here for little longer...just to make sure that whatever I heard is really gone”
Kagome nodded.
“Well I’m going back in the hut. I’ll see you there”
She walked back to the hut while InuYasha continued to be on lookout. But as Kagome walked, a slight disappointment fell on her. There was something else she wanted to say to him but she couldn’t bring herself to say it. Kagome sighed as she made her way to the hut.
What she saw though shocked her (not the best way to put it but something not very expecting though to her at the present time). As soon as she entered, she came across Sango and Mirkou lightly kissing, but not deeply. Sango felt someone was watching her and gasped when she saw Kagome.
Mirkou turned his head to face Kagome.
“Kagome!”
Kagome was blushing furiously and her bashfulness got to her.
“Gomen nasi! I-I-I didn’t mean to...I’ll be going now!” She turned to leave but Sango’s voice stopped her.
“Nah Kagome don’t. We weren’t going to continue anyway...right Mirkou” she gave him a hard stare, but a light blush stained her cheeks.
Mirkou silently sighed but agreed.
“Yes of course”. Kagome looked at them,
I know they want to continue, i can see it in their eyes. I feel so bad now for interrupting them
Kagome went over to her over sized yellow backpack and searched for the book. She wanted to read the rest of the first chapter.
Mirkou noticed the book and looked at the title. ‘The world of Alirah’.
Alirah...that sounds strangely familiar
“Is that a new book Kagome?” Sango asked with interest.
“Yeah. For some reason I had the urge to buy it when I saw it in the old bookshop”.
“Kagome, may I have a look at it please?” Mirkou asked.
“Sure” she handed the book to him. Mirkou studied it carefully and scanned through the book until he came across the page of the ‘Legend’.
“Ah...that’s why it sounds familiar”
The girls eyed him with curiosity.
“What is?”
“Alirah. I wondered why it sounded familiar. In an ancient legend that I read when I was a child, there was a tale of a world known as Alirah that was filled with magical beings and was also one of the many gateways to the crossroads of the afterlife, but that’s all I know”.
“Same for me too”
InuYasha came out of nowhere as he listened to the legend. They all stared at him.
“You know the legend too InuYasha?” Kagome asked.
“Yeah but it took me awhile to remember it. From what I was told though, it was said Hell’s strongest foes came through the gateway’s of Hell there”.
They all heard a gulp from Shippo who didn’t seem to like what he was hearing. Well they all didn’t really.
Mirkou handed the book back to Kagome. “Why did you buy that book Kagome?” Shippo asked. InuYasha wanted to know the same thing also.
“I don’t know. It caught my eye and I just had to buy it”
They all seemed to buy it, but InuYasha didn’t.
-------------------------------------------Late at night------------------------------------------------------
While the fire was still alight, Kagome took the book out again and began reading from where she left off.
His imprisonment was meant to be eternal but over the generations, his soulstone weakened which eventually allowed the burning Terror to use a limited amount of his power from within the stone. He telepathically called on the Archbishop, Lachian as his puppet. For Terror to leave his soulstone, he needs a strong host. Through Lachian, he tried to gain control of King Haden, but his power was weakened inside the stone, and could not gain power over the King. Instead he had Lachian kidnap the King’s son, Prince Harris. Using his terror as his weapon, he inspired the child with such terror that the boundaries of the living and dead realms became unbalanced and parts of Hell appeared beneath the labyrinth of the Tristrim. With the power and host he needed, Terror waited for the right moment to strike.
King Haden went into madness after the loss of his son. With Lachian whispering in his ear, Haden ordered such a fool-hardy invasion of a much more powerful neighbouring realm. Lachian made sure to send the King’s most loyal, and powerful warriors of the white horned army. It led to a suicide quest- soon the King was brutally executing the subjects he once protected, and suspected everyone behind the kidnapping of his son.
Kagome shuddered of the fall of the king. The way ‘Terror’ controlled his minions reminded her of Naraku. Kagome wasn’t sure if she could get to sleep now, but she continues to read on.
Lachian soon led groups of townsfolk and villagers in supposed pursuit of the missing prince- but he led them into a trap. Many of the innocents perished at the hands of demons, minions of the lord of Terror. The survivors of the army returned home, led by the noble Groble, who was also Tristrim’s blacksmith.
The kind ordered their execution and seeing how mad the King went, one of the royal guards kills him. Upon his dying breath, Haden cursed those who were close to him to serve him in Hell forever, thus his hatred awakened Terror’s older brother to create the undead skeletal warriors beneath the catacombs of Tristrim.
Terror thus planned to invade the town only to be slain by a travelling hero, but what became of his soulstone, no one knows...
The chapter ends there. Kagome said to herself that whoever wrote this had a good imagination. She was startled as a voice across from her whispered,
“Hey Kagome. You ok” It was InuYasha. He noticed she was awake.
Kagome nodded her head with a smile before putting the book away and falling back to sleep, only her dreams were filled with images of the chapter she read.
Sometime later in the night InuYasha heard the sound again and Kagome awoke to feel a presence across the forest. The others woke up too to feel the heavy atmosphere. They got to their feet, Kagome grabbing her stuff (and quickly placing them in her bag) and ran to where the threat lingered.
“Look there!” Shippo pointed towards a silver, white glow in between the trees.
“What is that?”
“I don’t and I don’t care. Let’s just have its head and be done with it”
“Hold on we don’t know if it’s hostile yet InuYasha”
Before he could answer back, they arrived to the source. It looked like a person, a female considering the curves. She was hooded but strangely they couldn’t see her face. Wings spread from her shoulders and she was wearing a white robe that seemed to have an aurora effect on them, shining in faint colours.
The woman said in a beautiful but frightening voice
“At last...you’re all here”
And all of a sudden a bright glow emerged from her chest and spread towards the group, engulfing them before they could do anything. Before any of them could make out their surroundings their worlds turned black.
A/N: ok so longer than usual...ouch my shoulder aches.
I forgot to mention that Alirah is the name I choose for the entire legendary world that is based on the Diablo universe, but the Diablo world is not called Alirah.
Also the chapter from the old book is from Diablo also, I just changed the names a bit.
I may need some help on setting up some fluff scenes so if you have any ideas, post them and I’ll make sure to give the credit to you.
Please review! Love you all!

Chapter 2
The next day, Kagome and InuYasha travel back down the well. Kagome decided to stay there for the next two weeks before she goes back to school. She also brought the tattered old book. For some reason, she feels she wants to read more, which slightly makes her nervous. The book contained dark stories and secrets if the reader looks properly.InuYasha has also taken an interest in the book. 1 is that he has heard the name Alirah before, he believes in his childhood, 2.
