InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Amaterasu High ❯ Terrific Thursday ( Chapter 9 )
Amaterasu High
A/N: Sorry about Kagome's crappy mood… I guess I was mirroring my mood to hers. Lol. So sorry, don't worry, it gets better for her and Inuyasha… but then again this is a INTERESTING story so watch out for those twists and turns I throw at you. I decided to skip Wednesday… cuz it was a pointless day… >>'
Chapter 9: Terrific Thursday
~@~
KAGOME:
I woke up to the sound of my annoyingly loud alarm clock. My hand immediately shot out from under my covers and silenced the alarm clock by slamming down on the "off" button; either that or I broke the god damned thing. I grumbled to myself and tried turning over to get out of my bed but I miscalculated how close I was to the edge of my bed and went tumbling to the ground.
"OOF!"
I lay there for a while trying to gather myself together. I opened my eyes a tad and blinked when I saw a sparkling pink light from somewhere under my bed.
"What's this…?"
I reached out and grasped a round orb and pulled it towards me. I opened my hands to reveal my necklace, the Shikon No Tama.
"Oh, I thought I'd lost you…"
I stood up and looked in the mirror, staring back at me was a girl with raven black hair that looked like an animal atop of her head and large chocolate brown eyes. I clasped the pink orb around my neck and stared at it around my neck for a moment. I then turned and walked out of my room to take a shower.
As I lathered the shampoo into my hair the poem I had wrote for yesterday's contest still ran through my mind like a broken record.
His defense is to be mean and rude,
And he is always in a bad mood.
He is always calling me names,
But hey, I do the same.
But still I can't ever forget,
The feeling I got when we first met.
It was something unexplainable,
And totally irreplaceable.
Right now I feel like a little child,
I'm feeling so timid and mild,
Because after this day ends,
I'll never know if we'll be friends.
(A/n: Poem written by my cousin and edited by me. THANK YOU CUZZY!)
I didn't get a prize for it but it bugged me how I came up with it.
I finally finished my shower and got out and started getting dress. I put on a pair of comfortable jeans and a big black T-shirt that was distributed to all seniors. I had decorated mine with silver puffy paint so it said `Seniors!' I had also cut it up decoratively and tied it so it fit better. I painted some black marks on my cheeks like a football player and tied one of the cut pieces around my head like a headband also.
After this I bounded down the stairs, grabbed a piece of toast and kissed my mom goodbye while running out the door. I always seem to find myself late!
I hopped into my car and started the engine. I quickly backed out of the driveway and drove to school.

INU:
I sat at a round table in front of the school waiting for Miroku to pull up. When his scent came wafting into my nose I turned and said," Is everything good to go for Friday and Saturday?"
Miroku was chomping on an apple and took his sweet time to finish and throw the core into a nearby trash bin.
"Now… yes Inuyasha. Everything is good for Friday and Saturday. I have the spell ready and waiting."
I nodded and turned to the parking lot once more. A car pulled up and out came none other than Kagome. I could hear her mumbling something about `damn pedestrians'. I took in her black shirt and jeans and laughed, she really got into this. I myself had just put on a black shirt with some khaki pants and walked out the door. (A/n: ::drools:: )
She looked up and our eyes connected. She smiled at me and walked over.
"Hey Inuyasha! Hey Miroku!"
I mumbled my usual `Keh' while Miroku smiled and said," Hey Kags!"
She smiled and sat down next to me. The scent of sakura blossom grew stronger with every step she took towards me and when she sat down I felt as if I were drowning. Her scent of sakura was always more prominent in the morning. When she had just gotten out of the shower and hadn't done anything yet.
I sat basking in her scent until she asked," So, Inuyasha? You got a date to Homecoming?"
"Keh," I huffed and crossed my arms," Why the hell would I want to go to something as stupid as Homecoming."
I noticed her roll her eyes and she answered," Well, maybe if you got more into the spirit you'd actually have some fun! Imagine that Inuyasha! FUN!"
I picked up the sarcasm and yelled," Are you calling me stupid woman?"
She stood up and shrugged her bag over her shoulder while smirking," Only if the glass slipper fits."
She walked away with her hips swaying and hair whipping in the wind, leaving me to gape in her wake. I also heard Miroku mutter," And the glass slipper definitely fits…"
"WHAT DID YOU SAY LECHER?"
"Nothing Inuyasha! Nothing at all! I swear it!"
"COME BACK HERE YOU IDIOT!"
"Remember Inuyasha! I have the spell! Only I can perform it!!!"

KAGOME:
Inuyasha wouldn't know fun if it came up behind him and bit him in the ass! I stomped through the halls of the school angrily not caring about the curious glances I was getting. Sango was leaning next to my locker nibbling on a blueberry muffin. As I wrenched open my locker and started shoving things into it, she raised an eyebrow.
"Someone is PMSing."
"Am not! It's… grawr!"
"Grawr? Interesting. What is this `grawr' you speak of?"
"Gr, Inuyasha. Who else?"
Sango sighed heavily and asked," What'd he do now?"
I was about to say," Because he has no intentions to go to Homecoming this Saturday!"
But then I realized what that would be implying. That would imply that I WANTED Inuyasha to be at Homecoming…
Hah! Like I'd want that ass there to ruin my night!
"He spilled my coffee."
Sango nodded a shoved the rest of her muffin into her mouth.
"Fo, arf uuz oin t su homfunnin?"
I gave Sango and look and she swallowed.
"I said," she added," Are you going to Homecoming?"
I suddenly felt my face heat up. I hadn't told Sango about Kenji yet.
"YOU ARE? AND YOU NEVER TOLD ME!?"
I winced and hissed," Sango! People are staring!"
Sango looked around at all the peering faces and her face flushed crimson red," Oh…"
I rolled my eyes and grabbed her around the wrist, dragging her to English.
As soon as we sat down she started grilling me on the whole Homecoming thing.
"Why didn't you tell me," I heard the hurt in her voice and felt a pang of guilt attack my heart. Poor Sango. I had been ignoring her with everything going on lately. I had to make it up to her. So I explained all about Kenji and stuff and at the end she had a strange look on her face.
"So… you're going to Homecoming with… Kenji?"
"Yep."
Her lips curled into a smile and she asked in an amused voice," Is that so…?"
I quirked an eyebrow and asked," What's wrong?"
"Nothing."
Though she still sported a smile on her face as we entered the classroom.
After school I invited Sango to come home with me, and maybe stop for ice cream on the way. Sango spotted a little ice cream shop on the street and we stopped to take a look. We stepped out of the car and entered the ice cream shop with a little jingle of the bell above us. As I got my ice cream and paid for it I turned to find a seat to sit with Sango at but stopped dead in my tracks when I saw very familiar face.
He was talking to Miroku I could see and only half his face was facing me. He had his sweatshirt hood over his head and was laughing at some joke Miroku had told. Miroku glanced into the shop and noticed my staring and gave a sort of shocked smiled. He grabbed Kenji by the shoulders and led him into the shop but when he was turned to face me, someone had slipped sunglasses on him. His face was flushed with pink as he stood there staring at me.
"Hiya Kenji."
"Uh… Hey Kagome…"
Miroku interjected," So you two excited about Homecoming this Saturday? You should join Sango and I in our limo."
My eyes widened at this," You and Sango are going together!?"
"Of course we are," Miroku exclaimed and gave a lecherous smile. As Sango came up next to him licking her ice cream innocently he wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her close. Her face flushed crimson red and she said," What are you doing!?"
"I was just telling everyone how you and I are attending the Homecoming dance together!"
"Oh…"
I crossed my arms and gave Sango a look," So here you're grilling me about Homecoming when you had a date also, hmmm?"
Sango mumbled something about her brother having soccer practice and raced out of the shop. Five minutes later I heard a car starting and driving away.
I licked my ice cream and turned to Kenji who was very interested with the floor tiles.
"Well, I had better be going. I have some chores to do at home and stuff."
He nodded and said," A-Alright."
I smiled and walked out of the shop hearing the jingle of the bell as I exited. I went to dig my keys out of my purse but they weren't there. I kept searching and then cursed looking up to find my car to see if I locked them in but my car was gone too! Then it hit me like a ton of bricks.
I gave Sango the keys when I went to pay for my ice cream…
Suddenly a hand was on my shoulder and I screamed whipping around to see Kenji.
"Something wrong Kagome?"
"Um… yeah… Sango jacked my car."
He stood there stunned a moment before a small smile appeared on his face.
"How the hell did she do that?"
"I gave her my keys…"
He chuckled and pulled a set of keys out of his own pocket.
"I'll give you a ride. Follow me."
He made his way down the line of cars outside the ice creams shop and stopped in front of a… motorcycle.
I felt my heartbeat faster and my voice shook as I asked," That's not yours is it!?"
"Yup, this is my baby. Why? Ya scared of motorcycles?"
"Um…"
"Hop on," he said and threw me a helmet.
I caught it and stared as he brought his leg over the bike and waited for me to do the same.
I took a deep cleansing breath and stepped forward. I brought my leg over and settled myself behind him. I slipped the helmet on and snaked my arms around his waist hesitantly and I could feel him take a quick intake of breath as my hands rested on his hips. The motorcycle suddenly roared to life and we were zooming down the street at lightning fast speed.
"AHHHHH! KENJI! SLOW DOOOWN!!!!"
I pressed my eyelids closed hoping beyond hope that we didn't hit something.

INU:
I gave a satisfied smirk as her grip around me tightened as the speed grew faster.
I found it just a bit harder to concentrate with her holding on to me like that. I zipped in between cars and around corners until I stopped when a red light showed.
"Hey Kagome?"
"What," she squeaked, her eyes still shut tight.
"Where do you live?"
"The Sunset Shrine."
"Really?"
"Yes," she still had her eyes closed.
When the light turned green I took off and felt her fingers digging into my sides.
