InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Angel in Disguise ❯ What on earth happened? ( Chapter 7 )
((A/N: I just wanted to say thank you to you who reviewed my story! Wee someone actually likes my writing! *dances* Anyway, I'm going to apologize again because I know these chapters seem rather small, but it's so bloody hard for me to really dig in until something strikes me. And right now, I'm really working on trying to create a beginning for all of the group and Melena. It'll be easier when I start the fluffy stuff in the future))
Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha or any of the Inuyasha gang. I only fantasize that Inuyasha could be mine. *sighs wistfully*
The first thing that came to me was the roar of water and the cool mist coating over me. I shivered at the feel of the coolness of it, and opened my eyes partially. Everything was bleary at first as I slowly came out of the comforting darkness and began to see light flickering through the trees nearby and overhead. Wait a minute… since when were the schools trees so large? I jerked my head up, or at least tried, giving a moan as I opened my eyes more, taking in the sight before me. I stiffened as I noticed nothing looked familiar around me. The small water fountain that had been in the maze was no longer there, replaced with a small yet impressive waterfall that crashed into the rippling pool beneath it. It was the very waterfall I had seen in that strange reflection in the fountain. The maze was also missing, as well as the entire school and school grounds as I looked around. I began to notice things not only looked different from my location, but also from my own eyesight. The colors seemed richer, more detailed and brighter. I also found that I had to angle my head a certain way in order to look around, which began to frighten me. I've never needed to do that before. The next thing that struck me was my sudden intense sense of smell; everything was so strong, to where I could actually taste it on the back of my tongue. My heart gave a hard thump in my ribs as I also noticed my hearing had become clearer. Everything was so strangely clear and loud. I could even hear the rustle of a birds feathers that was up in a giant tree a few feet away, shifting in its sleep. How could I… a mere human have this keen sense of sense, sight, and sound? I felt that perhaps if I got to my feet, then maybe I would feel a little better and be able to get more of an idea of where I was. I gathered my legs beneath me and heaved up, only to collapse onto my face, giving out a sharp cry has the wet grass struck my nose. No…. wait. That didn't feel like a nose… at least not a human nose. My heart began to beat against my ribs harder as I also realized I wasn't able to use my legs as I normally could. I glanced down at myself only to blink, shut my eyes tightly, giving a hard shake of my head that only dizzied me more so, and then took another look. God above what had happened to me?! The body I knew… was no longer there! In place I saw long slender legs, like a horses curled beneath a large pure white body, a body I was not accustomed to seeing except in only paintings and drawings. I shivered in fear as I thought that perhaps I could take a look at my face within the water of the large pool beside me. I began to lean forward, terrified as I paused before taking a deep breath and looking into the reflection. One look and I snapped my head back, my eyes huge with disbelief. I gave my head another shake, feeling my body tremble as I took another look. No I was not seeing visions… at least I didn't think so which terrified me more. My face was no longer my own. It was long yet slender and delicate with a muzzle of velvet gray, nostrils flared wide showing the pink insides, quivering, as slender equine yet doe/like ears swiveled forward, my aqua eyes larger than normal and seeming to shimmer beneath a thick long forelock of silvery gold hair with an extreme long spiral horn of many different colors, and yet of no color, like that of a jewel that reflects color when light strikes it adorning my brow, gleaming in the sunlight that trickled through the breaks in the clouds and trees above. My face… was that of a unicorn!
