Amaterasu High

A/N: ::winces at all the mistakes in last chapter:: I'm sorry. I was so happy I finally finished it that I had to update for fear of losing it again. Sorry about that.

And I decided to change `Feh' to `Keh'. All right? Kay!

Chapter 8: Terrible Tuesday

KAGOME:

"…Kagome…?"

Ugh… no… five more minutes Mama…

"…Kagome?"

I felt prodding on my shoulder but I shrugged it off and mumbled," I don't wanna go to school, Mama…"

"…KAGOME!"

"EEP!"

I jumped a foot in the air and fell to the ground. I winced as a foot stepped on my fingers.

"Ow-w-w…"

I put my finger to my mouth and sucked on it trying to relieve the pain but it didn't help. I looked up to see an apologetic Sango.

"Sorry Kagome! You wouldn't wake up!"

She walked over to me and pulled me up.

" 'S okay Sango," I dusted myself off and realized class has ended.

"Oh! Did I fall asleep?"

"Yeah…"

I sighed and gathered my books," I stayed up all night studying for that math test today in 4th."

"Oh, I see."

As we walked to my locker to grab my psychology book I felt as if my body had gone through the most thorough work out imaginable. My eyelids were drooping and I keep my stare on the tiled floor of the hallway. Suddenly my body collided with something and I went flying back onto the floor, banging my poor, already hurting head against the floor.

Things around me spun dangerously fast and a pair of golden orbs floated into my view.

"Kagome? Are you alright?"

"Uh…"

The two orbs then warped into four… then six. What were these things…?

"How many fingers do you see?" asked the voice from beyond.

"Uh…"

Flesh colored objects appeared, there was six also.

"Six…"

A female voice from beyond said," Inuyasha you better take her to the nurse's office."

"Yeah, okay."

Inuyasha? Inuyasha was here? What? Whoa!

I felt my head spin as my body was lifted off the ground by someone.

"Gah!"

"What's wrong? Are you okay?"

"Head… hurts… a LOT!"

"Keh, come on stupid."

As Inuyasha carried me down the hall, at least I think that's what he was doing, I felt my vision starting to un-blur. Lockers became visible and so did the curious glances of certain students. I looked up to see Inuyasha with a slightly annoyed scowl on his face watching as we made our way down the hall.

"Inuyasha?"

He looked down and said," So your finally able to string together sentences, huh?"

I glared and asked," What happened?"

A smile graced his features as he replied," You ran into a door that opened."

I felt my face blush the color of a rose.

"W-what???"

"Yup. That sure was smart of ya."

"Inuyasha! Shut up! How embarrassing!!!"

I covered my face with my hands and thought of all the possible jokes I'd be submitted too now, but my head throbbed painfully when I thought of anything.

"Ouch!"

He looked at me," What?"

"It hurts to think…"

"And this is new?"

"Inuyasha!!!"

"I'm kidding," he said chuckling at my scowling face.

Grrr, stupid jerk! I wriggled in his arms and he stopped.

"What now?"

"I want down! NOW!"

He let me down and despite the throbbing pain in my head I stood shakily on my own two feet still grasping his forearm.

I straightened and said," I'll walk by myself thank you."

He smirked and said," Fine with me."

"Fine."

"Fine."

…

"Kagome?"

"What?"

"You can let go of my arm now and walk your way over to the nurses office."

"…Okay."

I reluctantly released his arm and took a small step down the hall. Nothing… okay, maybe I can do this! I took another normal step but my body swayed dangerously and I fell only to be caught by Inuyasha's strong arms.

"All by yourself huh?"

"Be quiet Inuyasha."

He swept me off my feet and continued carrying me bridal style to the nurse's office.

INU:

We entered the office awkwardly since the doorway was so small. The nurse took one look and jumped out of her chair.

"What happened?" she asked urgently coming over and putting the palm of her hand to Kagome's forehead.

"The janitor opened the closet door and almost knocked her out."

The nurse tutted her disapproval and said," Bring her over here. Right on the cot."

I set her down on the cot and she just glared at me.

"No need for thanks Kagome, I know you're grateful."

She just stuck her tongue out at me and I bowed to her.

"Your welcome my fair Lady Kagome."

I walked out of the room leaving the nurse to deal with her bitchy mood.

KAGOME:

A temperature check and couple of Tylonels away the nurse asked," I'm guessing you would like to go home after this little incident?"

I gave her a hopeful glance that turned into one of sadness," Yes, but I have a math test…"

She gave me a smile and said," Oh well maybe after your test than, I know I would."

I smiled as she gave me a small ice pack for my head and sent me off to go to my third period.

INU:

She still wasn't back… what if she had a concussion? What if she had gone into a coma! Oh no, and I left her there alone with that useless nurse!

"Sango?"

"Yes Inuyasha," she replied taking her seat next to Miroku in English.

"Where's Kagome?"

"I'm thinking she went home."

"WHY?"

She gave me a curious look and I cleared my throat," I mean, it didn't look that serious."

She gave me a smile and replied," Well, she must want to go home. She's got to have a major headache."

"Keh. Whatever."

Then the door opened and there stood a dishelved Kagome. She walked over to the seat next to me and plopped down letting out a sigh, I noticed a big water stain on the front of her clothes.

"Kagome?"

"Not now, Inuyasha," she snapped back with a very angry voice.

I glanced at Sango who brought her hand up to neck level and brought it across her throat indicating for me to cut it out. I nodded and brought my attention back to the English lesson.

KAGOME:

I am so not having a good day! First off I get hit with a freakin door then when I get out of the nurses office I try to get my English book I only succeed in breaking the plastic bag full of ice I had all over the front of my shirt! As if that wasn't enough, my homework for this period is ruined!

Today… SUCKS!

INU:

I walked to my car and unlocked it, then my sensitive ears picked up the sound of grumbling and the scent of sakura blossoms reached my nose. I looked up to see Kagome walking down the stairs of the school looking annoyed about something. She suddenly tripped out of nowhere and the contents of the bag she was carrying went scattering across the floor.

I watched as Kagome sat up on her heels and stared at the mess around her. The back of her head bowed and the scent of salt water reached my senses.

`Aw crap… she's crying.'

(A/N: Has anyone had one of those days where everything goes wrong and you just start crying like a baby out of nowhere? I have, so have all of my friends. Those kinds of days suck ass.)

I jogged over to her and said hesitantly," Kagome…?"

Her back stiffened and her sniffly voice replied," Have you come to make fun of me too Inuyasha?"

"What?"

She stood up and twirled to look at me very quickly and I stepped back at the sudden movement.

Her eyes were ablaze with anger and her voice rose in frustration," I said, have you come to make fun of me too!!! Because if you have you've been beaten to it! So fuck off asshole!!!"

She bent down and began shoving the stuff scattered across the floor hurriedly into her bag. I bent down too and tried handing her a notebook but before I could grab it she snatched it away. I then tried to get the pen to my right but she grabbed that too. I tried to grab an eraser and just as I had expected she grabbed that too but before she could shove her hand into the bag I grabbed it and held it tight.

She struggled against my grip and said," Inuyasha! Stop! Leave me alone!"

I pulled on her hand and brought her body into a tight embrace. Her muscles tensed and she tried struggling but after a while her body slacked and she began sobbing into my shirt.

"You-You stupid jerk! Why do you have to be like this! One minute your hating me and calling me names and the next your just so-so-so nice to me and I can't take it Inuyasha! I can't- I…"

I couldn't understand anything after that because her sobs became to loud and I began comforting her.

"Kagome, I'm sorry. I'm sorry about everything. I'm a jerk, I know. And I know that I'm stupid too. It's the curse of being a guy I guess… but Kagome… I want you to consider forgiving me. I hope that you can find the sympathy in that big heart of yours to forgive me for everything stupid that I have done, which is pretty much everything. Please Kagome, I'm sorry."

Her sobs had stopped in the middle of my speech and I waited for her to answer me. I felt her take in a deep breath and I braced myself for what was to come.

"Inuyasha… I-I forgive you…" she whispered.

I felt my heart soar and my embrace tightened as if I wasn't really sure this were real Like it was some dream and any minute she would disappear from my arms I'd wake up to another crappy day in the life as a teenage hanyou.

Her arms snaked around my stomach and she hugged me back. I smiled and closed my eyes taking in the sweet scent of sakura blossoms.
