Koga, Ayame, Ginta, and Hakkaku were hurrying along the northern plain when Koga stopped dead in his tracks.
"What's wrong Koga?" Hakkaku asked incredilous to what had already halted Ayame as well.
"There's no way." Koga said as he looked at the horizion.
"They're dead...aren't they? We killed them all." Ayame said. It was at this moment that Ginta and Hakkaku saw what had stopped even the mighty Koga in his tracks. Their before them was the band of seven.
"Actually, we we're dead the first time you fought us. Now...we're immortal." Bankotsu said with a smirk. He twirled his banryuu around his fingers and quicky rested it on his shoulders. "Naraku brought us back to keep you pest's at bay. The first time you were lucky because those two damn dog demon's helped you. But this time your not going to be as lucky!"
"What the hell do you mean they helped me. I didn't ask for their help." Koga said instantly regaining his anger as he starred down his foes.
"It really doesn't matter anyway, your just going to die so there's no point in arguing." Bankotsu said.
"Bankotsu, why don't I go scout out to make sure Inuyasha isn't coming." Jakotsu said with a sly smile on his lips.
"We don't need you to go messing around Jakotsu. Naraku wants us all the be here in case that mutt does come this way." Suikotsu siad as he flexed his arm and raised his clawed hand menacingly.
"Sure spoil all my fun. Besides, Naraku just wants us to mess with them anyway. We're not even going to be doing any fighting. So why can't I go find Inuyasha?" Jakotsu pouted.
"What the hell do you mean your not going to fight us!" Koga shouted.
"Koga, maybe we should consider this a good thing and leave before they reconsider." Ayame said.
* I know Koga wants to fight, but even he should be able to tell that the odds are slim against all seven at once.* Ayame thought to herself.
"Simple, why send a lion to kill a mouse when a common house cat can do it." Bankotsu sneered.
"What the hell are you getting at?" Koga questioned. His anger rising with every sarcastic comment that Bankotsu spat out.
"Let me dumb it down for you. Why send us to kill lowly wolf demons....when you can send wolf demons to kill wolf demons." With that Bankotsu stomped his foot and the band of seven slowly backed up.
"What's going on Koga?" Hakkaku asked.
"Ah crap it's the same as before." Koga stated as the ground began to give way under their feet and the fallen wolf demon's from Koga's tribe began to come forth from the ground.
"You'd be a fool to think Naraku would pull the same trick twice." Renkotsu said arrogantly.
"I think you'll notice that there's something different about these zombies." Mukotsu said.
"What do you mean?" Ayame asked.
* I wonder what's wrong with Koga. He seem's really shaken.* Ayame thougth. It was then that she realized why he looke so pale.
"K-Koga help us." one of the demo's said as he looked at Koga.
"Subaka." Koga replied hoarsley.
"Ha ha. Now you understand. Naraku has not only brought back their bodies, he's also brought back their souls." Ginkotsu replied in his robotic like voice.
"Enough of this...wolf demon's attack!" Bankotsu yelled. Suddenly all the wolf demon's lunged at Koga and his group who reeled backwards in surprise.
"Shit, I hate to do this but..." Koga said as he launched a poweful kick wich snapped the neck of the demon in front of him. "It's got to be done."
Koga was about to fight two more when the demon who's neck he had just snapped punched him in the chest. Koga looked at what had once used to be Subaka. The demon looked at him and laughed as he snapped his neck back into place.
"Now that wasn't very nice, was it Koga." 'Subaka' said, the last word however sounded exactly like Naraku's voice.
"Damn you Naraku!" Koga yelled as he sent a powerful punch at Subaka. The demon didn't even try to dodge it as the punch ripped through his chest. With a quick motion the demon grabbed onto Koga's arm making Koga unable to break free.
"Let me go you damn puppet!" Koga yelled as he struggled to get free. By this time several other wolf demon's surrounded Koga and were about to launch an all out assault on him.
"No you don't!" Koga yelled as he jumped up and placed both of his feet on the Subaka's chest. With a powerful lunge he was able to break free just as the demon's made their move. Koga spun around and caught one demon in the jaw breaking his neck. He caught two more with powerful spinning kicks, and then quickly ran past all the others before they could surround him again.
*Shit, there's no way to kill them. So how in the world am I supposed to win against them?* Koga thought as he ran towards Ayame. She was fairing about as well as he was. Ayame was actually running on top of the demon's heads! She was launching her exploding leaves in every direction but it didn't seem to help her out any. Suddenly as she was running a demon reached up and grabbed her foot and pulled her down into the massive mod of Naraku's reincarnations, so to speak.
"Koga!" Ayame screamed as she was pulled downwards to what seemed like a never ending valley of Naraku's demons.
"Ayame!" Koga eagerly responded as he rushed in to save her. He crashed through the demon's first line when he launched himself into the air and with a mighty punch sent shockwaves through the ground which sent the demon's flying in all directions.
"Ayame are you okay?" Koga said his voice full of worry as he called out for her.
*Crap, I still can't see her. Where is she?* Koga frantically thought. Suddenly his questions were answered as a large group of demon's were sent flying past Koga's head by a powerful explosion. Ayame had been covered with demon's and used her exploding leaf to free herself.
"Ayame watch out!" Koga yelled as three demon's came up from behind her. Before her or Koga could react Hakkaku and Ginta each took out one of the demon's with flying kicks, the middle demon was brought down by Koga' s wolves. Koga regrouped with his friends as they were being surrounded by what used to be their friends and their pack.
"What a way to go. Killed by your own pack." Ginta said morbidly.
"Hey don't say that. We're still alive aren't we? And we're going to make sure we stay this way." Ayame reassured him even though she herself wasn't sure how in the world they'd get out of this.
"Don't worry we'll get out of this. I'm sure as hell not going to die here, especially not before I kill Naraku and repay him for what he's done to these guys." Koga said. Even though they were no longer really his pack he still felt a strong bond to them and knew without a shadow of a doubt that if they had any control over thier bodies they wouldn't dare attack him or anyone else.
"Hmm, I think it's about time to end their suffering don't you think?" Renkotsu said to Bankotsu who was busily thinking.
*Something must be bothering him if he's actually thinking.* Renkotsu thought. *Maybe he's finally questioning his loyalty to Naraku. It's about time for him to realize that Naraku's just using us.*
"Naraku said not to kill them." Bankotsu said with a downcast looked. The band of seven had never seen Bankotsu bow down to anyone's demands before and it pained them to see their leader like this. "But who give's a damn what he thinks I'm in the mood for a little action."
With those wors Bankotsu looked up with a smirk on his face which brightened all the band of seven's perspectives. Their leader wouldn't bow down to anyone, and that made them glad.
"Naraku's going to be mad, but I'm sick and tired of following his orders. It's time we do something about it." Bankotsu said. "Now let's have some fun."
Even though they sounded happy at the prospect of killing the wolf demon's all of them we're thinking the same thing.
*When will we finally be able to rest? When will our soul's finally find solace? Will we ever be able to stop killing people?*
