“KAGOME!” Shippo called running and jumping into her arms. “I was so worried about you.” The kitsune said snuggling into her chest.

“It’s okay Shippo I’m going be just fine.” Kagome said hugging him.

“Glad to see you well lady Kagome.” Miroku said with a pleasant smile.

“Yes we were all worried.” Sango said relieved that she was alright now.

Sesshomaru’s face showed no emotion but his eyes said it all, he was in fact glad that she was alright. He knew that if she died it would tear Inuyasha up. She walked over to the seat next to Inuyasha and was shocked when he stood up and pulled out the chair for her. She smiled sweetly and sat down. “Thank you.” She said a little above a whisper as he sat down. He nodded and once she got her plate they all began to eat.

“I owe you one Miroku.” Kagome said.

“Hmm.” Miroku said looking up and over at her.

“You know what I‘m talking about…so don‘t play innocent.” She said referring to him groping her earlier.

“Yes of course.” Miroku replied wiping his mouth with the napkin.

“So how long do you plan to stay?” Sesshomaru said taking a sip of water.

“Will be out of your hair tomorrow…so don‘t get your tail in a bunch.” Kagome said wiping her mouth.

“So soon…” Sesshomaru said kind of shocked. ‘She couldn’t of healed that fast.’

“Yes…I’m fine so there is no need to take up anymore of your time.” Kagome said.

“Shouldn’t you rest for a few days and heal.” Sango asked.

“I’m fine Sango…and knowing Inuyasha he most likely agrees that we should leave tomorrow.” Kagome said looking around the table. Everyone looked at Inuyasha wondering if this was true.

“Normally I would agree...but you being in the condition that you are in I think we should stay a couple of days until you are completely healed.” Inuyasha replied.

“I thought you of all people would want to go looking for the last jewel shard as soon as possible.” Kagome said a little shocked at his answer.

“Well can’t do that with a broken…” He began but cut himself off. ‘You’re the reason she hurt remember.’ He told himself. “With you injured.”

“So we can travel when your injured but not when I am.” She said closing her eyes and crossing her arms. “If I didn’t know any better I’d say your calling me weak” Kagome said. “Are you calling me weak Inuyasha?”

‘Damn.’ He thought. He hated these type of questions there weren’t any right answers.


‘No.’ ‘So your saying I’m strong maybe as strong as you.’ ‘No!’ ‘So your saying I’m weak.’ ‘No…your just not as strong as me.’ ‘SIT.’

‘Yes.’ ‘SIT.’

Either way it went he’d get sat.

“We all know you’re a strong Miko, but it‘s only right that you rest and regain your energy to insure your safety.” Sesshomaru answered for Inuyasha.

Everyone was shocked at this reply but nodded in agreement.

“Alright will stay a few days.” Kagome said giving in.

“So there’s only one left.” Sesshomaru said breaking the silence.

“Yup.” Kagome said proudly.

“And I take it that it’s in Naraku’s possession.” Sesshomaru said. She nodded. “So do you have a plan to defeat him?” He asked looking at Inuyasha.

“No…I don’t use a plan and I always defeat you.” Inuyasha said proudly.

“And that’s why you always barely defeat me….well I wouldn’t actually call it a defeat…seeing as how I’m still alive.” Sesshomaru said with a smirk shooting him down off his high horse.

“Coming up with a plan may not be such a bad idea.” Miroku agreed.

“Feh..” Inuyasha replied getting up and walking out of the room.

“Wonder what’s up with him?” Shippo asked no one in particular.

“If you’ll excuse me.” Sesshomaru said getting up and following after Inuyasha.

“Is it just me or are those two acting strange.” Sango asked.

“You’ve notice it to…I thought I was going crazy.” Kagome said with a smile.

“I like the new Inuyasha.” Miroku said setting down his fork.

“Yeah he doesn’t hit as much.” Shippo said looking around at them.

“Enjoy the meal?” Miroku asked holding in a laugh.

“Yeah Shippo would you like the rest of mine?” Sango said also holding in a laugh.

“Huh?” Shippo said with a confused look as he looked over at Kagome.

“Oh Shippo…” Kagome said in a loving tone with a hint of laughter as she looked over and saw his face covered in food.

“What?” He asked blinking with confusion.

“Sango do you think you could clean him up for me?” Kagome asked.

“Yes of course.” Sango said. “Come on Shippo.” She said getting up from the table and holding out her hand for him to grab onto, which he did and they walked out of the room together.

Once they were out of sight Kagome looked over at Miroku with a evil smirk on her face. “Oh Miroku..” She called cracking her knuckles.

“I’ll go look around…I’m sure Sesshomaru won’t mind.” He said standing and quickly leaving the room.

Kagome smiled and laid her back against the chair with a sigh, she was just about to get up and go look around herself but stopped as a quick pain shot through her. ‘Maybe I should go lay down.’ She though just as Rin walked into the room.

“Are you alright?” She called walking over to her.

Kagome put on a fake smile and replied “Yeah…can you show me back to my room.” Rin nodded, helped her up and to her room.
