Chapter 2
Return To The Past

A dark abyss surround Michiru and Kagome as they fell. Michiru has his yes tightly shut.
A moment latter he felt his feet on solid ground. He opened his eyes and looked up.
He saw sunlight and herd birds chirping. "Let’s climb out." suggested Kagome.
They helped each other out of the hole. Michiru turned around and saw that they climbed
out of a well. Michiru looked in awe at it until he spoke. "Kagome..Is this..the Bone
Eater’s Well?" he asked. "Yes. It is." she replied. "Then that means..I’m back." he said to
himself. A tear ran down his cheek as he smiled. "I’ve come back!" he said gleefully.
Michiru turned to Kagome. She was smiling at the delight of her friend’s happiness.
"Kagome. I don’t know what to say." said Michiru. Kagome just shut her eyes, smiled and giggled.


She then quickly opened them in surprise, and gasped. "What is it Kagome?" asked Michiru.
Kagome turned direction to Kaede’s Village. "I..I sense shards of the Shikon Jewel!"
she replied. "Really? Are they close?" asked Michiru. "Yes thy are." replied Kagome.
The two then herd faint sounds of a battle going on. Kagome put down her backpack in front
of the well. She then pulled out a set of bow and arrows. "I think the others need our help.
Let’s go." said Kagome. "Right." said Michiru.

Meanwhile, just outside Kaede’s Village, a group of heroes was facing off with a giant spider.
One was a boy with long white hair, pointy dog ears, and yellow eyes. He had claws and
bare feet. He was wearing a red robe, with a white komodo under it. He had on a necklace
with black beads and white fangs, and was welding a large sword. Another was a child who
resembled a fox. He has short brown hair, with a light blue bow tie, and had blue eyes.
He had a bushy tail and bare feet. He was wearing a light orange vest, with a light blue
komodo under it. He also had on dark blue hakama. Another was a tall young monk,
in a black and purple komodo. He had short brown hair and brown eyes.
He was caring a gold staff, with a circle shape at the end. There were six rings in the
circle. He had sandals on his feet. And there was a young woman with a large two-tail cat.
The cat’s fur was mostly yellow, with an exception on her ears, paws, and the tips of her
tails, which were black. As well as a marking on her forehead. She had fangs and big red eyes.
The women had her long brown hair in a ponytail. She had on purple eye shadow over her
light brown eyes. She was wearing a black body suit, which covered her whole body, excluding
her face. There was a yellow symbol on her right shoulder, which short of resembled a
pine tree. She had on pink padding on her shoulders, elbows, waist, and knees.
She had a red silk belt to hold a katana, but her weapon of choice was a
body sized boomerang. The boomerang had brown straps at each end, so it
could easily be thrown and caught.

"Coming your way Inuyasha!" yelled the fox child. He formed a light
green fire in his hand and tossed toward Inuyasha. "Say no more!" shouted Inuyasha,
as the fire engulfed his sword. Inuyasha let out a growl, as he ran and slashed
the spider’s neck. The monk let out a grunt as he threw a sutra at the
spider’s head. It let out a yell as the sutra connected. "Go, Kirara!"
shouted the women. The large cat charged at the spider and tackled it.
"Hiraikotsu!" shouted the women as she threw her boomerang. It took out the
spider’s left legs. "Ok! Now I’ll finish it!" shouted Inuyasha. Suddenly, the
spider healed itself. "What?!" said Inuyasha. "It recovered?" asked the women.
"Ugg! Damn it! Where the hell is Kagome?!" growled Inuyasha.

Suddenly, an arrow covered in a blue energy, pierced threw the spider, as it let
out a scream. "That arrow." said the monk. "And that energy." added the women.
The heroes turned around and saw their two friends in the distance. "Kagome-sama!"
shouted the monk. "And Michiru!" added the fox child. However, the spider went back
on its attack. Kirara charged at it, and was ready to bite it. But then the spider
spat out, a ball of web from it mouth. The impact sent Kirara flying back.
She then reverted back to her true, smaller forum. "Kirara!" shouted the women.
She ran to her companion, and hold her in her arms. "Kirara! Are you Ok?" asked
the women. She then suddenly felt the spider behind her. She turned and gasped,
and clutched Kirara. The spider was about to finish her off, when someone grabbed
hold oh her, and Kirara. She heard her saviors feet slid on the ground. When she
looked up to see her hero, it was Michiru. He was panting. They looked at each other
and blushed. "Um, hi." said Michiru. The women was lost for words as she looked into
his eyes. However the moment was broken up as the giant spider attack again. Michiru
and the women gasped, but then, the monk paired the spider’s attack. "Hoshi-sama!"
said the women. The monk then pushed back the spider with a few more sutras. The monk
then turned his head and said, "Nice to have you back." Michiru looked at the monk,
gave a small smile and nodded.

Michiru helped the women up, as Kagome was standing by Inuyasha. "Inuyasha, this youkai
has shards on him." said Kagome. "Where?" asked Inuyasha. Kagome looked at the spider
carefully. "On it’s back, and torso." replied Kagome. "Everyone." said Michiru.
"Hay, let’s save the hellos, for after we take care of this thing." said Inuyasha.
Michiru looked at the women again. "Hay, Sango." asked Michiru. "Yes?" she answered.
"How about we beat this thing. Like old times." "Old times?" asked Sango. Michiru
nodded. "Well, Ok." she said. Michiru brought his hands together, as a red star
symbol shined below his feet. Sango got into an offensive position.
"Forces of nature, heed my call. Unleash your powers Shikigami!" chanted Michiru.
His body was engulfed in blue energy. He then formed his Shikigami into a dragon-like beast,
and tossed it to Sango. Her body and weapon where then blanketed in the cosmic energy.
"Fight off this! Hiraikotsu!" shouted Sango, as she threw her weapon at the spider.
This time it took out all of the spider’s legs, as it screamed in agony.
"Now to finish it off!" shouted Inuyasha. He swung his sword in the air and brought
it down and shouted, "Kaze no kizu"! Three strips of energy, quickly dashed on the
ground toward the spider, and incinerated it.

Kagome walked up to where the spider once stood, and picked up the tainted shards.
Purifying them at her touch. The gang then gathered round and looked at Michiru.
Michiru paused, then smiled. "Hay, guys." he said. Inuyasha was the first to speak.
"So you come and go one minuet, and now you’re back. Kah! You’re no better than Kagome."
"Inuyasha! Don’t be rude!" shouted Kagome. "It’s Ok Kagome. I understand him.
I missed you too Inuyasha." said Michiru. Inuyasha gave him a smile. "I’m glad to see,
that you made it back to your time, in one piece." said the monk.
"Thank you, Miroku-sama." said Michiru. Michiru then herd a whimper.
It was coming from the fox child. Michiru got down on his left knee.
"What’s wrong Shippo?" asked Michiru. Shippo wiped the tears from his eyes.
"I..I missed you." he answered. "Don’t cry Shippo, I’m back. Ok." "I’m not crying!"
shouted Shippo. Michiru let out a chuckle. "Come on, let’s head back to Kaede’s Village."
suggested Inuyasha. "Sure." said Michiru.

Dusk was settling when our heroes reached the village. The where greeted by an old women
with gray hair, dark brown eyes, with an eye patch over the left one.
She had on a white komodo, with red hakama. "So, you’ve return." said the old women.
"Did you defeat the spider youkai?" she asked. "Yeah. We got him." replied Inuyasha.
"Oh, it’s you." said the old women. She was referring to Michiru. "It’s nice to see
you again Kaede-sama." said Michiru. "It’s nice to see you too. Come." said Kaede.
She led our heroes to her house.

The group sat around in a circle. Sango had changed into her komodo.
It was maroon, and white, and her hakama was green. Kirara was on Sango’s lap,
recovering from the battle. "So how is everyone?" asked Michiru. "I’m Ok." replied Miroku.
"That’s good." said Michiru, as he wiped tear from his eye. "What’s your problem?"
asked Inuyasha. "It’s just..it’s a while since I’ve seen you guys." replied Michiru.
"What are you talking about?" asked Inuyasha. "Huh?" asked Michiru. "You were only gone
for a week." said Shippo. "What?! Is this true?" asked Michiru. "Yes. It is." replied Sango.
"Hmm. This is weird." said Michiru. "Oh, I get it." he added. "What?" asked Shippo.
"When I was sent back to my time, the Doll Festival was still going on." said Michiru.
"That must mean that, when Utsugi’s magic disappeared, you where sent back to your era,
just moments when you first came to our era. Even thou you spent months in our time."
said Miroku. "I guess that about sums it up." added Kagome.

"I guess now, since I came here threw the Bone Eater’s Well, I can come to this era when
ever I want." said Michiru. "That’s right." added Kagome. There was a pause between
the group. Michiru looked at Miroku, then Sango. He then stood up. "Excuse me."
said Michiru. "Where you going?" asked Shippo. "Oh, just for a walk." replied Michiru.
Michiru then walked out of Kaede's house. A few minuets past, until Miroku broke the
silence. "It’s Ok Sango. Go after him." he said. "Hoshi-sama." she said quietly.
"I know you two got close when he first came here. Besides, he hasn’t seen you,
longer than you have seen him." he added. Sango was hesitant, but then she put
down Kirara, and went outside. Michiru was sitting cross-legged by the Mysterious Fields.
He had his hand on his face, and was looking at the ground. "Mind if I sit down?"
said a filmier voice. Michiru turned his head. "Oh, it’s you Sango." he said.
"Umm, go ahead." he added. Sango sat down on her calves.

They were both hesitant, to break the silence. Sango was the
first to speak. "So, how have you been." she asked. "Oh..I’ve been Ok." he replied.
That was all they could say for the moment. Michiru was the one who broke the silence
this time. "So how’s Kohaku?" he asked. "He’s been doing great. He’s almost completely
recovered from Naraku’s spell." she replied. "That’s good." said Michiru. It didn’t
take long for them to break the silence this time. "Say, Michiru." said Sango. "Yes?"
asked Michiru. "When we defeated Naraku, and you were drifting back to your time,
did..did you really mean what you said?" she asked. Michiru blushed and gasped.
He then turned to face Sango. They looked into each other’s eyes.
Michiru than got up the courage to smile and speak. "Yes, Sango. I did." he said.
Sango than gave a slight blush. Michiru turned back around. "However, I know how you
fell about Miroku-sama. And I know how he fells about you." he said. Sango had nothing
to say. "But, I’m glad I got to tell you how I fell. And, I very glad I got to see
you again." he continued. A tear was running down Michiru cheek, and he didn’t
want to show Sango.

Suddenly, he felt her arms wrap around his neck. He gasped at her embrace.
"Sango?" he asked. "I love you too." she said softly. Michiru felt his heart race,
and his face redden even more. They just sat there from a moment, until Michiru broke
the silence. "But, what about Miroku-sama?" he asked. "I love him too." she replied. "But..."
said Michiru. "I know it seams wrong. But I just can’t deny my feelings." she said.
Michiru paused, than asked her, "When did you start having feelings for me?" "I guess
they started to come out, that time on Asagiri Island." she replied. "When I stood up
to Kagura, and Utsugi when you were hurt?" he asked. "Yes." she replied. "But you said
I was an idiot for doing that." said Michiru. "Yes. But I also said you were very brave."
said Sango. Sango then reached for Michiru hand, and grabbed hold of it. "So soft."
thought Michiru. "I know you have responsibilities in your world like Kagome.
But please, visit me when ever you can." she said. Michiru turned around, and
looked into Sango’s eyes. He then hugged her. "I will Sango. I will." he said softly.
They just sat there, embracing each other, as the sun set behind them.

Latter, the group gartered round the Bone Eater’s Well. "So you’re going back already?’
asked Shippo. "Hay don’t worry Shippo. I’ll be back in a day or so." said Michiru.
"I’m going back too." said Kagome. "Kah! Again. Coming and going as you please."
growled Inuyasha. "Inuyasha, sit!" shouted Kagome. Inuyasha necklace started to glow.
He soon found himself face first in the dirt. "Ka..go..me!" snarled Inuyasha.
"Ah ha ha, well I’ll see you guys latter." said Michiru. He gave one last look at
Sango and smiled. She returned with a smile of her own. Miroku than gave a confused
look as he noticed the exchange. "Ready?" ask Kagome. "I’ am this time." said Michiru.
Kagome giggled as they both jumped in. They helped each other out, when they reached
the other side. They walked to the side door of the Higurashi household.
"Do you want to come in?" asked Kagome. "No, I should really get back home."
said Michiru. "Ok. I’ll get my mom." said Kagome. Kagome went inside, and came out
a moment latter with Higurashi-san. The three got into Higurashi-san’s car, and drove off.
During the car ride, Kagome noticed Michiru looking out the window, smiling.
"You got to see Sango-chan again. I’m happy for you Michiru." thought Kagome.

Soon they arrived at Kururugi Shrine. "Do you want me to walk you in?" asked Kagome.
"Sure." replied Michiru. The two got out of the car, and walked to the front door.
"Hay, Kagome." said Michiru. "Yes?" said Kagome. "Don’t worry about asking your
mother to pick me up. I’ll just take the bus." said Michiru. "Oh, it’s no trouble at all."
said Kagome. "No. I insist." said Michiru. "Well, all right. But don’t hesitate to ask, Ok."
said Kagome. "Oh, and Kagome." said Michiru. "Yes?" ask Kagome. Kagome gave out an "Oh."
when Michiru gave her a hug. "Thank you." he continued. "Um, you’re welcome." said Kagome.
Michiru let go of the hug. Kagome then ran back to the car. "Bye! See you latter!"
she shouted, as she waved. "Bye!" shouted back Michiru as he return the wave. He saw
Higurashi-san’s car drive off, and went inside his house.
