“Kagome, I think its time we get back to the group.” Inuyasha spoke gently while nugging Kagome. “Oh…we should? But I like just laying here in your arms.” Kagome responded then brought her hand up to her neck, in the spot where Inuyasha marked her. “Ya know…that hurt and it still kinda does…What is the exact point of it again?” Kagome questioned as she turned to Inuyasha in aw.

 

“Well it tells other demons that you are mine so that they don't mess with you. Its like somewhat of protection but then in a way it makes you more at risk. If some demons notice a marking on a female, they may try to harm you. But the main purpose is that it keeps you connected to me. If you ever get lost or something happens to you it makes it easier to find you.” Inuyasha explained then turned up to the sky.

 

“But you can already catch my scent when ever im not around you Inuyasha, so it kinda doesn't make a difference.” Kagome exclaimed. “True, but now it connects our souls so it makes it easier for me to find you and know if anything is wrong.” Inuyasha smiled as he stood to his feet, then offered Kagome his hand. “Oh ok, I see but also I heard from Sango that with hanyou's that after being marked females are to be submissive to the males at all times. Now Inuyasha you know that I don't like be told what to do…so we are gonna have to figure out a way to work with this. I refuse to be submissive.” Kagome sternly spoke as she reached at Inuyasha's hand and rose to her feet.

 

“Listen, Kagome I don't expect you to be submissive, but as a respect and ritual matter, if we ever are around other youkai its important for you to at least try to be submissive for my sake. If it is thought that a female is not submissive to her mate, that she may have been forced to the mating ritual. And with that said you could be taking away from me.

 

But still don't worry its very unlikely to encounter something severe as that.” Inuyasha said with a grin then grabbed Kagome's hand…dragging her towards the camp. “Now lets go woman…keh the others probably thought we died or something…” “oh Inuyasha, don't be so demanding.” Kagome spoke then pulled away from Inuyasha's grip, Then started running back towards the camp. “Keh, crazy woman.” Inuyasha growled as he trailed after Kagome.

 

“Miroku, Sango!” Kagome yelled out while continuing to run towards the camp, hands waving and all. “Kagome, where have you been? You guys have been disappearing a lot on us. I'm starting to wonder if you guys are getting tired of traveling with us.” Sango sighed. “Don't be silly Sango I love traveling with you guys…its just…uh me and Inuyasha just needed to talk.” Kagome stopped in front of Sango and started to blush. “Well what do we have here?” Miroku curiously asked. “uhh nothing what are you talking about?” Kagome fiddled with her fingers and stared at the ground, blushing.

 

 

“It appears that Kagome's been marked.” Sango exclaimed with a smile on her face. “So who marked you?” Miroku questioned as he turned and grinned at Inuyasha. “Who do you think monk?” Inuyasha growled hesitantly. “Oh Kagome this is wonderful! I'm so happy for you. Its about time Inuyasha confessed his feelings.” Sango giggled then turned to Inuyasha. “Keh…whatever…” Inuyasha snapped then started walking into Kaede's hut. “Yeah, I'm happy that we finally can be together.” Kagome sighed with relief. Well you know what that means? You have to mark him back. I noticed he didn't have a mark.” Miroku explained.

 

“And if you don't mark him it doesn't rightfully make him connected to you.” Kagome's face grew confused. “How am I to mark him? I don't have fangs to sink right into him.” She scratched her head in confusion. “Well I guess you have to get Inuyasha to dig his claws in his own skin and you must lick the wound.” Miroku spoke again. Kagome turned to Miroku with a sour look on her face. “Ew that's gross, I have to lick his wound? Miroku sighed and shook his head. “Well if you two are to rightfully be mates, you have to.” Kagome placed her hand on her chin then turned and started to walk to Kaede's hut

 

The gang all walked and took a seat inside, all were in a circle listen to Kaede's wise words. “So ye marked Kagome, Congratulations.” Kaede exclaimed as she started stirring her pot of soup. Kagome sat quietly and stared at Inuyasha who was gazing out the window, deep in thought. He then turned to Kagome, noticing something was wrong. “Hey, Kagome…can I talk to you outside for a moment.” Inuyasha spoke in a serious tone. Kagome slowly rose to her feet and followed Inuyasha outside. “yes Inu..” she was interrupted by Inuyasha pressing his lips against hers then he embraced her.

 

“Listen Kagome, its important that you mark me.” Inuyasha sternly spoke as he pulled away from Kagome gently and stared into her warm, brown eyes. Kagome gave him a light smile. “Yes, I do need to.” Inuyasha then took his claws and dug them into his neck. “Hurry.” Kagome then started gently sucking Inuyasha's self inflicting wound. She quenced her eyes shut as the burning feeling once again shot through her body, but quickly passed. “There, we have completed the mating ritual.” Inuyasha smiled then gave Kagome a peck on the lips.

 

“How come it burns me but you don't seem affected?” Kagome questioned as she looked into Inuyasha's eyes. “Keh, I have demon blood through my vains, I don't feel pain as easily as you.” He smirked then started to slid his hands up Kagome's thighs. “SIT!” Kagome yelled out. Of course Inuyasha became one with the ground. “Wh..what was the for?” Inuyasha growled, face still implanted to the ground. “Don't be such a smart ass.” Kagome angrily spoke as she turned and started walking back into the hut. “Hmphh” Inuyasha slowly rose to his feet. “God she is such a pain, but I still love her.” Inuyasha thought to himself as she brushed him self of and let out a giggle.
