Inuyasha runs ahead of everyone with Kagome secured on his back.
“Inuyasha what’s wrong?” Kagome asks as she clutches tightly to his back.
“I caught Naraku’s scent up ahead. Also I caught the sent of fire and...human blood.” Inuyasha replied solemnly as he raced along.
Up above the them Sango, Miroku, and Shippo all flew along on top of Kirara.
“Inuyasha their’s a village up ahead.” Miroku exclaimed. “From the looks of it it’s been completely destroyed!”
The group reaches the village to find it , just as Miroku predicted, totally destroyed. The building were completely demolished bodies littered the streets.
“T-this is terrible!” Shippo exclaimed as he shuddered at the carnage.
“Naraku was here I can still smell his putrid stench!” Inuyasha exclaimed “We should hurry and we might be able to catch up to him!”
“No Inuyasha. We have to see if there are any survivors first!” Kagome exclaimed.
“Look around Kagome! Everyone’s dead. We can’t let Naraku get away.”
“Inuyasha...” Kagome pleaded. *I can’t believe how heartless he is. He’s not even affected by all this. He can be such a jerk sometimes.*
“Uh-oh...Kagome looks mad again.” Shippo said as he ducked behind Sango.
“Inuyasha. Kagome is right we need to search for survivors first. Then we’ll follow Naraku.” Sango said.
“Look I understand what your saying..but it’s pretty obvious Naraku’s killed everyone here. Besides...we need to stop him before he can do this to another village.” Inuyasha said as he knelt down and picked up a little doll that was covered in dirt and blood.
“Look...if we don’t find him by nightfall we’ll return and bury the dead okay.”
“Inuyasha doesn’t it bother you that Naraku’s scent is so easy to follow.” Miroku said.
“Huh, what do you mean Miroku spill it out already!” Inuyasha snapped obviously getting angry at the continual delay in following Naraku.
“I was simply stating that usually Naraku hide’s behind a barrier so you can’t sense him. Now however it’s as if he wants us to follow him.”
“Don’t be absurd. Evidently Naraku’s just running scared. He probably realize’s that Look we need to hurry, the sun’s already sunk behind the hill. We need to...” Inuyasha statement was suddenly cut off by a rustling in the bushes next to them.
“Filthy demon! I’ll kill you!” a voice said as suddenly a figure lunged at Inuyasha from the bushes.
“Whoa what the...” Inuyasha exclaims as he easily avoids the man’s attack. Inuyasha then draws his sword and readies himself for battle.
“I’m going to make you pay for working with that bastard!” a man under a black cloak yelled as he readied his sword again for another strike. The sword Inuyasha noticed was pulsating with demonic energy. The sword’s appearance was not that of a usual sword either. It was straight with two white blades running straight from the handle, a middle blade was also running from the handle but it glowed a bright red.
“Wait sir. I believe your mistaken. We’re not with the demon that attacked this village.” Miroku stated calmly.
“He’s correct. We in fact are currently hunting the demon that did this.” Sango added trying to calm the furious villager.
“You lie. Why would a demon hunter ally herself with a demon?” the villager asked.
“Because these are good demons. In a way their like demon hunters to.” Kagome said pointing to Shippo, Inuyasha, and Kirara who thought it wise not to transform.
“A demon hunting other demons...hmmm. Wait a minute...that sword...is it Tetsuiaga?” the man asked.
“W-what...how do you know about my Tetsuiaga?” Inuyasha asked.
“Heh, so you’re the one’s who took out the bat demon’s barrier. I should’ve known.” the man said as he lowered his sword.
“How do you know about the bat demons?” Sango asked.
“Because like you I am a demon hunter.” the man said as he let down his cloak revealing his appearance for the first time. The man was only about 20 years of age from appearance he had shoulder length white hair and icy blue eyes. His skin was a very pale color and he wore clothes similar to Sango’s except it was completely black. His wrist guard were silver however and he had a red symbol on the front of his shirt. It resembled two bat wings with a sword in the middle.
“So you’re a demon hunter eh. Then you can tell us what happened to this village.” Inuyasha said bluntly “And while your at it you can explain why your sword is pulsing with demonic energy.”
“Well, to answer your first question...all hell broke loose. I was away at another village when it happened. When I got back it was too late. The demon was already gone when I got back...that when I saw you guys.”
“When you attacked us though you knew it wasn’t us that attacked the village how?” Miroku asked.
“Because, your friends demonic energy isn’t like that of the one that attacked this village. I’m sorry about attacking you though.” the man said quietly.
“It’s okay. In all honesty we’re used to people attacking us by now thanks to Inuyasha.” Kagome said brightly.
“Yeah, well why don’t you start explaining about your sword then.” Inuyasha grumpily said.
“It’s pulsating demonic energy because it was made from the two fangs from the lord of the vampire demon’s. The special blade in the middle absorbs the blood of the demon’s that it has killed increasing it’s power.”
“Wow, that sounds awesome.” Shippo exclaimed.
“Now I have a question for you. You say your hunting this demon...do you know it’s name?” the man asked with a glint of pain and hope in his eyes.
“The demon’s name is Naraku. We’re all searching for him for our own reasons.” Miroku stated.
“Fair enough. I have one more request of you. I would like to accompany you to find Naraku.” the man said.
“Sorry pal but no way. I know you’re a demon hunter and all, but we don’t need to worry about you while we’re fighting. We fight some pretty strong demon’s you know. Waaaaaaay out of your league.” Inuyasha said quickly.
“Oh really.” the man said. Suddenly he disappeared and reappeared in front of Kagome with his sword drawn.
“Aaah” Kagome yelled as she ducked the and the sword passed right above her head.
“Kagome! You bastard you’d better not have hurt her!” Inuyasha said as he readied his sword once again.
“Shut up you fool and look around you. While we’ve been talking demon’s have come to pillage and feed on the corpses of the dead here.” the man said as a demon fell to the ground from behind Kagome. “ A demon snuck up on your woman here. So relax, I wouldn’t dare hurt a lady.”
The man gave his hand to Kagome and raised her up. Surely enough as the man had said numerous demon’s had surrounded them and we’re all ready to strike at the small group.
Inuyasha quickly destroyed a large group of the demon' s with his powerful wind scar. Sango demolished six demons with her Hiraikotsu. Miroku destroyed two demons with his staff. Kirar at this point had transformed and began tearing into the demon's. But for some reason for every demon they killed two more took it's place. The new demon hunter then began fighting and was able to take out 3 or 4 demons with a single swipe of his sword. Kagome obliterated four demons that tried to attack her, it was then that she realized that she felt the pressence of multiple jewel shards.
