Everyone got on the plane, and settled in for the ride. The sat like this: Kagome, Hiei, and Marik on one row, each with a child in their lap, Kurama, Yusuke and Bakura in another row, and Yugi in the row in front of Kagome. They talked a bit, but mainly they all slept through the ride. Even Hiei. When they landed, they went over to the entrance and waited for someone to come pick them up. Five minutes later, a man with red-blonde hair and raggedy clothes showed up. (Can anyone guess who it is?)

 

The man smiled and said “Hello, my name is Remus Lupin. I was sent to get the new Japanese students. Are you them?” Kagome smiled “Yes Mr. Lupin.” She introduced them all, and then they left. Remus led them to the Leaky Cauldron, and out the back door. He opened the portal to Diagon Alley, and stepped through, motioning them to do the same. The children were oblivious to all of this, as they were still asleep.

 

They spent the next three and a half hours getting their school supplies. After that, Remus took them to the fireplace in the Leaky cauldron. He told them to walk into the fire and say '12 Grimauld place' He threw the floo powder in and they all did so. Once they were all there, Remus gave them rooms and they went to bed.

 

The next morning, everyone woke up and went downstairs. They met two boys that looked identical in the halls; Kagome introduced them all and started talking to them. They introduced themselves as Fred and George. Shippou, Kohaku, and Souta took an immediate liking to them. They all entered the dining room and sat down. They were the first ones down. Soon, everyone that was not on patrol had come in and were looking curiously at the new-comers, Harry, Ron, and Hermione especially. Fred and George were talking animatedly with Shippou and Kohaku about pranks they had pulled, Hiei, Marik, and Kagome were talking quietly in Japanese, and Yusuke and Kurama were talking about something in English. After everyone had finished, Kagome, Hiei, and Marik approached Remus.

 

“Lupin-sensei, we are ready to go to the ministry. We need to get Black-san out of the veil as soon as possible.” Kagome said quietly. “Yes, I'll take you as soon as I get Harry.” “Is that necessary? It would not be good should we fail to retrieve his LIVE body.” Hiei said, as emotionlessly as ever. “It would not be good to get his hopes up.” Marik remarked. Remus sighed, “Sirius is his godfather. Harry has every right to come.” “Come where?” They whirled around, and there stood Harry, Ron, Hermione, and the twins. “Come where?” Harry repeated. “Yeah, Kags, where?” Fred (or was it George?) asked. Kagome sighed, “To get Black-san. He is not, contrary to popular belief, dead. Or, at least, he shouldn't be.” She laughed nervously. Marik sweat dropped. “Kagome, you are not helping.” “Was I supposed to?” She smiled innocently. “Mom, you shouldn't do that. It's unkind.” Kohaku said, coming up and hugging her. She smiled. Harry, Hermione, and Ron's eyes bugged. “You have a kid?! Who's the father?!” Hermione asked, incredulous. Shippou bounced up onto Hiei's head. “Kagome's not our real mother, she adopted us.” Kohaku nodded. “So, when are we leaving? We need to get this done as quickly as possible.” Hiei said. “Right, well, let's go then.” Remus led them to the fireplace and instructed them “You remember how to use floo powder, right? Well, instead of '12 Grimauld Place', you say `Ministry of Magic, Department of Mysteries'. Then wait for everyone else to come through.” Everyone nodded. They went in this order: Kagome, Marik, Hiei, Kohaku, Harry, Ron, Hermione, Fred, George, and then Remus. Everyone else was staying behind.

 

Once they were all there, Remus led them to the Veil. Kagome walked up to it and said, “It's a mirror. Just like Kanna's.” Kohaku shivered. “Kohaku, give me an end of your sickle. I'll pull twice if I need help.” She said. Kohaku nodded, and gave her the chain end. Harry, Ron, and Hermione stared at it. Kagome wrapped the chain around her wrist and walked back up to the Veil. She calmly grabbed hold of the cloth, and flung it off of the mirror. In the reflection, you could see dark shapes, and you could hear soft whispers. A dark shape floated to the forefront, and Kagome smiled. The shape spoke, “It is good to see you once again, Kagome-san. It has been much too long.” “That it has, that it has.” She replied. “You seek the one who fell before his time?” It queried. “I do.” Her smile vanished. “He will not last much longer, I'm afraid. He has lasted for a very long time, but his strength wanes. He is even stronger than the last dog you took up with.” You could almost feel it's smile. “Now, now Jenenji, no need to be insulting. Now, will you show me to him?” She chastised. The air radiated with the figure, now known as Jenenji,'s amusement. “I will, though it does confuse me how you have lived this long. I have seen Inu-Yasha and the woman that looks like you. He said you had destroyed the spider hanyou. But enough prattle, come, his time is short.” Kagome entered the mirror. Kohaku slowly sank to the floor. Marik and Hiei stood on either side of him. “She's gonna come back, right?” Ron asked, quietly. Kohaku took a shaky breath, “She'll come back. She promised. She promised she'd always come back. Always” His voice cracked on the last word. Hiei and Marik knelt next to him “She will come back, Kohaku. She will not let herself be trapped.” Hiei said. “It's just like Kanna's mirror. She always escaped from Kanna's mirror. Besides, if we really need to, we can call Yugi in, and e can bring her out.” Marik said soothingly. Kohaku nodded. Suddenly, Kagome came crashing through the mirror, a large, black dog in her arms.

 

Harry gasped and made to rush forward, but Marik held him back. “Hold on, she's going to need some space. Hiei! Get over here. Keep them here, I'll help her.” Hiei was obviously furious, but he changed places with Marik nonetheless. “Why are you switching?” Hermione asked. “Because she could very well kill me if she loses control.” He growled. “Then why would Marik trade places with you?” Harry queried. “Because she would merely injure him.” He snarled. “Why's that?” Fred asked. “Because he's human, baka.” He stated, as though it were obvious. (And it was, really.) “And you're not?” George asked, confused. “Hn.” Hiei grunted. Suddenly, a bright light distracted them. They all turned towards the light, and everyone but Hiei was surprised to see Kagome as the source. She was glowing, and so was the `dog'. Harry's eyes widened. “What in bloody Hell is she doing to Sirius?!” He yelled. “She is healing him.” Kohaku said, emotionlessly. Ron shivered at the frost in his voice. “You are remembering, aren't you?” Hiei asked softly. Kohaku gave a short nod. “It hurts, really, really bad. Especially when you're already dead.” Kohaku said, his eyes glazed over. Hiei nodded. “What do you mean?” Remus asked. “Nothing.” Kohaku growled. The light stopped, and Kagome collapsed, Marik caught her. Everyone rushed forward, Hiei, Kohaku, and Fred to Kagome, and George, Harry, Ron, and Hermione to Sirius. Kagome blinked and said, “Hiei, I think I used a little too much energy. I need youki, chi, and lots of pure power to get me back on track.” And then, she passed out. “What does she mean?” George asked, coming over after his inspection of Sirius. “She means that she needs Marik, Hiei-papa, and probably you two to donate energy to her so she doesn't die.” Kohaku said, motioning towards Fred and George. “This happened when she saved me. She had Sesshoumaru, Rin, and Kaede give her power.” Hiei nodded and said “We need to get back to Grimauld place. I can't perform the ritual, but Kurama can.” Marik and the twins nodded.

 

Remus came over and said, “We need to leave. That burst of power has set off an alarm.” Everyone nodded, and Hiei picked up Kagome. Remus lifted Sirius onto his back, and they all left. Somehow, they would never remember how later, they managed to get out and get back to Grimauld Place without anyone seeing them. Once there, Sirius was taken to his room to rest, with Harry watching over him of course, and Kagome was taken to the twins' room with Hiei, Marik, the twins, and Kurama following.

 

Once in the twins' room, Kurama started giving orders. “Hiei, set Kagome on the bed, then, sit down near her on the bed. You three as well. Then, hold onto her. What part of her doesn't matter.” Once everyone had done so, he started chanting. “Inari tensou ryoku yori korera minamoto otame za hitotsu nanimono ni-zu itto. Inari tensou ryoku yori korera minamoto otame za hitotsu nanimono ni-zu itto.” (1) A blue, red, white, and purple light surrounded the five on the bed, and they all collapsed. Kurama left, closing the door behind him. He put wards on the door to keep people out, and then went downstairs. Once there, he collapsed onto the couch. Yusuke came and sat by him, as did Ron. “So, they gonna be okay?” Yusuke asked. Kurama nodded tiredly. “They should be able to come down in three days. That's about how long it'll take for all the memories to finish playing out. They're going to be inseparable. They'll know everything about each other, be able to sense all the others' emotions, and will be extremely protective of each other. Kagome'll probably end up sleeping in the boy's dormitories too, Fred and George will want to sleep in the sixth year dorms, and Hiei will probably sleep inside.” Kurama chuckled. “That's good. Hiei needed more friends than just you.” Yusuke said. “Yes, and Marik has been feeling very alienated, being in a strange country and all.” Bakura said, flopping down on the couch, while fiddling with one of Yugi's gold bracelets. “Yugi is not going to be happy that you `borrowed' another of his bracelets.” Kurama remarked. “So? It's not like I care. Besides, it is very tempting to steal something. How long has it been since you've done anything fun, Kurama?” He raised an eyebrow. “Hm…Let's see, about…three years. Yeah, three years since I've stolen anything of any value.” Kurama said. Ron's eyes bugged “You're a THEIF?” Kurama snorted “Technically, I'm a bandit, Bakura's a thief.” “Yeah, Kurama was a legend where we came from.” Yusuke said. “Until he got caught.” Bakura sniggered. “By Yusuke no less!” He laughed, and Yusuke sniggered. “I couldn't very well refuse to go with him, seeing as he saved both mine and my mother's lives.” Kurama protested. “Whoa…Cool!” Ron shouted. “Has any one seen the bracelet Shadi sent me?” Yugi asked, sitting on the couch. Kurama motioned towards Bakura. “Damnit Bakura! I need that! I can't contact Isis without it!” Bakura sighed, “Fine, here's your damn seer's bracelet.” Bakura threw it to him. “Seer's bracelet?” Ron asked. “Yeah, Isis is a seer. Her boyfriend sent this to me so that I can contact her if I need to.” Yugi said. “Her boyfriend sent another guy something with which to communicate to his girlfriend with? Are all Japanese people as strange as you all?” Ron asked. “No. We are strange even in our culture.” Kurama said. “Hell, we're abnormal in ANY culture.” Yusuke mumbled. “As entertaining as this conversation is, I'm exhausted, and unless I want to lose a tail, I need sleep. So, I bid you all farewell.” Kurama said, and then left. “What does he mean `lose a tail'?” Ron asked. “He means he spent way too much energy on the transfer, and he needs to regain his energy. So, he's going to bed.” Yusuke said. “That is not answering the question.” Ron said. “It's all the answer you're going to get kid.” Bakura said. Yugi had already left. Ron sighed. “Alright. Fine. You win.” He then stood up and left. Yusuke yawned and stood up, “I'm gonna go and ask about some training space. See ya.” Then he too left. Bakura sat back, and drifted off to sleep.
