Contemplation

"My other self you say. Interesting." he raised an eyebrow interested at this beings claim.

"If you are my other self then prove it. Show yourself." he commanded coming to a halt.

"As you wish."

After the words were spoken it seemed as if they were trapped in a dome as the words echoed until the already dark sky turned pitch back. The stars could be seen. It seemed as if he was looking into the endless abyss. Slowly a godly looking figure descended from the very heavens themselves. As he landed Sesshoumaru was in awe at the sight of his companions.

"You seem surprised Sesshoumaru. As I said I am yourself." said the entity smiling at him.

"Why is she here." he asked his voice almost betraying his facade.

"I assume you mean Rin. I take comfort in the innocence of human children as well." he said patting the head of the small child and smiling.

"Enough. Let me continue this quest." he said impassively turning and walking away.

"Where are my weapons?" he asked staring blankly at his waist.

"If I told you your quest would before naught."

"Hmph. You waste my time."

At this point her sped up his search to get on with this farce so he wold be able to escape this worthless use of space. As he furthered his search he encountered a towering building of sorts. He came to a halt as he realized what the building was.

"Welcome back Sesshoumaru. This is what your castle is to become."

The castle was the only object in this desolate wasteland. The walls were crumbling and the once full field of flowers look as if the lightest touch of wind would turn the dead flowers to ash.

"This is what my castle is to look like if I do not what?" he asked narrowing his eyes at a transparent figure pacing around.

"If you do not appreciate your assistance."

"Assistance? You speak of Jaken." he said emotionlessly.

"Yes."

The wind picked up and Sesshoumaru's gaze turned to his servant.

"Milord, I have been your fateful servant for decades yet you pay me no mind and show me no respect. If only you could have been more considerate."

"Tell me, is this what Jaken wants." he aske looking back at his other self.

"Yes, for each wish you carry out you will be rewarded with memories of your life before death."

"I wont remember anything when I am reborn?" he asked questioning the fact of rebirth and the loss of his memory.

"Yes. You can also regain your former image by collecting your garments, armor and weapons."

"My image? I will not look as I do now?" he asked raising an eyebrow.

"Yes, humph. About that, you see when being reborn for a demon means he loses his powers, image, and status. In other words you will become, a human.

"What! I rather go to hell then become human!" he snapped.

"Calm down Sesshoumaru. As long as you accomplish your goals you shall become a demon again."

"Fine. Let us continue this." he said rushing off wanting to finish this as soon as possible.

"Why is he one of my goals!" he yelled pointing at the standing form of his brother.

"Sesshoumaru, you and Inuyasha need to acquire a brotherly bond. In doing this you will be closer to your main goal.

"How? what is my main goal?" he asked.

"That, I cannot tell you." his entity said with a smile.

"You hold many secrets being. You must inform me of them." he almost commanded.

"Soon milord, soon."

"What is the next goal?"

"The next goal is simple."

"What is it?"

"Understand your fathers question. `Do you have something to protect?'."

"To protect?"

"What is valuable enough to you Sesshoumaru to protect?"

"One day I will understand that."

"Soon enough your object to protect will appear and it will make you remember......
